Part 1:
Zohar for All. “Introduction of The Book of Zohar”. Otiot de Rav Hamnuna Saba [The Letters of Rav Hamnuna Saba]. #25
1. Rav’s Introduction: (00:28) Yes, we are continuing and we will see in which qualities the Creator created the world, and how it all has to be in balance, in harmony in one against the other so that the world will include within it all of the qualities and we will be able to incorporate everyone.
Reading Item 25. (01:03) “This implies that anyone who wishes to tell a lie..”
2. R. (04:26) There is nothing to add here and also, there are no questions.
Reading Item 26. (04:45) “The letter Tzadi entered, and she said before him..”
3. S. (19:49) What can we learn about the work from the connection between the letters?
R. For the time being hardly anything but soon we will begin to feel how much we through our forces that operate when we pray, when we turn to the Creator how through that, we awaken these forces or those forces or these forces towards the general connection. Then we will learn these actions in actuality.
4. S. (20:30) Is there a mutual dialogue between the letters and the Creator?
R. The letters are the Kelim, the forces through which the Creator arranges the created beings will to receive in all sorts of forms so that after the shattering they can connect between them, they can come closer, they can somehow stand together and out of the mutual work they can reach a certain form that resembles the Creator. This is what we need to learn: how does it happen? For the time being we read, we don’t quite understand what is happening but bit by bit these actions will go over us and we will feel ourselves how this works. Just like in our own life, we don’t get an explanation in our own life of what is going on but rather, ‘there is none as wise as the experienced one,’ as it is written, and so then this is how we advance, we learn and we gain experience. It is the same here.
5. S. (22:14) What is this process that the letters come closer and or father from the Creator?
R. It’s the qualities of bestowal, qualities of bestowal, this is how it happens. However, up and down towards the Creator this is how it happens, this movement.
S. Would you say that the letters are Kelim? What happens with it?
R. The Kelim receive the reforming light, the upper light and by the Kelim being worthy and being closer to each other and annulling to each other the individual ego it turns out that they are capable of changing their state, their desire and they get a common desire with other desires. They get a state which is higher than before and this is how bit-by-bit they get closer to the Creator, gradually.
S. When a Kabbalist reads about some letter, let’s say in Nun and it is written that he can’t create the world in it, what does that mean that he can’t work with it at the moment?
R. He can work with it but only in the cases when it helps, in a peripheral manner, in a peripheral manner it helps the creation of the world.
6. S. (24:04) no translation.
R. no translation.
7. S. (24:53) Even the righteous of righteousness the coupling doesn’t end? What does it mean that the coupling doesn’t end?
R. That there is a connection between the will to receive and the light and the will to receive changes in order to draw the light more and more; to be changed by the light and to receive it.
8. S. (26:00) I think I have some confusion. There’s ZA as a male and female part, the ZON? In the beginning of the article here, he writes that ZA has both qualities. Can you explain?
R. Soon and we will study it more and broadly. Right now we are learning from the foundations, and later on, we will learn how from these foundations we can build a building.
9. S. (26:54) What does it mean adhesion back-to-back?
R. In the form of back-to-back it means the qualities of Hassadim and Hochma so that we have such connections and other connections. Usually it’s a connection which is not so strong, for the time being that’s how we can describe it to ourselves.
10. S. (27:35) According to this article here there are different connections between the letters, let’s say connections between the letters that form a word and the connections between the letters that form another word, let’s say the Nun and Yod that form the Tzadi. What’s the difference between these connections?
R. In order to build the connections the letters have to connect between them and so there are different kinds of connections in different forms. Soon we will get into it, don’t you worry we are not going to miss anything important.
11. S. (28:20) The author here is truly writing like this romance. He speaks so nicely of each letter. The question is: what are the letters asking about that? Is He answering them?
R. In order to show us how to use them.
12. S. (29:00) What is this face to face?
R. The process of face-to-face means with the desire of the upper degree and the lower degree that they are going to connect.
13. S. (29:31) What does he mean by a gripping for the outer ones?
R. A grip or a hold of the upper ones means that the will to receive in the degree may awaken and draw to itself and pull to itself in order to receive some part of the light. This is why it is impossible to enter such a structure.
14. S. (30:09) Because the righteous love righteousness the Zivug never stops. This makes me feel the reward of the work is to be righteous and having this non-stop Zivug but we should work for our friends not for our pleasure. We should work for the exaltedness of the Creator. How to want this never ending Zivug for my friends and not for myself?
R. The most important is the connection between us so that through this connection we can pass both the reforming light and also the light that fills the vessels to the entire group and through it to the whole of humanity. This is our entire reward and this is what we work on.
15. S. (31:35) The letters are created as a Kli to create creation and then reach connection? Meaning the letters are Kelim for creation and correction?
R. The letters precede the creation, 2000 years before creation the Creator already established the letters and later on with the help of the letters, according to the letters, He started to create creation because He already had before Him that image, that quality that has to be in the vessels in order to complete the correction and reach the goal which He wants to be.
16. S. (33:10) If I understood correctly here, a person can be righteous and also even when the greatness of the Creator is concealed from him that He is the Good that does Good and thus, the creation can begin from the Tzadi?
R. Yes.
17. S. (33:43) What does it mean to distance the outer ones?
R. The grip of the outer ones, well it means to have a Masach that doesn’t give a possibility to connect with forces that have not yet attained the intention to bestow.
18. S. (34:23) We learn about different letters and each letter, each speech with the Creator awakens some different sensation within us. Some of the letters like Tzadi awakens some unique impression in me, an internal impression in me as if I am even understanding what is going on. Should I deepen in this part of the article?
R. It doesn’t mean anything. You need to receive everything completely objectively. You don’t yet know what these qualities are and so you want to study everything. Nothing is good, nothing is bad. There is no special attitude or relation to this or that because this is how it is concealed, this is closer or better or more pleasant. Try to be indifferent as much as possible.
19. S. (35:38) What is this that a letter comes and demands a role is this the internality of man?
R. We will learn this soon.
20. S. (36:02) Back to back but in the future there is supposed to be from back-to-back to face-to-face? What is the change here?
R. This is when we will move to a new form and it will be a new letter. Yes, a letter is a Kli.
21. S. (36:50) Maybe it is a childish question: when there are no letters yet, our group was created spontaneously somehow, we don’t know where to turn to with questions.
R. It’s not up to me my dear, it’s up to the organizers. You need to turn to the organizers, the language department heads and they will tell you what to do
22. S. (38:00) We learn as you have said now, that a letter is a Kli meaning a desire, let’s say in the case of Tzadi it’s a connection of two Kelim, two letters Nun and Yod. How can two desires connect? They are two different Kelim: how can they connect?
R. When the upper light comes and they see the goal that is acceptable to both and specifically in combination of both they can attain it, then they understand the need for connection and they ask for the connection and pray. Also in our life, we are very different to one another but in order to attain the mutual goal we gradually connect in all sorts of manners, all sorts of sides or facets. Also, Yod and Nun connect in an opposite manner, one to another, in order to attain a mutual quality and by it attain an essence and it’s not just an essence, it’s the letter Tzadi; to reach the degree of righteousness.
S. What change has to occur in the vessel so that they will be able to connect?
R. That they are willing to forgo their selfishness and connect to give each other all their forces in order to reach the third mutual degree between them. Something very interesting, very interesting. We will know more about this where Shin is connected with three heads, four heads, there are many things in this, many details. Then how the letters come together, the combination of the letters, what letter can come one before the other or cannot be at all next to another letter. We will learn about this. There are things that are like stones, blocks from which the entire universe, all of nature is built.
S. What is the glue between the breaks?
R. The mutual goal that adheres, sticks one to another: that to begin with nobody wants.
23. S. (41:10) In Kabbalistic terms, what is the world that we are talking about here the world that is created?
R. That they build a mutual vessel in which participate all the letters, in all their combinations and the upper light can illuminate in them without limit.
S. This is the world that they create?
R. That’s the world that we build, yes. That in this we are called partners.
S. What does it mean 2000 years before creation?
R. It’s a complete degree; every world is 2000.
Reading Item 27 (42:10) “The letter Peh entered before him..”
24. R. (45:53) Maybe you start the explanation again.
Reading explanation again.(46:00)
25. R. (59:29) She will lack the force of Hochma.
26. S. (59:36) There’s a feeling as if before we learn to read the words correctly we need to learn how to read the letters. Maybe one flows into the other, how to read the letters correctly?
R. I don’t know if we’re learning to read, then we’re learning letters. That’s how it is in every language and Hebrew, the whole matter is that Hebrew was resulted from the breaking of the Kelim. Meaning not by the human development that revealed that is some means for recording of thought and ideas to send to one another some messages. Rather Hebrew resulted from this that connections with the forces of nature developed and revealed that these forces recorded these forms of these forces as letters. A letter is called a sign, so each and every letter we will still learn this ahead, is an expansion from above below as the light of Hochma, meaning from right to left or left to right is light of Hassidim depends on from where and to where, and so on. Meaning, all the rules of the language result from the expansion of the light from the Creator to the created beings.
27. S. (01:01:48) What is the meaning of the word Pedut?
R. We will learn that later on, it actually has a very wide significance, a wide meaning.
28. S. (01:02:20) In the state between redemption and exile, the Nukva determines when the Nukva is worthy and when she is not worthy?
R. Correct for the most part it is like this.
S. When is the Nukva worthy; fit?
R. There are many states.
29. S. (01:03:05) There’s this impression that every letter comes with the request that the Creator will create the world with her as though she doesn’t yet know what the second restriction and she’s the quality of the first restriction and the Creator opposite the positive quality He reveals the negative quality. That with this, He wants to create the world with the help of the second restriction. Seemingly it appears towards the created beings?
R. Correct, correct that’s exactly what we’re going to read soon.
30. S. (01:03:50) When the letter enters the Creator afterwards thoughts that the destruction of a complete process and the complete structure of creation and the worlds and some degrees. How is this related to the letters? It seems like a single vessel but here you have a complete creation which is described.
R. The vessel is not just any vessel and the letter is not just letters. Rather, the combination to the number of forces, in a certain goal in a certain task, for the fulfillment of some certain function and such by the means of only two forces; reception and bestowal, the entire problem of reality is solved. If with these forces that connect between them in 22 letters, 22 such imprints, structures, that between them there is nothing else, such that they will combine between them and build all of creation, all of existence and all of reality. You don’t need anything else, no molecules, no galaxies: nature is still, vegetative and animate. The thinking material that creates itself and so on, all, everything only exists from within these 22 qualities that are tight between them and in such a manner passed on to one another their quality and thus, we get an infinite quantity of qualities and opportunities.
S. We learn about the process of the cascading of the worlds and the quality is in the classical wisdom of Kabbalah but here the letters are also described in patterns as you say and templates. What is their function? Is this some sort of software or program?
R. Of course, it’s those same forces, just that they are recorded differently and written differently.
S. But it’s not just forces on their own, there are certain combinations between them, how should we relate them to the system of creation? Let’s see according to what it says here with this letter, there’s a description of certain degrees and worlds.
R. It’s already a combination, it’s already a connection between them: the desires to bestow and to receive. Everything is composed from this, comprised from this.
31. S. (01:06:57) Why did the Creator create the letters? Why is it not enough to create the will to receive?
R. Letters are formulas and with these formulas we can tie our desires to receive and tie them together into some chain and with this chain the light will expand and fill all the desires. That we will take all of the qualities of Keter, Hochma, Zeir Anpin and Malchut, then we will see that there is no more in them than the ability to incorporate of 22 letters. It’s not that it just comes out of the air, read well what he has written here. We don’t have sufficient time in the lesson to really get into it but why did the Creator create the world from Otiot, from letters because letters are signs and symbols of connection of light and desire. And from such rules the Creator created all of reality.
S. How is it possible that every letter has some flaw? These letters are vessels for the revelation of the upper light?
R. Yes but in each and every letter, each letter is not a whole letter, rather it has something unique of its own and opposite this there is something lacking; something missing and we need not to use one letter but in an order and an arrangement of letters from the letter Bet in Beresheet, the first word in the ‘Torah’ up until the letter Lamed which is the last letter in the word Israel and if we go over all the letters of the ‘Torah,’ then actually we will receive all of the upper, infinite light inside the limited vessels and as such we build the one vessel for the upper light.
32. S. (01:09:42) The Creator told the letter, “you are beautiful,” what is this quality?
R. The quality of beauty is when the light of Hochma clothes in the vessel.
S. But He didn’t say it to every letter. Why does he separate and distinguish some of them?
R. This will be in a certain level of correction and thus, usually we attribute beauty to the female kind and not male because the woman is the will to receive and when she acquires the intention to bestow she can receive light into herself in this light of Hochma that illuminates in her is called beauty.
33. S. (01:10:50) It speaks about Israel above and Israel below. Is this about us?
R. It’s not talking about us at all my dear, not about us at all.
S. So what Israel is it?
R. I don’t know what you’re fantasizing here, it’s not talking about us at all.
34. S. (01:11:28) Can you explain what it speaks about the inner Aba and Ima here, what does it mean?
R. There are a few types of Aba and Ima, Israel, Saba and Tvuna, we will learn about that later on. Here he touches upon it so later on we won’t get confused.
35. S. (01:12:08) I saw once that the letters correspond to the Star of David.
R. I don’t want to hear about such things. I don’t even want to see if it’s incorrect or not, we’re just not learning it right now and we don’t have to push this into my vessel.
36. S. (01:12:43) In this letter, this item, there is seemingly a difference between transgression and crime or iniquity: it’s not the same?
R. As a principle, yes, transgression and crime are the same, although transgression is as going over some rule and crime is more by accident.
37. S. (01:13:24) What are the tears and why is this not a vessel?
R. Tears are what we cannot receive on the intention to bestow, on the intention to bestow.
S. And it’s expressed as some form, right?
R. It’s additional light that we cannot receive and it’s expressed outward in such a manner as tears.
38. S. (01:14:15) Are the letters, do they exist forever or are they born each day anew?
R. Letters are the vessels when we connect correctly we form the letters.
39. S. (01:14:49) The letters themselves, do they each have their own quality and we have to connect them?
R. Yes, of course.
S. So how do they connect between them?
R. When they have a mutual force and a mutual screen and they connect in order to pass on the lights from one to the other.
S. When we say the letters from Aleph to Tav there has to be a certain order to them or is it not important?
R. There’s a certain order that we can connect into words and words into sentences. It’s not simple, there are laws here.
S. You said that a person is not in these letters now and now that you said man does connect the letters between them, so what is man’s role in this, if he even has one?
R. A person needs to connect the letters.
S. How do you connect them with screens or reflected light and that whole story?
R. Yes.
40. S. (01:16:10) I’m trying to read here, Zohar For All, I have the book before me, I see many letters, I see many signs, we’re going to the discussion with all the friends. What is the process to enter these letters from letters to words and from words to whole sentences, to integrate this, how do we help each other to integrate this whole thing because if I see this this is very complex, so how do I integrate this and what is my work here, and what is my attitude, how should I continue this process to enter the Book of Zohar to be able to pass it to everyone?
R. The wisdom of Kabbalah explains to us that the Creator created a desire, the desire that was one was broken into many desires, and in the creatures who are us, exist all of these desires, and we and the connection between us have to come to a state that these desires connect. And again, go back to being one desire; this is called being as “one man with one heart”. And towards this we are going. If we want to walk according to what the wisdom of Kabbalah advises us, this is called the path of good, the path of light, and if we do not want to, then according to the suffering that are revealed from the states where we don’t bring the lights to us, and then we suffer, and still come to connection through no other option. Just through wars and other forms and that’s it, and this is what the wisdom of Kabbalah is teaching us. At the end of the day, how to reach complete and total connection that includes all of the creatures, men, women, everyone together, and this is what we are studying and this is what we need to realize and our time and in our words. We are the first in the last generation.
S. I don’t speak Hebrew but all these friends here and the Israeli people speak Hebrew. How can I help these friends if I don’t speak Hebrew and I don’t read it, how can I participate and I can pass them the light?
R. In your desire, what do you mean, in your desire, what does it matter, the desire is the same desire, just the names are different. But it is the same.
41. S. (01:20:13) Before the shattering there were not any letters right?
R. Correct.
S. What was shattered is just desire?
R. The desire was shattered and then the letters were created.
S. What brings the letters to life, because we can speak words and we can pray, but after the words I don’t feel anything, we cannot express our emotion, it’s just words, even what’s written in prayer books. I went to synagogues and I left that community because the words are empty there, people pray.
R. Empty words depend on you, not the congregation.
S. So how about the intention, how do you put the intention on every word, because sometimes you don’t need the words?
R. So what is the question?
S. How to put our intention to be like the Creator’s intention, how can we combine them?
R. If you are aimed towards love of others, you already are in the same direction as the Creator. As much as you enter this intention, you are more and more adhered to the intention of the Creator and then gradually you begin to feel in your direction that you are together with him. This is called you are adhered and you come to an equivalence of form, it all depends on you and by the way, it doesn’t depend on any language.
S. So the intention wasn’t shattered, but through the connection between us we have to awaken that intention, that with it the whole world was created?
R. Yes.
42. S. (01:23:07) Baal HaSulam calls the letters the letters of work. The letters we’re reading about now, are those the vessels that we conduct the desires with and we manage the desire?
R. The vessels express the desires, the desires exist, we just have to arrange them and form them and connect them and aim them and direct them towards a certain action, according to our decision.
S. I want to understand if there’s a difference between letters that we activate the desire with, or letters or vessels that are vessels of reception, where we receive the lights and it’s the same vessels but just different forms of vessels; vessels of work and vessels of reception?
R. Vessels of Hochma and vessels of Hassadim.
S. There’s vessels where we receive the light in, that we feel the light, it’s these vessels, these are the letters?
R. Yes, yes there are vessels for reception of the light, correct, there are vessels with Aviut of Gimel and Dalet, coarseness of 3 and 4, and vessels towards the direction of the light.
S. The letters, what type are they?
R. Letters are only the form of the vessel, they do not speak on the degree of the coarseness.
43. S. (01:25:00) Can you explain in general what the connection is between the letters and the structure of the worlds, the way they connect between them?
R. We will still learn this, what letters belong to which world, what will it give you now?
S. The relations between the letters and the structures of the worlds, how does it combine, how does a letter get a quality from a certain place where it comes out of?
R. Everything started from a white light, within which was a black dot, and the black dot within the white light began to develop to all directions, right, left, up and down and so on, and from this that it started depicting its drawing, its actions on the background of a white background, from this we are getting the letters. The letters are usually black, although there are other colors, and the form of the letters that we are studying which is the expansion of up and down from the light of Hochma and from the right and left is light of Hassadim and the circle is what is common between them and this is what we study.
S. So the letter is a response of the Malchut?
R. Response of Malchut on the light that is affecting her, that is influencing her and bestowing to her. Correct, that then by the light that is influencing the black dot, that is bestowing to the black dot, she begins to show her actions, and then she comes out of her point of balance and turns herself right and left, Hassadim or Hochma and so on. We will study it, this is not now, you want similarly to what you know the letters of the external world and to bring it here. We will wait and you will get everything.
44. S. (01:28:17) I wanted to ask about the being effective in perceiving the Zohar. We know that the book was written by people who revealed all these connections and qualities between them and I wanted to ask, is it worth making an effort to clothe the perception of the Zohar on the connection between us?
R. No, you shouldn’t be just listening, you should be trying to understand the Book of Zohar inside, how it influences our world, us.
45. S. (01:29:09) In this process what is the purpose of judgments in desires?
R. The purpose of the actions of desires is for everything to reveal, for everyone to connect and to bring themselves to one intention of the revelation of the Creator within them, and in this way the world will be filled in the upper light and the state will be called the end of correction.
46. S. (01:30:03) You told David that there’s vessels of receiving the light and vessels of directing the light, and you said that the vessels are the form of the vessel, what does that mean, the form of the vessel?
R. A form, like we learned, these forms that we are writing these letters, right and left, up and down, as we write the letters and in this, we express the continuation of the lights within the vessels.
S. It’s not completely clear, what’s the form of a vessel?
R. The form of a vessel is how much it has a combination of the force of reception and the force of bestowal, Hochma and Hassadim.
47. S. (01:31:11) The letters are between the Parsa and the Tabur, meaning in the world of Yetzira and Beria, so that’s where the forms of the vessels are received in order to bring them to correction in Atzilut and they express the relation between the all the worlds, of Atzilut, Beria, Yetzira and Assiya, is that right?
R. We’re going to study it, don’t jump ahead of what we study. You want to read, read, but don’t bring it here. I don’t like this, where people want to run ahead of everybody, it doesn’t add to the understanding of the wisdom of Kabbalah.
48. S. (01:32:15) When we write, we don’t write in these printed forms, but is there a difference in a prayer that is said in the heart or in voice or what we write ourselves?
R. More that we say in the heart, a prayer is more beneficial that we speak through the letters of the heart.
49. S. (01:32:49) Why did the Creator not interfere with their meaning by creating the letters, for example, the Creator created the letter Peh but did not interfere with the word, Pesha, whose meaning is bad and who starts with Peh?
R. I don’t know, we’re going to see more later and we will reveal that also in the word Pesha, crime, what it does and what action, and you will see that what you were asking is correct. That there is an influence from the letter Peh to Pesha, it is written here and soon you will see. It is written even, it is written Pesha that is concealed, with a snake and the stick and so on, and more because these measures of Pesha is like the sin of the tree of knowledge and it is mentioned many times in a variety of forms.
50. S. (01:34:27) Is it correct to consider the letters as a chain of codes of the DNA or the atom structure that allows you to make different objects in the still and in the world that’s before us, or if it is like that, is it only something spiritual or is there corporeality in this too?
R. No, we speak only of spirituality and not of corporeality, it exists here and around us and things of this world.
51. S. (01:35:38) Attaining the letters by man starts from Yud?
R. No, I would not say that, you will see on yourself how the attainment of the letters occurs.
52. S. (01:36:16) How does the studying of the letters help us connect?
R. We see according to the letters how they combine into words and how it influences the entire creation and accordingly it helps us to understand that connection is necessary.
53. S. (01:36:45) What efforts and what prayer should we sustain during the reading of the Zohar in order to enter deeper in our effort?
R. Only connection, only to come closer to one another.
54. S. (01:37:04) Does the light change us only to the extent that we make an effort?
R. Yes.
55. S. (01:37:11) Why does it seem that part of the letters are good and part of the letters are bad?
R. This is how it is truly, this is how truly the letters are, but without them we cannot, just like within our world, it cannot be without evil and only in good.
56. S. (01:37:39) What does it mean to build the world with a letter?
R. A quality, each letter is a quality.
57. S. (01:38:01) What does it mean to build the world with a letter?
R. In the connection between them, we can build and construct a multifaceted system in which we can connect and understand and feel and live within the system, it is completely filled with connections coming closer and drawing farther, hatred and love, and adherence and without it there is no life without it there is only the existence of the still and nothing more.
58. S. (01:38:47) I heard the letters were before the world was created and also now I heard that the letters are only after the shattering, why before the shattering there were not any letters?
R. There were no letters because there were no qualities, no clear qualities from which the whole of creation is composed.
59. S. (01:39:18) So what does it mean that it was before the creation of the world?
R. They were before the creation of the world but they were not clear, they were not scrutinized, they were not clarified.
60. S. (01:39:36) Every letter wants creation to start with her but it seems like a plea from the ego. How can we see that every letter has a plea from the altruistic side?
R. Because it says there that it wants to correct the world and then it suggests to start with her.
61. S. (01:40:09) The sin of the tree of knowledge is mentioned here, there’s a lot of sins that can be covered afterwards with forgiveness and so on, but the sin of the tree of knowledge, it brings a reality that cannot be corrected like the temples destruction, death, what’s so unique with this sin and this process that it’s so deterministic that until the final correction it cannot be corrected?
R. Because the sin of the tree of knowledge is done by a special creature that is called Adam, and this is why he understood and knew that the sin that he has completed and he can feel and complete the correction and in this he rises himself to the degree of the Creator.
S. In this process there is the mother that afterwards is in charge of life, like it says here about the ego that protects life, but it’s also what brings the death with us so how to?
R. For now in our world there is not one with the other, that whoever brings life also brings death.
S. How to see death as a stage on the way to correction?
R. Just advance and you will see that this is how you will begin to understand this. That it cannot be without death. This is as it is written on the blessing, that death came into the world and then the world really became the blessed place.
62. S. (01:42:08) All these letters are forms of connections between us along with the Creator that still is not suitable yet?
R. Yes of course.
63. S. (01:42:25) It’s written that the land of Israel below is aimed against the Israel above. What does this mean?
R. This is to form two degrees in the spiritual world, not in the corporeal world.
S. And below it’s written that these Mochin of the first three Sefirot of the Nukva that are built by ZA, they come from those clothing, how does the ZA built the Nukva?
R. The upper ZA of the Nukva gives birth to it and fills it and tries to make it such that it develops towards the Keter, until Ima, its mother is Bina.
64. S. (01:43:33) We were saying earlier that the letters are the forms of the desires. I understand that it’s the way that the light illuminates like a stamp, so how from this stamp, according to the upper one’s influence can we know him and learn about him?
R. We don’t yet understand this, we are like a little child or newborn even, that’s still in the mother’s hands but doesn’t quite understand who she is yet, she just serves him. She takes care of him and nothing more and we will grow up and we will be in a greater system of communication with the upper meaning with the mother, with Bina, and then we will see between us and Bina the difference and understand it more and more.
S. The form of these desires, which is actually the desires revealed in us and the Reshimot, how do we in the group complete one another to where we reach sentences, how from the letters do we put a prayer together?
R. I cannot say anything about that and don’t even try to do anything about this because you will get confused and you will likely leave our studies completely if you get a little too wise. All of this has to come through a completely different format, through feelings and not through the compilation of letters.
65. S. (01:45:42) What’s the difference in qualities between the letters we write in script and the letters and print, why is there difference?
R. This, we are going to study. There is nothing difficult in this and Hebrew there is no beginning whatever exists from the combination of the light and the vessel is what exists in grammar, there is nothing more.
