Baal HaSulam. The Love of God and the Love of Man (All of Israel Are Responsible for One Another)
1. R. We understand that Israel is the group that has connected in ancient Babylon, by Abraham, who discovered this principle that we have to be in connection between everybody to attain the upper force. He used to worship all kinds of statues, that is how it is said, meaning that he was looking how this world is turning around from our own forces and then he discovered that there is only one force the force of bestowal, the force of love. Because only this force, although it is very weak in our world and in general on the one hand and in general and unseen on the one hand, on the other hand the Nature is the strongest and whole force and we cannot cope with it because in truth all the other forces they can be harmed, erased, you could do something with that, with the force of love you can do nothing. The force itself is above the corporeal nature that does not require anything from anyone and that is why it cannot be harmed by them. That is why it is a special, universal upper force and only speaks about wholeness, about its origin, whoever is in this force of bestowal and love is above corporeal nature and that is why whoever is drawn to it is called Yashar Kel, Israel. Abraham when he discovered that he started talking about it, started publishing it in ancient Babylon and that is how we are getting all kinds of sayings, dispositions from there that all came from the students of Abraham. So let us see what is going on.
2. S. (02:55) Why was there a need to wait for Abraham ,for the one force to be revealed because it sounds reasonable that even beforehand they would look for one God and not many?
R. No, there was not that much and it wasn’t that there is only one force, one good force is running nature and besides that there is nothing, it is not that as opposed to it there other things and in this contradiction there are a few forces than nature, that is how nature behaves as it is between them for a few of them. But only one force that fills the entire reality including inside the entire nature, including humans, we are also a part of Nature and it is also all under one force. There is no such thing, it wasn’t before it wasn’t there before Abraham and after. You see that how all the people, all the groups and all of humanity, although they got the method of Abraham, they are still inclined to divide nature and to many forces and to make a great ritual out of it. Holding on to one force is very difficult, maybe it seems to be simple but it is very hard. It is not human nature. For man it is easier to have a few forces before him and then he can describe each force its own character, nature, personality and then he plays with them and from that you get all of the religions and faiths, etc.
S. What happened there that Abraham revealed or it let people from Babylon come and be drawn to it?
R. He was the son of a very big man that used to be what we call an idol worshiper, he seemingly built idols, statues, what does that mean? It is not a simple stature, his father Terach, he was a big person in the religion, Abraham was his son, he was his helper, as a great priest in Babylon that is how he replaced his father. It is not just Terach and Abraham it is different schools, groups of people who were in struggle, we are only told about one or the other, they were followed by many people.
S. And what do they understand from Abraham? What was that moment?
R. The struggle between the two, this is the meaning that Abraham broke these statues and Terach wanted to kill him and threw him from his home etc etc, we see this. It really resembles what we later read with King Solomon in the Sanhedrin, saying that I am Solomon, I am Kohelet, but how could they believe him it was the same with Abraham. These things are renewed time and again and all the degrees of the human development. The way humanity is developing that is how it happens. It is very difficult to reach a state where we can ascribe everything to upper force. It has nothing, neither angels, nor helpers, nor other forces, sub forces etc., it goes against what we see in our world. It seems that one is so simple but one is the most difficult. How can there be one if there is good and evil, if there is life and death, Etc? People are separated, divided so one force cannot be the origin of so many different disturbances, contradictory forms, wars. A person within himself, he is always within different contradicting states, it is not simple to settle this concept of one.
4. S. (08:05) Now we are speaking about Abraham, he also has someone against him named Nimrod we always see that there are separate forces. When do we see this completion come, when does everything return to one?
R. The second force only comes to scrutinize the first. That is all. Because we, the created beings cannot perceive a concept of within itself, in one’s self. I cannot say. There are also the concepts in philosophy we cannot perceive it, as created beings we can only attain something from its opposite. As the Creator of light and the maker of darkness because darkness is something that is created, it is outside, the Creator can do that and when he does that he can only do it because he himself is a light so he can do something against himself so that the created being before him can distinguish between light and darkness, between different qualities of the Creator and qualities of himself. This way he can attain, perceive reality, otherwise how could he perceive anything? One thing I cannot distinguish the difference but if there is no difference I can distinguish I can feel. That is the whole problem even though there are differences, they are not in me and I cannot feel them. It is like spirituality in spirituality, there is spiritual light in darkness but I do not feel them, neither of them.
S. We speak a lot that we are not destroying the evil inclination and that it comes with it.
R. Yes, as long as we exist as created beings I don’t know what happens in the final correction or after that, don’t ask about that, but as long as we exist we are always under two contradicting forces that because they are contradicting we feel ourselves as existing.
S. I don’t know if we can speak in such a way, but practically when Moses met Pharaoh that force, did he understand that it was the force of the Creator that it was the Creator in him or was it something completely different?
R. I cannot say about Moses and also about Pharaoh however just as we attain reality that is how we should talk. If there wasn’t something separate from something else with respect to us that we couldn’t distinguish it. That is how it is in any attainment and everything.
5. S. (11:55) I have questions about what we read yesterday, why the Torah wasn’t given to the Patriarchs, can I ask about it? Baal HaSulam explains that the Torah was not given because we could not start working Lishma in a small group of people, but we also know that the fathers, the Patriarchs did keep the whole Torah, it is written about that too. What does it mean that they received the Torah if they could already keep it?
R. I do not know, I cannot tell you and explain this because I am not in a state of these Patriarchs so to the extent that I imagine to myself, these are states they can distinguish between and we can’t. They had the subtleness of the heart and ability to discern the smallest things and we need greater, larger discernments, but it also comes as one thing and its opposite. One thing and its opposite when we are capable of connecting things that are opposite even though they…., I don’t know how to express. Today I’m thinking about something else so I cannot explain this to you.
S. So another question. Here we are speaking that each one in Israel was asked if they were willing to keep this Arvut, how can we, what does it mean that we can be asked? How can I reach a state that I ask, I guess it is that the Creator is asking.
R. You feel it from the inside, you have this question, today you too are in this. That you feel you have this question you just don’t feel that it is coming from the Creator.
S. What is the state that each one of us will be asked so that we will receive the Torah because that is a condition that everyone is asked and we all agreed.
R. Yes this whole group that later connected by the force of Arvut in it and from then on it is called the Yashar Kel, Israel, this whole group felt that this is the question before them. Can they by annulling their ego connect between themselves and come to a mutual force called Arvut. Arvut is already the revelation of the one force, the Creator because they are building an infrastructure for it by the concept of Arvut. When in the force of connection between them called Arvut they will discover this quality called the Creator, called come and see. Arvut is the vessel and what is revealed in it is the Creator, the light.
S. Should we hope or aim for all of us receiving this question and feeling that we have to answer it so we will all be in this state or does it come to individuals gradually?
R. It comes to everyone. Not everyone all together all at once but it comes to everyone. Arvut is something we build from here to the final correction every time and greater degrees of coarseness.
6. S. (16:30) When we discuss these excerpts, they really push us above reason and we still discuss it. We try to understand it with our logic, with our reason.
R. We have to have criticism with our intellect over everything. The question is how much we accept whether our intellect perceives and organizes and brings us as a result as the answer. That is the question. But examining everything with our intellect we can do that, even though later we need and sometimes we have to say that our intellect is worth nothing, we are going above reason. Above our intellect but criticizing it and examining it yes, because also building something above reason we need reason otherwise how will I do that. I need to say that this what I have reasonably according to my vessels to see and to decide, however but in order to rise above a higher spiritual degree I need to elevate myself to a higher state of what I see now they have eyes and do not see but rather I have to rise to a higher degree of bestowal. That is it, where is the force of bestowal, how can I work with it? I’m going to go work with it now.
S. I’m asking from the desire to scrutinize and feel it. But it looks like I need to take a step to rise over my personal reason so it is not something we are pushed towards.
R. We are talking about having to rise, we need to rise with faith above reason, we are talking about that, we are just not yet pushing everyone towards that but rather whoever hears, hears and if someone doesn’t yet here well then he prepares himself in order to hear. That is it.

7. R. (20:10) This means that I’m responsible for all of the sins of the world because basically we see today that the whole world can come to point at us and say, yes, you are to blame. Everything that is going on is because of you, we can feel that, they can feel that in their subconscious. I hope that soon we will reach a state in which the whole world will turn specifically to Bnei Baruch, our world group and say, whatever happened there and there, all the places in the world and all the families, it is your fault. That is the revelation of the truth, the revelation of the force of evil that we have not managed correctly to correct and balance.

8. R. ( 21:23) It is as if each one is responsible over himself so how can I be that each one is responsible over the other and this small group is responsible for the whole reality, the whole of humanity.

(22:35) This is how it is even to the extent of the entire humanity if even the smallest part of it, it’s not breaking, breaching the forces of nature everyone suffers because from above what’s taken into account as the entire humanity altogether and so even this part where you can perform the correction of Arvut if it doesn’t do that it by that causes harm to everyone.

10. R. (24:17) Until we all go into Arvut you cannot fully keep this a law of Arvut and that is called keeping the Torah and Commandments. Meaning keeping the correct forces of communication between everyone of connection between everyone.

12. R. (27:41) Meaning that there are many questions here in favor, against, should we correct? Because on the way, as we correct others, they don’t understand, they do understand things, maybe by that we are making the world better and then it is as if we are disturbing others to see the world as evil and to correct it. Well there are all kinds of things in favor and against. So how can we do it? We do not yet know.
13. S. (28:23) Why is the wisdom of Kabbalah not distant for those who hear what it wants to say but for everybody?
R. Because ultimately everyone has to reach the complete correction so from the shattering of Adam HaRishon there are all kinds of types of people, all kinds of levels between them and everyone needs to ultimately connect to one view, to one thought, to one Creator and that is how they attain one reality. That is it. In the meantime on the way each one needs to complement himself by others and then they reach a complete vessel, Kli.
14. S. (29:29) We, according to experience , already know that everything that you say takes place and sometimes or not sometimes, always, it comes as a surprise but once it comes you can’t do it anymore and then we see in everything that is happening now and whatever happens. I don’t want people to come to Bnei Baruch and start demanding stuff for us. I want to do something now and we see the war and every moment on every effort and every thought, on the other hand we say that you can do whatever you can do, so what should Bnei Baruch do in order to not to come up to you crying why is this happening because once the destruction comes we can not complain about it.
R. I don’t know what I can add. We need to advance and we are advancing in the connection between us to the goal. The fact that between us there are people who are very different from one another it is good for us to really discover the vessel as complicated as possible. Some really yearn, some barely yearn, and on the way in between the two, actually I am very pleased from our group in general. In the states we get from above, what the Creator establishes between us in our brains and in our hearts, these perceptions we are advancing pretty well.
Of course there is no limit to the good on the one hand but on the other hand, we also need to see that the purpose of creation can only take part in a gradual manner and a slow one. It is not a problem to reach the final destination even though it is a goal and according to what is accepted in our world, the main thing is to reach the goal but in spirituality advancement on the path is no less respectable. This advancement in the eyes of the Creator from the attainment of the goal. Because the attainment of the goal for man, there is no difference between attaining it now as we are acting from lack of time or if we attain it later, if we can talk about the concept of time and all. The main thing is how we are in this tendency, disposition to connect, to come closer to each other and to think how we still are understanding, recognize and mutually inclined towards each other between us and the Creator. For him it is important, just as we enjoy little children the way that they succeed with small things and their grown ups they have the brains, the intellect, the force, the feeling and so they continue.
The Creator enjoys specifically us from light from darkness, from lack of ability, that he established for us from that we try nevertheless. Just as when you look at a small child and you see that he is trying and he is really sweating to attain something and he can’t, but he is organizing these things the way that he can and he wants. So that is basically what gives the pleasure and that is why, this is how you should also look at creation. It is not a problem to reach the end, the problem is to give contentment to the Creator in all the different parts of our advancement.
One thing and it’s opposite here, from the extent that we are less developed in spirituality and nonetheless are drawn to do something, we are giving greater contentment compared to us being big, strong, doing some actions on our own, out of our experience, out of our adhesion even. That is not necessarily so, that is why we should be content in each and every moment on the path and to enjoy what we are doing. It is not that we are not yearning for the final correction, however also on every step of the path we should be enjoying all dealing with what the Creator gave us and we are basically with him. That is it.
15. S. (35:42) We learned that the Creator needs one nation, the nation of Israel, to correct the world and here it is saying that it is not enough?
R. In order to begin we need to begin from a small group and this is called a nation and in order to finish all the corrections for that we need everybody to connect like that nation.
S. This is clear so what does it mean that he attained it out of reality or out of the ancestor rights where is the ten here?
R. That is a later on they connected in at ten and in the meantime the Patriarchs, the forefathers that is that means states there they attained the entire Torah and other vessels where they were all incorporated in everything that would come out of them in the future so in the root, they were already connected in contradicting examinations, that in it supposedly the group was already existing, that group that are manifested later on. All the other forces and qualities that contradicting them develop but in the beginning it was not revealed yet, just like in each one of us, when the desire to receive grows you get like a bouquet of desires that contradict each other and between them we can already check these things.
S. So the ancestors are closer to the root as you said previously this is why they felt the pure discernments?
R. We have to do this in a practice, for them the work was more in intention.
16. S. (38:21) Question about what you said before ,why does the Creator enjoy me trying and not succeeding, a father does enjoy when the son succeeds?
R. He gives you an ability and opportunity to show everybody and yourself and the Creator himself as much as you are drawn to perform his desires.
17. S. (38:53) Why did the Creator let us deal with all of these physical conditions instead of the correction of our connection?
R. We need on top of all kinds of physical work, as you are saying, to cover them with the right intention, there is no physical life there is only spirituality.
18. S. (39:29) What is the spiritual meaning of the waters flooding us, or flooding that ship?
R. That if we will not connect between us and will not be concerned that we are sitting on the same vessel then we all die it all depends on the Arvut.
19. S. (40:00) You said that on top of physical actions we can add the spirituality. On the calendar on the eve of Passover and in previous years we had many physical actions we could do with spiritual work. Yesterday we had a funeral in the group and in the evening we had wedding, we met so many friends and feel that this time of the virtual exile we can end it now and it is time to go back home and be together and to be very intermingled between each other and to rise to a new degree of connection between a physical and spiritual together. I wanted to ask you what you feel, is this the time?
R. You are asking me then I tell you one thing. I see that all the physical separation that took place between us because of the virus came for us. for specifically us to reach some kind of a spiritual connection and then we will come back to the physical connection if we need it.
But to come back to a physical connection in a state where first of all we are not allowed to according to the health ministry rules. I do not want to be a wise guy like such actions took place and we saw what it can come to and we have seen but we can come to through such wise actions, people who do not want to take medications and shots and so on. So we’ll do everything that we need to when we need to and do not to be smart, to do things that are dangerous. I do not go to a funeral, I do not go to a wedding because I am taking care of myself. I am pretty responsible in order to sustain myself with forces and to keep in shape in order to give the lesson every day and a few more talks and everything. This way everybody has to feel himself that he is responsible at least for the ten and through the ten to all other tens together. So just to say that we wanted to come and we wanted to incorporate and this I do not think this is the most desired. It doesn’t seem so for me anyway.
S. There is a feeling that physical actions, just to cutting salad with the friends, thinking that this is something for the friends, this is a feeling that what we are talking about is better felt. You invest more time, more strength, it is complementing the efforts we make in connection so it gives a special value, felt stronger. It is also felt external but there is more opportunity to serve the friends and the seemingly realize that connection on a higher degree, if the conditions allow us to do this, maybe we should wake up the desire to reach this state, it seems that it is about time.
R. Okay, so write a nice article about it and we will read it but for now I do not have any Impulse to come to such a gathering because it is very dangerous health-wise. That the doctor was given the permission to cure, this is why you have to listen to the doctor. I must and not according, with all due respect, to you but about you are saying I do not hear so this is why we have to do everything we need to get our vaccination and not what happened to one of our friends who was a wise guy and there are a few more of those between us, you know my opinion about this. I have nothing to say more.
20. S. (45:15) How am I responsible for all the crimes in the world if I did not do them, what is this responsibility?
R. How can you say that you did not do it, you caused it, to the extent you are together with everybody and it does not depend on you, it is how you were born, the way you were created. That you were one from millions and billions of people that are in a single connection and that they are all called the shape of Adam that resembles the Creator. Until we do not come to really resemble the Creator we are all in a crime and tww must try and reach the connection in order to bestow and in that we discover the form of the Creator between us. It doesn’t matter where the person is, what he is, there are calculations above and below but it seems to you according to your mind, you will see as much as you can perform corrections there.
21. S. (48:49) How to reach the ability to raise a prayer for the whole world?
R. I do not know but I think that modern person can see the news, listens to things and sees as much as that world is endangered, as much as he is suffering, as much as there are many people starving from lack of medication. They are under threat of bombs and missiles and so on and this is why you have got to pray for, so please do that work in it, we need to be concerned about the whole world and eventually the whole world is our vessel.
22. S. (47:47) How will the world feel that there is a force that gives to the world called Bnei Baruch?
R. You bestow and then you will see how they are feeling. The Creator already organized the recognition of Bnei Baruch in the world.
23. S. (48:08) What is to break the idols between us in the ten?
R. Everything that disturbs us and separates us is called an idol, everything that is separating. That is why that was the work of the Pharaoh, to put up the idols,and it takes place until today this is why according to the wisdom of Kabbalah you are not allowed to build idols, you are not allowed to draw an image of man, his face and his body, you are not allowed to do that because it all comes from the person one thing to raise himself supposedly to the degree of the Creator.
24. S. (49:03) What does it mean to drill a hole in the ship, in the ten?
R. The fact that I need to begin it to accept the group as working in Arvut and in something I am breaking this Arvut, I am drilling on the side of the boat.
25. S. (49:32) In the world Kli should develop a feeling of a single nation?
R. Of course yes, what is the single nation, it is a one man with one heart, this is it, we are all, when you see us on the screen, men and women and so on we are all belonging to the group called single nation, the nation of the Creator that we want to be connected to him.
26. S. (50:19) What does it mean to bring the world back, to turn the world back, is it something that can turn the world back?
R. Supposedly you are hitting the brakes.
S. But the brake does not stop us progressing?
R. You can say that about everything but we are talking about the progress that is in our hands and we cannot ruin this progress, of course there are lots of different actions that by that we stop redemption.
27. S. (51:05) If the Arvut depends on the whole world, what is the essential cell that you can make within it Arvut?
R. That is the ten or even two people within the ten, from the ten, maybe three or four people as much as possible, that friend in the ten want to cause such a connection between them that they are constantly thinking how to hold the others and establish an atmosphere between us that the Creator is between us.
S. Then he says that one sinner causes everybody to drown, what is that?
R. Because when there is a connection of Arvut, even if somebody is breaking that law, causes damage to all of the agreement between them, physical or spiritual.
S. So this law of the single criminal that drills a hole it is just when we are already in Arvut?
R. Yes, of course.
S. Practically in the ten there is actually the concept of criminal it is not irrelevant to us?
R. It is still not so much but we are already receiving that burden then we have to progress to this, also in this progress in that sort of work that we are in this process, we also have an opportunity to go for or against.
28. S. (53:07) You said that we have what to pray for, today we are going to have a meeting, today with Western Europe, we wanted to scrutinize the prayer we are writing after the lesson. How do you see this prayer according to the conditions in the world Kli?
R. I cannot tell you, you have to work on this alone to begin with, only really you have to do this from all your heart.
30. S. (57:45) I wanted to ask a question with respect to the current events. In Bnei Brach, in Israel in general there is a feeling that these are sort of processes that precede something even bigger so maybe we should not wait for it to happen maybe we should proceed the events and then all the stories started in Ukraine the Israeli Kli and the world Kli united around us so maybe we should unite around the Israeli Kli ultimately if you make this calculation that everything that happens between the country’s depends on Israel now?
R. Yes and no. Everything that is happening in the world at the end stems from the connection between us and not from the country of Israel or the actual people of Israel or what is happening in this area, in this geographical area, it all depends on the connection between us and we in this connection we establish on the degrees of still vegetative animal and speaking, we establish the whole world so that is why we need as quick as possible to rise to faith above reason and to start speaking about how bestowal being greater than reception and only this way can we build our spiritual land, our spiritual vessel in it we can give it more importance.
31. S. (59:58) If this degree of the work above reason it is not so clear to us, if it is not clear it means that we are not there yet, right?
R. But if we want it it will be revealed.
S. So it is all a matter of me incorporating into the ten and the ten incorporating into the world Kli?
R. It will all happen when we want to be connected above our ego and we are asking the Creator for this to happen.
32. S. (01:00:41) In the physical world it is the preparation for spirituality. If I understand correctly, if a Physician gives some advice so he was given permission to heal, so when I do these things his recommendations not to physically meet, it’s the first step, is it a first-degree before faith above reason?
R. It is also included in that that you do what the doctor says even if you do not understand it this is what is written in the Torah that the doctor has the permission to heal, to cure, so we have to even do this without a mind. Like it is written as Rabash explains, I go to the doctor and find the best doctor even paying a lot of money for this and after I get the medicine that is called that I perform that commandment, that this is what the Creator commanded and this is how we have to do it. This is why whether I want it or not, whether I understand or feel or not, it doesn’t matter I must do it and I do it and also I recommend to everybody and whoever can listen does and whoever does not should not come later to complain, this is it. I do not have anything to add to this I feel really sorry that nobody hears and then gets damaged and what you gain from it, I do not know, so perhaps they have a greater mind than the Torah, so I have nothing to add.
33. S. (01:03:04) Most of the questions were answered, we have two questions left. How can we understand and realize that the condition before us is Arvut, mutual guarantee all over the world?
R. To understand you cannot because we come from a single vessel that was broken and we have to go back to the single vessel and connect in all of it’s parts together into a single vessel again, and then the intensity of the connection, the state of connection, is called Arvut, mutual guarantee, where each one incorporates with everyone else with all the vessels and then in that way each one attains the entire big vessel and attains the entire Creator in that vessel.
34. S. (01:04:05) About the previous subject, what is the difference between having many idols and Abraham’s approach to divide the Creator into the forces of good and evil, Pharaoh and Moses, both have a division into two forces, it’s not one force?
R. I do not even know what to say, either I take the Upper force and divide it into parts or I take people and divide them into parts, that is the difference. Above, it is a single force that bestows upon us in all kinds of forms, in different kinds of forms, and we take all those forms and connect them to him and he say None Else Besides Him the good that does good and so on, and this is what we need to do to reach at state that in everywhere, in every part, life, moment, it does not matter what we are in we always aim everything to a single source, that Lord our God the Lord is One, and we below understand and that feel ourselves as very different and also in that our purpose is to be in a connection in such a way that in the Arvut, mutual guarantee we can feel all of us that we are one body, one man with one heart, so also above we are building the Creator as one in our senses and also below we are connecting a between as into a single unity, this is our goal and by that will be a vessel and a light which are one. This is the purpose of creation. So if there are any questions we will answer them in the next lesson but for now try and hold the Arvut, mutual guarantee, and to be in the relations between us in above reason and toward the Creator above reason, that the bestowal and love and the tendency to be in the friend this should be constant in me.
