Part 2:

Baal HaSulam. The Freedom. (Ancestral Heritage)

Reading (00:25) “Ancestral Heritage”

1. R. (04:27) Well he didn’t open it sufficiently. We see he also talks about it, we have to continue. In the meantime if there are questions please go ahead.

2. S. (04:46) What does it mean that I am a result of everything that came before me?

R. Of course.

S. So what’s the uniqueness in me or am I just a result?

R. We will soon see, he says that there is one.

3. S. (05:11) Who are the fathers?

R. The ancestors who came before you.

S. My previous states?

R. States, I don’t know. Something that you are a result of. Dinosaurs, I don’t know.

4. S. (05:52) I heard lately that they were able to make two cells that you can make a human from.

R. I didn’t hear about it.

S. It was on the news.

R. I don’t listen to the news.

S. What will happen if they join two cells, what ancestral heritage will it give because all we pass is education.

R. No, there are other things that we don’t know.

S. So how does that go?

R. He writes here on ancestral heritage, so what exactly do we have in ancestral heritage I don’t know. He says ancestral heritage is all the forces and tendencies that came to him by inheritance into his source which is the first matter of every person, meaning the essential drop of his progenitors.

S. How does spirituality go from one to the other on the corporeal level because in the Arvut article he says one way is suffering and the other is our ancestral heritage and that’s the main thing. That’s the main part so how if we attained a high degree once how did it go through the corporeal world and go through all of reality and history to the nation of Israel?

R. Corporality is an external wrapping and in it an inner tendency is expanding.

S. But how does it go through the cells?

R. I don’t know, it’s the secrets of nature what do you want from me? We don’t know. It is a force and what way it passes? I still cannot say, there aren’t even words for it.

5. S. (08:23) We see something that Kabbalists write, that there’s a descending of the generations. Meaning we were in some state, some spiritual attainment and now there’s a blur. If we’re a result of spiritual attainments why did they disappear?

R. I don’t know. I didn’t learn that there is a descent or decline of the generations.

6. S. (08:57) He says that development of the wisdom depends on contradiction and criticism and that is what lets humanity develop and the wisdom develop. We always take ourselves toward connection and being one and here it says that the advancement depends on contradiction.

R. But you can’t come to contradictions and conflicts if you have no tendency for connection.

S. How does that go together?

R. It goes together because then you discover one thing and its opposite. Otherwise how would you discover it, how would you reveal it?

S. In connection there’s a desire to reach love, that a person takes whatever separates and puts it on the side and doesn’t deal with it. Here I understand that specifically when we scrutinize something we can get more precise and developed but it’s like it doesn’t go together, it’s two opposite things. If we bring in criticism and contradictions into the ten it will all burn in fire, there won’t be love there.

R. The ten is still not the system that can develop through the breaking but we see that all the developments come specifically from within the breaking, from the distance, even from wars.  That these two forces, connection and disconnection have to complement one in the end, you can’t help it.

7. S. (11:19) He writes that all his spiritual possessions are part of his subconscious. Meaning all of reality is in our subconscious but we’re not aware of it?

R. Yes.

S. So all of our work is to reach awareness of all of reality, that’s what’s written here?

R. Yes.

8. S. (11:53) He writes that each individual has his own opinion, everyone is different from one another, each one has its own attainments and we must keep everybody’s uniqueness. What does it mean to guard the individual?

R. It is to give each one the freedom to develop according to his own internal conditions.

S. How do we know what they are, what nature is and how to not harm him? We don’t know what a person is made of.

R. I don’t know. I know only one thing, if you want to let a child develop correctly let him do what he wants.

S. Without limits?

R. Almost, so he doesn’t harm himself or others but basically yes.

9. S. (13:10) This term forefathers is that different for each one too?

R. His answers to us are all the tendencies he acquired from the ancestors, from the ones who came before him without spiritually, we’re talking about corporeality.

S. That’s confusing but I have also a different opinion. Let’s say with my friend here, so we have different ancestors because I’m a result of my ancestors and he’s a result of his ancestors?

R. We can’t talk about you right now because you went through many incarnations and changes and you yourselves don’t understand what’s happening to you or who you are so in this way we can’t study it.

S. So it doesn’t matter really.

R. No, no, it’s not a clean research.

10. S. (14:23) What’s the purpose of the differences between us? Why is there such a feeling of differences and how to work with it?

R. So in the end we connect into the form of one man.

S. So you’re saying that if I want to let a kid develop I leave him alone? The feeling of letting him do what he wants is very limited, not to be in indifference between us or to push each other. There are friends who have a desire for an inner cry and there’s an opportunity and there are others that feel that maybe we should rest a bit.

R. Yes.

S. So how to gather all of this together?

R. This we will have to learn in a course for education.

S. And we’ll end with a big desire for a prayer? It has to take place.

R. I don’t know, I’m not dealing with this. If you are asking me what to do, teach the boy according to the boy’s way, that’s what’s written.

11. S. (15:57) I don’t understand, what does it mean his own way? His way is the will to receive.

R. Of course, so what?

S. So we see all of humanity is developing according to their own way.

R. From each one a special animal should come out, emerge, special. So even if he doesn’t correct himself you will not spoil him through your education

S. Where do we interfere with the education? We do want to aim, we do want to correct, to change an attitude.

R. The most important is to teach him as we are learning now, that we want to be incorporated in the ten. By this you teach him how to be similar to the Creator and similar to the society.

S. In what can I harm through education?

R. How can you harm or spoil? You can bring it into a different form of the development where he’s not incorporated in the environment, where he doesn’t listen to the sages. I don’t know, there are many things. Okay guys, enough for today. We see that we should and the lesson we shouldn’t.
