1. Rav’s Introduction: Yes, we are learning about the entire process each of us has to go through as we exit will to receive where we were born and grew up; we received a clarion, an invitation, a calling from above to come out of this, to want to come out of this, a certain impulse, a certain traction and this is why we came to this wisdom of Kabbalah. It is not something a person chooses by himself, he is being led, but along the way they also give him places where he has to add something of himself. And the more he advances along the path he is getting more and more opportunities to participate in his advancement according to the desire he has to add, somehow, by being Incorporated in the books and the right people along the way who can assist him and the study, different times, different states.
So in addition to being awakened he adds certain exertion that can awaken him even more. In addition to the light that shines to him from above, he, himself awakens this light from above in his participation; and then through this awakening from above and awakening from below, by this a person advances until he begins to feel that his will to receive is something bad, it disturbs him, he wants to get rid of it to such an extent he tries to get rid of it but he sees that he cannot until he feels that for that, he needs an environment by which he will be impressed, activated and he can add his exertion, his desire, his pull forward because ‘envy, lust and honor take a person out of this world’, out of his place, out of his degree and raise him to a higher degree. And also by investing more, understanding and feeling more, making those scrutinies and in this way he advances.
This path is not simple, it is long. If we were studying something external, we would be much more advanced than how we are, here, because learning external things like science, psychology or something, we ourselves would not need to go through these things but here we ourselves have to go through those states and this is why we are confused. I cannot experiment on myself and be both under this experiment and also to study this from the outside, just like a scientist studying these things objectively. This is where our problem lays, we are reluctantly subjected as we go through different states and we don’t know which states we are going through and we also want to know about them: what are those states, how can we influence them, how are they influencing us. And this is the problem, to learn about ourselves this is very difficult for us because we ourselves are going through all those things so how can we study it?
If you tell this to any scientist they tell you this is impossible because you do not have an objective point from which to see these things from the side, to make one parameter constant and to learn about other things, yes or no, what we do in science, typically. For that reason, Kabbalists are saying we have such a possibility to do this under the conditions that we enter a society, a ten, and when we enter a ten we can realize our progress objectively. I look at others, I see how they look at me, we take care to be more and more connected with each passing day, to feel each other deeper internal, not like regular people, but to unite our desires for the Creator, our intentions to the Creator in such a way that we try for our desires and intentions to the Creator to come closer to each other.
We do not care about whose desires, whose intentions as long as it clothes in each and every one and all of us together. So we do not want to make these scrutinies of who owns these desires and the intentions, thoughts; and in this way we come to a state where we come to a state where we can advance, we can sort out our desires and intentions, and we do not care about it, it’s not important who they belong to but only that they would grow and become stronger and more unified, more as one as they connect. This is the path until we reach one desire, one intention until we can feel ourselves. Each one does not think about himself but rather each one is thinking about the group and I am incorporated in it. It cannot be that there is me and someone else and another someone. There are no friends, there is only the group and in it, in that intention, this desire we live and we have to stabilize this together as clearly, as sharply aimed at the Creator so that the tip of our advancement, this spearhead is aimed at the Creator, we want to reach Him.
Meaning we need to restrict ourselves, our tendencies and feelings, intentions, thoughts so they would all connect and acquire the form of the Creator, and that is really our work. In a sense we come back to the form of Adam HaRishon from that he fell and shattered, the Creator arranged this for him, and we have to return to that same state but with an additional desire, an additional egoistic desire that separate between them and together with this separation, we want to take everything that separates us and embrace it and connect in spite of this separation so that this separation would obligate us to unify ourselves to such an extent that the power that used to separate us will enter into the connection and will be used as a foundation for our connection just as we learn about it in the spiritual Partzuf.
The coarseness is there, it doesn’t get purified rather it works that we would connect above it, perform a restriction over it, screen, reflected light, and connection with the upper force. This is our work at this point, at this stage, later we will continue to connect between us and start to reveal the types of connections between us, how much you can more and more unify those states between us, how much they can more and more all help each one another, ‘each shall help his friend’ in such a way that will connect more and more all those tendencies, inclinations, desires, passions, all those deficiencies, everything. May they forget together both negative and positive things so you would know how to work with everything and then eventually all those states, black and white, from that we begin to discover the Creator.
The way we do this in our feelings we will come to a state where we begin to see the Creator, His form, His image, from where? From the connection we made, from our connections. Hence, we will begin to identify the Pharaoh more as the force that interferes with our connection but revealing the Creator. This is the Pharaoh, the back side of the Creator, that in this way precisely He is helping us to reach the recognition of the Creator, His revelation and so from a thing and its opposite, we come in our life and quickly to the revelation. This is the purpose of our connection, the purpose of our life, and let’s hope we do this firmly and quickly.
2. S. (13:37) You said that we have to restrict ourselves, that the aspiration of the work will be the revelation of the Creator, the soul of Adam so how to restrict ourselves to do this?
R. This is what we learn from the verses: we will wish to restrict the ego that separates us and depict to ourselves how we can connect above the ego, this is the first stage, to connect above the ego. Despite the forces of separation which we do, we understand, we are not running away from them, we also know we cannot run away from them. They are together with us and we are making all kinds of efforts so they won’t interfere with our connection, this is called restriction. The restriction that we have to perform for the time being, and later we will use these forces of separation, of distance, hate, rejection, specifically through them, we specially reach more exalted degrees. Meaning, the more we use them in such a way that we use them to climb above them, by this we will connect and make higher Partzufim in our connection and our connection will be at a greater height.
3. S. (15:32) Is it possible to say that the whole work is the study is the cumulative experience and the empirical data we have to accumulate to return to Adam HaRishon?
R. Correct, we need to collect all the instances that come to us, that all of it comes from the Creator and try to connect above them, so that everything we feel in our lives will be like a correct infrastructure for connection, and we will see that there is nothing in all our lives that is redundant. Rather each and everything has its place only on the condition that we place the connection between us, and with the Creator as the way to stabilize the shape of the Creator in our connection then we can use correctly all the events in our lives.
4. S. (16:53) In relation to the revelation of the Creator the individual is completely nullified and the whole calculation is with the group the person is in.
R. Yes, the calculation is with that Partzuf of Adam HaRishon which we can arrange in the connection between us. Of course each and every one needs to be nullified there, to to be swallowed, to be connected, to be participating as much as possible in the connection between every one, since only in the connection with every one can we measure the contribution and the work, an individual work of each person, how much he cares for the connection of every person.
S. So what is it that the thoughts, desires, intentions we have don’t matter but it is enough that it exists in the group and already contributes to everybody?
R. Only such thoughts and desires that you can attach to the group, and in them, to push the entire group to the Creator. Only this goes into the spiritual work in practice, everything else for the time being, around it, surrounds it positively or negatively; but they also assist somehow but the main thing in our work is the connection between us. What can we collect for the ongoing connection between us
S. So the question is: from the explanation it follows that it does not matter even if I have a desire for spirituality or not, if this desire exists in my ten and I somehow incorporate it, this is what is important?
R. Yes, so incorporate in it like a baby in this world, newborn. How is he incorporated? He does nothing, he does not know where he is but they take care of him and that’s it. But because he is nullified towards the society, to the grownups, the more he grows up he begins to demonstrate his independence, his self, his character, to that extent he also consider more, on one hand, and we also care for him less because we give him room for self-expression.
S. So my annulment transforms me to the result of the ten with respect to the Creator?
R. Yes.
S. And how do I intensify their thoughts and intentions to become the form of the Creator?
R. By annulling yourself and wanting to be Incorporated in them but when you annul yourself, you annul your self, meaning your own unique form and unique way, and you annul before them and you adhere to them also in a personal, special way. In other words, you complete them and each one does the same, he annulls and he adheres to the others and in total this is the group, this is the ten which is preparing itself in this way for annulment in the brain and in the heart, in the thoughts and intentions. Then, in this way, by this, it is making itself into matter which the Creator can clothe in and can shape the upper light and works on it because it is ‘like clay in the hand of the potter’, like dough.
S. So all the addition that I add to them is only my annulment, by this I push them?
R. But the form of the annulment is what you add and when each one adds the form of their annulment we come to the first degree, relative to the Creator. Later the will to receive grows in each one and everyone together, and we enter certain fights as the Torah is telling us was happening all the time between the children of Israel. Then they have to work even above that and this is how they advance more and more, on top of these fights and that separation the Creator awakens. It is happening from the nature of the creation, the will to receive, and you attain a certain form above it that is similar to the Creator, coarseness, Shoresh, Aleph, Bet.
Accordingly in the will to receive there awakens a feeling that is also opposite to the Creator, that it is a different, so on, so forth, the feeling of coarseness that is greater and this is how they work each time. Until they begin to ascend and descend, and separate from the Creator and come closer to the Creator, start and stop, these kinds of movements. By this they begin to feel themselves a bit more and the group a bit more, and each one subjugates to the group, annuls before it as they advance and each one separates from the group as they go on a descent and a fall. And in this way from the light and the darkness, from these two opposite states, we begin to acquire spiritual feelings, spiritual minds. Although it’s not spiritual yet, but it is a beginning, and after several actions, we begin to understand that there is a special process that we are learning about, the process of learning as the light excels from darkness. So the more the darkness will be, the light will be greater or the opposite, or left and right, we cannot say that this is what’s happening, this is the study.
S. So what is it for a ten that already somewhat builds their form of the Creator? Is it something we hold onto, this form of the Creator?
R. It depends on the state and the degree from which we are speaking. Also in this world, every one is somehow present in this world and we somehow arrange ourselves, we’re in it. There are those who understand more and there are those who barely exist. They know this is my work, this is my life, I need to do this, this is what I eat and this is where I sleep and this is my world. There are those who are above this, we do not use other things that people arrange next to us, but there are other people who give what they can but they themselves also participate in life. Just like we see how they arrange things: they manufacture things, they build new things. This already depends on the person, how much he is developed from the side of nature, by nature and we need to see this in our inner work. In our building in the group, how we can actually arrange the spiritual world? How much can I add from myself in the connection between us? How much by this I can arrange, I can stabilize the spiritual world?
S. So the first grip on the Creator happens as the result of the ten’s work or that each individual in the 10 holds on to it meaning the first contact with the form of the Creator?
R. The first contact with the form of the Creator is when I start to feel that I add consciously to the ten and by this I bring about the revelation of the Creator to the created beings. This is generally speaking.
5. S. (27:02) This state you describe of connecting about the ego ,above the forces of separation requires how high willingness of the friends. How to overcome the fact that some of the friends in the ten are more ready and some less?
R. Through example. Envy, lust and honor, they exist in every one and we have to use these characteristics and qualities because each one has a tendency, deficiency for envy, for lust and for honor. We need to see how you are connected more, how from disconnection you speak about more higher, exalted things, how you understand better, you feel more and how much you invite them. Do not reject them rather you invite them to connect to you and this way you are pulling them inside.
S. What is the responsibility on those who are ready for this kind of work?
R. Anybody who is in it, even to a small degree, must participate in order to draw in the others, truly. There is a silent prayer, some action that he demonstrates without words, all kinds of states that they arrange between them and this is how they need to awaken others in higher degrees, in common actions, do not be despaired, this is our work. First of all, we have to receive each and every friend which was given to me from above, and I have to both suffer and see that, by that, he is helping every one and also me personally.
S. How to make sure there is no separation?
R. There can not be any separation because the Creator arranged the ten and He placed every one in the ten. That’s why we have to accept every one as parts, pieces that make up the vessel for the revelation of the Creator. Only on the conditions that the person in the ten interrupts us, truly, and we have to decide seriously if he’s interrupting or not. Then we have permission to remove him from the ten, it’s on the condition that he is deliberately throughout, over time, sowing separation between us, as if on purpose. It is also possible that he does not know that he’s causing separation; in this case we have to tolerate him and work with him and complete this work for him according to how much time he needs to grow up and understand and participate with us together.
S. How do those friends who weakened help us to shape this form of the Creator, what is there the role?
R. By growing weaker but it’s on the condition that we together, all of us, perform various actions in order to bring them back to the desired action, the desired state. There is a lot to do, here, this is the main work that is before us. To constantly maintain the wholeness of the ten, ten, five, it does not matter. But it has to be wholeness, every one should participate with everything they’ve got in order to maintain this vessel as whole as possible, intact. Then we will begin to feel that this one is coming out, this one is going down, but in total these ascents and descents help us and make room between us for the correct use of every one.
6. S. (31:59) Many times we see that a friend who is more advanced and makes discernments can not understand the friends who are falling behind. And many times that friend who is falling behind does not have the same level of importance. Many times when we try to do something for the friend who is falling behind, it becomes uncomfortable for that friend. How to do this correctly?
R. I think that here it is ‘love covers all crimes’. First of all, I need to see the following: all the friends in my ten, the Creator brought to me. It is not like I choose them or that the person has a chance to choose anything because if he sees the end of the path and the general vessel, which parts need to come to Correction and through which accumulation, this is not possible. So the Creator arranged all those things; therefore I need to accept every one as much as I can, and I have to help them and specifically in our help to each other there we will see our progress. Our progress mot towards some far away goal, although it is far, but our progress is toward the center of the ten where we connect together, truly into one point. This is called, “as one man with one heart”, the singular point of desire and there we reveal the Creator. So there is not much to do here, other than connection as tight a connection as possible and this we’ll advance.
7. S. (34:36) It is said we have to be patient in this work but I don’t feel any patience on the contrary, I feel very impatient and very angry. Of course, I want to hug my ten, I want to cuddle them, I want to serve them, I want to delight their vessels with all the upper bestowal, that’s what I want. On the other hand, the question is should I be patient on this?
R. You need to understand, how to say, the correct attitude towards the friends is shone when you approach them with love. When you cannot do it, when you just begin because they’re only the forces of separation at work, but nevertheless, we must come to a state where I receive support from the environment and each time I will get an example how every one is being more patient to one another and only I should feel myself as neglectful of every one, how do I disregard every one, how I am that last, the least.
How quick I am to get angry at every one and these feelings need to accompany me all the time, on the one hand; and on the other hand, I have to constantly try to cover them with the connection and love in a state where I have no choice, I will not make it to the goal. I have to reach the goal on two lines, the hatred and love, left and right, otherwise I will have no success. I must use this force of nature, the ego that the Creator created with everything I have and I have to draw from the Creator the force of connection that will cover my ego. In this way, to have the good force dominate the bad force but the bad force should remain. It will be used as a foundation, as the back side of each degree in every state.
S. Also, there is a certain impression that I saw something from me in everyone, it is like everybody in the ten carries something from me but when I love them, do I love myself inside them or truly love them, this is confusing me. Do I love myself inside them because even when I look at you, I see myself, you are reflecting me to myself, it is like a mirror, everything. So do I love myself in others or I truly love others?
R. Only your part. For the time being you only love your part in us but it’s good. Gradually these things will change.
S. So how can I clarify what is not me?
R. This will come on the path, along the way you cannot depict it artificially it will come as you develop internally and you begin to relate differently to yourself and to others, and also objectively, you look at yourself and others. Gradually you will come to the degree of Bina, Bina is the most objective thing that can be. Nothing is near, nothing is far, it’s called, “a free land”, you’re free from the will to receive and free from the will to bestow, it is a very special thing and it will come.
8. S. (40:32) I heard at the beginning of the explanation that there is such a state where we do not want to clarify whose thoughts and desires and intentions are these, but that is important is the internal connection.
R. What difference does it make in the ten who’s desires or intentions or thoughts there are. We work accordingly and we have to arrange them this way and that above them we connect. The connection above all the thoughts and intentions, we only seek the unity between us and the higher light shines to the point and then he arranges such a state then we begin to see that our connection is the highest thing. This is called ‘ love covers all crimes’ . There are many thoughts, many desires,opposing and different but the connection between us is what is very important. This way we surrender before the unity
S. I want to ask about this state, in such a state what is the place of my work opposite to every friend specifically and this picture where I do not care about desires and intention the friend
has?
R. I cannot give you complete advice for the moment but the place is such that you cry for whatever is happening in the group between the groups and interrelations between the groups and together with that together you serve them as much as possible. Many crimes will be revealed between us and as we advance we will feel them more and above that, we have to limit the fact that they are revealed and we see them and regret them. On the other hand,we have to cover them with happiness and joy. This is something natural the Creator is revealing because it is the evil inclination that He created. Together with all that we cover everything both negative and positive with love.This is how we cover everything.
S. Practically speaking I see that sometimes there is a period when you put a lot of effort into working towards individuals and then sometimes more towards the public and so on. How do we not put our attention into the wrong place ? What is the advice here?
R. Our work, generally speaking, is to be with the collective, with the whole with the ten, in such a way that all the details which we can magnify in the ten. We can do it but everything, nevertheless for the sake of the te. The important thing is to maintain the ten. This is a must until the entire ten appears to you. It is very small, very restricted and each time you need to examine iit and get more and more different discernments in it. We will advance and we will see, for now read for us something from the exile.

9. R. (44:54) After we are in a state where we try to scrutinize between us different forms of advancement and we hear and understand, maybe to a small extent we feel, that our acancement can only come from the connection between us by attaching everything together internally with our thoughts. We begin to feel the place of the desires as one heart. The place of our thoughts, the one person, the one brain,after we begin to feel somehow that this is the beginning of the connection between us. Then we come to a state together with that we also start to recognize the forces of separation that don’t let us connect our desires and the hearts and our thoughts together. We can not, and each time they are a bit more and a bit less in the connection.
Each time we must, we have to see, how tight we are towards one another with our brain and heart We have to feel how much it is not yet, and not yet and that through all these different modes of the work, in these states, where we are struggling how to connect our brain and heart into one, for everyone. This is called the work in Egypt, where against our egoistic desires that separate in our brain and heart, we try to be connected. When do we enter Egypt ? When we feel our work is in connection, in the desires and in the thoughts. Our thoughts should be aimed only at the Creator until we reveal something between according to how tight we keep them together. This work is hard labor. Our egos constantly throw us off, confuse us and takes us out of the states that we attain and all of our efforts that we attain connect us more and more. Our failure to do so is called the exile in Egypt.
Excerpt 12 (48:16) Joseph and his Brothers – I Seek My Brothers
10. R. (48:52) What is he talking about? We are starting to feel the importance of the connection. That specifically, in the connection between we attain spirituality. We approach spirituality at the very least. This is why there is a question? Maybe it is not so clear between us but we must connect in my ten. I seek my brothers and for the time being we see ourselves as wandering on a field. We still cannot find the connection that tight connection between is working towards the goal.

11. R. (50:20) This means that our work is there to shorten the distance between us. Meaning when we are looking between us, meaning internally, we are looking for an internal contact in our brain and in our heart so that our brain and our heart would be aimed at the Creator. That is why it says, “I seek my brothers” and so I do not know exactly where they are. Where are they feeding this flock? Where are they on this field? This is a virtual field, it is a spiritual field and the work in the field is very difficult. R. We will discover that all those things already exist but they exist to the extent that we wish to keep them, to uphold them. This is how it works out. We need to make exertions in everything that is on the one hand and on the other hand, anything that you will reveal already exists. We only need to give a prayer and the strength that is required from us but when we give this prayer and we will see that it already exists and it comes because the future state that we have to reach already exist and nothing is lacking accept our desire for happened and if our desire will be in wholeness, then he can see this through pictures.
22. S. (59:03) We learned that only I need correction and the friends are already corrected? Here it says that they already departed, hence they don’t want to connect?
R. Okay we will reveal both of these things. It’s not important. All the states that we can reveal along the way .we will have to perform those connections in them. There are many to be revealed, they are ongoing.
23. S. (59:45) How to find the brothers in the field?
R. By connecting in our groups the groups will be assembled. These groups are seemingly accidental, but forcefully we begin to connect more and more in order to build the connection between us so that in connection between us. Specifically there, we will reveal the Creator as a result of correct connection. This way we advance.
24. S. (01:00:36) How to create a field that is blessed by the Creator but with the friends?
R. Alone we cannot find it. We can only look for the field. We can only find the field but my brother’s I cannot find. It is only by working together in a certain trajectory between us we will connect and reveal the Creator between us and then each will help his friends. By that we connect, we come closer, we reveal ourselves. We create opportunities, it can take a long time but eventually we discover these points of contact, these points of nearness. We stopped seeing one another through our corporeal eyes. We see one another with our hearts. We connect the hearts to some extent points in the heart and then we feel a connection to your heart, we begin to put together the picture of the Creator. This is the meaning of ‘the picture the Creator he will see’ This is how we reveal the Creator.
25. S. (01:02:22) What is meant by the work of plowing?
R. The work of plowing is when we plow our will to receive and turn it from the will to receive to in order to bestow the intention to bestow. The will to receive, when we give it the intention to bestow, and it is willing to assist somewhat to the actions of bestowal, the forces of bestowa then we are able to connect between us in mutual bestowal to one another. When we continue to work on these points of sowing, we come to a state where we begin to see how the crops come out of the land, out of the seeds that we sowed and we come to reap and other types of work that we need to do, until we enjoy it and we we make the bread.
26. S. (01:04:11) In the beginning of the lesson you spoke about one desire and one intention. How do we check that in the ten we have one desire with one intention?
R. When you realize what is written between the connections between us. It is not to run away from the connection between us. The wisdom of Kabbalah speaks to the connection that exists between people. It starts with an egoistic connection until we take these scrutinies, and critically until we turn those things like I’m plowing. We turn things inside out and we come to a state where from these desires when we turn them inside out and we invert them the crops can come out of it.
27. S. (01:15:15) Do we enter Egypt and exit Egypt several times a day?
R. It is not exactly this way but you can say that. Yes, we are in exile and it seems as if we are coming from exile. We perform all those actions. We feel that somehow come out and we are back into it again. That is what is happening to us. Coming out of Egypt is one final exit where we begin to exist outside of it, above it. This is the crossing of the Red Sea and go into the desert of Sinai. These states, we have to go through, it’s not a problem. Their will to receive is bursting from within them and does not allow them to connect in any way. This already will give the Creator contentment. R. The state itself is not called a ‘prayer’. A prayer is how a person who wants to come to connection with others and from the connection to connection with the Creator and he cannot do it. 39. S. (01:37:23) When we feel corporeal deficiency it feels that we are enslaved by the will to receive so how do we come out of the slavery?
R. By going into the group and see among the friends how much they’re trying to come to the spiritual desire nonetheless.

R. A new force is the Creator turning to the Creator is on us and there is nothing here that can help our than trying to nevertheless submit yourselves before each other and all of you submit yourselves before the Creator and then you will receive the strength.
S. I feel we’re getting a lot but along with that we are getting a lot from the Creator and it comes together with complaints to the extent that I feel the complaints I also feel the revelation of the Creator between us. Meaning His revelation comes with a complaint, so I see myself a lot of times that I am complaining, but if I look at myself on this side I see it comes with a lot of good that I received. Do I always have to overcome these complaints and see that we are getting good and do these always come together?
R. Not always, but ultimately yes, it comes this way. We have to unite it into one force, this is certain that we have to do it and then turning to that one force we establish ourselves.
