Rabash. Article No. 28, 1986. A Congregation Is No Less than Ten
Reading “A Congregation Is No Less than Ten”
1. S. (31:48) The allegory here, where he tells about the guest that came and worked all night and they prepared a meal and then he knows how to appreciate it because they prepared it for him and this gave him great joy. If we take this for us what exactly do we need to be joyful about?
R. We are as Baal HaSulam writes in the last generation and certainly we are also in a special movement with such texts that were not revealed to the previous generations in the same amount, in the same focus, such sharpness, with a clear approach to the goal. It seems to us that it’s all simple but it’s not so.
People would live for dozens of years, hundreds even thousands and they didn’t know what they were living for and they didn’t have the question of what are we living for, what is the purpose of life, what is the goal that nature or the Creator has arranged for us this life specifically and we already live in a time where more or less we begin to open up these things, to approach them and we need to this that indeed the host apparently did great work in order to serve this to us and we should appreciate that we were born in a special time, that we live, we exist in a special time and besides that, that in this special time the Creator has arranged for us to society, he gave us a teacher Rabash, Baal HaSulam and so on and we can open up somehow a little bit the secret of life for us and get closer to opening it up and having a feeling it touching it. This is all very special because for thousands of years people lived like animals the only thing was to live and they know that in the end we just die and that’s it whereas it’s not the same for us. We want to attain the Creator, we have a method how to do it, how to get closer to him and the Creator had prepared for us a very special future.
S. When we’re not in such a state of gratitude that you described that is causing sorrow to the Creator? If we are not in this gratitude that you just described are we causing by that sorrow?
R. Of course. In this example with the host and the guest, that the guest says it’s not too bad, it’s okay, I’m used to it and I just eat this way or that way or I don’t even care about what I’m eating, I’m on a diet or something like that.
S. You once told us about Rabash that when at one point he wasn’t joyful and he started putting on music and he started dancing so from that example we need to have constantly this fight for having gratitude?
R. Yes, Rabash would not allow himself to just drop in his mood. He would close himself in a room in his apartment, in the living room and he would sing and dance. He would sing by himself and dance and this is how he would activate his body until he would come out of such states. When I saw this for the first time I was amazed. It felt like coercion, coercing himself, he did that forcefully.
S. If our work is in the ten then how do we care for our ten to have this upliftment?
R. Yes we should look at each and every one of the friends and see whether we can add to the awakening of the friends somehow. This is very important and precisely in states were seemingly we have no reason to jump and be happy.
2. S. (38:40) You get into a room and jump around to awaken oneself. What to do with a friend who feels that he has no strength that he’s awakened?
R. What should he do or what should we do?
S. Both.
R. He needs to try nevertheless to change his state through all kinds of means and therefore our life is arranged in such a way that we have families and work so that we get out of the house and all kinds of other engagements possibly and besides that there is a society. Why is there this matter of the synagogue? It’s a house, a place where people get in and they can be impressed by each other, that’s how it started. And the prayers, prayers in the public as the sages established it is also in order for them to be inspired by each other so they get accustomed to each other so they can carry each other into the Minyan, the form in such ten’s. This is the matter of many dozens of years.
S. When a person is aware of it that he doesn’t have any strength, doesn’t have inspiration he knows about the conditions but he doesn’t have it he just goes and deteriorates from day to day where can he get strength from?
R. He cannot do it by himself. It’s written about it that the prisoner cannot deliver himself from imprisonment, he cannot. Only something that comes from the side from some peripheral force but if a person let’s say instead of being among the friends if he goes to another place where there are no friends then the new society influences him. Even if he doesn’t know them, doesn’t connect with them nevertheless it influences him so what to do then? It’s a big problem and we have such friends also. People are not aware of how much these things that are seemingly small, how much influence they have. Especially not only over him but of over his children so that his children now become incorporated in this new places where they move there and then they will bring home a completely new spirit.
S. So how can one protect oneself from that?
R. Only by being connected into this place what we call Torah, to be connected there.
S. How can the ten and the society help such a friend?
R. Through strength in him. To create such actions in him to help him to be more solidified and help him stay with the friends, try to establish all kinds of interconnections and new conditions wherever they are living. Well you should check for yourself how to strengthen the friends.
S. When he writes here a synagogue meaning a place of gathering.
R. Yes, it’s truly a place of gathering.
S. What is that? You can connect to the group to the ten from anywhere?
R. The synagogue or literally a place of gathering is like a club, a place where people come in order to study in order to grow stronger on the path, in order to scrutinize the goal and this is how they advance even though each and every one of them has questions and difficulties but by them being connected with each other each one can learn from the other, he can see how the other one lives, how it is possible to live and how to grow stronger. We can become Incorporated in the general spirit.
S. How do we shift, how do we move from the synagogue, from this club, this external place of gathering to the internal of place of gathering? How do we shift from this place of gathering where we get together and we’re impressed by each other into a more internal synagogue?
R. It depends on how much you appreciate this place.
S. What do you mean?
R. It could be that I come here in order to play cards and it could be that I go there in order to read an article. Both this and that are a group action but it depends on if it’s for the group. What is the group for? A synagogue is something that is arranged a long time ago, years ago.
3. S. (45:19) What we call direct light is that a condition from the Creator that one comes to the synagogue and he expects a person and people come to the synagogue with their own desires? From our side there’s also a desire that we need to somehow be suited for it, to the direct light.
R. I don’t understand the question.
S. It says in the article that the Creator comes to the synagogue and he doesn’t see a person. It’s like he comes first and when we come to the synagogue do we discover that our desires are incorrect?
R. Again please. What did he say? I hear half a sentence.
S. I’m trying to explain. Is the Creator discovering that our desires are incorrect, that we are still not one man or does it come from our side this recognition?
R. Again, try again.
S. It says direct light and reflected light. That the Creator comes to the synagogue and he waits for a person to come. That he’s already there before us. Now when we enter the synagogue where does this recognition come from that there still isn’t this suitability between what the Creator is demanding and what we.
R. You feel this when there’s no congruence between the demand from above and what we discover from below.
S. Is this a matter of shame?
R. It’s not a matter of shame, it’s a state.
4. S. (47:38) The Creator says I’ve come to the temple and there is no one, everyone is only praying for their beast. Only if ten together enter then they can become Adam, a person. What does that mean?
R. That they connect to a single goal more or less and they want to reach it. Then their effort is the effort of Adam, of a human not of a beast. This is how they reach it.
S. He’s constantly repeating this, that only at the same time, and only ten and no less and this state it’s not simple. How to become ten simultaneously and only then one can receive?
R. How do we connect into ten, into a correct ten? If we realize that our goal is to be connected as one man with one heart and that we need in our effort to attain the Creator. What is the Creator? The force of bestowal.
S. What is the condition to become one, what are we lacking?
R. What is the condition to become one? That we will have one goal, that we all want to be connected mutually with each other in such a way, then we will all be as one. And then according to the condition that one receives one we begin in our connection, as much as we try to be as one, we begin to feel the Creator. He begins to be revealed from afar and then closer and closer.
5. S. (50:14) He writes here when will we be able to understand the matter of ten? When the Creator asks why have I come and there is no one there meaning there is no person there. Meaning the kingdom of heaven is the ten Sefirot to pray for the exile of divinity of Shechina and this is called Shechina in the dust. If the Creator does not find ten there that means that I have advanced and I’ve given you a desire, an awakening to come to the synagogue to give you a desire to pray for the exile of Shechina. And He does not find one to pray for the ten but finds that everyone prays for what relates to animals, to beasts and not to people. How to pray correctly, how can we pray a correct prayer of people and not beasts?
R. You want to connect together, you want to reach a single deficiency. This deficiency can be directed towards the Creator. You need to connect between you in such a way that there is between you a place for the revelation of the Creator; you need to prepare a place for Him to receive, to welcome the guest. Then you turn to Him and you ask that He will truly land between you, that He will enter between you as a guest, and you accept Him and honor Him.
S. What’s this addition that the Creator finalizes the prayer? Without it the prayer isn’t finalized?
R. Because He begins the prayer, He builds a deficiency in you and you through this deficiency begin all kinds of actions. And in His non-stop bestowal and influence over you He awakens in you all kinds of deficiencies and thoughts. Through that you come closer to each other more and more until you begin to understand what all of this is for and what is it you need to do with the deficiency that you received from the Creator.
S. Lastly he writes here at the end everything will be accumulated to one big calculation until we’ll be rewarded with faith permanently. What is this gathering of prayers? Do we do it, does the Creator do it, what is this?
R. You, each and every one of you needs to add his prayer to the others so that in every ten there will be one prayer.
S. We try to do that daily but it turns out that we always end up putting together some kind of prayer instead of from every word, from every sentance. It sounds that it’s different from what Rav is now saying, that there’s a prayer of each and every one.
R. We want the Creator to connect the prayers, that He will put it together, that He will do it for us. We’re not quite capable of that. So if the Creator as He created us, arranged us and brought us to the connection between us physically, He will also make inside of us an inner connection. Then we for sure will be able to feel ourselves as one man with one heart.
6. S. (54:19) If I come and go and sit at the table in front of the host and the room is the most beautiful room in the world, the refreshments on the table as I taste them, I had no idea how good they could be, everything just tastes beyond perfect. And the host is the most beautiful person in the world, there’s nothing greater than everything on the table. In that same moment how can I like in the allegory, how can I lift the host to something beyond that same moment?
R. Through the for friends, it’s very difficult to do it by yourself. By what will you get more and more deficiency to elevate the Creator beyond what He is?
S. The table is on the highest level or standard in terms of its flavors. How can the friend extract something when every taste is more than perfect?
R. It all depends on the importance, all the rest depends on the importance, the place before you, this set table, you begin to taste, each and every taste will be more flavorful and more important. It’s on the condition that you appreciate the host more.
S. If the host is the most important thing for me in life meaning I have nothing more important than the host; I’ve checked I have nothing more important. Now He’s here and hosting me. There’s a feeling that we’re not in the right place, that this entire meal is in exile and the host isn’t in his regular place, because of me He’s not in His actual place. How can I help Him to be in His natural place because He’s constantly suiting Himself to me, where I am and He isn’t is in His place. How can I help Him be at His table, at His place with His beloved?
R. The Creator in his place is according to how you appreciate Him. If you appreciate Him more than you seemingly move Him to a more important place.
S. Where else can I get the means when they will become more important?
R. Only from the environment, only from the environment. The environment can supply you with such power that you will not stop thinking about the Creator in any state or degree. It’s all only the environment.
S. A mother constantly thinks of her child, she constantly thinks of her child. How does the mother make her child greater in one day in her eyes?
R. I don’t know. This is a question that I cannot answer
7. S. (59:00) There’s a will to receive, a will to bestow and in the beginning of the article Rabash writes about yearning. What is it? Is it a result of love because it feels like this is what truly brings you to the Creator?
R. There is a deficiency and there is yearning. Yearning is above the deficiency, it’s when I have a passion that I have to achieve. This is called yearning or craving.
S. Can we check our desire in that way?
R. Yes.
8. S. (59:59) How can we receive the burden of the Kingdom of Heaven as something whole, complete?
R. Again.
S. How do we reach receiving the burden of the Kingdom of Heaven as something that is whole, complete?
R. By changing our desires. That other than feeling and being under the forces of the Creator, the actions of the Creator, that He’s pressuring us, that He’s advancing us we don’t want anything. I want to feel myself His force. That He will push me, that He will accompany me, that He will show me the goal. That’s what I want, for Him to dominate me.
9. S. (01:01:13) We don’t want to take upon ourselves the burden of the Kingdom of Heaven all the time, it’s scary to do it. Will this fear continue until the end of correction?
R. Until the end of correction I don’t know, we will advance and we will see.
10. S. (01:01:34) They all need to be there at once and not come one by one. They’re asking about one at a time. Does it mean that we should aspire to achieve Arvut before we turn to the Creator?
R. Preferable.
11. S. (01:01:54) Can two become a Minyan, a quorum?
R. Yes.
12. S. (01:02:03) If a friend is in a decline and usually she’s just enjoying the meetings of the ten or lessons because of corporeal things, is it enough that we pray for her or can she receive the power only by being incorporated in the environment?
R. If I will pray for them that could be enough.
13. S. (01:02:30) What does it mean the sin of Adam HaRishon?
R. When it becomes reception in order to receive.
14. S. (01:03:09) How do we reach complete and permanent faith?
R. Complete and permanent faith is the final correction, that is the end of all degrees.
15. S. (01:03:46) We read a very special article now and in truth I feel we feel we have a very special society and friends that are really very determined to advance towards the goal who are full of forces. It’s written serve the Lord with joy. How come sometimes we have a feeling of down, everyone seems to be miserable? We have the highest goal in the world, the most special thing and we have a method how to achieve it and suddenly this one that is weak, the other one has no forces, why do we have this? What is the purpose of it, why do we go through it?
R. We can’t constantly be in happiness instead of heaviness.
S. Not of all the time but now it’s a Shabbat lesson we have an opportunity to..
R. What? People are experiencing all kinds of individual states. They only just got up and came here from sleeping, from sleepiness, from rest. They haven’t yet resuscitated, give them some time.
S. We have an hour and a half approximately but what do you mean give them time? I’m sure you’re not serious in what you’re saying now.
R. Why not serious?
S. Well they got up and got here. Is somebody doing a favor here? It sounds like I need to carry someone on my back?
R. True, so what? I accept this state as it is. They come? Good. They received at least some desire to get out of bed and come here, also good. They are sitting here opening a book? Good. They want to connect and hear something even with half an ear, also good.
S. Each one of these sentences is true, thank God but the most precious thing, the happiest place, the place where we have an opportunity to get closer to the Creator, the only place where we can truly rise above this life..
R. True, they’re in that state now. We have the opportunity to start raising ourselves from the state that we’re in above.
S. So this understanding itself should give us joy.
R. Okay, it’s just a place and it could be filled with joy.
S. L’Chaim Bnei Baruch.
16. S. (01:07:08) I always heard that man is the guest of the host. Today I heard that the Creator could be our guest. What is the state where we are inverting this situation?
R. We have such things. For example a guest came to our Sukkah, so the Creator comes to our Sukkah. Yes?
S. How do we prepare ourselves for such a meal? What do we have to prepare for Him, what does He like?
R. He likes us doing something for Him. Most importantly connection and that our hearts are yearning for His fulfillment, that He will fulfill our hearts.
S. And this is also our effort to..?
R. Yes, yes of course.
17. S. (01:08:35) To continue with the friend who asked how to be in joy, how to wake up and be in all kinds of states that we all go through, I’m asking here how do we reach a decision once and for all?
R. There’s no such thing. In every single moment you will have to exert. Why isn’t that good?
S. I didn’t say it’s not good but continuing the scrutiny of the friend who said we need to constantly strengthen the friends and be in a common prayer, in the common deficiency I’m saying according to what he says towards the end of the article it doesn’t start and end here in the morning lesson, it continues later. How do we continue it truly so it will be once and for all? It won’t just end here in the morning lesson and then we go out and he says that we shouldn’t pray like beasts. How do we go out and tell ourselves honestly that we are going to continue with what we received here, we’re continuing it onwards because I think this is what is most important, to strengthen each other. It’s not just here in the morning lesson but to truly go out and not to pray as beasts, to be straight to the Creator, to give the Creator contentment every moment.
R. Now pray, why go out somewhere? I don’t understand. Now is the time of the prayer. You need to feel one another, get close to one another, with closeness of the hearts.
S. What should we ask for right now?
R. I don’t know. Check your heart each and everyone and see what you should ask for.
18. S. (01:10:48) The friend’s question I think was about this specific thing that Rabash writes about in the end, that a person is assuming the kingdom of heaven to be once and for all, for his whole life, for eternity. How do we reach such a state?
R. Well not all once. What do I understand about eternity that I can ask for it? I need to know what is eternity, what are the boundaries, if I’m in it or not? I’m seemingly crying but it’s not serious because that deficiency, that vessel, I lack it.
S. It’s clear. He says bit by bit and then he says everyone at once, that the prayer has to be whole. So how do I get close to that state, that it’s really all at once?
R. I guess it starts when each one cries as much as they can until you see that nothing will come out of it and it has to be all of us together. In this you come closer to it. This takes place like that in all of us, in all of us.
19. S. (01:12:23) I wanted to ask about the matter of the ten. What does it mean that the ten becomes a vessel?
R. It’s according to what we learned from above in the 10 Sefirot. Until the influence from the upper one gets to the lower one, that influence, that bestowal has to go through all degrees before it gets to the form in which the lower one can receive it.
S. But when he writes not nine and not eleven, is it an essential thing or is it in quantity?
R. Both, it’s both.
S. Why both?
R. It’s both essential and quantitative.
S. In quantity it can’t be a vessel if there is no ten?
R. No. You have different qualities that one cannot replace the other. You have ten, what can you do? There incorporation in one another brings you wholeness.
S. Ten bodies you mean?
R. Bodies, desires, lights, records, everything is according to the ten.
S. Clear. Because if I look at the tens there are tens that are way more than ten.
R. That doesn’t matter. The mechanical number of the bodies in this world means nothing.
S. So what does it mean that between bodies from them you created ten, no matter the number of bodies but from them they bring out a ten?
R. That they are able to bestow to one another completely according to their effort, their state.
20. S. (01:14:50) When he says that they need to pray for the tenth, for the Malchut, is Malchut something that exists in the ten, is it outside of the ten?
R. The Kingdom of Heaven kingdom is the Malchut that is connected to the Keter. That’s why it’s called Kingdom of Heaven.
S. In the ten how do we locate that Malchut, that you can only pray for that?
R. I don’t get it.
S. The ten is in exile so it’s not the kingdom of heaven but we have to pray for that. How do we reach that state that we locate?
R. You need to connect the ten and connect its Malchut so it would be ready to receive everything it deserves from the Keter, everything that comes to it from the Keter. Then it will be called Kingdom of Heaven, very simple.
21. S. (01:16:17) How do we as a ten when we meet, unite check that we’re really a ten and the Creator won’t come and say there was no person?
R. We read about so many discernments here, how the ten should look. So what’s the question?
S. How do we make this check as a ten? We have a lot of meetings, activities but it seems like we’re always lacking something.
R. Something is lacking.
S. And we have to end with a prayer all the time so I guess we’re doing something in the connection that the Creator sees that it’s not whole yet. The question is how can we check our connection so the Creator will see there’s a ten and not a place with no person?
R. I guess that we still don’t feel what it means to be a complete ten and consequently we cannot activate that deficiency in full. What are we lacking? Connection nothing else, connection between us when we combine all of our deficiencies into one deficiency and present it to the Creator.
S. You say connection many times, we always try to do it this thing called connection. So why are we failing here? What is this connection because it’s not just connecting a few beasts?
R. No it’s when each and everyone discovers his desire, reveals it in such a way that he sees that it is real, he sees it as real. He’s not afraid to reveal it, disclose it to everyone and it’s the same with everyone else. Then from this connection we’ll get the correct deficiency, the one that the Creator will have to fill.
22. S. (01:19:22) I want to come back to that allegory where a person invites an important person and all the people in the household work and prepare a meal and then when he asks him about the flavors he he gets this indifference. No matter what you did, even if you wouldn’t make something special and give me something simple I feel the same. So if the Creator wants to give good and pleasure to a person and a person disregards what he’s getting from the Creator is the Creator insulted or is he above everything and He understands that He created the evil inclination?
R. Of course the Creator is insulted, offended. It’s not that He’s offended like us but rather He is offended that the person received from the Creator something less than what He intended to give, what He prepared. Nevertheless you have to raise the importance of the Creator and it doesn’t matter what you’re getting, it’s important who you’re getting it from. This second type of importance, where you are getting it from has to cover, complete the deficiency that you feel in the food itself, that’s it.
S. That is exactly it. So what is the Creator’s response towards this insulting, that He’s making efforts and giving for a person and man gives such a reaction? So what does He do back? Does He just give up, what is His demand from His created beings?
R. That we would receive from Him everything according to His importance in our eyes.
S. And the Creator gets contentment from that when a person hears what He tells him?
R. What do you think? I one time received from a Rabash a cup of coffee that had instead of sugar some Clorox. He forgot to pour out the cleaning liquid and wash out the cup and you could taste it, it was like drinking acid. Well, I drank it.
S. And what did he say about that?
R. No, I didn’t tell him anything.
S. So if a person in your case Rabash, a person towards the Creator, even if He gives him something that isn’t good he has to shut up and not respond?
R. I’m not giving you examples for you to copy, however in truth the attitude of a person toward what he is receiving from the Creator can can turn a bad package from the Creator into a good one.
23. S. (01:23:35) I heard a few things today that I’d like to scrutinize. You said that the Creator has to build the prayer. How to connect the prayer we have today that each one says a sentence to the fact that the Creator has to build the prayer?
R. I am not waiting for the Creator. I think that all of us need to complete one another, compliment one another until we reach the complete demand. It will be calm and mutual deficiency which will raise to the Creator.
S. So here is another question, after each one shared his deficiency now we go out into the day. From each one sharing his deficiency how is it all connected into one, that the action is always lacking for me? One person has gratitude, the other one says he’s lacking something, the third one doesn’t have any prayer, how does all that become one?
R. You learned a bit about the 10 Sefirot. One is completely unlike another but because all of them want to extend the reception of light from Keter and bring it to Malchut then consequently they all take part in one action. We all share the one action, one is attracting the light another is rejecting it and there’s a huge difference between Hochma and Bina, Hesed and Gevura and so on and so forth. These things cannot be as one in any way, shape or form but because they share a common goal they’re activated by the upper Keter and consequently they exist.
S. So what is an action each one has to do for this unity after we’ve heard the deficiencies?
R. What are their actions?
S. I’ll try to listen to this again but after I hear all of the friends deficiencies what is this action of connecting these deficiencies into one and raising it?
R. We wish to reveal the Creator each one is in his own deficiency, but in total has to be aimed at the Creator.
S. So it is not one, each one brings his own deficiency still?
R. Okay but all aimed at the one, the Creator.
S. I want also to join the friend with happiness of studying in Bnei Baruch.
24. S. (01:27:26) This guest that comes to the connection, you drew it so colorfully. How do we in the connection build that Kingdom of Heaven in order to receive from Keter? What does it mean to build the Malchut in the ten?
R. We want to have the common will to receive where when we receive from the Creator, in it we’ll feel the upper force as one, that’s it.
S. What does it mean a common will to receive in the ten? Is that an atmosphere in the group?
R. I can’t explain this to you using emotions and feelings. Try to do it and you will feel it.
25. S. (01:28:31) It feels that in order to ask for the redemption of the Shechina you have to incorporate each and every friend, justify each friend and all of them together to one; that they will have good like yourself and then advance. Is it right?
R. Generally speaking, yes.
S. And when you discover that everyone prays for their beast and not for people can we..?
R. You can be happy, try.
S. And if the happiness is from a deficiency to reach the right prayer and I’m happy from that state how can I take a deficiency for the prayer for Divinity to be in exile?
R. Through the friends, from the friends.
26. S. (01:29:37) It seems that the friends aren’t stopping, aren’t doing anything, so what should my response be, how do I bestow?
R. You show them your love to them, let them feel your love to them then we will talk
27. S. (01:30:17) Why can’t I do they awakening from below needed to draw the Shechina into the center of the ten, what am I lacking for that?
R. A desire, desire, Ratzon.
28. S. (01:31:03) What does it mean ‘to drink the Clorox’ or the bleach, what did you tell yourself when you were drinking the cup with the bleach?
R. Rabash simply wanted to clean all the glasses and cutlery and he used this bleach to clean the glasses and he didn’t wash one of the glasses and poured coffee into it and I got this cup; it’s not too bad, nothing happened to me.
S. But what did you tell yourself, you could have said I’m not going to drink it”.
R. It doesn’t matter, I got it from the teacher, but that’s why I drank it without any doubt.
S. And what should we tell ourselves when the Creator lets us drink bleach?
R. This is your decision, each one should make their own decision
S. What is the right attitude?
R. The correct attitude is to check the attitude of your heart.
29. S. (01:32:35) You said that to reach the common prayer we have to complete each other, in what exactly and how?
R. I need to add to each and every to add each and every friend whatever he’s lacking in order to reach adhesion with a Creator, I give him, he is giving me, and together we reach adhesion in the Creator.
30. S. (01:33:18) The decision to take the burden of the Kingdom of Heaven has to be for something eternal, how is it possible if the human heart keeps changing, is that the Creator that interferes and changes our heart?
R. Of course, certainly yes, we are one hundred percent operated from above.
31. S. (01:33:55) I want to understand the point: the group can meet and read an article or play cards, it’s both a group action; and I heard that the matter is what the intention is when they’re doing the action, so can we be in the intention of prayer for the friends in any daily action we have even, if we’re going to work or school?
R. Again, what is the question?
S. The question is can we be in the intention of the prayer for the friends in any simple action we do during our day, like going to work?
R. Well, we can’t track each and every friend throughout the day but in our hearts, we could be, we need to be honest with them, straight with them, and try to raise them, direct.
32. S. (01:35:25) It’s written that “the burden of the Kingdom of Heaven has to happen at once”, and not say that every day want to receive just a bit of it and then when I go home I want to enjoy self love. And in our life we’re organized in families, so how can a family help a person that also when he comes home he keeps in the spiritual work?
R. Well, if he is married to someone like, has a wife like you, then certainly she will hold him in that direction to help the friends and to hold on to the importance of the Creator together with them in their eyes.
33. S. (01:36:32) I would like to understand something: in one place it says “ten and not nine”, and then in another place it says “two as one hundred”, two different purposes, two different situations?
R. Yes.
34. S. (01:37:09) The fact that we came to the wisdom of Kabbalah and got a ten, does that mean that the Creator already called us to the synagogue where there’s still no person there because we’re this praying?
R. Correct, correct.
S. How do we all together in the ten ask the Creator to connect us into one man with one desire instead of just a few beasts praying for themselves?
R. You said a very nicely, you articulated very nicely about the heart! Now the question is this, we have a Congress ahead of us, let’s compose a prayer for the Congress and try to prepare all of us for this prayer so we would understand exactly what do we want, who are we turning to, and how do we activate it. That is the time, we have about two weeks, excellent let’s do it, go ahead.
S. Can I say a couple more words, I wanted to say that I’m confident that whoever is here and also people who aren’t here, all of Bnei Baruch are ready to take from you not only bleach but everything together, and together we will get to the Gmar Tikkun!
R. That’s quite all right, that is a serious woman. more than I appreciate you.
35. S. (01:39:29) I heard that the prayer has to be whole, and we also have to include the question for forgiveness in this, so what am I asking for, to fill that I am weak and I’m not giving myself completely?
R. I didn’t understand, what should I ask for forgiveness?
S. I heard that the prayer has to be whole meaning I also have to include the forgiveness or repentance into the prayer.
R. Yes?
S. So what am I asking for repentance on, that I feel that I am weak, I’m not giving all my forces?
R. Each one should ask for forgiveness about what he thinks he did wrong or not in a complete way
36. S. (01:40:47) All the friends went to the north, and I also want to be with them, so I wanted to ask how the friends are here in my heart, so how can I complete them now?
R. Why didn’t you go with them?
S. In September, I’m going to come to Israel.
R. I’m asking about today, in Australia, who is to blame?
S. I was with them all night and we had workshops, don’t ask!
R. I’m not asking, I’m asking, I’m praying for you not to fall out of the face of a planet!
37. S. (01:41:54) About the guests coming to the Host ,when he says that “it doesn’t matter for him and he’s not calculating on the pleasure he’s getting from the food”, so it sounds suitable to what we’re speaking about and studying. That “the darkness will shine as light,” and if you have a simple meal with an interesting person so it’s like a gourmet meal, and if you eat a gourmet meal with a boring person it’s not a good meal, so it sounds like a desired state.
R. Yes, in short, it’s not about the meal, it is about to whom are you connecting.
S. Because here he’s presenting it that the host isn’t happy with the fact that if I’m supposedly indifferent to what I’m eating?
R. Yes, it’s not good if I come to someone and I tell him, “I I don’t care, I’m indifferent, for me all the food you’ve prepared, you put for me twenty dishes, for me it’s all like hay.”
S. Because I value you and not this corporeal thing of a food?
R. No it can’t be, you must develop a deficiency an appetite, a yearning, specifically for all the dishes that the host is placing for you because he labored on it, and through that you have the connection with him, so it’s really important, what is it called “the flavors of Torah.”
S. Well, on one hand we say that “the darkness will shine as night,” and we are indifferent, and here we see that we are not indifferent?
R. No we’re not indifferent, we should not be indifferent, on the contrary, the more I enter into each and every flavor I’m getting from the Creator, through that I can learn to appreciate Him, feel Him and understand Him.
S. So how does that work with “the darkness will shine as light,” that those two ends are the same, how does that work out?
R. “The darkness will shine as light,” if I receive this darkness from the Creator, from the Creator it shines to me like light and that’s how I get it.
S. Like the cup with the bleach?
R. Yes, so what bleach, bleach, it’s not so terrible, nothing happened to me, nothing happened to me, with my ulcer and everything nothing happened to me. I am certainly we can overcome anything like that, if I relate to the giver then what I received is not that important.
S. So that brings us back to the indifference.
R. No, I’m not indifferent, I’m simply raising the importance of the giver above all the flavors.
S. And then these things supposedly do not affect you?
R. No, they don’t affect me.
38. S. (01:45:52) I wanted to ask about the deficiency to connect them all into one how do I know that the friends deficiency is directed towards the Creator it is a very internal state?
R. How do you combine these deficiencies into one? In you.
S. I’m asking that…
R. You want to connect them only to one deficiency so you are seemingly drawing and pulling all these deficiencies into you until you combine them and connect them into one and then with the deficiency you now manage to connect your present that to the Creator. This is the deficiency of my group. Take it, please accept it. What does it mean accept it? To fill it.
S. So it turns out that I have to take the friends deficiency into my heart that it will be as my own?
R. Yes. You received efficiencies from all the friends and you wish to include them all together in your heart so that your deficiency the one that you started with to connect with them will be in the middle and then you present it to the Creator and you say fill all those deficiencies. We want that by that you will receive pleasure from us.
39. S. (01:47:50) How does the connection between us create the reflected light he’s speaking about here?
R. If we wish to connect one with everyone so that from the connection between us we could rise to, we could raise our attitude to the Creator, this is called reflected light.
S. Then he adds and says that we have to mention his name and then he comes and blesses us, what does that mean that we mention his name in the connection between us?
R. The name of the Creator that we mentioned means that we wish to clothe in him and the name of the Creator will be on you.
S. And why does that bring a blessing?
R. Because we want to be surrounded and enveloped by the name of the Creator.
40. S. (01:49:05) It is written that when a person takes the burden of the kingdom of heaven on himself, he has to ask the Creator that it will be forever and for eternity, and not only the time that he is in the synagogue. What is the meaning of that request?
R. If he’s getting it from the Creator, he needs to be also in the same qualities close to the Creator, and that’s for eternity for wholeness and for everyone.
41. S. (01:49:50) How to make room inside me to absorb the qualities of the ten if I still have a deficiency felt as personal?
R. To be certain that in the individual deficiency you will fill it with the deficiencies of others.
42. S. (01:50:15) What is the correct attitude towards building the prayer? Should we write it in the morning and take it into the day as the greatest gift and then just come back and increase it? Or, during the day to keep scrutinizing and try to make the prayer better?
R. Scrutinize it and improve it during the day.
43. S. (01:50:40) It says I came and there was no person. Does that mean that the Creator is giving a person a thought and desire to be a person but in the end he finds him praying for self love, is that anything to do with free choice?
R. I don’t understand the question. A person has to check his prayer so it will be for the well-being of everyone, the collective need if he wants to receive an answer.
44. S. (01:51:19) What’s the connection between receiving the Kingdom of the burden of Heaven and internality to all being in the synagogue at one time?
R. Taking of the burning of the Kingdom of Heaven For Eternity means complete perception complete correction….besides that.
45. S. (01:51:55) He writes that today he wanted to take the burden of Kingdom of Heaven only when I’m in the synagogue and want to go home to enjoy self love, it’s painful to read this.
R. Why?
S. Because I identifying with this, I’m in the lesson and then I
R. And then later you fly in all kinds of directions, so what?
S. So it feels like I didn’t do anything all the time I was here
R. No don’t say that, never the less what I’ve done I’ve done, what I haven’t done I haven’t done; there is room for both, we need to see reality the way it is. Don’t erase one in dispense of other.
S. So I should ask to be in a different state, to be in it all the time?
R. We have to ask, whatever comes up comes up, the Creator arranges for us such times where we disconnect from the prayer from turning to Him and certainly we suddenly remember where are my good intentions, my good relationships, and again for a few hours we stop. Each one knows how it happens, so, patience.
46. S. ()1:53:35) Sometimes I feel a deficiency from above and sometimes from below from the friends, from the group but I feel that it is like a big wave, an emotional way and sometimes I don’t understand from which direction I’m getting the deficiency and towards which direction I could pass the deficiency. So how?
R. I can’t explain that, that is whichever way you understand it. I recommend to stop speaking in English, forget English and start speaking only in Hebrew that’s it.
S. At home as well?
R. Also at home, even better
S. I want my child to…
R. You will have less frictions and arguments at home only speak Hebrew.
47. S. (01:55:17) How do we come to soul devotion?
R. By reaching devotion of the soul.
S. Is man in order to bestow?
R. Man in order to bestow?
S. Is man in order to bestow?
R. Yes.
48. S. (01:55:51) I understood that we have to grow the gift that we’re getting from the Creator in order to grow the pleasure. How can you leave reception and get to bestowal if the gift becomes so important?
R. It is difficult, it’s difficult. Patience, patience.
49. S. (01:56:51) What is a blessing exactly spiritually speaking?
R. Blessing is that you get forces from above for your deficiency and you can realize it, implement it.
S. Can you say that is pleasure from adhesion?
R. It could be.
50. S. (01:57:27) How do Kabbalists pray 24 hours? Can you teach us how to do it?
R. Constantly keep the same deficiency that you have in you and aim it towards the goal that it will always be before you and attain that goal that you are trying, that means that you are in a 24-hour prayer.
51. S. (01:58:25) It seems like this article from among all the articles that we’ve read, sounds like one of the articles it speaks most about the work of being Bnei Baruch because often Rabash writes about the work with the Creator, ascents, descents, but here is exactly the direction that we’ve been working out for years. So I wanted to ask you, how did you choose that direction because this is truly work in connection out of everything Rabash gave us?
R. Well I chose it because I have such a sense. I have that sense and I that’s why I chose it and you will all keep it on.
52. S. (01:59:27) I don’t have a question but, the desire to be grateful to all the families of BB, all the friends in whom I feel the importance of the host.
R. Thank you.
53. S. (01:59:57) On the one hand, we need to accept every state the Creator is giving us and rejoice about it. On the other hand, should we agree with the feeling of heaviness we have to awaken ourselves when we feel a lack of joy or heaviness in the work. How does this work out, to agree or disagree with it?
R. Think, think.
