Part 1:
All your actions will be for the sake of the Creator – Selected Excerpts from the Sources
1. Rav’s Introduction: Yes this is a well-known sentence, all your actions will be for the sake of the Creator, however we don’t understand how to reach it or implement it. And what is even this demand that is written by the Kabbalists that they turn in such a way to everyone? What is it that all the actions will be for the sake of the Creator? What does the Creator need that I will do for him, that I will be like him, how can I do that, it’s a problem. It’s a big problem to understand it, to feel it and all the more so to think about how to get closer to such a demand, to these conditions. All your actions will be for the sake of heaven. It’s not clear in thought, in speech, in action, in all that I am; this is all of me, that it will be for the sake of heaven, for the sake of the Creator. Does the Creator need that? Who is the heaven that I need to do it for? Are these all the people, the whole of humanity, the whole of nature? Well let’s read and let’s see.
Reading excerpt number 1 (02:20) “One must always examine oneself..” twice
2. S. (06:26) How to correctly check here in the lesson that I want to connect with the friends and that I am doing it specifically in order to bring contentment to the Creator, to unite with the Shechina? How do you check this?
R. To check this, I think that it’s possible only through the results. That if you each and every one of you, if we in the group each one in his ten tries to disconnect from himself and be connected with the group, then the group can already think about how does the aim itself to the Creator.
So we have two degrees here, each one comes out of himself into the group and the entire group comes out of itself to the benefit of the Creator. And this work as he says that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life. Meaning that this is the disposition that we should have all the time in each one of us and all of us together. Let’s depict to ourselves this picture, this movement, this disposition and let’s think that way. Let’s strengthen it and live in it so each one makes his inclination from himself to everyone and from everyone together towards the Creator. So we have two steps ahead of us all in all and this is how we should try to be our whole life. And as he writes one must examine oneself always to see whether the purpose of his work is directed correctly. And this all-in-all is how he comes out of himself into the group and how the group comes out of itself into the Creator.
3. S. (09:06) We talked here that if we are loved it’s not hard for us to love back. But here the Creator is making room for us and we have to be the first ones to begin the action and we don’t feel any pleasure. And specifically to begin from this point to bestow contentment to Him, right?
R. We need to try to reach the quality of connection and love from within us and from within us to the Creator. And it’s not that we wait for some special conditions, there are no special conditions for it from the side of the Creator, actually it’s to the opposite there will be a greater and greater burdening of the heart. So that we will nevertheless shift from the will to receive meaning from each one thinking about himself to thinking about everyone together, and later on from everyone together to the Creator. These are two degrees that are not simple at all and we have to feel them inside of us, how they become established in us.
Well, we will talk about it, I see that it’s impossible to convey this briefly. How do we come out of ourselves towards the group? That is already a very big problem and it seems to us as the greatest one because we have it before us and we can somehow feel that implementing it is truly not within our power. And later on towards the Creator, that it will be aimed towards him. But the thing is that even the first step, that we want each one of us to exit his self-love to the love of the society, that we will all be as one man and one heart, that too should already be aimed for the sake of the Creator in order to reach adhesion with the Creator, connection with Him. However this is still an earlier act that precedes the final act when we connect with the vessel of the Creator. Here we are still in our own vessel and only in the second action when we connect with the Creator this is called that I will dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, when I already enter his vessels. We’ll talk more about it and we’ll understand it.
S. Do we have to look for room to overcome towards the connection between us, specifically look for it?
R. Yes. We need to try to find the point of connection, the center of our connection where we want to exist, to live and to develop.
4. S. (13:21) It is written what have I asked of the Creator, the Shechina. What is the Shechina and how do we attain it?
R. The Shechina means our common desire towards the Creator. That we prepare this vessel so that the Creator can be revealed in it, He can settle there and this is how we will feel Him. We cannot feel the Creator as He Himself is, but rather there has to be there has to be some area where we see Him. Just like I cannot see the light, but when the beam of light hits something then I see that beam of light, the way it hits something and it exists, otherwise it’s like outside in outer space, it’s all dark. The moment that a certain boundary appears, a certain vessel, not a vessel but some object, then the light hits this object and then we see that there is something in space, that it’s not just that space is empty and dark, black.
I’s the same here, it is written His glory fills the world. What is it mean that it fills the world, where is He? Rather we need to create a partition over the course of the light and then we will discover Him and to the same extent we will discover what is the nature and the magnitude of our partition, and this is how we will work. The Creator will be happy that we seemingly need to trap Him, to capture Him within our vessel. And in that we begin already to connect, we and Him, and to establish together Him and us, He and his name are one. This is how we actually advance.
S. What is the Shechina and how do we attain it?
R. The Shechina means the same will to receive with which we want to discover the Creator but with the intention in order to bestow, otherwise it’s not the Shechina. This means that our entire vessel, the entire will to receive, our whole nature, that we arrange it in order to bestow to the Creator. So then we connect between us and we all aim ourselves to give contentment to the Creator in our work, and then He appears gradually, to measures, degrees, 1, 2, 3, 4, excetera in our vessel. And by Him appearing we can give Him contentment so that all that we do we do it in order to delight Him.
Then it turns out that in this Shechina when we implement our relation to the Creator of connection between us and love towards Him, in that we actually carry out our connection with Him. And the Shechina becomes like this area in which we discover the Creator’s nature and the relation between us and the equivalence of form. It all exists in the Shechina which we have actually made, which we have built. And this is the partition that stands along the path of the light, there is coarseness there, and a great desire first of all; coarseness and restriction and a screen and reflected light. And it is all revealed in the relation, the connection between light that comes from the Creator and our desire to receive it only in order to give Him contentment. This is manifested in the vessel.
5. S. (19:00) Our actions since we are the will to receive, the action that a will to receive can do is what? To direct itself, to feel pleasure but rather in connection with the Creator with the quality of bestowal?
R. We want to correct the reason for our pleasure so it will be not in order to enjoy from the light itself, which is what we are capable of feeling. And for that we do have a natural egoistic inclination, but rather we want to work with our desire in order to delight the Creator, in order to perform such an action where He will enjoy it. And then to the extent of the mutual pleasure, I to my beloved and my beloved to me this is how it is called, that as the Creator wants to delight us and we want to delight Him we connect together. Just like in our own life, if I embrace a friend we feel in this embrace how much I am drawn to him and he is drawn to me. And then in this mutual attraction we discover our relation and in that we form connection.
S. So actions simply are a sensation of pleasure and joy, what we spoke about?
R. Yes, as a result of that I have great joy.
6. S. (21:18) That partition is that faith? Is that a separation or is it a connection to the Creator, faith?
R. Faith is the force of bestowal that each one can establish above his will to receive and certainly as much as we establish the force of faith, the force of bestowal, the force of Bina, by that we connect between us and we connect with the Creator. Later on to this force of faith joins another force of the will to receive, the coarseness and then we already work where we have faith and them complete faith, there are degrees in that.
7. S. (22:28) In what is the scrutiny different that a person does in the first stage compared to the ten in the second stage when we want to bestow to the Creator?
R. The scrutiny that an individual performs in this first stage is a scrutiny that he must rise above himself and connect to the group. So that he won’t have just one desire but only those desires that he finds in the connection with the others, with the friends. And this is how he should see each and every friend as great and that he is drawn to each and every friend as to the Creator. And then when he actualizes these inclinations then out of that he will have the understanding of how he should be drawn to the Creator out of this preparation that he did with the friends.
S. When we meet as a ten we eat something, raise a L’chaim, we feel a great joy. Is that a joy that causes contentment to the Creator, is that called to bestow?
R. In this you have to check yourselves and scrutinize it. I cannot give you an answer, I don’t need to and I don’t want to, and indeed this is your scrutiny. What are the conditions that need to be? At least that we have to keep them so that the connection between us will be a true connection, a spiritual one, above our will to receive, for the benefit of the friends. According to what do I check that? How can I measure what is the form of the connection, the intensity of the connection between us? How much if some disturbance will come now it will not tear this connection and so on. All of these things we have to check them. A person has what to do, all the time, in all of his moments in life. What I said now, this is one of the great questions we have, the most precious ones, the primary ones.
8. S. (25:39) You said in the first stage that there is a condition that we have to be drawn to the friend like the Creator. What does it mean to be drawn to the friend as the Creator?
R. Maybe it’s too early to say but but the friend should be no lesser than the Creator. The connection between me and the friends should be in the same power that later on I take this connection and I present it to the Creator. And only in such a way to I reach a state where there is no limit to the connection between us and it truly becomes a spiritual connection.
S. What does it mean that I present it to the Creator, connection with a friend?
R. That I want to measure, whether towards the friends or towards the Creator I am drawn with the same power, with the same intensity, the same manner.
S. How does this is occur practically?
R. Think about it, you think about it as much as possible and this is our work. Try to think about this throughout the day until the next lesson, even until the noon lesson if you want to, but I’m not sure that all of you are there and then we will talk next about how successful you were or not successful. And after that we build a relation to the Creator, as it is written from the love of people to the love of the Creator. That I cannot build my relation to the Creator anymore or in any different manner then what I have towards the friends. Here we need to check more to understand, to feel what is the difference between the love towards others and the love towards the Creator, the connection with others and the connection with the Creator? How is it different how is it similar, how do I strengthen one by the other? It is written from the love of people to the love of the Creator. And for me it ends up usually that I think about the love of the Creator and then I see that I must develop, grow love towards people. And there are such issues here and others, what comes first, what comes later and why is it written in such a way. We will scrutinize all of these conditions.
9. S. (29:15) If we can continue the scrutiny because it feels that there is some private work here to connect with the ten, that he builds a depiction of the ten himself and it’s a feeling that it’s not whole yet. But there is some mutual work here with all the friends in the ten that builds a more whole and more complete picture. So regarding what needs to be and should be more true, can you explain this a bit?
R. We will reach that. You are asking nicely but we will reach it gradually, each step.
S. I want to just ask if I understood your answer to the friend from Germany correctly you said a buffer, a separation by which we reveal the light, that’s called the Shechina?
R. This is one of the roles of the Shechina, yes.
S. It’s a role?
R. The primary role of the Shechina is to be the screen, the partition the will to receive upon which there is restriction, screen and reflected light. And then there is a calculation, in which form the created being that has restriction, screen and reflected light over the will to receive that the Creator revealed in him, how can he reach identification, equivalence, a match between him and the Creator.
S. How does this role help us in the ten?
R. Also between us in the ten we need to some extent resemble the relation between us and the relation between us and the Creator. I get all kinds of influences from the friends, these influences I have to receive them also with the screen and reflected light, one towards the other. This is how we build our Partzuf.
S. And in privilege of this we have the revelation?
R. Yes, of course. After I build the connection between us each one is different from the other, each one is like a Sefira, a different Sefira, an opposite one from the other. And we have to connect above our differences for the sake of mutual bestowal, common bestowal to the Creator, the Keter. Then it turns out that by that we become Malchut, that through all the discernments, the phases between it and the Keter it bestows to the Keter.
10. S. (32:37) It turns out that to love the created beings directly, we don’t have such an opportunity but it’s a type of test that we need to succeed in in order to reach a state that we can love the created beings through the Creator?
R. Yes.
11. S. (33:00) What you said now how we turn into Malchut that bestows to Keter, it’s not so clear, how do we do this?
R. Well how to do it? In action, in practice, to try and to ask. Try to build the connection between us, discover each time in each and every one that he is not capable of that and to cry out like a little child towards the mother that it doesn’t work for him, and the mother does it.
S. I’ll cry now but we need to reach the general Malchut?
R. Yes, in that you will cry, you will influence the others.
S. My egoistic desire that I overcome it in this that we connect together, what does it mean that we turn into Malchut?
R. We begin to feel that we, all of us are becoming established towards the upper force and this connects us together. This is what establishes us in a single action, a single understanding as one man and one heart. It is all because we want to bestow to that same Creator.
S. To bestow to the Creator what does that mean? We want to give him our love or our attitude?
R. It’s that when you bestow between the friends then later on from between the friends you bestow to the Creator, this is called bestowal. You really cannot give Him anything besides your relation. If you are righteous what will you give Him? And this is how we work. But it’s great, we we are going forward step after step and sometimes even more than what I think that we should advance, and we do advance so it’s excellent. However I’m just asking, a lesson like today please try to hear it again, and later on we will hear the questions.
Reading excerpt number 2 (35:53) “A person must work and exert..”
12. R. (36:28) The more we advance and understand and feel and enter greater connection between us and also with the upper force, the more we feel how much we depend between us on the friends and between all the friends on the Creator. More and more we see this, and that’s the beauty of it and then..
Reading continues (36:57)
13. R. (37:16) Are you listening? Specifically it states when a person feels that he has no chance to advance, when he sees that he has no council so that he will be able to achieve the degree of bestowal. Meaning that he very much wants to be in bestowal but he’s not capable of it by his own forces, then he gets help from above.
Reading excerpt number 2 (37:49) again
14. R. (38:37) In a state that he is entirely, entirely just spilled out, just spilled over. That he sees he has no forces or mind or sensation or anything, that he will never be able to reach the smallest measure of bestowal, to even the degree of the beginning of bestowal on one hand. And on the other hand he doesn’t even want it so much, he does want it, he doesn’t want it. And then is such a state when he is in despair he receives assistance from above. Meaning we need to make an effort more and more, all the time until we feel ourselves that we are completely worn out, lack of forces. We have no mind, no sensation, no inner qualities or anything, that I am truly prepared, ready to be privileged in some connection with quality of bestowal.
15. S. (39:55) So the true reward is actually that we make an effort towards each other and we make each other greater all the time and that we support all the time. Is this our reward actually?
R. Let’s say, it’s not so important how it’s expressed. Our reward truly, that we will be able to continue, even in the manner that you’ve already been privileged. That you have no other forces to advance in any other way and nonetheless you get up, you come to the lesson and in your last forces you make an effort. And from this the entire reward comes. And that is called Israel sighed from the work.
16. S. (40:56) The connection between us in which we feel the presence of the Creator, does it depend on the ten which becomes connected or does it depend on my effort to bring about the connection, so it comes from me? Whether the revelation of the Creator because it depends on the ten which is connected or the efforts that come specifically from me to discover Him?
R. I would say that both, both this and that. We need to reach a state that a person cries out, a person yells out, Israel cried out from the work it says. And this is what we need to reach. Not to yell ahead of time, that occurs too of course and that too is respected but there is no response on this, no response of the prayer. Because we need to reach the correct, suitable lack. And then we will advance onword and receive entrance.
17. S. (42:36) How to distinguish between me wanting to be in bestowal and me wanting to be in bestowal in order to give contentment to the Creator? I have to constantly be in this scrutiny?
R. Of course I want to be in bestowal so that from this forces of bestowal I want to bring contentment to the Creator, to bestow to the Creator. What does it mean that I want to be in bestowal, in bestowal to whom? The question is not understood.
S. I want to be in bestowal to the friends and seemingly it’s enough, but it’s not enough, right?
R. It’s not enough, it’s not the beginning or the end. If it’s not connected to the end of the path it has no significance, no meaning.
18. S. (43:35) There is something here that’s not so clear to me. On the one hand the ten should act full force in order to give greatness of the friends, to uplift them through envy and honour. On the other hand he writes that I should reach this complete despair. These two things seem to be a contradiction, the ten works full force to uplift and I’m supposed to reach despair.
R. In despair of one’s own forces and ability, that I cannot push them forward, to carry them to the purpose of creation. If we’re just in despair, just like that then we stop and that’s it, we stop the entire form of Egypt. But if we want to reach the goal that all of us are connected as one man in one heart then we truly choke Pharaoh, we obligate him to take us out of him, and that is the goal.
S. So the despair is out of me not succeeding in pushing them, that I don’t succeed in awakening them?
R. Yes, like that for each and everyone. Because truly within one’s nature each and every one is entirely, entirely identifed with Pharaoh. Otherwise what is it called that we descend into Egypt, we enter Egypt. It’s according to the qualities revealed in them, that they are accepted by Pharaoh in Egypt and he is happy that they came, and they too are happy that they are by him. And there is some understanding and sensation and connection between them, between the children of Israel and Pharaoh. And only afterwards, slowly, as the force of Pharaoh grows, then they begin to feel just how I opposite it is just from their nature, their goal, and that they must perform all sorts of actions in order to escape from Egypt.
19. S. (46:16) Any topic we will choose we reach the fact that we have no possibility to do anything without the help of the Creator and with each and every thing we have to raise a prayer. Is this advancement towards the recognition of evil?
R. Yes, we recognize the evil that the Creator created in us.
Reading excerpt number 3 (49:35) “When one walks on the path..”
20. S. (52:08) Does the help of the Creator come directly into the man or does the Creator guide the person with the mouth of the friends through a friend?
R. Through all kinds of opportunities, means that influence man and a person changes. Also in this that he sends a person all kinds of questions and answers, that they come to a person’s mind and he hears them from that his environment. The Creator influences a person through many means, but a person doesn’t identify it so much in the meantime. Later on more and more, he identifies the different manners, the different tubes by which the Creator influences him. And thus we get closer more and more until we reach me to my beloved and my beloved to me, in a direct, mutual connection.
21. S. (53:48) We say that the relation to the friend and to the Creator should be equal. In practice it doesn’t work out this way.
R. We need to advance and see how much it will be like this. That the importance of the friends will be in your eyes as if the importance of the Creator.
S. Are we talking only about the importance because the relation is not the same relation.
R. The importance determines the attitude.
S. Of the friend I don’t ask anything and I don’t demand from him anything.
R. Because you don’t feel dependent on him and of the Creator you imagine to yourself that you are dependent on Him.
S. If I will feel that I depend on the friend, I mean I don’t come to him, I don’t demand of him any changes in the connection between us.
R. Then you will relate to the friend as the Creator if you’ll feel that you are dependent on him to the same extent.
S. But I cannot relate to him like the Creator and demand something from the friend that he changes or even that..
R. Why not? If the friend influences you truly in the same extent as the Creator, then you will relate to the friend as the Creator.
S. I just give a good example to the friends and a high spirit.
R. What does it have to do with a good example or not? I’m talking about yourself, of your desire, that everything depends on this. That you understand, feel, reveal that you are dependent on the attitude of the friend towards you. If we would feel that we are dependent on our friends in order to connect to the ten, influence and bestow to the Creator and to rise to a spiritual degree, then we would relate to them differently. Our attitude towards them would be as the source of the spiritual force. Yes, we need to think about it. To recognize it, it’s a very big thing and it’s not so simple. Until a person begins to identify this connection, his dependence on the ten, then he returns to the same articles and as Rabash wrote about Rabbi Yosi Ben Kisma and so on.
22. S. (56:48) What happens to the will to receive when a person works on behalf of the greatness of the Creator?
R. The will to receive works from such as the Creator, he feels it as such, the person performs the action, what the will to receive demands of him.
S. Is this his fuel?
R. Yes, yes, the greatness of the Creator is his fuel.
S. The reward, does it mean that he is working for a reward?
R. The reward depends on intention: if you feel that the greatness of the Creator is the reward or is it just a means to reach a reward? And that the reward for him is truly to bestow to the Creator so you need the greatness of the Creator in order to bestow to Him. So to feel the greatness of the Creator as a reward, no, it’s a means otherwise you cannot bestow. But when we reach the attainment of the greatness of the Creator, then for him, that is the bestowal, that the bestowal to the Creator is the reward and not that the recognition of the greatness of the Creator is the reward.
S. From reward and punishment where it could be that the greatness of the Creator is also reward for him to simply the greatness.
R. That’s how it works. It all depends on what is the main thing and what is secondary, what’s the means and what’s the goal.
23. S. (58:47) I want to be precise: if the Creator, when He wants to give to the created being and the create a being refuses to receive, does the Creator receive pleasure from that, is that the beginning of the work?
R. Yes.
24. S. (59:39) Where do we receive the desire to give contentment to the Creator when this desire disappears, it’s concealed, it’s not felt?
R. We receive, of course, in return from the Creator, by this that the person studies, is with the society, he awakens all sorts of opportunities on himself, all sorts of changes in the upper illumination, and as such he changes and the sensation of the Creator.
25. S. (01:00:37) How to remind ourselves that we are operating for the Creator not for ourselves?
R. How to remind ourselves that we operate for the sake of the Creator, that is work in the ten; that’s the net, clean work of the friends, they need to be all the time directing one another towards the direction of bestowal of contentment to the Creator. And I think for women it is even easier than the men then for the men to do it.
26. S. (01:01:31) How come in the mind it is easy to understand that the Creator ss great but in the heart it is so difficult, why do we have this inner gap?
R. We simply need to work and then out of our deeds we will see what is happening with us because in the meantime we do not have so much material in order to begin with it to work ,to do something, something we’re cooking up, continue working
27. S. (01:02:23) If in my attempts to awaken the ten, to build the right connection, I do not see mutuality, reciprocity from the ten, is my problem or the tens problem?
R. I don’t know what to tell you, it could be that it could be a problem in the ten, it could be that the problem is in you. But once again I’m saying it is not worthwhile for you to stop and to change something, rather more and more to work on the connection of the ten, and to understand that what is happening in the ten is happening from the Creator. It is not that the friends don’t want or that there’s some other reason, all in all it is the Creator that is in the center of the ten. He leads to ten towards connection in His path, in His way, in His way. And we need to only continue, more and more and more, like little kids, to demand, demand and demand connection.
28. S. (01:03:50) what can I do in the ten if my personal example does not work?
R. That is not correct, I need to work for connection of the ten nevertheless, and not despair and to see, nonetheless, just how much the society is changing. We are in the period of time that there will surely be changes truly will be changes for connection in the ten, so let’s just be persistent with it. I feel you and there is in all of you very much forces, opportunities, qualities that you can absolutely reach strong connection, true one.
29. S. (01:05:14) If all the thoughts come from the Creator and I actualize them when I think of Him, then in this action do I give Him contentment?
R. Of course, every action of mine, the smallest, for the connection between us: in study, in the group, whatever it may be. It causes contentment to the Creator, all in all the Creator is that same force that we feel in the intensity of our connection according to quality and quantity.
30. S. (01:05:55) Is the state of, “and the children of Israel sighed from the work and they cried out”, is that a state of joy that following the search and the long effort I find the prayer, I find the door and the key for the door, is this the right feeling?
R. Yes, first you don’t need to find the door and the key to the door, but at the moment that you will be ready, you will feel its opening in front of you and you enter it. There’s even a letter about it about Baal HaSulam, that we see a wall and the moment we are ready to go on to the next degree, the spiritual one, then in this wall suddenly an entrance is opened up and we enter it.
31. S. (01:07:00) If my friends are the means by which to reach the Creator, isn’t this an egoistic way to use my friends?
R. No because we turn to the has one vessel, one system, and no one can without the other; that only on the condition that we are connected between us, we go from place to place, degree to degree, stage to stage.
32. S. (02:07:35) I feel dependant on my friends in the ten but if I ask them to perform certain actions they may feel that they are being coerced. So what is the difference between performing an action by coercion and doing it the right way?
R. It is a very big difference, sometimes action by force, coercion is good, sometimes the opposite, I need to see it all according to the conditions the Creator places before me.
33. S. (01:08:21) If I feel that the common prayer is not working and there’s a feeling that each one is playing in her time and the others are not incorporating, what should we do in that case, when we do not have the feeling of the common prayer?
R. It is not important, we do not need to pray at the same time like the masses usually do, we need to be only in one heart, that we will live in one deficiency: what do we all want? And then this should act on the Creator, that is all?
34. S. (01:09:18) We work in the ten and with the help of that we can turn to the Creator and with the help of that, we can turn to the Creator and we can feel how it’s working inside of us.
R. Yes.
S. Does the feeling appear also that He’s operating through the ten back towards me?
R. Of course, I need to see all the actions of the ten on me, that it is the Creator doing it, that None Else besides Him. Even the friend whose operating on me, just one not even to ten, I also have to accepted that it’s coming from the Creator.
S. Are the actions that we do on each other in order to reach connection then we say that from this connection we should turn to the Creator?
R. Yes.
S. But the answer for the prayer, is it also felt that it’s through all the friends in the ten, that it’s in the ten, or is it inside of me and I don’t feel it is it coming through the friends.
R. We do not understand behind every friend stands the Creator. Rabash writes about it a few times in his letters, that There Is None Else besides Him. None of us are really operating, the Creator’s doing everything, and the more we advance we are more annulled towards the Creator who operates through everyone and on everyone, and There Is None Else besides Him.
S. Maybe we can depict it, what is that feeling that the Creator’s working on me through the friend, or through each and everything, not that He’s operating inside of me but through something that is external to me?
R. How can I describe this, I don’t know? I don’t know what to tell you.
S. Because we feel the results of things in our desire, in the way we suddenly want one thing or another thing and our relation changes?
R. As much as we will adhere each friend to the Creator and we will understand that it is only the Creator’s appearance towards me that in such matter, in this matter, I advance rapidly to identify the Creator in everything, that besides Him there is nothing else and this is what I need to reveal.
S. What is this special feeling that I feel the Creator through the friend, I see the friend and I work with him, I have a certain relation to him. But what is the Creator relation to me through the friend?
R. That the Creator depicts before me some depiction like this and through this depiction I will clothe the Creator. Where are the articles from Rabash?
S. The Creator hides Himself in the Clothing of the Friends, in the Others.
R. I do not have what to add here.
S. It’s in the article, What is the Middle Line In The Work by Rabash.
35. R. (01:12:54) Maybe ask more, I, as if, feel what he is asking: how to describe the Creator through the friend? We will see, if it’s a question I’m sure it will rise up.
36. S. (01:13:12) If we accepted our nature to work is to work and be essentially accepted, there’s a sensation of joy. Is this the opening, what we’re talking about, the opening to the gate when we just accept we are working, this is our nature and we experience joy in doing it no condition, and we just accept this and we work for serving the Creator and He extends joy, is that the opening?
R. Yes, joy is a necessary condition.
Reading special excerpt: Why is the Torah called Middle Line in the Work (01:14:28 – 01:15:44) “ a person sees people’s faces but the person should believe behind the people’s faces than the greater and he performs these actions that he is behind the person stands that created and he compels him to do the Deeds that the Creator wants it follows that the Creator does everything however the person regardless what he sees and not what he should believe” Twice
Reading #4 (01:16:00 – 01:19:06) “why do we need to work for the sake of the creator as it is written..” twice
37. S. (01:19:12) Do we need to depict the Creator as having a deficiency or no?
R. It depends on what you’re talking about when you’re saying “having a deficiency”, that the Creator’s sorry that He wants? So being sorry and wanting is all for us to reach wholeness. In our concepts He certainly has no lack, no deficiency.
S. What is it that we want to come into connection with the Creator?
R. That we want to bestow to Him, He shows us a deficiency that He wants us to fill His deficiency and His deficiency is not like ours. For us it is of lack, His deficiency is because He wants to give.
S. The Creator wanting to give, is it right to depict Him as wanting to five and I’m not giving Him the opportunity to give?
R. Yes, what is the first time for you in a lesson?
S. No but here He’s depicting everything or the benefit of the creature.
R. Of course everything is for the benefit of the creature, the Creator has no deficiency to begin with.
S. I’m looking for the right connection to be mutual.
R. It is mutual when you bestow to each other everything you can.
38. S. (01:20:51) Is what we’re reading here, is to come to the knowledge of holiness?
R. Yes, yes.
39. S. (01:21:09) The degree of the Creator, is it something that is fed?
R. It always increases, it rises according to the extent we want to reach equivalent to form with the Creator.
Reading #5 (01:21:35 – 01:27:13) “when a person wishes to walk on the path of Truth meaning that all his Works will be for the Creator..” Twice
40. S. (01:27:24) What does it mean that “the confidence in the help of the Creator should be based in how the Creator understands it and not how I understand it?
R. What you understand that the Creator should help and what the Creator understands that He should help you are two very different things. The Creator is the general system incorporating the entire reality and according to the advancement of reality towards the purpose of creation, He brings you from one state to another. And you, you do not know this system and this plan; rather you want to advance according to what you think, see, feel. And that is the difference, that is why it is written, “make your desire like His”.
S. How I can be certain in this feeling of what the Creator wants to give me?
R. The correction begins when you are content with whatever state you were in, it’s very simple.
S. So what do I have to ask with?
R. You are only asking to be attached to the Creator in each and every moment, no matter what you feel, no matter what you get.
S. Yes, it follows that why does He awaken the deficiency?
R. He does it for you to all the time adapt yourself to the Creator, and you will see in what change, what difference you are from Him.
41. S. (01:29:50) What does it mean to ask to be in adhesion with the Creator in every state, how to do this?
R. It’s something that we need to learn but start it from now, whatever you feel, try to say, “thank you very much” for it.
S. I try but it’s never successful doing this.
R. It’s a sign you’ve never tried.
S. I asked how to try it properly?
R. I don’t know, why I only tell you what it should be, that’s how it should be.
42. S. (01:30:42) So basically my prayer and effort is based on the deficiency that I receive?
R. Yes.
43. S. (01:30:57) This is my question: I want to annul before the Creator and I want everything to happen as He has determined for me, is this the right approach?
R. Yes.
44. S. (01:31:25) How can we do that ‘the importance of the friends will be the importance of the Creator’?
R. We need to think about that a lot and to exert, but this should be really same thing because outside of men’s body it, all there is, is the Creator. And the fact that He is clothed in various shapes: still, vegetative, animate, humans, and also upper, higher forces than that. All that is to give a person an opportunity to make an effort and to resemble Him, the Creator.
45. S. (01:32:29) It is written here that “we have to trust in the Creator”, to trust in the Creator is this a measure of faith in the Creator?
R. Yes.
46. S. (01:32:51) I wanted to ask: for the daily life, we also have to see the Creator behind everything?
R. No, no, not in your daily life, in your daily life you should behave to the entire reality, just like everyone else. Only in the ten and from within the ten, there we speak and behave as There Is None Else Besides Him.
47. S. (01:33:52) A person sits in the lesson and the Creator sends him thoughts not connected to what is happening here, a bunch of nonsense. He understands it’s coming from the Creator but how can I be satisfied from this state?
R. Complain to Him, complain.
S. But you said to be happy, to be satisfied.
R. No, complain why the Creator is sending these thoughts to you. Ask for Him to explain, why do you need this? Of course you need this in order to advance so how to advance, why? Try to scrutinize that.
S. This should be the prayer: Creator explain to me why why I’m constantly thinking about steaks, for example.
R. Yes.
48. S. (01:34:52) In the previous excerpt we read that what we have to give is only the vessel to the Creator, for Him to take pleasure from it. But now it seems that everything I want is just to be satisfied, to be happy and to ask only for adhesion. So how do I bring contentment with that to the Creator?
R. By thinking about Him all the time and wanting Him to be the manager over the entire reality.
S. So then what do I receive from Him, how do I take pleasure from this?
R. You enjoy the fact that you’re making an effort in order to crown the Creator as the manager of the entire reality.
S. And this is what brings me contentment and I’m satisfied? Because I don’t feel very happy.
R. Try to enjoy it.
S. How?
R. From the fact that you today have taken part of the Creator work for a few minutes, wanting to raise Him to be above everything.
S. And he also enjoys from this?
R Certainly.
S. How does He enjoy from this?
R. How does He enjoy it? I cannot tell. But Kabbalists who know and understand it wrote that He enjoys it, and later you also lets you feel His joy.
49. S. (01:37:11) How to take contentment to the Creator as He wants it and not as I want it, to be confident in Him?
R. Through the friends, we’ve read that many times and we’ve learned, only through the friends. The Creator is concealed behind the friends and I should be incorporated in the friends in order to find Him. To the extent that I take myself apart, I dilute myself in the friends to that extent I become closer and closer to the Creator.
50. S. (01:38:02) What does it mean for the Creator that he is being trusted?
R. That I’m connected more and more to Him in everything I go through.
51. S. (01:38:17) From excerpt 5 it says that the work is of a man with himself. Can one pray for oneself?
R. Yes, why not. I want to be corrected, connect it to my friends, closer to the Creator, to bestow contentment to Him, to feel how close he is to me.
52. S. (01:38:51) Is it correct to say that as much as we resemble the quality of bestowal the more we understand the Creator better?
R. Yes, the closer we are to each other the closer we are to the Creator.
52. S. (01:39:13) How in the work in the connection between us to come and feel the outside of us?
R. Outside of us? We have to discover the field that is really inside of us, between us more and more and more, and join this field to us as a common field where you discover the Creator in a more and more apparent form, intense.
S. (01:40:04) What is to work with the ten for the benefit of the Creator?
R. What is it to work with the ten with the sake of the Creator? It’s when we connect between ourselves and build like a network of connections between us and in this network we catch the Creator, we perceive the Creator.
S. (01:40:35) How can we acquire faith in the Creator if we don’t feel that He answers our prayers?
R. It’s when we don’t feel it, it doesn’t mean that He doesn’t answer. We should continue more and more in the connection between us until we discover in the connection between us the Creator. The thing is, to the extent that we can identify these small things in the connection between us, how much we are connecting between ourselves in more and more subtle discernments. And to that extent we discover the Creator more and more, specifically in the connection between us.
S. (01:41:45) I heard you say that I depend on the way my friends relate to me. So my friends have to ask for me or for the ten? How do we properly focus the effort in the prayer for the private or the collective?
R. Both. It’s written about that that we can ask for a friend, a certain friend and for all the friends and for the connection between everyone.
S. (01:42:27) How is our readiness expressed to move to the next degree?
R. To move to the next degree that’s something we need in this degree already, to buy the deficiencies for the next degree. Then we can rise to it, that’s it.
