Baal HaSulam. Introduction to The Book of Zohar. #67

1.Rav’s Introduction: Yes, here we need to remember again the meaning of the definitions that we can find in all of the books of Kabbalah, because the wisdom of Kabbalah first of all relates to the whole of humanity, and in the whole of humanity it distinguishes one group and according to the desire in that group, which is called Yashar Kel straight to the Creator. They have a desire to discover him to get closer to him to get to know Him, this is why it is called Yashar Kel, Israel, and those who at all times ascribe to themselves to that, they wanted to get to know the Creator, so they belong to that group. Actually it was always kind of a virtual group, Kabbalist lived in all kinds of places in different times, and they also belonged to all types of people. The most important thing for them was whether they had a desire to discover the Creator according to the law of equivalence of form, the primary one that we have in nature. Therefore, this is how we too should see these things that Baal HaSulam writes here. So try to give the right interpretation to the words of connection, love, unity, Israel, the nations of the world and so on.

Introduction to The Book of Zohar Item#67 (02:14)

2. R. (02:29) Yashar Kel that they want to reach straight to the revelation of the Creator to be incorporated with Him, to connect with Him. Which are the bodies, other desires and thoughts in a person, which, this is how they are called; all the desires in us which are not related to the attainment of the Creator.

3.R. (03:33) This means that the most important things that the person should aim himself entirely to come closer to the Creator according to the law of the equivalence of form and through this he needs to work in his connection with others and together with them as much as possible, to collect everyone and to aim it all to the Creator.

Reader continues “by doing so, he makes the children of Israel…”

4. R. (04:12) The children of Israel, meaning, all of those who are drawn to connection with the Creator through connection between them, so then they could succeed in that more and more, they rise higher and higher.

Reader continues and the nations of the world, which are the externality.

R (04:28) All kinds of people who have various other desires besides that of the Creator.

R. Yes, that towards them also that same disposition will operate, will work that is in the children of Israel and they too become impressed by it gradually.

Reader continues “and if God forbid it is to the contrary……”

5. R. (05:10) Meaning, if a person receive an inclination towards the Creator, to search for the Creator, to discover the Creator, however, he disregards that inclination that he has and he takes into consideration all kinds of desires and thoughts and inclinations that awakened him towards all kinds of other engagements in this world then.

Reader continues “then more than the quality of Israel in him as it is written…”

6. R. (06:03) Meaning, if a person is actually receive an awakening towards the attainment of the Creator, however, he neglects it, and he prefers all kinds of desires, and thoughts, and other interests in all kinds of businesses engagements in this world, upon or over coming closer to the Creator then….

Reader continues “with these actions he causes the internality of Israel…”

7. R. (06:56) All of those who engaged in the wisdom of Kabbalah and they want to retain the Creator to discover him and reveal him to everyone because this is the goal, this is the rule those who are drawn to the Creator, to attain Him, to obtain a connection with Him and to pull this connection all the way until He is revealed to everyone. Those who do not have a special desire, like the children of Israel but rather those who are drawn to the Creator will be as a passageway a conduit for all the people in the world as we call it, so if they are not doing it, then by that they cause those who engage in the wisdom of Kabbalah and they want to we reach the revelation of the Creator, they to grow weaker on the path, they let go and they sink lower and lower.

8. S. (08:02) What’s that discernment, the individual of Israel that looks at his internality and externality?

R. Each and every one of us that received at some moment in his life a desire to discover the Creator and he was directed from above because of course, the person doesn’t do anything by himself. A person doesn’t do anything down below if it is not directed from above. All In all we are operated beings and so each one of us received in some moment in his life a desire, a force, an opportunity, the ability to come closer to a state where he will be as a means for the attainment of the Creator and this is how we came closer to what we have today. So if we let go of this later on and we nevertheless prefer external engagements, it doesn’t matter which ones, then we seemingly replace the spiritual engagement with a corporeal engagement and by that we also cause the whole world to descend because instead of us being as those who elevate the world, each one of us and all of us together helping the world to raise to the spiritual degree, to pull it behind us, we do the opposite we make it go down. Therefore our fault is a great one.

S. It sounds like there’s Israel here which is my role with any of any connection to what I do and as much as I do is being towards Israel?

R. I don’t know what you’re saying. Anyone who receives some desire to come closer to the Creator, even the smallest one, and he disregards this desire, he is causing harm to the whole of humanity. But rather each and every one must understand that if he has a disposition towards the Creator, he is receiving it not only for himself for his own benefit, but also rather in order to be the passageway to the whole world, be the one who is pulling the whole world to the Creator. To function from both below upwards and from above downwards to be the one who connects the Creator to the whole of humanity.

9. S. (10:45) What then do we do with freedom of choice? It seems that Baal HaSulam was also sorry there were people who neglected the Torah, so it seems they themselves chose not to engage?

R. I don’t understand what it is you’re asking at all. What is the freedom of choice? It’s only after a person receives some drive, some inclination towards the Creator, then he can add to it his own exertion and by this he actualizes his free choice. If he doesn’t have anything towards that, if he doesn’t get any awakening from above then what choice can we talk about? Choosing between what and what?

S. The meaning is that then Baal HaSulam said before that there were people that kind of neglected or let go of the importance of the internality of the Torah. Did they themselves neglect it or did the Creator do that upon them?

R. No, it’s always according to man’s choice, there is only one thing where we have free choice is to come closer to the Creator after he awakens us or not to come closer. That there is free choice because it pertains to our spiritual development. In everything else in all of our actions or choices if you want to call it that, there is no choice in that we are all as it says that they all seemed as it’s beasts. It was hidden from us, we didn’t understand it, none of the engagements of this world is a person free. He does it because he’s compelled, you can call it his genes and hormones or no matter what. But the person just does it and that’s it, without his own involvement. Whereas if a person receives some connection with Godliness, then already free choice begins in him, the Creator brings him to the group, put his hand on a good fortune and says take that and all the rest depends on how much the person arranges an environment and he advances together with it to the revelation of the Creator.

10. S. (13:18) Other than studying three hours, disseminating, meeting with the ten, can we somehow add with our intention during work?

R. Intention can accompany a person in anything that he does. About any relation to what it is he’s doing that’s it and so we have to think all the time with which intention do we live. Even when we go to sleep, which intention do we fall asleep, with which intention do we wake up and with what intention do we go throughout the day, and it’s unrelated to your engagement whether you are out working at work or whatever it is.

S. We are constantly trying to somewhat add the effort, and therefore also the question is how to add to this so it will?

R. It’s only by strengthening the intention through the friends. As much as you are connected together, and each one is thinking not about himself but rather about the whole ten, first of all his individual intention is times 10 that’s one thing and besides that as he thinks about them, even at the time that he falls from this intention others start thinking about it so each one shall help his friend.

11. S. (15:22) At what stage of development can a person define the nations of the world in him?

R. When it’s clear to him the qualities, thoughts and desires with which he is yearning for adhesion with the Creator, all the rest, these are the nations of the world within him. The more you work on the right intention, more and more, you will be able to put a fence, a border between the nations of the world within you and the Israel within you.

12. S. (16:20) According to your experience, what is the most common problem that Kabbalah students stumble upon when they take the study of the concealed and study of Kabbalah in general?

R. The greatest disturbance Is that we have to awaken ourselves all the time, we constantly have to awaken and awaken ourselves to work to renewal and this is something that each one should search for himself, what kind of some kind of engagement in dissemination, something that is close to him, that will bind him with the intention to the Creator. I was writing books, there are those who make movies, those who make music songs for us, there are those who make corrections, fix computers for the friends, we do all kinds of things. So it’s desirable that we will perform some kind of actions between us that will strengthen the connection between us, then by that we will awaken each other. On your own it is almost impossible to reach a spiritual ascent.

S. According to what you’re saying, the work in the ten is not strong enough to have too many Innovations, we need dissemination as well?

R. It’s not to work, it is the person, the problem is the person. That the person has to be very strong, and that is not possible for him, because to begin with he is built in the system of Adam HaRishon which is in the form of a sphere of all the souls. So they’re all holding each other. But during the shattering that we exist in and we need to come back to the connection so we don’t have that mutual connection, that mutual support. We have to search for support, for at least physical support. This will also help us to have a more internal connection.

13. S. 19:06) In our state what is it to prefer a corporeal engagement, what is this neglect, how is it expressed?

R. A corporeal engagement we are talking about man’s work, whatever he has to do at home or in this work, with his bosses in the factory or whatever he is and this could be a problem. It can pull a person and draw him and confuse him and then he forgets about the purpose of his existence, that’s it.

S. I’m trying to understand, does that person have any control over his intention, frequency, what’s in the forces of the person here?

R. Just depends on the person, just depends on the person, the person should arrange himself such that whatever he is doing he will always have some connection, some relation to spirituality. In that way he will not forget about it. He will not forget about it.

S. What assures that I will not forget, what assures me not to disconnect in the middle of the day for a few hours even if I’m in dissemination for a few hours, what will hold me not to fall to corporeal engagements?

R. Your connection with the friends, your connection with the special particular work that you make for yourself, as it is called you shall make for yourself guards and officers along your whole path. When you put some special rings that the computer or phone will play for you, that friends will call you a few times a day, that’s it. Think about how we do it, that’s a must because without that the Creator demands that we want to have a connection between us and with him twenty-four hours a day. So as much as we try, that’s to our benefit and dissemination is very important in that because it obligates us to try to create connections with the external world, and in what form do we approach them and explain to them about the importance of our path which is already our inner world.

14. S. (21:59) I know I understood that replacing a spiritual with a corporeal one, he talks about the work that a person does at home or at work, at the factory, this can drag a person to forgetting about the purpose of his existence is that right?

R. It is not that there is such a connection, it is that when you are engaged with your corporeal work that you try to have some connection with your spiritual engagement. What does it mean an engagement? When I work on a machine or I’m a driver, I’m doing some counting at the office where I teach students, this is unrelated to my spiritual work, but I do want that inside of that nevertheless, there will be this intention that I am living in order to reach adhesion with the Creator why else am I doing it for?

S. Is there a connection between what a person does in his daily life and how it will influence his intentions, are there actions that will help him keep that more?

R. We can perform such actions that they will be closer to our intentions, this is why if you have spare time, the closest and most beneficial to the attainment of the spiritual goal is dissemination. Disseminating the knowledge of the Creator, the necessity to get to know the Creator to everyone.

S. It’s clear all my free time. I’m talking about the necessary time when a person is busy with his job or necessities, is there a time when you can work in this job or another? We already say it’s not connected, it’s very confusing to many of our students?

R. I don’t understand what is here to get confused about, of course I do work in something that pays in terms of the salary and it pays in terms of to what extent I may be related to that work very deeply and it might disconnect me or not from my spiritual work. Here I should prefer to be as close as I can to spirituality and to get as least confused with all the corporeal work. The best is to do some simple work, Kabbalists always preferred to do some simple work. Rabbi Yochanan was a cobbler or tailor or there were many such things, what kind of professions they had like that you see.

They would choose for themselves simple professions. Baal HaSulam wanted to establish in Jerusalem with his students some factory for processing leather, it’s very stinky work, it’s not clean, a very difficult one. He even brought machines from Poland in order to process those leathers because he thought that there won’t be too many people that want to do it and they would be able to work on that together and also to study. When he came to Jerusalem they realized that this was done by the Jerusalem Arabs and so there was no need for it really. So that’s how the Creator arranged it apparently for them so they didn’t engage in that, gradually they organized themselves each one of them to do their own work.

S. The advice now is to do a calculation on my workplace and all those kinds of things which we said it’s not worthwhile to look for spirituality but only look for connection in the ten otherwise it’s a place for confusion, how now to accept the advice you gave right now and not get confused in our workplace?

R. If one should search for the work in which he will be as little as possible confused with his intentions related to his corporeal work and will be more connected to his spiritual work that’s it.

15. S. (26:50) How does dissemination benefit the connection?

R. Dissemination is greatly helpful towards the correction of the soul, or from several angles. First of all you are disseminating the name of the Creator to the people, meaning you’re bringing them closer, maybe in an indirect way, a long round-about way but nevertheless you do bring them closer to connect to the mechanism of Adam HaRishon, to be together. You are learning how to publicize these things and how to talk about them and how to bring people closer, that is how to bring the souls closer to each other. You’re operating as the Creator’s representative among the human beings and therefore this work is very beneficial and respected work. This is why dissemination even if you are not talking or even writing but you’re helping in some way, something mechanical, nevertheless this is a participation, that it disseminates the name of the Creator in the world. For correction there is no work that is more important and we all of us, each and every one of us, should already be in that and it doesn’t matter which degree of understanding one is, we can already be in that and reach a state where it will greatly help us. Each one of us even some beginner student.

16. S. (28:57) Is the intention on its own an action and if we let’s say integrate with the external world and with that is it possible for us to hold on to the intention, does that strengthen the intention?

R. Look at what you’re saying, you’re saying the following. We connect to the external world, meaning we connect with some desires, and these external desires in our thoughts and in our desire, we want to bring them closer to us. So that we ourselves have the intention to come closer to the Creator, so by that you are already performing a spiritual action, truly a spiritual action. You don’t yet know it, you don’t yet feel it but it is a spiritual action because you’re bringing people closer to you and you explain to them and you perform a certain operation with them. Even if you’re not talking to them truly about the correction of the world, it’s already an action where you together with them, you’re bringing them closer to you and you start to raise them and elevate them to the Creator. Therefore there is nothing better than the act of dissemination. I highly recommend it.

S. If a person simply sits in his place and…?

R. This is worth nothing because it doesn’t have the right spiritual Intentions by which he can already turn his desires and bring them closer to correction spiritually and he cannot draw a light through himself and correct the souls, he doesn’t yet have the spiritual force and therefore this is worth nothing.

S. Meaning we are obligated to obligate ourselves to go out to the world and to connect to all those that are outside?

R. Yes, we need to see to what extent we can go out to the broad public, and explain to them about the method of correction of man in the world but in a subtle way. In a way that they will accept it correctly, and that we wont to cause any harm, we will not cause any harm to our whole organization, to our process, into the revelation of the Creator.

17. S. (32:14) There’s a kind of dissemination in which a person explains whether it’s a written article or some other way, explains to students about the spiritual work, and there’s a certain effect that stems from it, that you start to hear actually in this explanation and you start to explain it, you start to hear what Rav explained to you. Then you said we can also incorporate in the work, more technical work. Can it also appear here as a similar effect because what I described gives a lot of awakening and a person comes to his spiritual work in such a way, how technically can it work in such a way?

R. Each one should experiment with this and try to come closer to the correct dissemination nevertheless we do have to belong to it in some way. I don’t want to say more than this because it might cause confusion.

18. S. (33:33) Most of the work with the nations of the world is changing our attitude towards them?

R. It’s an order, well the essence of the work with a nations of the world in the person because inside of the person there is an inclination towards the Creator called Israel and all the other desires in the person that are not yet connected towards that inclination to the Creator, those are called the nations of the world within him. Our whole intention is, or the goal of our work is to join all of the qualities that we have inside of us which are called the nations of the world, to that intention of Israel.

S. Is that the test to see if I changed my attitude towards it?

R. Yes.

S. I don’t understand where the boundary is.

R. There is no boundary as much as possible. If you will succeed then you will start to feel that in that same inclination with the Creator, the Creator is revealed in it.

19. S. (35:00) If a person is truly from Israel how is it possible that he appreciates the externality upon the internal in him, what kind of bribe is that?

R. He has an inclination towards the Creator this is called Israel, Yashar Kel, straight to the Creator that’s it, a connection with the Creator and he has all kinds of other desires, all kinds of corporeal ones which ever you want, food, sex, family, money, honor, knowledge, right? 6 desires and the seventh one is towards the Creator, so what are you asking about what to do with these other 6 desires? Join them as much as possible also to whatever he is engaging with so that through them also there will be an inclination towards the Creator.

20. S. (36:30) You mentioned before the boundary between the nations of the world and the Israel within us, why do we need this fence and this internal boundary?

R. So we will not be confused and I will know exactly what I need to correct and what I have already corrected. It’s written about that, there’s a certain Mitzvah, you should put certain guards and policemen in all your gates.

21. S. (36:58) Is the extent to which my ten is yearning for a connection, is it my mirror, is that the extent to which I appreciate the internality above the externality?

R. To the extent to which I connect my inclination towards connection with the Creator with all my measures, I come to corrections, that’s very simple. It’s very general.

S. How is this related to the ten? Is the extent of how I see my ten yearning towards connection, does this actually mean the victory of my internality over my externality?

R. Yes.

22. S. (37:47) What to do with corporeal desires that I want to enjoy, should I add to them the intention towards the Creator, are there any corporeal desires to enjoy that are necessary, should I add intention to them as well?

R. We’re not allowed to disregard all the corporeal desires but try to do them in some form of connection with the Creator. Not to do it so that you are completely addicted to those lusts but that you’re allowed to use them and even bless them and use them but in such a way that it will help you with your advancement towards coming closer to the Creator.

23. S. (38:39) What does it mean to be a complete, clean conduit, passageway for the whole world?

R. A perfect whole transition from this world to the upper spiritual world is what we must do. So that through us the light will go through to all of the AHP, the nations of the world as we call them, to those souls that don’t have an inclination on their own to connect to the Creator, and we will perform the connection. That’s why we’re called Yashar El, directly to the Creator, that connects all the rest of the souls to the Creator. But we need to not forget that simply the greatest light and the end of correction is done when we move through our thin line, the upper light to all of the souls and when all of those souls begin to connect to it, then the light comes to the whole world, to all of reality and the end of correction. Meaning, we need to respect those souls that are at the time being, still disconnected from the connection with the Creator, and we can bring them this connection, and respect them greatly, consider them very highly because in the development of our path and the arrival of light through us to them, in them the end of correction takes place. When we are but a transition, a conduit as Baal HaSulam writes.

24. S. (40:27) In continuation to the six external desires and the one internal desire, how do we add these six external desires to the Creator, can you give concrete examples?

R. Through the intention food, sex, family, money, honor, knowledge through all our jobs, all our tasks we can connect them. It’s like Hesed, Gevura, Tifferet, Netzach, Hod, Yesod those Sefirot connect Malchut with Bina. That is something that we’re yet to learn that’s practical Kabbalah.

S. Can you give specific examples?

R. What specific example, you don’t have a connection between you what is there to talk about? Why do you think about such high things, that there’s no connection yet, you cannot yet rise to the first-degree. What examples can I give you? Clear?

Item 68: ” Do not be surprised that one person’s actions..” (41:40)

25. S. (43:18) Why, if someone succeeds in dissemination and that he becomes a Rav and he has thousands of students in a special role while somebody else doesn’t succeed?

R. You don’t have a question that someone becomes rich and someone is truly poor that doesn’t have what to eat, where someone now in Ukraine is running away from the bombings and someone is living in New York City sitting in a coffee shop and enjoying. Look at what happens in the world, these are the sentences of the souls and they are all in such a way because they are disconnected from one another. So each one has a different fate and only when we start to connect we can, to the extent in the connection between us, begin to feel the extent and which the abundance comes to those that have the great big desires to receive and accordingly great suffering, and those that have all the abundance and small pleasure. Meaning only through connection we can correct these states and prior to connection everything is a result of the shattering.

S. It’s clear that we’re all different, all human beings are different, we have different problems, but we need to yearn to be successful in our dissemination right?

R. Each needs to try to disseminate as much as possible the method of correction, and what you should expect to the extent to which the correction truly becomes to be realized then we start to be concerned about the correction and with that we will start to see the extent to which the correction comes to states in which the good is revealed from the connection between people to the extent there were cut sand slices, shattering, distancing between those pieces, the shatters, instead of darkness and the abyss that stands to be revealed there, the upper light the light of Ein Sof will come and caresses and connect us. Then it is called darkness shall shine as light. This is what we need to ask and expect.

S. Should we see our success in dissemination as 5000-10000, meaning reach numbers?

R. Yes, yes as much as possible the more students the better at the time being we can weigh, measure the success. Later we will see how to measure it in a more qualitative way. That’s how it is in all our engagements. There’s a difference between quantity and quality, at first quantity is important and then later quality is more important also in technological techniques and every kind of development it’s like that, so let’s start with the quantity.

26. S. (47:50) I don’t understand the example he’s giving here, everything that is in the general applies to the particular?

R. Through the breaking, the shattering we’re all Incorporated in one another, there’s a certain merging between us because of that but that’s why the world cannot correct itself without it correcting each and every one.

S. We don’t manage to understand it because I realize the collective works on the individual but the individual influences the collective, the whole that’s not clear.

R. The individual influencing the general, what’s not clear, if you have a general system in which everything is connected for everyone then of course if one individual is missing the system doesn’t work or doesn’t work like it should.

S. But the system is working on me, I operate the way the system is working, this is the way a person comes to balance with the entire system.

R. Where is his reward?

S. It’s only if he has awareness of his contribution but if he doesn’t have any awareness of what he can contribute then he’s like a beast in the general system.

R. Yes in that case what are you asking?

S. It says do not be surprised that one person’s actions bring elevation or decline to the whole world, how can the person even know what he is doing?

R. No, an individual from the general population there’s no calculation of them, it’s written about them that they go up and down without any calculation for themselves because there is no way for them to do a calculation with themselves, that’s clear.

S. We as you said are not connected on the first degree?

R. We have the ability to connect, the ability to work, it was given to us and that’s why our work is more important than even those that are in the spiritual degrees because our work is clear. it’s before us. With them it’s clear it’s ahead of them, for us no, we are in the implementation of our choice therefore we are important like babies that don’t quite participate yet in a clear way like little children. They don’t participate in the world in the building of the world. But the whole world is arranged actually in order to raise them, to grow them because they are the tomorrow of the world.

Item 69: ” From the above-said we can thoroughly understand that the Torah,” (50:30)

27. R. (51:20) This we already talked about that in each of us there are all kinds of desires food, sex, family, money, honor, knowledge, yes, which belong to Hesed, Gevura, Tifferet, Netzach, Hod, Yesod and in addition, an inclination on behalf of Bina that before HGT NHY and it is called bestowal or Yashar Kel, Bina, straight to the Creator. So if a person has a spark of Bina he operates according to that spark and advances that way, well to the extent that he works in that. If he works with the other desires HGT NHY then it’s considered that it belongs to the nations of the world. Therefore there is here work, in how through our participation in HGT NHY, which are the transition from Malchut to Bina, how do we see through these inclinations, these Sefirot, how can we rise from Malchut to Bina through this.

It’s clear to you, yes, what, should I draw it even such a thing maybe? I really don’t want this to be a drawing. We have like this, Bina and Malchut, yes? Here it’s Hesed, Gevura, Tifferet, Netzach, Hod, Yesod. So this is the degree of bestowing and this is the degree of reception, yes? This is called Israel and this is called the nations, the nations of the world, Olamot HaOlam. Here are these Sefirot, Hesed, Gevura, Tifferet, Netzach, Hod, Yesod. Yes? So whoever can use all these Sefirot in order to raise Malchut to Bina is called Yashar Kel, Israel, in practice and whoever can’t remain in his degree and he says it this way, I’m starting 69 again. From this above said we can thoroughly understand that the Torah too contains internality and externality.

The Torah, that part that illuminates on us from above and helps us perform all the actions to raise all of our desires from Malchut to Bina. It’s called light or Torah. Because also the Torah is internality and externality as is the entire world. Where the whole world is also incorporated from internality and externality and therefore one who engages in the Torah has those two degrees as well. When one increases one’s toil and internality of the Torah and its secrets, meaning that he wants to know the laws, the operations, the actions by which we can raise the whole world, himself and after him the whole world because otherwise he wouldn’t have the ability to rise. A person can’t rise, he needs to take the whole system and ascribe it to the Creator.

So while he increases his toil in the internality and its secrets to that extent he causes the raising of the value of the internality of the Torah, which is Israel, which belongs to Bina to rise upwards to the externality of the world which are the nations of the world. All of the nations will acknowledge and recognize Israel’s merit over them. Meaning that there is a higher degree which is the degree of Bina and this greater degree and the lower degree which is the degree of Malchut and the difference between these two degrees. It’s written and they all they will take, the people will take them and bring them to their place and the house of Israel will possess them in the land of the Lord. Meaning that all of these qualities that we’ll try to work in such a way in order to raise Malchut through all these degrees to the degree of Bina where all these qualities belong to the nations of the world to raise them upwards to raise Malchut to Bina. Also it’s written thus says the Lord God, behold I will lift up my hand to the nations and set my standard to the peoples and they will bring your sons in their arms and your daughters will be carried on their shoulders.

Meaning the Creator will cause all Malchut with all of its desires and the shattering that is there for it all to rise through HGT NHY to Bina. If it’s the opposite, to the contrary, where a person from Israel degrades the merit of the internality, meaning the one that has a connection of Bina, lowers the level of the internality of the Torah and its secrets which deal with the conducts of our souls and it’s degrees. Meaning how to raise all the souls to the degree of Bina, to the Creator and also as far as the intellect and the Mitzvot we should know how to do this in order to bestow, towards the externality of the Torah which deals only with the practical part. Meaning at first not just to perform actions but food everything to be with the intention of our heart and even if one does occasionally engage in the internality of the Torah meaning truly correct everything in order to bestow and he dedicates a little of one’s time to it when it is neither day or night. Meaning however he can somewhat he thinks about this at some time, as though it was something that was redundant, by this one disgraces and degrades the internality of the world, which are the children of Israel, and raises the externality of the world over them which are the nations of the world.

They will humiliate and disgrace the children of Israel and will regard Israel as redundant ,as though the world has no need for them. Meaning, by that lowers the importance of spiritual attainment and lowers the whole world to a degree where no one thinks or is interested in spiritual ascent of the world. Furthermore, but by this they make even the externality of the nations of the world to overpower their own internality for the worst among the nations of the world which are harmful and destructors of the world, rise above their internality who are the righteous of the nations of the world and then they make all the ruin and the heinous slaughter that our generations had witnessed, may the Creator protect us from here on. Meaning that it all depends on the extent in which we try and yearn to bring ourselves and the whole world to the degree of the Creator.

Reading Item 69 again (01:00:36)

28. S. (01:04:35) We are trying to connect and we don’t succeed. We come to a state of prayer, the prayer is qualitative, and the Creator gives us a certain illumination and some of that illumination goes down to the world. Is this the only approach to changing the world?

R. There is another means to perform a change in the world but it is through great suffering. Not through the positive force which is the light that will influence from above according to our request but rather through the sufferings that arrive from below, and bestow upon us from below. Then the sufferings can also soften our egoistic desire and help us to somewhat distance ourselves from our egos. But this is a long and very difficult path, and we don’t want suffering, therefore we run away from those corrections that come as a result of suffering, even though that is also a means for correction. Therefore, the wisdom of Kabbalah looks at a created being that is between these two forces, the force of good and the force of bad, and recommends to him how to use the force of good. Through the force of good we have a great preferential attitude towards the suffering and the bad, where we want to connect to the Creator by making steps on our behalf towards him whereas with suffering where we’re stabbed from behind, we were on our way from them and then by that come to the Creator. Of course there is such an article also that although we don’t understand what way the Creator wants to accompany a person whether in the way of good or in the way of bad, but when it’s revealed, it’s revealed as certainly the path of good. There are many such states that we discover like the city of Shushan was perplexed and they didn’t know where the justice is, but actually the Creator wants good corrections that we ourselves bring forth by asking from Him to destroy the intention in order to receive and to give us, in place of that, the intention in order to bestow.

30. S. (01:08:13) You said that the rising of Malchut to Bina happens through HGT NHY. But we don’t see where YESHSUT is in there [referring to the diagram]?

R. Malchut rises to Bina through the Sefirot that are between Bina and Malchut. Between Bina and Malchut, are the Sefirot, Hesed, Gevura, Tifferet, Netzah, Hod, Yesod. I didn’t write Yesod there [referring to the diagram], here we need the Yesod, and six Sefirot, altogether six.

31. S. (01:09:28) He asked about the influence of the light from the Creator to the world and there is an influence of the prayer and also the suffering of the world which softens our hearts and causes us to turn to the Creator with a prayer. So it turns out that either way is it only our prayer towards the Creator?

R. Correct but what is the reason, the reason why we are turning to the Creator, from it being bad for us because we’re suffering or because what is the motive that is making us move or that we want to bring something good to the Creator for him to be delighted by it? Those are the two motivations, the two reasons to turn to the Creator. So if we do it in order to do good to Him that’s a nice could correct way and good reason, we identify with them, whereas if we’re suffering and turning to Him so it is as if no matter how you spin it we’re turning to Him because we went to get rid of the suffering and therefore in that we are distant from the quality of bestowing.

S. Also, is that the reason for anti-Semitism in the world because the people of Israel is not turning to?

R. Certainly, that’s the only reason that the nations of the world hate the Jews is because they feel that Jews bring forth the bad to the whole world, and to rid themselves from that, to correct this, we can only buy those Jews specifically, disclosing and revealing to everyone the need for their existence, why they exist and what work they need to do in order to create a connection between all the nations of the world with the Creator, with the upper force, and only in such a way everyone will understand what the role of Jews are in all of this reality. Where these are special souls from all over the world, that are in each and every nation such souls which all need to unite and perform a connection between all the people in the world and the Creator. Then anti-Semitism and hatred will stop, and also peace and perfection will come to the whole world, to all of humanity. That needs to be revealed already as we call it, in the last generation.

S. It’s clear, and it’s also obligating.

R. This needs to awaken us all because we belong to that connection between all the nations of the world and the Creator, which is called Yashar Kel, direct to the Creator. One that receives a relationship to this connection is called Israel or Yashar Kel, or direct to the Creator; it’s not a matter of nationality but rather a connection between Malchut and Bina.

32. S. (01:13:47) In the drawing this indicates that Sefirot HGT NHY are raising Malchut to Bina. Now we know that these desires have nothing to do with spirituality, we just need to use them in a necessary way and not to sink into them. How do we make it so that they take Malchut to Bina?

R. As much as one will be connected, belonging to connection not understand this whole system and enter and study the wisdom of Kabbalah but to the extent in which he understands that the connection of the world brings forth perfection to the world, calm to the world, abundance to the world, and joy, this will help everyone. All together we need as much as possible to advertise to the world that the measure of connection between us all is what needs to help us come to the knowledge of the Creator, perfection, and all the good that there is.

33. S. (01:15:15) In what way will the nations see Israel as important?

R. It is not that they will consider Israel more than others, soon yet we will read item 70 and it will be clear what will happen, but eventually everyone comes to the form of a circle and returns to the same system of Adam HaRishon and reveals the Creator equally to each individual soul and all of us together and we all come to the degree of the Creator. From this world to through all the worlds we rise and are incorporated in Ein Sof.

S. What example does Israel want to show the nations of the world?

R. That connection is our salvation.

S. How can an external get an example of something internal?

R. That, you are already talking about matters of dissemination, and I’m not talking about that now. We are talking about the principle. If you want to get to know Him. This is the principle of nature as it all needs to be in a mutual connection. This is a system of nature that is made this way, is built this way, a law of the system. There is nothing here that is good for me, it is bad for me, is it worthwhile or not. This is the system. You want to get to know it, then please. No? This won’t resolve you from being incorporated in it. So it is worthwhile to know and to learn nevertheless how and in what way is it possible for us to bestow upon the world otherwise, if not nuclear bombs then it will be hurricanes, cold waves, or hot waves that will come and finish us off.

S. Can I ask about the approach to dissemination? I have a friend that is very devoted to the path, the lessons, and when we talked about the dissemination he says he is not ready yet he is waiting for the right time and then he will do it. Is that the correct approach?

R. That is not the correct approach, but it is known to us. It is familiar and this comes from him not yet accepting this method as real, correct, and necessary.

34. S. (01:18:30) Does it help a person to know his personal tendency to certain desires like knowledge?

R. No, completely not. What inclinations are in a person, as long as he comes closer to spirituality he engages in what he needs to engage, and not that he has some special tendency for this or another one to it. He sees his inclinations and accordingly he looks at it as much as he can to help the correction of the vessel.

35. S. (01:19:19) When a person disseminates, does he do it in order to recognize the nations within himself?

R. Yes. Every advancement in spirituality makes the desires in him that are related to the animate and speaking level more prominent.

36. S. (01:19:45) Why does using desires below Bina, according to your drawing, make Israel, Israel? What happens then? Why do you increase the internality in that?

R. Because all of these qualities from Malchut to Bina are when Bina performs actions on itself to create, to build, to give birth to Malchut. That is why Malchut accepts upon itself, gradually, qualities through Netzah, Hod, YesodTifferet, Gevura, Hesed and the Bina, when it rises back up then by that it corrects itself to the degree of being Bina, and it is not that it becomes Bina but acquires the qualities of Bina upon itself. Malchut remains Malchut but when it is wrapped, like in this drawing [referring to diagram], when it is wrapped it is enveloped by these qualities Yesod, Hod, Netzah, Tifferet, Gevura, Hesed, and Malchut seemingly becomes like Bina in order to bestow. That is basically its work on itself.

37. S. (01:21:13) Where is the ten, in Bina or Malchut?

R. Where you determine where it should be. It all depends on those who participate.

38. S. (01:21:32) I see a friend prefers externality over internality. Should I remind her, tell her, or only show her from my example?

R. By example. By an example.
