Passover – Selected Excerpts from the Sources. (And the Children of Israel Sighed from the work #208)
1.Rav’s Introduction (00:27)
Yes, we are learning excerpt by excerpt all the topics that pertain to the exodus from Egypt, it is the most revolutionary operation that the Creator operates on us, does to us, takes us through there is nothing more than that. When we transition from the corporeal world from the intentions in order to receive, qualities that are in order to receive where all that we do is only for ourselves to intentions to bestow upon others because what is outside of us, in the end we see that what is outside of us is only the Creator and in this work when we even try just to think about it, it seems very long, very far and that we have not interest, no connection to it, we are so far from it until we become more and more organized and to think and read and draw reforming light, and that light operates on us and changes our perception of it bit by bit and gives us new values.
So that to think about ourselves, when we think about ourselves, we are in our beast and we have no way to emerge from ourselves into the Creator who is outside of us. This is possible only through an effort that we make together with the environment. We seemingly perform such exercises with the environment that they bring us out because, I dwell among my own people, meaning the Creator is in the environment and to the extent that a person lowers himself and bows before the environment, as much as he tries to annul himself before the environment, by this he awakens the Creator who is in these people, I dwell among my own people, and he impels the Creator to help him. Here we are in a process until we gradually grasp this principle and are willing to accept it from the beginning when we completely reject it, until we agree with it and then want it, we understand that it is impossible, completely impossible to do anything otherwise and this is how it should be and we agree with this entire plan of Creation that the Creator has created and in this way we advance towards implementing it on ourselves.
We ask and cry out and demand of the Creator to do this operation on us, meaning to deliver us from Egypt and along the way we see that we cry out, we cry, and the people of Israel sighed from the work. This work is the connection between us. The connection between us should come to such dimensions where we discover the Creator between us, where we can grasp Him. We grip Him in that work of connection between us and this network of connection is big enough that the Creator is trapped in this network and doesn’t run away from it and we become tighter and tighter in our mutual concern for one another in order to grip Him and by this bring Him contentment and come from brotherly love, from connection between us to come to connection with the Creator.
That is the way, there are many many manners of connections in it, we learn about them. We will learn some more but here we are basically making the first spiritual vessel in the connection between us. So let’s read the excerpts and you can ask as much as you want and that is how we will go forward. The process we already heard about but still, getting into it emotionally, this is what we need. With our feeling, to see, how we take step by step, step by step, until we come to a state where we feel that we are ready for the exit, from the world of in order to receive to the world of the intention to bestow.
2. S. (06:28) Rav you said that the connection between us needs to reach such dimensions that we will capture the Creator in the network of connection between us.
R. Yes.
S. To what dimensions does our connection need to reach?
R. until we grasp the Creator between us.
S. Yes, but the dimensions of the connection itself, how should it be formed?
R. I don’t know but I know that if we are to catch a whale we need a net with…
S. Big holes?
R. Yes, big holes, but if we want to catch small fish then they need to be much smaller and if we need to catch even smaller, tiny fish then we need tiny holes in the net so it’s according to what we want. In spirituality it depends on the connection between us, this net that we spread and when we connect amongst us in such a way in such an intention and understanding of what we are going for that the matching between us is such that, according to our equivalence of form with the network that we build between us and the Creator, that there will be such equivalence of form that we will truly come close to Him and catch Him. Basically that is it, that is the operation. We are approaching it, we understand better, we feel more, we are building the connection between us. There are groups that are very advanced in this but we want more and more to grow stronger in this.
Excerpt 208 (08:50)
3. R. (08:60) What does it mean to sigh in the work? We understand that we have no power, intentions, thoughts, abilities to achieve equivalence of form with the Creator to bestow upon Him to touch Him in any way, nothing, so it turns out what happens is when we want to never the less approach Him and come to Him, we discover that we are more and more opposite from Him because our level of precision, the extent to which we can be connected in order to establish something that is suitable to the Creator we see that it is to the contrary. We discover that we are more and more unsuitable, further, more distant and because of it we feel that we have no chance of approaching the Creator and of catching Him according to our equivalence of form and connecting with Him and therefore we come to a state of the children of Israel sigh from the work because we have no chance of coming to a stage where we according to our qualities when we are connected among us, so we will also be able to come to some state where we reach the Creator and catch him.
Excerpt 208 (10:48)
4. Rav reads (12:05): It is written and the children of Israel sighed from the work. What work are we talking about? What made them feel so difficult, discomfort, heaviness, lack of success? It says from the work of the Creator, what does that mean? This is called hard work since it was difficult for them to work in order to bestow it is against a person’s nature. So it is not like it is difficult, it is impossible, if I look at all my thoughts and desires correctly not in my thoughts or in my desire, I can not do any act of bestowal because the Egyptians and Pharaoh, which is man’s nature influenced them meaning a person’s thoughts and desires installed in them their thoughts and wishes meaning only for themselves. In other words meaning since the shell of Egypt is primarily self-love, the Egyptians ruled over the people of Israel meaning the entire body of the person all his thoughts, desires and actions.
So that the people of Israel too would walk in their way in order to receive called self-love it was difficult for Israel meaning that tiny thought that the the Creator gave to a person, to develop it and run away from the intention to receive, so it was difficult for Israel, to that tiny thought in a person to overcome these thoughts, a person’s ego which is called Egyptians. This is the meaning of the words and the children of Israel sighed from the work meaning that they could not separate from the aim to receive their thoughts and desires much less rise above them and perform operations in order to bestow, It seems impossible and when they see it then they really have this outcry to the Creator that we have no choice, we are in the nature that you created in us. So what do we do? If you did it then you can cancel it, you can revoke it but we cannot.
This recognition of evil is very important. In other words first of all we discover that the Creator created this evil and we cannot emerge from this evil unless with the Creator’s permission. If he helps us, if he delivers us from this nature and gives us a different nature and then in this way we do pass into the spiritual world, there is no problem. If I could perform any action that is before me and I do not do it, that is one thing but if I know or should know that I cannot perform this action then I must only check to what extent I am incapable, to what extent the Creator governs me in every single way, to what extent He governs all of my desires and thoughts in order to receive, where I am now we’re Pharaoh governs and then I cry out help in all kinds of ways.
You can turn to the Creator and say why did you do this to me? Do the opposite, take me out of the intention to receive into the intention to bestow and all kinds of, here a person goes through all kinds of, this great whirlpool and it is all good because he begins to feel the nature of this world that is in order to receive, perhaps the nature in order to bestow that comes against it because we are building the spiritual world on top of the corporeal world. Why do we have to be in Egypt? Why do we need to be in the intention to receive for so long and with all of those events? Because it is impossible to put together in us a perception of the spiritual world without perceiving the corporeal world and on top of it building the spiritual world.
5. S. (17:22) Why, each and every one of us is not in equivalence of form but when we connect we add that equivalence of form?
R. I didn’t understand. If we connect then we add equivalence of form, if we are not in equivalence of form but we try to connect so then we discover how much we are in inequivalence of form, in disconnection, in contradiction. So on top of it we begin to work and connect among us and then we put together the network of connection between us because there are distances between us but we connect ourselves nevertheless to each other through some sort of strings of connection and by this we build the net. Now what are you asking about this?
S. So it is not that we connect and achieve equivalence of form, we first need to work with our ego and ask the Creator to help us, correct?
R. It turns out that it is like that that we have no connection between us and we try to create the connection between us and see how maybe, sometimes it works out, maybe we have this tiny string to one friend to another friend and a third friend and so on until we begin to see in it mutual actions where we gradually establish a network until we can come to a state where this network of connection becomes so connecting that we will not feel that there are any spaces between us but rather everything is in the net more and more. Positive things, negative things too, everything is included in the net, in our desire to be connected and it is impossible to have a connection between us unless by love covering all crimes where we discover more and more how much we are not close between us but how much we do want to be close and those two parts those two forces will later become the basis of the Partzuf. The coarseness, restriction, screen and reflected light.
6. S. (20:40) In the article it says that they sighed from the work but when I observe myself I do not sigh from Pharaoh, on the contrary, that I want to receive everything, I want to swallow the treasure of the king, I want to steal, I want you take everything, I have the right to receive and absorb and I want to receive pleasure, only the pleasure. I do not want to give, I do not want to exit Egypt, so what can I do?
R. You are advancing correctly and you are saying correct things no one wants to come out of Egypt but afterwards the Creator plays all kinds of tricks on us and all kinds of exercises he does with us so we will want to come out, to run away. It all depends on how much we, in our will to receive suffer from the work in Egypt and want to escape or to what extent in the desire to bestow, which nevertheless grows between us, to what extent we appreciate the connection between us and want to exist in the connection between us, meaning already outside of Egypt. So there are two states here. We in Egypt, want or do not want to come out and it all pertains to our vessels of reception and we outside of Egypt as much as we can imagine the situation in our vessels of reception and vessels of bestowal and see if we want it or not and in this way we advance through these scrutinies. So there will come a time when you see that what really awakens in you, a desire to exit but in the meantime we wait until you want to cry and the children of Israel cried out from the work when you see your situation as truly, I don’t know crazy? crazy? I don’t know how to put it to try to translate it in some way.
S. Like you’re going to go crazy?
R. Yeah, maybe, you just don’t know what to do anymore.
S. Rav, its shell is so tasty, it is attracting you. You cannot sacrifice, you cannot turn your head from what you can get, to bestowal and Israel.
R. Yes and no. It all depends on the amount of suffering that you begin to feel. In our world too you can find many examples when you love something and afterwards you begin to see that your relation to that thing brings you trouble, so you nevertheless agree with it but then the troubles intensify so much that you are willing to give anything only to get away from the source of trouble. So the same happens here. It all depends on our level of awareness of recognition of how bad the will to receive is and the Creator awakens this in us, gradually, slowly so we nevertheless do discover in our understanding, in our recognition, in our feelings, where we are what we are dealing with etc. It will come. Everything is built gradually and from above. We just have to continue. We only need patience to keep going on the path from lesson to lesson and from state to state and then you will see how it all accumulates within you and brings you the feeling of the corporeal reality, the spiritual reality and how you begin to work with it consciously.
S. Yes Rav but I had a tendency towards bestowal but I feel like in yesterday morning lesson we received something, we received a push from the Creator and I do not know what happened to me actually it is…
R. And today it is gone? It always comes and goes, comes and goes. This is how we begin to feel the changes in us. That is it and this is how it should correctly happen and then there is none so wise as the experienced when you go through all those states, from those States you begin to put together your correct relation to life, your attitude to life.
S. And the vessel grows?
R. Of course the vessel grows precisely by acquiring contradicting, opposite impressions.
S. How much does the vessel need to grow in order to receive the abundance?
R. How much? There is no measure, infinitely. It should contain with it all the will to receive and all the will to bestow in connection between them and an opposite connection between them.
S. It is a blessing for us?
R. Yes of course. It is written about it, one should bless, to be thankful for the bad as for the good because both are included in the correct vessel.
S. Will we also come to a state where we will embrace Pharoah?
R. Of course we will. Pharaoh is all the will to receive in order to receive by which we rise to the mountain of the Creator. When we come to the Creator it is only thanks to Pharoah.
S. So we come to a place that we say, none else besides Him? The Creator is disguising through different forms but also the body rejects there is none else besides Him. The body wants to see a lot of forces?
R. Yes. In short, through the evil inclination which the Creator created, through it we reveal and achieve adhesion with the Creator.
7. S. (28:40) You said that we are building a network. So is that that everything that the friend recognized as a deficiency in the ten and then prays for the friend and prays for the ten or is it that the ten raises a prayer of many? How do we do that? How do we work in a network and advance together as one man with one heart?
R. The ten is us, that is it, all of us in a ten. Let’s say right now I’m seeing USA Northeast, it is a ten, so when you unite together I want to build a connection between you and from the connection turn to the Creator this is called a ten, this is called a group. This is the place for a prayer, for a plea and there you get the response from the Creator. Okay?
8. S. (29:45) Question about building the intention. You have to build the intention before the action, over the action but usually the best case scenario is that I remember it after the fact.
R. It only shows how much you have not done anything yet. If you begin to work in spiritual actions then of course the main thing is the intention. Following the intention you choose with what action you can realize your intention and in every act you do, you have to continue the intention otherwise the act that you are doing and the action disappears from it, it is as if where are you? You remained only as a beast but the human in you fled, you lost him along the way. The intention in us is the human in us, the man, the adam in us so try not to separate from the intention. Why am I doing it? What am I doing, for what purpose, what is the purpose that I should achieve? What do I expect to happen? Usually the intention cannot be established correctly unless you connect it to the Creator. When you attach it, when you glue it to the Creator and then you follow that connection, that tiny connection you have with the Creator and you enhance the connection, this is the act itself.
9. S. (32:01) How does the form of the ego change when you exit Egypt?
R. We will talk about it later, in the meantime we have no connection to it. It is a big process.
10. S. (32:17) Is there a best way to examine oneself in order to be certain that I have not even one thought about bestowal?
R. On the contrary you have to constantly yearn that all of your thoughts and desires will be in order to bestow and then you will come to a state every now and again that you are in order to receive.
S. What does it mean then to examine the intention, how to do it?
R. So again I am reiterating, try to work in order to bestow as much as possible as powerfully as possible and as long as possible in the process and then you will see how you fall from it, how much you fall from it, only in this way. You can check your actions only according to your positive effort.
11. S. (33:35) If you can say, you said that the children of Israel sigh from the work, that they recognize that they can’t make any spiritual action. Typically I can recognize that if I do not achieve something that I have some standards that I can compare with, Israel don’t have that. In the ten we do many actions. How can we be aware and recognize that we cannot make any true spiritual action because we have no standard to measure?
R. What do we not have?
S. We do not have a standard towards which we can measure?
R. Who has it?
S. No one.
R. We are drawn to it, this is called the work in Egypt, the work in the darkness. We don’t know quite if we are working correctly or not, where we are, we do not know. We simply want to reach it, the intention to bestow. It is written about it, whatever is in the power of your hand to do, that do. You, which is how you are used to working, you want to see that road in front of you securely, solidly, the light shines and you’re trying to like a train ride on the rails on the tracks. You won’t have it in the spiritual work so don’t even look for it. You have to look for how you go each time with more bestowal, if you want to advance from one state to the next it is by adding bestowal, adding connection, adding love. There is nothing else.
S. After the lesson we built a prayer with the ten, we did some spiritual work, we felt that way and then we scattered. How do we recognize that we have not truly attained the spiritual work?
R. Did you discover the power of connection, the power of bestowal, the power of love between you? If not then it is a sign that you did not come to the desirable state when you came out of Egypt.
S. But we said that we probably, in composing the prayer we felt something.
R. Okay so you have something but it is not as if you came out of the boundaries of Egypt.
S. What is that state? This sigh?
R. That I really want it, that I crave it and I discovered that I cannot.
S. Why can’t, why incapable?
R. Because I am discovering that all of my thoughts and desires as much as I try to perform in them actions in order to bestow I discovered that I am still in my thoughts and intentions in order to receive. This is called ,and the children of Israel sighed from the work. You are right. You are making the right efforts and they are good but you still have not discovered that it is all, instead of bringing you to the good spiritual state of bestowal, connection, revelation of the Creator etc it brings you Into darkness. To more recognition of the correct state of where you are, that you are still in Egypt.
S. What does it mean to be in Egypt?
R. You can tell me whatever you want but look at the results. The more you want to exit in order to receive, to exit the disconnect, the detachment, the distance between us ultimately we cannot and that means that we are still in Egypt. Until we start crying to the Creator, we have not reached out yet that true cry where I do not want anything except for one thing where I want to detach for my ego as if I want to exit my own body, my own self, that is the state. Very difficult to describe but it is coming, it is coming, we are approaching it.
12. S. (39:26) When do we feel bestowal? After the outcry, after the exodus from Egypt or am I confused and do not identify the terms here?
R. When it happens, we will feel.
13. S. (39:55) Is it correct, it appears from the words that we have to ask that he will help us, pray for the connection between us and everything is included in this?
R. Yes.
14. S. (40:13) What is the connection that brings the ten to the next high degree of the Creator?
R. The correct connection that we want to be as one so as to reveal the Creator who appears in the connection between us
15. S. (40:37) How do we awaken friends in the ten without pressuring them too hard? How do we not do harm, where’s the boundary between the awakening of the friends and self annulment?
R. This is all something that can be measured only in love. If you were to relate to the friend with love this means you are using yourself to connect with them and not using him to connect with him and that is called love covers all crimes.
16. S. (41:21) When the Creator is revealed does the whole ten see it or not?
R. That is not something that has to happen, only those two who truly participate.
17. S. (41:38) When we talk about faith above reason is this connected to an intellectual ability is it something intellectual or does it come from the upper one?
R. It only goes through the emotion and after I feel then perhaps I can also discuss this intellectually and sort it out and express it in some words.
18. S. (42:08) When I see a friend that refuses to take responsibility and shifts with a frivolous attitude, I do not feel like he is taking our connection seriously and this interferes with my intention. Should I point this out to him or just continue to pray?
R. That depends on what state you are all in but it is also permitted to express some discontent from the connection between you.
19. S. (43:02) What is a state when a person feels that he cannot be like the Creator and everything he does is in order to receive and he also does not have an outcry?
R. He is still in the process of recognition of evil, he should continue.
20. S. (43:30) We do very deep work in the ten lately with our desire. We annul. So the question is what work do we need to do in our desire in corporeality? Should we remove this as well? For example, if I like to dress nicely or I like to eat a lot, should I work on these desires too?
R. Do whatever you want with your corporeality for your beast, just take care of the human in you that he will connect and get closer to the friends.
21. S. (44:30) There’s constant scrutiny in our ten regarding the action and the intention. Some are saying that we are in the world of actions we need to do all the time, some are saying that it is best to do less but with the intention. How do we reconcile, integrate between them?
R. We need to do both as much as we can both in action and intention. Action without intention is a beastly action and intention without an action is an action of an angel, a spirit without the actual force so it is not this or that it has to be both as much as possible.
22. S. (45:28) Why should the outcry come from the ego and not from adhesion? Why shouldn’t the outcry be to reach the complete goal which is adhesion?
R. Try and see how possible this is. It is not possible to reach the opposite form all at once. You understand? First you have to try to get out of prison and then be a good person.
Excerpt 209 (46:27)
Excerpt 210 (47:16)
23. R. (48:37) There is something subtle here that I have to discover that I am happy because I am unable to do anything and I am helpless and I am truly despaired and then I turn to the Creator. I have then joy in turning to the Creator and that is why I have joy in the suffering because the suffering pushes me to Him. Without that I would not reach Him, I would not yearn for Him, I would not be pushed towards him. Therefore in those cries there is joy and gratitude that I have the ability to cry to you. to ask of you. I discover that by that you are in front of me, above me and therefore this whole work even though it seems as horrible manual labor that is hopeless and so on but I am happy that all of that comes to me from the Creator.
That is of course not something that is felt in the first few steps in the work but afterwards it appears this way and then I already taste a sweet taste, the mitigation of judgments as I cry to the Creator and ask of the Creator. In my cry to the Creator there is already great inner joy that I have who to cry to, whom to turn to and I discover there is something, someone who is waiting for me to turn to Him and in such a way He can help me and therefore there is some expansion of mind and emotion here through our connections, through pharaoh to the Creator, that specifically these bad forces are those that revealed to me the good connection with the Creator. Alright?
24. S. (51:27) At the evening meeting with friends the general feeling of my ten was that we are in an empty place, hanging in the air with no Creator, no desire but nevertheless we are together in the same group in the morning lesson. How come we culminate to each other in the ten that the only salvation is in this work?
R. Just try to think about it and that will tie the friends together and appear between you and these thoughts will influence each other that is how it will happen. That is how it will happen, don’t worry it will come.
Excerpt 211 (52:46)
25. R. (53:38) Meaning there cannot be redemption without exile and vice versa they both have to mutually support each other. It is like he says through the struggle a place of prayer awakens and then by these prayers that accumulate, meaning our deficiencies towards the Creator that appear in a stronger more powerful more specific fashion, we get closer to a deficiency that actually becomes the spiritual vessel. So what advances us towards redemption? The sensation of the exile. What becomes a vessel for the revelation of the reward, the revelation of the creator? Prayer.
26. S. (54:42) How can we distinguish between a pure soul and constantly feeling the bad and evil more because both come from the Creator?
R. There’s the vessel and there’s the light, the light that comes, there are many lights. The light that comes to build the desire, shape it correctly, shap the intention and there are lights afterward that come together with the mutual work with the corrected desire so as to fulfill the desire. That is how we lay out the process, the actions.
27. S. (55:55) How do we add to the prayer so that it comes out of the deficiency for a spiritual vessel?
R. Prayer is a deficiency of the heart, work of the heart. To the extent that we work on our heart we gradually better and better shape the prayer. What is the prayer? It is the appeal to the Creator, the Creator is in our heart deep deep deep down we do not feel that central point in our heart because it is a point of the innermost desire, the original desire created by the Creator. He holds that inner point of our heart and the more we work on our heart we are actually wanting to penetrate and reach the Creator and there at the central point of our heart we will have connection with the Creator.
S. What exactly is a spiritual deficiency as you said ten minutes ago?
R. That we pray, we shape the connection between us, more accurately the ten and the Creator and by that we build such a collection of ten vessels that will be connected to the Creator in mutual bestowal. We towards the Creator and vice versa, direct light, reflected light and this way we will build the spiritual Partzuf and spiritual actions and we are going to learn about these actions later in the study of the ten Sefirot to see what we actually need to do in practice. First we need to achieve the spiritual vessel.
Excerpt 212 (58:37)
28. R. (01:00:17) So we see there is a process here. We still don’t exactly feel that we’re in it but by this process we reach a true prayer from the bottom of the heart, maybe read it again.
Rav reads Excerpt 212 (01:00:40)
29. R. (01:02:36) So when does a person pray from the bottom of the heart? When he really wants to reach bestowal and he can’t. He sees he has no chance.
30. S. (01:02:54) The truth is I am confused. My question is how to justify the Creator?
R. To justify the Creator is very difficult because we are in an opposite nature and we think that everything that’s happening to us, if we relate it first to the Creator, that’s one thing but if we do we have a big problem because what we feel is we feel bad things. Meaning that the Creator then appears bad in our eyes. We don’t want Him, we want to hide Him, we forget about Him. He’s also doing these acts of concealment so that we won’t come to Him blaming and hating. Our whole work in the group between us is to assemble between us a good, correct attitude between us and from us to the Creator. A good warm inner attitude on top of everything we discover and experience between us and then through our efforts we awaken the light that reforms and it influences us. It takes a long time but it works on us and then that’s how we begin to reveal the Creator as good.
31. S. (01:04:54) Tell me please why does it say here in the excerpt that one who tries by himself and then succeeds in doing it, why specifically by himself?
R. Each one must try to do these actions but ultimately each and every one’s efforts should be towards coming to connection between them, making a common effort.
32. S. (01:05:33) What does it mean that I see that I cannot do anything by myself? What am I seeing? What is the proof here?
R. For years, years that I’m in the wisdom of Kabbalah I reveal that the outcome of anything doesn’t depend on me. What’s up to me is to do efforts but the results don’t depend on me. There is a difference between my effort and what appears to me. In the middle lies the Creator and that’s how I feel myself under His rule. That’s it and the Creator appears one time as Pharaoh another time as the Creator, from within the friends and from outside of the friends. The main thing I need to try to do is as many actions as possible, based on what we learn.
S. So do I feel that what I did means nothing, it doesn’t make any difference, how do I know that? How do I feel that?
R. You see it from your history, how long you are with us and trying and you see you get nothing from it and then you have such thoughts and desires of leaving, what will I get out of this? You’re there because there’s no choice. If you would see something more successful you’d run away. So what do you do? You keep going for lack of a better choice. That’s our work. Until you will find .in spite of that, good correct actions, desires until bit by bit what the mind doesn’t do the time will until we come to a state where we begin to feel where we are. What is that network that we are in.
S. What is stopping me from crying to the Creator now? I’ve been with BB for a long time. What’s stopping me from crying to the Creator?
R. Answer yourself. I’ll tell you this. Check, what is preventing you from yelling to the Creator? Because you’re not sure that you have connection with Him.
33. S. (01:08:47) On the one hand I’m the happiest person in the world because in this dark world I have a chance to serve the Creator, I have the teacher, I have the friends on the other hand I have great suffering because Creation, the created beings suffer tremendously, I see it. It makes me very sad. Is this the right way to pray?
R. Yes. If you discover deficiencies or troubles, plights, problems that people suffer, you have to pray for them. They cannot turn to the Creator and ask Him to get closer to them or to bring them closer to Him and you can do that so do it, turn to the Creator and ask Him to bring Humanity closer to Him. That is our work and by that you will see that you are drawing closer to the Creator. This is the best means to get closer to the Creator, if you pray for the sake of humanity.
34. S. (01:10:26) During the day we’re trying to build this prayer in the ten and also in the meetings that we have during the day on zoom and on the phone. How do we awaken envy in this prayer?
R. Discuss it between yourselves. This is something you should awaken each other towards.
35. S. (01:10:58) You spoke about confidence, that we have no confidence that we have a direct relation to the Creator. How can I increase my confidence or come to this confidence?
R. Only by the society, only by the group you have no other place from which to receive this surrounding light that gives you confidence.
S. And if I don’t feel it in the society?
R. Then open the heart and you will feel. You have nothing to complain about, you have the group, you have the teacher, you of the Creator, you have everything. If you feel that you are incapable of that, cry.
36. S. (01:12:01) Is there not something more immediate to come in contact with the Creator? Why does it have to go all the way to the bottom of the heart?
R. Because the Creator resides there. Only by wanting to feel the friends, by that you penetrate to the depths of your heart.
37. S. (01:12:40) If we think more deeply it seems like in every prayer, I’m asking about joy, so in every prayer there is gratitude and there’s no place to ask because if I go deeper it seems that I’m justifying the Creator in everything even if we haven’t reached Him, even if we’re disconnected it’s the best situation the most perfect situation that the Creator created and He created everything specifically for this state, so what is the place for the request here because a request is like criticism, yes? Change what you created.
R. Prayer means, the action of prayer means Le’Hitpalel, to examine oneself, basically it means to go back to oneself. So the prayer is how you inspect yourself, monitor yourself and examine yourself and then you reveal on the outside what you have on the inside, that’s basically the action of prayer. You don’t actually need to turn to the Creator and approach Him. He’s already in your heart to begin with, you just have to recognize for yourself what is your heart and then you’re already doing actions on your heart in order to give more and more place in your heart for the Creator.
S. Correct and there’s nothing to change here. It turns out that there’s nothing to change here but me? I’m fine, I understand it but in this prayer what am I asking for? Why do we have these requests?
R. You’re asking to be more connected to the friends because in the connection with the friends you will open your heart, discover your heart, disclose your heart to the Creator. It’s not only you and your heart, all the friends should be in your heart. They have to stand in your heart and in them the Creator enters and your heart feels how much the Creator enters into the friends and you feel it in your heart. That’s how we come to be in contact with the Creator. That’s how all of creation comes to complete connection with the Creator.
38. S. (01:15:45) It’s felt that other than the sense of the recognition of evil there’s no way to get rid of the ego but it’s a slow process. How can we hasten this and how can we ask about this?
R. Ask. You can ask all day long, 24 hours and besides the recognition of evil we have nothing to do. Just to recognize what is disturbing us to be in adhesion between us and through that in adhesion with the Creator.
S. In 209 he said that they were afraid they would remain there forever. What is that state? When does that come where you are afraid that you will remain in Egypt forever?
R. This is a good thing. It’s already a state that comes before the beginning of the exodus. It’s not yet the exit but it’s the beginning, the transition.
39. S. (01:16:53) You said that the friends stand in your heart and you’re asking for them. What does it mean that the Creator fills the friends that are in my heart?
R. This means that He fills my heart. When I pray for the friends of the Creator to fill them; that’s considered that I’m praying from my heart to be filled by the Creator. Because it’s the same. I don’t have any other heart but the one that is connected, that includes the desires of the friends who gathered together to one desire, that’s how it was “as one man in one heart”. That’s how it was in the beginning of creation and then it broke with respect to our emotions and we have to recollect it. Right now I don’t have a heart. My heart is broken. I don’t know it, I don’t feel it. It’s only like a beast. when I collect, when I accumulate all the desires, the thoughts, the hopes from my friends together and from that i want to make a vessel; this is considered that i’ve reached my correct heart. This is how it works.
S. I feel the hearts of the friends, their desires in my heart. What does it mean that the Creator fills those desires that I’m asking for?
R. With love. when I start feeling that there is love between us, it’s as if we are all in an ocean of love. This is the state where we are connected in one heart.
40. S. (01:19:11) The fact that I see that some of the friends in the ten are together in this cry to the Creator but others do not even seem to realize that they are in Egypt. What does this showing me, the fact that I don’t do the necessary work and efforts toward the ten to really look like one unit? What can I do to make this real?
R. I have to care about everyone, to bring everyone out of Egypt. Because this story about Egypt is telling me how much when you come out of Egypt it’s like a family, like a tribe, is there another word? like a flock, a true tribe; the wise, the foolish, the men, the women, the younger ones, the elderly, with their animals, they’re not really animals they are humans in their animate degree; and with all their vessels they took from the Egyptians, everyone comes out of Egypt. That is how I have to relate to all my friends in the ten. I don’t examine them, I always see them with love like a mother looking at her child with love she doesn’t see anything bad in him; everything is good, look how sweet, how beautiful, how smart he is, how he smiles; that’s how it should be. Try to come closer to your friend’s this way then we can all come out. Don’t leave anything in Egypt meaning we all come out in order to bestow above the Parsa and we’re close to that, you don’t know what’s waiting for you, you should.
41. S. (01:22:03) If we build a good and nice attitude above the hatred and pride, so that is actually kind of a perfect state, why do we need prayer at this point?
R. How do you build it if not through prayer? You raised the deficiency to the Creator because you see that you cannot build anything on your own, by yourself. This deficiency you elevate it’s called a prayer, and then from above you get over your MAN you get MAD; a force from above building everything for you, building and elevating you.
S. It’s like we’re performing external efforts, we’re relating nicely to each other, we ‘re talking nicely to one another.
R. It’s not an external effort. The efforts are from within the desire, the desire is in the foundation of each and every action.

42. R. (01:26:55) Such beautiful and complete words maybe that’s why we have no questions so it’s time to move on to the women.
43. S. (01:27:15) In 208 it’s written that the Egyptians and Pharaoh king of Egypt brought them their thoughts and desires. During the morning lesson there is such a cessation from the Egyptians and Pharaoh upon our thoughts and desires?
R. No, there’s no cessation at any time or place and the composition of the ones who study and participate it’s just that we discover these things according to our preparation.
44. S. (01:27:53) How did it turn out that the will to receive grows during the study of Kabbalah?
R. While we’re studying the Wisdom of Kabbalah in general, not only at one lesson but in general in this process we draw upon us the light that reforms and then it affects us, bestows upon us, and our will to receive grows and that’s how we advance. we need two things: A desire to grow and that’s by the light that reforms and the correction to grow over that same desire and that’s also by the light that reforms, and all that happens only through the extent of a connection between us and the extent of dealing with the true sources of Kabbalah that bring us the surrounding light as Baal HaSulam writes to us in the end of the introduction of TES that “through engaging in these texts we awaken the surrounding lights upon them”.
45. S. (01:29:19) you mentioned earlier that upon the corporeal world we build the spiritual world, what does it mean?
R. That upon our reality that seems to us in that way that is corporeal when we accept it in the vessels of the reception in order to receive, and according to the space we have the order of degrees, what’s best and what’s not, this is how we build the upper reality, the spiritual one which is entirely in bestowal. And, there too, there are degrees one compared to the other one above the other. For it to be impregnated in us when it starts growing in us then we’ll see how this is established.
S. But what does it mean upon the corporeal world?
R. Means that we see the corporeal world and at the same time we give the right spiritual grades to what’s going on in the corporeal world. We can’t explain it now. We will have to see the other half as well.
46. S. (01:30:46) I heard that the main thing for us is patience, what do you mean by that?
R. the th main thing as it’s written “everything but leave”. When a person keeps on going, he sees this world and the extent that the Creator gave us specifically in our time, mind, emotion and such external conditions that it’s easy for us to stay in the spiritual advancement. Because we have nowhere to run to, nowhere to escape, what can we do, what can we gain but rather how shall I say it, not a lot of strength is required in order to invest to stay in spirituality, in the spiritual process. This is why it’s not difficult, it’s not difficult. If the Creator gives us the desire, we can keep on.
47. S. (01:32:10) Why did the people of Israel suffer from the work? Why was their intention not for the sake of the Creator and from what work did they suffer that they did it for the sake of the Creator?
R. The children of Israel suffered from the work because they very much wanted to come out of in order to receive and they couldn’t, and the Creator hardened them. He didn’t give them such an opportunity to come out because He needed to develop a big deficiency in them and correctly aim to spirituality and when this deficiency had reached the correct state both by quantity and quality, they came out of Egypt.
48. S. (01:33:13) It’s written in 208 “and that the people of Israel’s sighed from the work” and they sighed is that the meeting they didn’t have the forces to overcome the forces of Pharaoh or they didn’t have the strength to turn to the Creator to change the disasters that people of Israel are seeing inside and out?
R. We will see this on the path; it’s pretty complicated.
49. S. (01:33:46) In the system of connection between us in the ten is there not only good but also bad?
R. That depends on the person.
50. S. (01:34:02) How do we overcome the suffering that we’re feeling from not being capable of working in order to bestow?
R. I don’t think it’s such a problem because if you couldn’t overcome the suffering you would already be in order to bestow.
51. S. (01:34:28) What’s more important for me to be in love with friends or for me to want my friends to reach the love of the Creator?
R. Basically we are the ones who make it but I have to pray for the friends because that’s the best and most spiritual thing to do.
52. S. (01:35:00) What are the mitigations of the judgments? What are those sweetened judgments?
R. The mitigation of judgments is how should I say it, it’s when I wrap, envelope with the light of Hassadim my desires. That’s how I elevate them.
S. (01:35:27) Is there a moment that a person wants to leave Egypt even more because he sees that he can’t?
R. It may and it may not.
53. S. (01:35:59) why is it right to justify the Creator when we are happy and not when we aren’t happy?
R. That’s my egoistic desire, that’s how it aims me. If I feel good I’m connected to the Creator. If I feel bad, I run away from Him.
54. S. (01:36:24) What will convince us that our salvation is close and that our success is in his hands?
R. What will convince us, the friends; they should bestow upon me, influence me. Today, I don’t feel that the questions are questions, they are such in the air, not clear, not scrutinized. Whoever writes them probably doesn’t feel what he writes, he is asking but you know…during the question that you are asking something changed, then the first half of the question is not connected to the end. I’m asking the women to relate to these questions seriously, if you want me to relate to you seriously. Okay, it’s a deal? Okay, continue.
Reading Item 214 They cried and their cry came out… (01:38:03)
Item 214 (01:38:47)
55. S. (01:39:44) After we leave Egypt our prayers become true prayers or…?
R. Both are right sometimes it is sometimes it isn’t; their ups and downs.
56. S. (01:40:07) in a previous excerpt he writes that the more distant we are from Him then the vessel is more prepared to receive the lights. So, It is right to pray to the Creator that humanity will come closer, is that what will fill them up with the light?
R. Yes.
57. S. (01:40:46) Why is the basis of our work, the deficiency and then the prayer?
R. How can it be in any other way? The basis of work is the deficiency because the Creator created the deficiency. The created being is the deficiency; the Creator is wholeness. The Creator artificially created existence from absence, this deficiency, so that this deficiency will come closer to the perfection, to the wholeness, to the Creator and want to be like Him. Then you will reach the same state as the Creator, that’s the entire creation.
Reading Except 215 (01:41:44)
58. R. (01:44:10) I turn to the ones who collect these excerpts for us and I’m asking, don’t be too smart, we don’t need to be confused by such experts because there are many concepts here we’ve never interpreted, we’re not in them. That’s why this whole excerpt only confuses, it doesn’t help. So, examine more meticulously what you’re bringing to us.
Reading Except 216 (01:44:52)
Reading Except 217 (01:45:21)
59. R. (01:45:56) Meaning whatever we cry out, pray and ask for help we get it back from the Creator as a spiritual force that clothes in us and from that, the soul that we eventually discover is made, the force of bestowal that will settle in us and be revealed in us.
60. S. (01:46:28) I want to be more precise on the appeal to the Creator that he wrote here about the outcry.
R. We’re not yet going into that. We can’t yet discern these things. They have to be clarified inside man and if you’re not in it you’re not. That’s why I’m not in favor of these excerpts that have been brought to us and especially from The Book of Zohar. The Book of Zohar is speaking about people who are already inside this world of spiritual emotions and they have a different language. They speak differently, they know what they’re talking about, we don’t yet know. You see it’s as if I would take you to a company of musicians and they are talking in all this musical language and all these things, their whole speech is about that and I don’t, I may sit among them but I have no interest in it. I don’t understand it. I cannot hear it. I’m not in it so how will that help me? We have to reach a state where whatever we are talking about whatever the text, whatever the text speaks about is where we are and we can only be there through Rabash, maybe a little bit through Baal HaSulam but Rabash is our bridge, the only connector between our state and the spiritual state.
S. Although these are really high excerpts about different prayers, sometimes you can simply ask from the Creator kind of like nudge Him. Sometimes you can turn to Him from the depths of your heart and so how nevertheless to come to a deep request to the Creator? To truly ask?
R. A true prayer is the most simple prayer that comes from the bottom of the heart, that’s it, and the most simple. Even a more simple way is to cry, when a person bursts with tears he has no words so he cries and that’s the real prayer
61. S. (01:49:30) The last excerpt that was read, Rabash writes in the singular language. Does that mean that each of us has personal responsibility?
R. Yes.
Reading Except 218 (01:49:52)
62. R. Meaning, things should be very simple, the main thing is to be clear to the person himself in which way he turns to the Creator and in what way he wants to receive it from the Creator, has he received it or not. After all the confusions and the long path that we go through, ultimately it’s executed in a simple way. We demand from the Creator to give us the force of bestowal. We have to receive it, that’s all in all, our entire desire, just this once we want to receive now we want to bestow. If we don’t want to bestow, give us the desire to bestow so that we will cry and want to bestow, the desire is also received from you, this is how we gradually come through such few questions. These stages are not long, when we come from the beginning of the deficiency, the beginning of the question until the true question, the final one.
63. S. (01:52:22) The Creator is in the connection between us, so how should we feel the friend’s desire so that we can see the Creator in both receiving and bestowal?
R. We need to fill the desire of the friend with love. Together all of us will fill the desires of us all and then with certainty it will be the desire of the Creator and the Creator will be revealed in it.
64. S. (01:53:08) Sometimes Rabash writes that in a way that takes months and years and he still doesn’t understand the question, why is it so, and does Rabash do it with full intention?
R. We cannot ask why it takes so long for a person to advance into spirituality. It depends on his soul, it could be that he is in a soul that is still awaiting for the other souls that need to join it and then they breach forward. It’s like I’m building a house and they brought me now to the house windows, but the walls aren’t built yet. So what do I need the windows yet, so the windows are standing on the side and I am now busy erecting the walls and so on meaning it all goes according to order and therefore it could be that very high souls and very unique and special but they are still awaiting. Like that
S. So what am I supposed to understand from that?
R. You need to understand that you need to be concerned with everyone and by that you are surely implementing yourself in the correct and right way. That’s it there is nothing for you to wait, help everyone and that is your work and don’t ask about yourself you have the possibility to do for everyone let’s go, that’s the work that’s your correction.
65. S. (01:55:23) The friends are in the heart and still there’s some kind of screen or difference between me and the friends, I can’t, I want to ask if this is correct, I can’t feel that I’m with them, it is as if I’m aside or they’re aside is this correct?
R. That’s correct and what to do
S. It’s always as if the mother is taking care of the children, she’s not one of the children, it’s the same if you would annul before the bigger ones you’re not one of them you’re always aside.
R. You have to think how you’re causing advancement for them, how you’re bringing that to them just like you said about the mother and the children, for you to be engaged toward them just like a mother is toward their children, care for them as much as possible.
S. It turns out that there’s the ten and there’s you, it turns out that there’s the ten and there’s you and it doesn’t connect. It is the same when I turn to the Creator and there is the Creator and I have to recall there is a ten, it does not connect into one.
R. Are you asking how to skip over the gap between you and others, between you and the Creator?
S. Without your actions your questions won’t be correct.
R. When it will happen it will happen, that’s enough just work and then you can ask and it will surely be better.
66. S. (01:57:36) I wanted to scrutinize about your relation to the excerpts from the Zohar so we won’t be confused, it’s not that you’re saying we shouldn’t read the Zohar because of a personal reason or just because they’re not right for this lesson right?
R. Relatively yes, the problem is we are using in the lesson in a very small vocabulary which we have from the Rabash Articles and a little from Baal HaSulam but in those words we understand one another, we connect to one another and this is how we advance. Whereas if you go to the Zohar it is a very rich language and it’s very distant from Rabash, even from Baal HaSulam which we are accustomed to his style.
Therefore we are confused in that I am not certain how well the translators can translate it correctly and then we don’t feel in those verses something that’s close to us. Even though, God forbid, I’m not talking about the Zohar itself, who could say something about the Zohar? About our understanding, our limitations and therefore when we take excerpts we need to take such excerpts that for sure in them there won’t be words that are not known to us, that we are not acquainted with that will confuse us, those texts are not big ones but rather 5/6 lines is what’s good and that’s it no more than that. Therefore I see that there is starting to be a little bit of a wildness going on here in the collection of the verses that’s why I wanted to stop that, that’s why I mentioned it.
S. You also recommended once that a person should look for excerpts to read of course out of what we learn and Baal HaSulam, Rabash and Zohar you said it should touch a person’s heart, be emotional?
R. Please do that.
S. I’m saying that during the lesson, if before I go to sleep I read Zohar or Psalms, this is emotional for me, that is okay right?
R. Yes I would recommend articles of Baal HaSulam or Shamati, that is the main thing, all of that literature of ours, Psalms, Zohar, please, it is before you.
67. S. (02:01:11) In order to reach the Creator a person should cry out, what is this outcry, it’s not our usual crying right?
R. Crying means despair, being helpless, not being able to reach something on his own, to attain something that he really wants, he has one very strong desire and he can be implemented. Realize it and then he breaks into an outcry. It is a sign of weakness on the one hand and on the other hand it is a very great deficiency, a strong deficiency, a strong deficiency, a strong weakness.
Reading 219 (02:02:03)
Reading 220 (02:03:34)
68. R. (02:04:43) I see that everyone is already accustomed to such things very well. We will continue.
Reading 221 (02:04:55)
69. R. (02:07:11) Now we will do a workshop. What question do we want to do a workshop on? Please vote.
70. S. (02:07:53) I have a question about this excerpt. Maybe we can talk about it: how to reach such a deficiency that the only thing we will lack is that ability to bestow to the Creator?
R. Yes, that’s the correct question: how to come to a deficiency to bestow to the Creator only. That is one thing, the second thing?
71. S. (02:08:28) How not to be despaired or confused if we do not find the right intention in order to bestow?
R. Also correct. Good. That is relevant.
72. S. (02:08:51) Of all the lessons we are having and all the meetings we are having, what are we still missing in order to come to the question, like the question to bestow to the Creator?
R. Okay.
73. S. (02:09:18) How do we help each other open our hearts to feel each other in the deepest way?
R. Nice.
74. S. (02:09:51) What to ask the Creator to come to the correct outcry?
R. Okay. So you heard, what are we choosing? What questions?
75. S. (02:10:25) How can we ask today how can we reach a true outcry for salvation today? How can we reach a true outcry for salvation?
R. Nice question.
S. How can we awaken the world Kli for an outcry? How do we prepare ourselves to come out of Egypt?
R. So in short what are we doing? Where is the group that is always there, maybe the focus group? What question are we choosing for a workshop?
S. I like the question about the heart of the friends.
WSQ: (02:11:55) How can we help each other to feel each other in the most deep way in the most profound way? How to help one another in the deepest possible way so we can help each other feel each other in the deepest possible way? So everyone is talking, whoever has a true solution, not just words but feels that is the true solution, so please put your hand up, question mark up?
WSQ If I were to depict, in the place of the Creator, a friend, how would I talk to the friend?
