Passover – Selected Excerpts from the Sources. (Men’s Work to Women’s Work #98)

1.Rav’s Introduction (00:25): Yes, we are indeed already entering this scrutiny of what is the work when a person advances in the study in the implementation of the wisdom of Kabbalah and here he’s going through a very special phase, very unpleasant where he discovers that he is in exile from spirituality. Previously he also thought he was in exile from spirituality. What does he have? Is he in spirituality? No, he doesn’t feel that he’s there. Where are the upper worlds here, where are the souls, where are all the forces? Nothing, but now he begins to see what kind of concealment it talks about. If previously he thought that it was hidden from his senses now he begins to detect that it is talking about something new, something else. That it is talking about a concealment from his special tools of perception which are called the soul.

He doesn’t feel them, he does not depict them within him but gradually it somehow emerges out of a very special perception that is called concealment. The work, how to dig out this perception, how to reveal it inside of it just like you are digging in the soil, in the ground. This is the work that we have to do. Only as a result of it do we come to the revelation of the Creator to the created being which is actually the real wisdom of Kabbalah. Therefore I think that we should read again the part about the hard labor. Let’s go over it and continue in our direction. These excerpts are very important. This is where we are right now so when several people wrote to me yesterday and also when I heard what they were saying, I saw that it would not harm us to read these excerpts again.

2. S. (03:40) Can I ask about your introduction?

R. For what?

S. You said that we have to dig like in the work in the ground, in the soil. Where to dig? What are we looking for?

R. In our hearts and intellect but first in our feelings and in these feelings when we can detect them as something new that comes from between us to our will to receive and our desire to bestow. If there should be. Out of this we discover where we are and we are nearing the Creator in our hard labor. What should we do in order to reach the work of the Creator? The revelation of the Creator? Basically what you are asking is in these excerpts, so please.

Excerpt 94 (04:54) “And the Egyptians enslaved Israel…”

3. R. (05:25) Like a regular person and all of his life according to his structure he has nothing else, yes.

Reader continues: (05:36): “and this is called a soft mouth…”

4. R. (05:50) We said that from that moment onward a collision begins between the work in order to bestow and the work in order to receive. You can do all kinds of actions but the intention to receive or to bestow divides these actions exactly into two. There is the holy work which is in order to bestow and the work that we can call not holy which is in order to receive and a person cannot perform actions in order to bestow according to his nature, it is not even an option for him. He doesn’t even know what it is about and therefore people who are told to do this, do that, perform all kinds of action that will promote you they do it but they continue to be in the intention to receive.

Reader continues: (07:05) “It follows that with these words they caused…”

5. R. (07:30) Here they are perplexed because the intention to bestow they cannot have, they cannot do it. Maybe they do think that they are aiming to bestow but it is nothing, it is because we decided that we are in it but in truth there is no work in this, there’s no real work in this.

Excerpt 95 (08:12) “The Egyptians imparted upon them thoughts that….”

6. R. (08:47) In other words everything depends on the intention but the minute I think about the intention my actions become difficult to because it’s connected to the intention and if during the act I have to maintain an intention to bestow then it is already not for my own benefit and then I cannot work with my own qualities, my own desires, my own intentions, I have no vessels here. I have no tools. So to work for the sake of someone else, another person or for the sake of the Creator which is actually the same, outside of me, I can’t. What do we do?

Reader continues: (09:33) “it follows that a soft mouth means that…”

7. R. (09:53) They do not need to worry about the intention to receive, to bestow if you decide that it is in order to bestow, it is in order to bestow and the rest will fall into place. It’ll be okay. With these arguments the Egyptians were making their lives bitter with hard work, meaning if a person sees that he is nevertheless in the intention to receive and his actions are actions, in the hands and in the legs, there is no difference with the actions he does with the intention to receive or to bestow. So what is happening here, it will be easier to advance in the Holy work the Egyptians say if you do it without digging into your intention, meaning the advancement is not into the depth of the intention the advancement is in the actions. Perform your actions more accurately, more broadly and it will be okay. In actions we see that there are many things but in intentions, when each one pokes inside of himself, what he is in and for whom and for what, there everyone can be confused and make mistakes. With these complaints the Egyptians made the lives of Israel bitter, meaning those who intend directly to the Creator. So they were making their lives bitter with hard work for they would always explain to Israel that the work of Israel is called hard work and that it is not for them. Meaning just do actions and the intention will come later. We see that by this the separation between the wisdom of Kabbalah and all kinds of other methods, wisdoms. In other methods there is a difference in customs, in actions. Whereas in the wisdom of Kabbalah the emphasis is only on the intention.

8. S. (12:52) With one action to come closer to each other, to connect. Inside of this action, what is the scrutiny of the intention that we have to make?

R. We need to try to do things that scrutinize, support, help us scrutinize and polish our intention, that is the whole purpose of the action because we’re in this world, in this imaginary world, a world that is very special. Meaning in a very special state that is given to us, we are given images and pictures that we feel and it is all in order to help us hone in and polish and build the right intention. In the end it is between us to all of reality and to the Creator as the source of all reality and therefore all of our whole work is mainly in intentions.

S. So we have one action which is the act of connection.

R. Yes.

S. Inside of this act of connection what should we dig into? What kinds of intentions should we scrutinize?

R. To what extent are actions, if you are asking about the action, to what extent this act supports achieving the intention to bestow. That is it. To what extent we, through all kinds of activities, work, to what extent it supports it. Normally this is where a person begins to feel how much his actions and intentions are truly in different worlds because in his actions he is in the corporeal world and in his intention he should be in the spiritual world and it is difficult for him to seemingly be between the two worlds until he begins through his intention to also sanctify his actions and see his action as a spiritual act and then he enters such a perception where he truly is in the spiritual world.

S. So we have one action to connect?

R. One action to connect.

S. In it we scrutinize two intentions?

R. Yes.

S. What are the two?

R. Either we don’t really talk about the act of connection itself, we talk about it a little bit as it is customary for example in all kinds of religions, in Judaism too and that is it. Mainly we study the details that we have in the acts of the commandments, the customs etc. and the wisdom of Kabbalah teaches us that the most important is to scrutinize the intention, what are you drawn to? Where are you aiming?

S. I do not understand because our action is one, to connect.

R. Yes this is the act that assists in scrutinizing the intention.

S. In scrutinizing the intention, what is the correct intention and the incorrect intention inside the action of connection? We don’t have a thousand actions, only one, to connect. In it, what should we scrutinize? What is the intention we are after?

R. That I’m doing it for the sake of another from the love of the people to the love of the Creator.

S. Compared not for the sake of who? What is the wrong intention in connection from which I have to run away? What is it?

R. For the sake of my own will to receive and because in this case I am willing to connect.

9. S. (17:51) The schematic that we see is that the intention begets an action and then we take this action and we wrap it once more inside the intention and then together it is called connection, can we define it like this?

R. Yes you can put it this way for now. It’ll change several times but for the time being it is fine.

10. S. (18:30) To continue the question about the only action in bestowal, practically, simply speaking daily, it is the effort in self annulment? Did I understand correctly?

R. This is basically all our work, generally speaking because we’re all from the will to receive and to the extent that we can direct our will to receive in order to bestow then the will to receive develops in us more and more meaning becomes revealed more and more so that we will invert it with the aim to bestow. The will to receive itself can only grow, open up in us in each one of us and in all of us together but we must direct it through the intention to bestow. If the will to receive opens up, just opens up, just develops then it opens up on the corporeal level the still, vegitative and animate levels and if we want to develop it on the human level the speaking level then we first have to come to the intention to bestow and then to the extent of our intention to bestow in each one of us, the will to receive will begin to develop according to our intention to bestow.

S. As long as I did not make those efforts in annulment it turns out that I cannot understand at all what is going on with my intention?

R. Yes. Here we have to try to work on the intention and at the same time we have to try to work on the connection. That the connection will also reveal to us possibilities for intentions.

S. Can we say that as a result of those actions what we call love between us, love itself is not necessarily an action but more of an impression from these actions?

R. Yes, correct.

11. S. (21:20) What allows us to overcome the fear of hard labor?

R. I do not think that there is fear here really. We do not understand what to do. We are perplexed, bewildered and the children of Israel sighed from the work as it is written about what they felt in Egypt. It is hard work and we don’t know what, basically it is difficult because we do not have the tools in our hands. We do not feel the reins by which to direct the horse. We cannot move forward because we are seemingly in a reality where there is some reality between us, there are connections, I see faces of people, of friends, there’s this study and all kinds of things that we have arranged for ourselves but there’s some reality that is hidden, it is concealed. We do not feel that we are connected or disconnected. We do not understand what network of forces we are in, what influences us and what doesn’t. A part of reality is concealed from us and we cannot compliment it and this is why we are, we just have no perception. Bit by bit. There’s a reason why I wanted to come back to it because we have to advance towards it in several phases, in several attempts.

12. S. (23:37) Why is it more important to work on the intention then on the action?

R. The act itself, you can do whatever you want. You can organize for yourself an environment that will force you to act even if previously you didn’t want to do it or could not do it. All of our spiritual work is only the intention and this is what is really called Adam, man. Adam which is Domeh, similar to the Creator, is a will to receive that has the intention to bestow upon others just as the Creator has only the intention to bestow but you could say that the Creator is complete, He has no problems to bestow Kabbalists say about this that it is true that the Creator is complete, He’s perfect and he has no intention to receive whatsoever but that is not the reason why he gives. It is his nature.

We can and we must, we are obligated from above through Providence to come to the same state as the Creator where we only bestow even though our nature is opposite. We are created beings, receivers. So let’s learn how to be similar to the Creator and in this way we will be called Adam, man and the act is measured only according to the intention and not according to the action. In my action I can give to another, robbers come to me, they approach me on the street, they pull out a knife and tell us give us what you have in your pocket so I give it to them. Is this regarded as giving? It is not regarded as giving but in the act itself I did give, in my intentions of course I did not. So our action is measured by the intention according to the intention so here comes the question how can we change our intention. So the wisdom of Kabbalah teaches us how to change our intention in all of our actions and then we come to understand that even though I give or receive, it doesn’t matter what action I do either one, I only have two, to receive or to give so I have to be in constant giving. Meaning always acting for the sake of others. This is what it is about.

13. S. (26:57) My question is, Pharoah is a very good helper, even though things come in the picture in the negative matter for me to prepare how I’m going to present this photo, Pharaoh is a great helper. I do not like it, it could be very scary many times but it truly brings me a deficiency for the goal. How can we not be scared of what we see in our connection and on top of it bless it, Creator thank you for giving me this state so that I can bestow to my friends.

R. Ask the question again but make it brief.

S. How to turn the revelation of Pharaoh into a force, to use it to bestow to my friends without being scared of the situation?

R. Well that is what the whole of the wisdom of Kabbalah is, that is what it does. How do we use our ego, our will to receive, which constantly grows in order to turn it to work in order to bestow in other words this is what you are saying, this is what we are learning. The question is exactly asking what the wisdom of Kabbalah does.

14. S. (28:56) During the day throughout all the actions that we do I try to analyze whether I am using the intention to receive or to bestow but it confuses me. I’m not certain that I’m doing it with the right intention and this causes me to leave this analysis. So what to do so as to not abandon the analysis?

R. This is why we are advancing gradually slowly where each of us has a place for even several days to seemingly exit the studying process and the changes we go through and return because this is the place where we should begin to feel, what does it mean to bestow? What does it mean in order to bestow? What exactly is a person’s division between the part that is where he sympathizes with Pharaoh, with the Egyptians with the will to receive with intention to receive and where a part of him might seemingly be peeled off from him, disconnected from him and work in order to bestow. So here it is called a Nation out of a Nation.

Meaning one Nation which is called Yashar Kel, straight to the Creator comes out from this general people, this general people, common Nation, where he feels that he is in Egypt so he feels that he’s in Egypt that’s okay, he can work according to Pharaohs orders directly just according to what he understands in his mind, in his heart. This is what he should do so that it would be for his own sake. So here we begin to divide ourselves and be in this internal split, internal bifurcation: what is for her sake and what is not for her sake. In order to receive and in order to bestow. To belong to the Egyptians or belong to the Jews. Jews, those that unite with the upper force with the force of bestowal. So here we begin to feel that there is some sort of a split, we will gradually do it.

This is the most sensitive point. I explained to you yesterday that this is the point from which the whole division between all kinds of faiths and religions and the wisdom of Kabbalah, where it emerged. Where all the belief systems and religions in humanity are all in order to receive. This is why they’re not requiring intentions to bestow, we are not insisting on them and really pressing on a person. Where is the wisdom of Kabbalah talks only about that. It does not care about actions but only about intentions and everything else, all other methods, what is important for them is the actions. We’ll talk about it but here is what is the main point of separation between spiritual work and the intention and corporeal work in the action.

15. S. (33:30) We need to correct our intention in order to do good to the friends, to the other. How do I measure myself at each moment that I’m actually doing good to the friends because my intention is concealed, no one reveals my intention but how can I know that I’m doing good to the friends?

R. Ask yourself every time, that’s the answer.

16. S. (34:04) A question from my ten, normally all the friends in the group have a bestowal intent, what is the difference between bestowal intention in this hard work and the normal bestowal intention?

R. The regular intention to bestow is when you bestow in order to receive and many times in our lives we give and receive give and receive but by giving we also, we are certain that we get a profit some benefit that we will get in return for it and that is why we give otherwise we would not be able to give. Look at how children grow. The more they grow the more they’re willing to give because their intellect builds such systems where through acts of giving they’re actually receiving. So do not look at the act itself, don’t look at the act of giving but look at the intention and you will see that all of us are receivers and if we have no justification, no confidence that we are receiving then we cannot give. Unless we have no choice. This is where we split. If someone comes to me with a gun and tells me give me what you have in your pocket so I give it but I give it in return for my life. In other words we cannot give without a return, a reward, always, at work, at home on the street everywhere.

If I make a concession or even give something to someone it is because it is clear to me that somehow I will get some benefit from it. Therefore all of our works with one another, all our operations, our activities with each other is called go and live off of each other because by this we are going to receive from others and never give to others, that is it. This is the whole difference between people, a person is more developed, less developed, a courteous, kind person or a crass person but all of them basically make a calculation over the profitability of whether it is worthwhile for me. Everyone is an egoist so this is how we advance. When we come to the wisdom of Kabbalah it is completely different, here it’s a problem. This is why you see how many people get into the wisdom of Kabbalah, only few.

17. S. (37:16) In order not to get into the circle of reason, of intellect in our actions what goal should a ten set for itself?

R. If in the ten we try to scrutinize what we’re learning about in the morning lesson. This gives us enough material during the day in order to maintain the same line and so from one lesson to the next we will be able to advance, to develop ourselves, this is the meaning of advancing. Developing the connections between us and in this way we will come to a state where the web of connection between us that we will build according to the lessons, gradually then we will be able to construct the system called the upper world which does not exist in and of itself but we construct it in the connections between us. According to the connections that will form between us, the upper light will influence it and bestow to it the abstract light and it will enter these connections and then build in each one of us and all of us together a system of connection that is already called the upper world and in the system of connection between us we will begin to discover Partzufim, worlds, everything. It is all to the degree that we wish to connect in order to bestow according to the order that we have in the groups.

S. When I come to the morning lesson it is as if I’ve run away from the corporal life so it really does give me some benefit so that too is my will to receive so I will never come to give. I can’t understand how I will be able to do it and really help my friends and support them because I am constantly only receiving

R. The fact that you are receiving from the group that’s a certainty but what are you giving? What are you giving? Explain to us, do you do something by giving?

S. I try to do what I’m told to do. I disseminate a little bit, I conduct the meetings of our ten I come to the morning lesson every morning. This is what I do. As I understand this is what I should do.

R. Okay. Listen to what we are discussing and try to implement it, that’s how it shall be.

18. S. (40:51) In the last half hour you said twice that if someone approaches a person with a gun they take his wallet and you give the wallet but you don’t really give it. I’m not giving because I’m not enjoying. The one who took it from me enjoys himself so the question is, should I make it so when someone comes to me to take my wallet away, should I enjoy it? because life is such that people come to you and take away from you and you pay so this pressure…?

R. What you are saying is entirely incorrect. Entirely incorrect. I do not have anything to say about what you were saying. It is incorrect. The fact that they take for me I feel that they take and here’s the question if I’m giving because they will ensure that I will stay with my life because it is more valuable, then I’m giving. It is like a trade if I give something to the salesman then the salesman gives me something like in the store. Same thing on the street if he’s telling you I’m going to take your life you will not pay what you have in exchange for your life what you have in your pocket? Take out your wallet and give me. That is like buying, we buy our lives with that.

19. S. (42:41) The will to receive is always there when we are able to come to a clean intention without…

R. Repeat please.

S. Our ego constantly hides the will to receive. I’m asking will we at some point be able to reach a clean intention to give without losing the awareness that I exist and live now?

R. You are confused and with the help of the reforming light it will become clear to you where you are and where you have to come to but for now let’s keep going.

20. S. (43:50) In this search after the right intention to be in connection with the friends, sometimes we have this great emptiness we’re not giving, we are not receiving, we don’t even know where we are. Why is it like that and how do we get past it and work in bestowal and advancing? I don’t know if I’m clear.

R. Let me tell you we need to scrutinize these things all the time. The work of scrutinizing the work of correction and the work of fulfillment, these are the works that we have to do from now until the end of correction. These are the works and we have to learn from our lives from our practical experience how to do it. Scrutinies, connections, corrections, fillings, fulfillments these are the works we have to do.

21. S. (45:27) Can you please tell us when and how we hear the Egyptians that speak to us with softer words?

R. Our ego speaks to us and this is the meaning of the Egyptians talk to us. Our ego, our general ego is the Pharaoh.

22. S. (46:00) Can we use this trick that in the end we relinquish the love of the Creator to the friends instead of receiving it for ourselves? Before I came to the wisdom of Kabbalah this light didn’t give me pleasure so what am I afraid of? What am I afraid of right now, if I didn’t have it before then I will not have it in the future.

R. That is not right, that is incorrect. The fact that I’m passing the Creator’s light to the friends I’m receiving this light I accumulate it inside of me. It exists there, it does not disappear. Each and every light that I distribute that I give out when I connect to the friends when I help them receive it, and get filled by this light we are actually filling the Creator. It is the reservoir of our general soul. Where is it? It is in the Creator. All of our corrected desires in order to bestow, by that we are actually building the Creator, you have made me. It is not like we are passing it and we have nothing left. We are passing these things from in order to receive to in order to bestow and then it is kept and it exists from now until eternity

23. S. (47:47) It turns out that if I try to build intention and I speak to Pharaoh, how do I find the point of Moses?

R. We will find out along the way. I don’t see yet that we are lacking it. You are asking from the point of view of the study and not from, based on the actual necessity.

24. S. (48:28) In religion there are many activities that regular people call them commandments and Kabbalists call them customs. What turns a custom, let’s say coming to the morning lesson from a custom to a commandment?

R. We come to the morning lesson in order to perform the act of connection, the act of connection. Therefore this is called a Mitzvah, a commandant according to the wisdom of Kabbalah the greatest commandment because we connect ourselves with the hope of connecting in this way all the broken pieces of the soul of Adam HaRishon.

25. S. (49:17) How can I constantly control my own intention?

R. It’s a problem. It’s a problem. We constantly have to do these exercises, how to live inside of the intention and not inside the desire. To rise above the desire in intention with the correct intention to rise above the desire for that, it means that I have to constantly exist in the friends inside the Creator, inside the group, then in this way I will be properly connected to the source and I have to organize myself, arrange myself to have a tendency, an inclination towards the center of the ten and to the Creator and to constantly try as much as possible to be there to enter there to bestow there to cause connection there and so on and so forth.

26. S. (50:55) We hear from you that the whole work is to resemble the Creator in the intention so how can we work with intention, test it, if it is concealed even from me?

R. I have to constantly try and check myself if my actions are in order to bestow. When I’m in a ten, can I do it? When I’m doing all of these actions of connections between us, can I do it? So there’s an action, that is why our world exists, it was revealed in this way corporeally. It’s not that everything remained in spirituality but in the descent from above down we come to a state which we describe as corporeal which means that it exists but that too doesn’t exist it’s called the imaginary world but it exists in our senses but that’s specifically from arranging these senses correctly, by doing that, we can rise to more internal senses, spiritual senses and this is our work. It turns out that the work in the ten, when we come closer to one another, in this way we come to spiritual corrections.

27. S. (52:46) What is the benefit or what is the purpose of this self-scrutiny about where is my intention? Why is it not better for me to busy myself with what is happening with him? I see that all these scrutinies about where am I, where is my intention? Nothing comes out of it, the ego always twists you, manipulates you.

R. That is incorrect because if I’m talking about the friends, how can I talk to them? They exist in my perception so how do I relate to them, how do I arrange them, how do I speak to them, what are they? It is all inside of me. My attitude towards them determines how I, my attitude towards them determines how I will arrange myself, my vessel. I should arrange my vessel according to how we see them, how I see them, I adhere to them. I do not change them, I change myself in order to adhere to them. In this way I see that my world is changing, my perception is changing. I am changing entirely and it changes according to those forms the Creator depicts before me, presents to me and accordingly I adapt myself to those forms that the Creator places before me which is the group. When I come to adhesion in the group I format myself but I have to constantly think about me, that I am doing these corrections. I do not demand the group to change. I expect to change until this group will appear to me as ten complete Sefirot.

S. But we learn that where a person thinks that is where he is so why is it not better for me to try to constantly return to a thought about them instead of about me?

R. But who is returning to them? The way I perceive them, it is in my own vessel so how can I arrange myself correctly in order to perceive them correctly? It can’t be one, the form that I feel is made up of two: me and the other. How do we come to a state where me and the other become as one, where I perceive them without any disturbance.

S. When should we, or should we at all, try to work in such a way in a we kind of form for example when we build a prayer we build it as a ten. There isn’t me and others, there is we.

R. Right, correct because we wish to connect to the Creator so relative to Him we should arrange ourselves as one.

S. This we, how should it be? The thought should become we, not me, not they but us, right?

R. Of course during the prayer it is a must otherwise it will not be received there will be no connection between us and the Creator.

S. Concerning the intention and the action I want to understand when there’s an act it is very clear that there’s intention that should be scrutinized. For example, previously in Passover it was very obvious with all our preparatory work and Rav explained how every grain of coffee you can feel the intention through it but without actions when we are, most of the day, we’re in this virtual way and we meet maybe two three four or five times a day but beyond it, during the day when I’m only thinking what does it mean that I’m building and intention, above what kind of action?

R. On the act of speaking about the connection. We now wish to connect meaning we need to see ourselves as more connected, what for? In what way? What do we wish to attain through this connection? What do we want to discover as a result of the connection between us? This is our work where everything that we have done previously in actions where we had all these preparation for the meals and all those actions together, there was such a time where this work in physical action was important so we would connect ourselves so we would discover our center and so on and so forth.

Now we are in a more advanced state where it is not so important to us where indeed most of our friends are outside of our corporeal framework, as in Petach Tikvah, in this house, this building so we don’t do anything here. Why don’t we do anything here, how can I perform any actions here inside the center if 90% of our friends are outside of me, are outside of this place. We try to perform these actions more internally, more spiritually where in our desires we have to be connected in our intentions. How to be aimed in our unity and towards the Creator. Where is he? Is he somewhere in the building? Somewhere on the planet? Of course all of those things are virtual and this is how we will connect. This time we’ll get a virtual connection that is even stronger than what we had before then the physical connection and we will try to feel in it, to locate in it, this spiritual adhesion between us and the Creator and it will truly be the exodus from Egypt because we will come out of our corporeal depiction into a spiritual feeling.

S. That’s clear Rav regarding the act of connection that we’re in right now, virtual, that is clear, I’m asking when a person is not in some act of connection he is in his daily routine what does it mean that he’s scrutinizing or putting on the intention?

R. It says where a man’s heart is, that is where he is. A person is where his heart is so I don’t understand what you’re saying, a mother whose baby is at home and she worries about him, her heart is in him, in the baby and not where she is, let’s say at work.

S. Okay I just thought that intention is something that dressed over and act while we are in this world because in my thoughts I can be with them but I thought it was called a prayer.

R. No, no. Don’t divide it in such a way it’s enough for us to have this intention without an action you see where we’re coming to a world that will be made entirely of intentions, a world that is more and more virtual we’ll connect in a cloud as they say.

28. S. (01:01:45) When you interpreted the excerpt it really was very moving about how you said the Egyptians tell you you have no chance, you’ve tried many times, you just do the act and that’s it. When we meet at the lesson on Zoom, whatever, we try to arrange the intention beforehand we read an excerpt and we talk so beyond that is it just about renewing the intention as much as possible?

R. Yes, as much as possible to understand that our connection is virtual it’s not physical that’s one thing that our connection is in order to bestow to one another as much as each one can take out of himself something for the benefit of the other and in these insights, these tendencies, we connect between us our circle and this is called the beginning of the soul.

S. Our conclusion when we come out of this lesson is that we want to fight as much as possible for quantity and quality?

R. Yes, ultimately, yes. We are in, we are going through very important, very critical states. It’s the beginning of the general soul so everything that we’re going to talk about later is going to be based on this point that we are building. This is called in memory of the exodus from Egypt.

29. S. (01:03:32) Maybe you can help us scrutinize, today you said twice when friends asked you. Today friends asked twice how to work with the intention and I was really surprised by your answer. You said constantly be in the friends, dissolve in the friends, be incorporated in the friends. How is this possible? It seems like it’s the work in the heart?

R. This is your heart. This is exactly your heart when you connect with the friends and they have a desire, you have a common desire, this is exactly called the heart.

S. That is exactly what I’m trying to understand. What is the work with the intention, the work in the heart? To dissolve in the friends to disappear in them?

R. Yes. You will revolve around this point for years until you hear eventually that there’s no other choice but we have to connect our hearts. Where all the hearts each and every heart, we must connect the hearts together. A heart is an internal concept where all our tendencies, our yearnings, my desires, my intentions, it’s all, I want to connect it to theirs and present it to the Creator. This is our work. This has to be in my head in my heart as a permanent disposition. Everyone together and to the Creator until we feel that he accepts it, he clothes in it and he is revealed.

S. If that’s the case then checking the intention is it checking if I was incorporated in the vessels of the friends and I feel their points in the heart?

R. Exactly, exactly how you were saying it. I need to check my connection to the friends in this way.

30. S. (01:06:32) When can I discern or check my intention to know if it’s in order to bestow?

R. Not now, it’s not now, not yet. I know that it’s probably not in order to bestow because if it were then I would discover something spiritual in it so there is no other test here rather the moment that I reveal to some extent my attitude my connection to the Creator this means that I connect to the ten and I build a Kli, a vessel and my vessel is somehow aimed at the Creator and it comes in some form of it, equivalent, even Nefesh, something small. It’s all according to the outcomes.

S. Previously you answered to Spain that the order of the work is a scrutiny and then action, so where is the scrutiny of the intention before the action?

R. We are constantly in a scrutiny of what do I want out of my life? Like it or not we constantly scrutinize, what do I want? Maybe I don’t understand your question.

S. Do I first connect or do I first scrutinize my intention?

R. This goes hand-in-hand intermittently, both. I connect and I scrutinize and I scrutinize and I connect. I would say it’s not like there are breaks in it, it constantly works in me even when I’m unaware of it.

31. S. (01:09:23) You just said that scrutinizing the intention changes my perception so again it’s all from me, so the question is my poking into my intention, how does it help my friends?

R. It has to be as one, it has to be as one. Where, what I do in my correction, I don’t correct myself personally I correct the ten. My correction is how much I am incorporated in them and how together we build the vessel for the revelation of the Creator. Here the individual and the collective connect because by myself I cannot attain anything which is why I want to be connected with them. When I work on them, on the connection with them, I invite the reforming light, it works on us, it connects us and then I come to a state where my attainment, my success depends on their success and vice versa and we become as one. There’s no difference between them and me, whether we all work as a single soul and that is how we advance.

S. In other words, scrutinizing the intention helps me build the connection with the friends?

R. Of course, that’s our entire work.

32. S. (01:14:26) I hope it’s the right question there about the pirate and I’m giving him the thing. All my life is one big robbery, the Creator is taking everything, he’s taking my life also. Is there a chance that the Creator will stop robbing me and I’ll start robbing Him?

R. Try, then tell us.

S. How do we come to such a state? He controls everything. He’s taking everything from me.

R. Pray, ask.

32. S. (01:15:09) There is a certain expression that came from you that we will go around this point for a long time until we come to the necessity for connection, so actually all the exile in Egypt is a process of scrutinizing this intention of ours?

R. Yes, it’s only to scrutinize our intention. There are no more than intentions.

33. S. (01:15:41) You said to connect our hearts to the friends until we feel that the Creator is revealed. I’m asking myself what is this? Okay so I have the intention, so what? What about the work itself, what do I need to do? I’m starting to think of intention and then all of a sudden there is spirituality and everything. Where’s the work itself? Where is the annulment and many things around that?

R. Everything is in the intention.

S. What does that mean?

R. Try it and you’ll see everything is in the intention.

S. The intention itself, without the work before a friend?

R. The intention is the work.

S. And what is the work itself? What do I need to do physically?

R. Physically? Do whatever the group demands.

S. Nullify before it?

R. Whatever it demands. How should I know, yes?

35. S. (01:16:42) Before we connect our hearts and inclinations and bring them and present them to the Creator. It’s not quite clear our hearts are egoistic, our inclinations, our yearnings, everything is egoistic. What does it mean that all our action? Can you detail what it means to connect our inclinations, our yearnings and present them to the Creator?

R. We have been talking for a long time about us all being required to connect to a ten, to a small group and everything we do in the group, our goal is to adhere to the Creator, for the Creator to dwell in us to be revealed in us and do whatever he needs in us. A vessel for his revelation. The vessel for his revelation has to be in bestowal like Him, to the extent we can bestow to each other and to the Creator to that extent, the Creator, according to the equivalence of form, will bestow in us and we will reveal Him. That’s all our work but from this shape we must not distance ourselves we’re forgetting that this is what is required. Let us be drawn to that and then we will see what else we have to do for it to be realized and I to my beloved and my beloved to me. The whole ten to the Creator and then we will feel the Creator in the ten.

36. S. (01:18:36) A question about this Kli in which the Creator will be revealed in self annulment and mutual corrected relations, can we depict the Arvut and Shechina and the dweller that will be in it?

R. All that has to connect in one Kli, in one action, everything is revealed in connection.

S. Is this all a result of us annulling before one another?

R. Of course, yes.

S. Is the next order of things to correct first the deficiency, then the effort is self annulment and the result is feeling of love?

R. Yes, yes.

37. S. (01:19:30) How can we check our intention if you could be more precise?

R. I can’t be precise in that. It’s just that we have to try all the time to live in the intention rather than in the action itself. Our actions in spirituality can’t go beyond the intentions. If I want to give to another in spirituality this is considered giving. If I don’t want to give to the other, I can give as much as I want physically, it’s not considered giving. That’s why we have a lot of confusion and misunderstanding between spirituality and corporeality. In spirituality everything is according to the intention, in corporeality it’s all about the action. How can we elevate ourselves to such a level that we appreciate the intention as an action, that’s what’s important.

S. Is it the correct intention to listen to the lesson only for the sake of the group?

R. We have to, for the sake of the group, the sake of the Creator, the sake of the connection but for the sake of the general vessel, yes.

S. How to hear you through the unification of the intentions of the friends?

R. Try to connect first and to generate one ear, one vessel, one desire, one heart between yourselves and then you’ll hear it together.

S. Maybe we need to start the lesson when we come to that same intention?

R. Yes, that is desirable.

38. S. (01:21:46) One needs to be built so that we will be able to grasp the spiritual reality. What is that sense and how is it built?

R. One heart. Yes.

39. S. (01:22:08) Why do we get such guidance to earn from one another and not to go and bestow to one another?

R. That’s called to make a provision, a living in spirituality. The more I can bestow to others that is my living, it’s in everyone in the general vessel. The more I can bestow to them, to give to them, in them I accumulate all my spirituality in the general vessel.

S. What’s the part in me that can peel off and be in order to bestow, I don’t feel it.

R. You have to try and feel. As much as I try to build with my friends connection, within this connection, there lies the phenomenon from the actions from our attempts in spirituality.

40. S. (01:23:18) If it’s difficult for me to do corporeal actions of coming closer to a friend, in place of that I adhere to the intentions and ask for a correction there. Is that running away?

R. It is not running away but there is still no result yet. I have to feel them coming very much closer to me my friends more and more and it doesn’t matter the way they behave and it doesn’t matter how much they are not yet according to the right desire, the right intention and the right external shape. I nonetheless want to connect more and more to my heart, to bring everyone into my heart. That’s what I need to try to do every day more and more until I truly feel that only this way I am satiated, I feel good real good, why? Because I connected with all the friends with me and I care for them.

S. Does there have to be corporeal actions?

R. Corporeal actions, we need them in order to build this general Kli, the general vessel.

41. S. (01:24:56) Does the intention and action build one whole in order to come to the Creator?

R. Yes, I’ll tell you. By the way, I am very pleased from the woman. Among you there is already some internal understanding. It’s greater than the one that is in the men that is, by the nature of the woman but it happens, really. It’s nice to see that and the women are closer to the connection than the men even though it doesn’t seem to us to be that way. It is as if the men are more successful externally in connection but the women are more successful in the internal part of the connection.

42. S. (01:26:04) What happens with the intention without action in the corporeal world? An example: If a doctor wants to help and doesn’t perform his surgery?

R. First of all in our world it doesn’t work but rather we are in the world of actions and spirituality is a world of intentions. We don’t have a part in spirituality and that’s why we have all kinds of corporeal actions where we are trying to bestow upon the spiritual world, upon the intentions and that is possible, that’s how we are made. Before we want to perform some action we should try to do it in corporeality and then in spirituality. Meaning there has to be some kind of corporeal connection as well between us. Out of that we will already rise to spirituality.

S. You talked earlier about us connecting to the cloud, what is that cloud?

R. The cloud is the intention our general soul, that is how it is technically called.

43. S. (01:27:40) What’s the action that causes connection in the group?

R. What action causes Connection in the group? I can’t tell you, there are many actions that cause action in the group, the connection in the group, the rising of the group. The main thing in them is that just like now we are far away from each other but still we are connected between ourselves and we want for this connection to embrace us together and to bring us in one vessel. I’m really happy to see you here from all corners of earth.

S. (01:28:58) What needs to be more important for me, that I will feel the intention in me or the friends will feel my intention?

R. These are different things and it shouldn’t be the same. My intention, I need it in order to accumulate in this intention. I have to accumulate both with the friends and the Creator and everything together as a vessel and the light, it has to be in me all and all together. I don’t need more than that, my friends as the vessel and the Creator as the fulfillment of this vessel. That’s how I should depict reality, there is no other reality besides that.

Reading Item (01:30:00) “However they all interpret …”

44. R. (01:31:39) This excerpt we can say is not enough to read it as an excerpt. These articles come unto Pharaoh one and two, we should learn them apart as well.

Reading Item 97 (01:32:01) “We should also understand…”

45. S. (01:33:50) Is there a connection between the feeling and the intention?

R. You can say you’re feeling about each and every one, intention is also something you should say about each and every one more. The more we turn a person from all sides you’ll all see that his intentions are in order to receive, that’s how it seems to him that he’s always in the right intention meaning for himself. Even if he wants to rise above himself and be in the intentions for the sake of the Creator which is something that has to go through all the different created beings for the sake of others. As the verse goes from love of others to the love of Creator. Here is a question already: how he understands this, how he feels this, how he locates it that’s the problem. Does he really know how to do that, sort it out correctly or not?

S. The intention, I’m simply trying to understand that the intention stands on its own and it is not clear?

R. Intention is called intention of the heart, what man’s will to receive is aimed at. There is a desire and the desire is to receive, but how does a person navigate it, what does he want of what he’s doing, that is called the intention. Some people have an intention and action the same. Ordinary people or small children or animals, the still vegetative and animate, you cannot disconnect the action from the intention. You can be certain that the action is for himself, it’s the shortest path and with children they’re not complicated, he wants it for himself. He comes to you, he wants to take it from you, so he takes it and maybe he grew up a little bit so maybe he can take it and you won’t see it. Maybe he’s more complicated, he’s a grownup so he will steal. If he is more complicated he will do some actions with you and will cause you to give it to him etc. etc. The intentions are always in order to receive there is no difference there, the level of complexity for which he fills his intention. Whereas if we are reaching spirituality, we have to replace our intention so it will be in order to bestow. Here we already see it’s impossible, we haven’t yet checked it maybe, we didn’t try to overcome the intention but inverting it in order to bestow is basically our goal.

S. Will it always come with a feeling of I want to have it good or at least less suffering?

R. Well of course the intention for him is to feel good, that my will to receive will feel good directly. I need to reach a state that through the upper light I change myself in a way that I will feel good if I work for others.

S. It’s not clear how the feeling changes. If the default that I receive for myself and it’s good for me, then what changes now in the feeling that it’s good for me if I am bestowing or not receiving for myself?

R. If I’m not changing the system, I can certainly do no action that will be giving and it will be fulfilling for me. I have to change my system in a way that the more I give to others I fulfill myself and it’s not a lie, it’s simply because others become close to me and even more than what I am for myself. That it’s impossible to understand in our vessels of reception, you can’t feel it and it’s a good thing you’re asking. It’s a sign that here you have a point, that you feel that you have to understand that you have to acquire it but you haven’t yet joined it to you, and it’s nice. Good luck.

46. S. (01:39:32) It’s written something strange, that not only others can see the intention of a person but even he himself cannot see his own intention, so how to work?

R. Attach yourself to them. Only when you’re attached to the society and everyone is headed towards the goal then you can be certain that you are advancing in the right direction and your intention will be realized.

47. S. (01:40:12) Many times we say that we’re helping one another  through examples and it’s not clear, how to show examples if with the intention it is concealed?

R. You can never show your intention, you can’t show it. You may perform actions and your actions are all correct and good but your intentions are the opposite. If you look at politicians, what they’re doing, their actions are nice, they’re good, seemingly everyone is for the sake of the public, but we understand that this is not for the sake of the public it’s for the sake of themselves, they are only fooling us. This is accepted in society and we don’t even pay attention to that. Certainly only through the light that reforms will we come to a state called his mouth and heart are equal but both the desire and intention will be in the direction of bestowal.

48. S. (01:41:28) How can you scrutinize and examine our intention, it’s something we don’t know in advance, so what is the right intention?

R. We are advancing when everytime we want to come closer to each other and every time we want to connect our intentions, desires, passions together. By that we scrutinize how different we are from each other, incapable of being together meaning our intentions are for ourselves. Because if we had the same intentions even if my actions would be different, we would act together. We would work together like workers when they assemble some machine or something and each one does his part but all in all it’s together. This is why when we work, we work to feel how different we are so that we can ask the Creator to connect us together. Our work is to connect as much as we can by our forces and ultimately we discover how much we are incapable of it and this is what we are about to learn. As a result of the work in Egypt the children of Israel sighed from the work when they cried out to Pharaoh, and when they cried out to the Creator their outcry to the Creator was successful, then the Creator brings them out of Egypt. They don’t come out by their forces by their feelings or understanding because they find the compass and by the compass they know how to approach, how to walk in the spiritual realm, in what direction. Rather only by their outcry when the Creator walks before them either at night as a pillar of fire or in the daylight a cloud, that’s how they advance. We will learn that.

Reading Item 98 (01:44:24) “Men’s Work To Women’s Work…”

49. R. (01:45:43) There is a problem here, some confusion between action and the intention, here we have some disturbance on the path.

Reading Item 98 (01:45:55) “And Women’s Work with Men’s Work…” Twice

50. R. (01:47:06) This means that we have to be both in actions that bring us closer to each other to our tens and between tens to the general vessel of ours of the group, the big group Bnei Baruch. To connect our intentions and our actions as much as possible so that each one will feel that around him there’s a great mass of people. Where by that we already start accumulating forces of the masses, many people. Only this way can people, this great group come out of Egypt. When entering Egypt to spiritual work, 70 people, it’s a small minimal amount of people, a small portion. But when growing, the growing with attempts, experience, all kinds of actions of connection and lack of success Etc. They bring themselves to a state where they are already in a state of nation, a big nation, coming out of Egypt. That’s why we need here to start seeing ourselves, supporting each other, and also feeling all the tens feeling together. It’s not that I leave my ten or attach myself in a different way, no. Rather we are more and more also supported by the environment, that I’m in my ten but around me there are a hundred more tens. That’s not a problem because that’s truly the way it is. The more we feel ourselves in a big vessel, a big mass of people, the easier it will be for us, the better it is for us to come out of the state from in order to receive to in order to bestow. It doesn’t matter if there are beginners or babies or elderly, it doesn’t matter, everyone is coming out. Everyone.

51. S. (01:49:43) In this excerpt it appears that the Egyptians are trying to sell to whoever is in the work that the main thing is the intention, specifically in the place where he’s not capable of working with the intention but rather only in deeds. It seems like the Egyptians are bothering a person to overcome, not necessarily over the intentions but simply no matter whether he is trying to overcome in the intention or action. Is it right to be more precise that the Egyptians simply bother the act of overcoming?

R. Egyptians are interrupting the action of overcoming, the Egyptians interrupt the connection, by that they’re also pushing us to connect and overcome but the problem is we don’t see anywhere that there is a connection in the tens. If you look at whatever states there are, they took everything from the Torah externally, even all the religions but the concept of the ten, the quorum that exists a long time in your life, that you want to connect and by that reveal the Creator. By overcoming as a ten and around it other tens, you won’t find it, only with Kabbalists. Starting with the ten of Rabbi Shimon, the ten of Ari, the ten of Ramchal, the tens of Rabash, that’s how we see it, we won’t see more than that. There is no division to tens and there is no work in tens in any place, and in no religion. That’s a problem because specifically the connection in the work in the ten is the main work, the primary work.

S. One more thing to scrutinize, when we read about this subject, is that the Egyptians bring such a confusion to a person from all directions. It seems that the benefit is that it ultimately needs the Creator, as they say Come unto Pharaoh and also that Pharaoh brought Israel closer to the Creator. It seems that the whole work here is to just come out of trying to do it on our own, by our own forces. Rather to find a way to come to it and to use the forces of the Creator. Is this truly what the Egyptians are doing for us?

R. You are right. The Egyptians and Pharaoh are all eventually aiming us to the Creator. That is the work of Pharaoh. Who brought the people of Israel closer to their father in Heaven? Pharaoh, we truly have whole articles about that.

52. S. (01:53:07) What to answer to the Egyptians? They are saying the main thing here is the intention. What’s wrong here?

R. There is no answering the Egyptians in any way. Simply go according to the collective, the rule that I dwell amongst my own people. Only through the connection of the people can you find the right trail. Alone you can’t emerge out of the will to receive, only to connecting to others, bestowing upon them, where your bestowal will be aimed to the Creator in order to make a Kli for Him to be revealed in. By that you can bring Him contentment, that’s the work.

S. Suppose now I am saying I want to do an action of connection in the ten, then the Egyptians come but it’s all in order to receive, the main thing is the intention. There’s no point or benefit in your action, what should I do now?

R. I will correct the essence of my connection in the ten through the intention. Where the intention will be improved from in order to receive to in order to bestow. Because through the connection where we are asking for the reforming light it comes to us gradually improves the relations between us in the ten and we change, we become closer between us. Each and everyone according to his private access through the general action. You see those metronomes and they begin to work and move together where there is one force, a general force in the universe and you can’t even understand where does this come from and why does it come? Yet this happens this way, where each influences the other and we all come to one motion and why one motion, because there’s the force above that arranges them to be together. The only thing is that they need to be in motion and it doesn’t matter what motion each of them, but eventually all of them together will be incorporated.

S. If I understand this excerpt 98 correctly, they say there is no reason for you to have an emotion, just the intention. By that they weaken me, so I stopped doing actions because I am trying to do intentions and by that they cancel my work. How not to be confused?

R. They are not canceling your work in connection. All the work together is all the work in connection between us. If you take all the Commandments, all the Mitzvot of a person to the Creator and a person to his friend, they are all for the sake of connection because there is no more than that. Take all the holidays, all the actions that we have to do, it’s all in order to purify ourselves and connect with it as pure as possible of an intention.

53. S. (01:56:33) It says that the intention is concealed from a person. Would it be correct to say in order to scrutinize this, would it be correct to look at the actions of the friends and accordingly to scrutinize and to come closer to the right intention? How can I see the way of the actions of my friend?

R. No, according to the actions you see that you have to justify them as to what you see. Not necessarily that you will see their acts and their deeds in the right way. Then you need to scrutinize whether you’re seeing them in an incorrect way or that they themselves are wicked or that you’re looking at them with the eyes of a wicked.

S. If my intention is correct and I will see their actions correctly or is that not an indication?

R. It’s an indicator if your intention is correct, but how will you know if your intention is correct? If you see friends that are in the correct actions towards connection, towards support, then more than likely this is also corrected. Because anyone who negates does so with his own fall flaws.

S. If I see the actions of my friends correctly, then that is the indication of my intention?

R. It could be but I don’t know because it could be that you are just not checking, but for the time being you could be correct.

54. S. (01:58:22) What if the Egyptians interrupt the connection and we are passing some state of perplexity? How would you guide the perplexity?

R. All the doubts result in the deed and in the action. In the act of the connection all the doubts dissipate because in the intellect you cannot scrutinize anything, only through our actions.

55. S. (01:59:02) If my intention is concealed from myself how can I reach a right request?

R. You need to work in what is given to you and not what is concealed from you. Ask for your deeds, your intentions to be more and more clear and aimed towards connection. Through that for sure you will be coming closer to the Creator.

S. This means with the work, when I work I will discover my intention is wrong?

R. Of course because each time this is the form of advancement, even in our world it is like that.

56. S. (01:59:58) You said that we will reach a degree where we will be able to receive with intention of giving. Could you please give us an example, what it would be?

R. Again? How can I give an example for an intention? I’m giving you an example now, did you get it? That was an intention in order to bestow. No, I’m giving you the intention example of an intention in order to receive? Did you get it? What else are you missing?

S. The result is not what I do, it’s how I direct my intention, my action, that is it. This is all our correction, not what I do, what is my intention, my heart toward the others, is that correct?

R. It is correctly usually in our states the action testifies and points to the intention. You understand it is not always like this? It’s not always this way. You punish your child, your child understands that his father is bad, that he’s giving him some punishment, maybe even beats him and your intention is actually to correct him for his benefit, for the benefit of a child. it is written that one who holds back on his reprimands is not caring for his child, we’re not in the world of intentions, we are in the world of actions.

57. S. (02:03:13) Every ten has its own Egypt?

R. I do not understand.

S. Does every ten have its own Egypt?

R. Again?

S. Does every ten have its own Egypt?

R. Yes.

S. Does each one have its own Egypt in order to connect with the ten in order to come out and rise above his Egypt, if this is true that the ten has to rise above its Egypt to connect?

R. We will see along the way if it needs to be it will be.

S. I’m asking I need to feel the desire of my ten, what desire does the ten have to feel as one ten, as one unit?

R. For connection to connection. We should have one Creator and we will be as one vessel.

58. S. (02:04:46) There are two entrances to Egypt, Abraham got into Egypt, Israel got into Egypt and they all came out. What is our work in the group so that we can do it in a successful manner?

R. We’re talking about the nation people of Egypt and not the Abraham who was in Egypt, that is different, we will talk about that later. That does not belong to us now.

59. S. (02:05:26) He says here that the Egyptians advised that the main thing is the intention, shouldn’t it be the opposite, the Egyptians say that the main thing is the action, how come they are talking about the intention?

R. Yes, because against the act there is no matter here it’s not the Egyptians that are talking about the action shall I do or not do but the whole argument of the Egyptians, the whole disturbance from the Egyptians, is specifically where Israel needs to work with intention. We will talk about it. I see that we will not be able to go today so easily, maybe nevertheless okay let’s do 99.

Reading Item 99 (02:06:26)

60. R. (02:08:05) Yes, here we see the end of the efforts of Egyptians upon the person but they come and eventually tell him you will do actions, don’t think about the intentions and everything will be okay and besides that you do not need anything and accordingly people are examined to the expense which they are observing physically something and this is how it is with all the religions and faiths and intentions are concealed, how can we talk about the intentions? Therefore, a person is not demanded for the intentions because he cannot examine him after all but only the actions which is the main thing is the actions and in this actually there is a great big division between those that are engaged in the wisdom of Kabbalah from the times of Rashbi, Rabbi Shimon, during the times of Zohar until this day.

But even before that when they were in the times of Abraham and they went down to Egypt and from Egypt once more they arose to the land of Israel and exit Exodus from Egypt and they had this great divide in all these wars that are in the desert and when they came through the desert to the land of Israel. Here there were wars between them all the time, for thousands years, from the 13th century before the Common Era until 700 years after, meaning around 1,500 years they were in these struggles, scrutinies. It is a very long historical time that was very difficult and eventually everything crumbled, it all fell apart and we actually, in history we had a group that is continuing this way, this path and we want to raise up this great big movement that will implement this process all the way to its end.

61. S. (02:11:17) Why can’t we see the intention if that’s where we connect and only in the intention we can discover the Creator we can’t see the Creator as well?

R. We cannot see with our eyes the intentions, they belong to the spiritual world, these are intentions in order to bestow and not intentions in order to receive as the intentions in order to receive are connected to actions. The intentions in order to bestow can be completely not connected and even opposite than the actions. They are for we cannot see them with our five senses we cannot identify it. You understand? When parents punish a child the child says that Daddy is bad or something so the child says that it is bad, we can the picture to ourselves that it’s not the correct form the child is saying it but rather could be that the father is good and he is protecting the child so he won’t do some foolishness in his life. This cannot be seen but we have experience if we understand this is how it should be and that is how it is in life. Therefore we cannot see the intentions but only from our experience in life and in our spiritual life we have no experience, we cannot define anything, therefore our work is called faith above reason.

62. S. (02:13:40) In order to associate yourself with the right intention related to the current events, our schedule, you told us to meet more times during the day and shortly, but it is very difficult to change our schedule so how to?

R. I don’t know, you need to talk between you about this. I don’t want to decide what you do now, in actions but if you decide this is better or worse then you can once more try to do this way or another. It still seems to me that in what you are now you should advance and see in practice how it will speak in us.

63. S. (02:14:47) If I may, by what actions do we build intention, how is the intention acquired?

R. The intentions come to us from our desires or we demand from above that there come spiritual intentions, the intentions in order to receive are awakened from us, ask, the intentions in order to bestow we try to receive them from above, this is full faith of a reason.

S. Over the intention of in order to bestow, we have to pray and ask, it doesn’t come from actions in the ten?

R. No.

64. S. (02:15:59) The Egyptians say the main thing is the actions in the other excerpt they say the main thing is the intention?

R. I think we are going to come, I’m not joking, we have to come and read Come Unto Pharaoh to maybe choose the time if you want to read this in the morning lesson then we will read it during the morning hours even though they are pretty long articles.

S. It says it’s about time you should start working in the second kind of work in the intention we say it’s hard work, what does it mean it’s hard work?

R. It’s hard labor and a soft mouth.

S. That I know but on the other hand the work in spirituality is easy?

R. Easy?

S. Yes we learn that.

R. You do not need to do some kind of big action, you don’t need to build the pyramids, yes. You don’t need to do anything, castles, partitions and all kinds of things, nothing, it is all just in the will, in the desire, you need to sort out desires and arrange them that is how it works.

S. The way you say it all will be scrutinized in the thought?

R. Yes but that’s the most difficult thing, because you need to build yourself, the Creator scrutinizes it, builds and arranges, you need to nullify yourself more and more so what is hard?

S. It’s nice what you are saying, you’re summarizing the whole lesson, I just now got with the lesson is about.

R. Let the fingers walk for you.

65. S. (02:18:29) Baal HaSulam writes that in one thought all of this whole reality was emanated in one thought so why do I have to renew the intention?

R. But you need to obtain the thought, the thought of creation from the beginning to the end of things and it spins everything in order to incorporate that thought, that creation in order to grasp it and see it from the beginning to the end and from the end to the beginning and in a truly round manner. That is what we want because this will give us the opportunity to exit our perplexity from our world, from our despicable being, from our stupidity, that is the one thought, bestowal. That is it, bestowal is the action that emerges from the quality of love. That is what we need to come to.

66. S. (02:19:46) How did the Egyptians see that we want to work the holy work?

R. The Egyptians are that part of us that exists in us in order to lead us to the goal, to get to the goal we need to be both in plus and minus we need to navigate ourselves constantly like that. It’s like you’re holding, through the steering wheel with both hands and you want to correct left and right, all the time, those are the Egyptians. They are not a redundant force in the creation, the evil inclination needs to be in creation because it is a foundation for the good inclination because without it you cannot reveal the good inclination.

S. So the question is basically what should we do so the Egyptians will see this and help us on the path?

R. What to do so that the Egyptians will help us? You need to try with your horses to strengthen all your desires and thoughts together. That will already be the end of correction so also the evil inclination will work better and will work like the good inclination.

67. S. (02:21:33) Why are the women considered weaker when you say the women’s work, can’t the men be weak?

R. It’s such work in spirituality what was told to Abraham who was the first point from which our spiritual path has begun. Abraham with what Sarah told you, his partner, his spouse from Abraham, whatever she says he has to observe and do, how can it be the women are weaker? There is just the division in what a woman does and in each and everyone of us and what a man does. We need to come to connection where there is no difference between men and women where all these accumulate together and we work together in one way. This needs to be revealed through the connection between us eventually. That is not a physical connection but rather a corporeal one, in our inclination, in our tendency.

68. S. (02:23:08) About this verse with Sarah tells you what should we tell the men in our generation, what should we expect from them?

R. Expect to see them strong and aim to the path and holding on to the line and that you’re willing to go and follow the man and support them in everything. A man really needs that enforcement. A man to his wife is usually related somewhat like to his mother which in him is in his nature.

69. S. (02:23:51) How did the Egyptians replace the men’s work with the women’s work? How did the switch go?
R. We didn’t work together. Also, the coarseness, the screen, the reflected light they all go together and we invest them all and the Creator is revealed between the right connection between the two.

70. S. (02:24:31) If a man is from the word to overcome, is the woman’s work about the intentions?

R. The work of the women no no no I don’t let’s not divide it, slowly, slowly it gets clarified to that just like and school will learn such things in the preparation, slices, slice after slice, here is minus, here is plus and here’s multiplication. This is how we gradually advance to things that are more complex and let’s not jump it, let’s not, it will confuse us and besides that you immediately want to connect it to men and women in this world and it’s not so correct. We will discover and I will tell you just one thing at the end of correction, we will discover everyone in the spiritual work, everyone in equal work, each and everyone is equal to everyone and there is no difference between men and women in their spirituality is not according to the form of a definitive manner or by gender. It is according to an action once you do it as a man or as a woman in spiritually, wants you to connect between the two and so on. All together this moves back and forth without any connection to our biology oor which gender we are. Let’s not get confused about that, do not connect Kabbalah to biological corporeal definition.

S. Inside man can we say that the action is the masculine part and the intention is the feminine part?

R. We talk about it this way, the woman is seemingly the left line and the man is the act of bestowal and the woman is the act of reception, the force of reception but I don’t think it’s worthwhile for us to talk about this. Because we have a tendency to connect with our world and that is not good, it is not good. It will confuse us, it won’t give us anything from this, let’s advance with our materials, it will lead us to the right connection and maybe we need to define a time in which we will read the Pharaoh article number one and two. Talk about that between you and decide when it is convenient for you during the morning lesson, we can work like one hour on Saturday afternoon. Friday we can do an additional lesson if you want however you want, Sunday we have a special Gathering of friends.

S. These articles are very long.

R. We will see nevertheless it’s worthwhile so we will think about how to do this. And for the time being. The summary of the lesson is that we need to continue excerpt number 100. We need to continue with the mortar and the bricks but not get rid of Come Unto Pharaoh one and two.
