Yom Kippur – The Day of Atonement – Selected Excerpts from the sources
1. Rav’s Introduction: This is truly something special, first of all it is an opportunity where there is a specific day when we are commanded to speak about our crimes in the desire to receive to the crimes to the world, to love of friends, to the group, to the Creator, to everything and to truly think about what it means to be a criminal, to be one who performs crimes, if we are all born in this sin and this is what the Creator says; I have created the evil inclination so I understand that in order for us to reach the purpose of life, the purpose of creation, the purpose of existence we have to resemble the Creator but why do we have to ask for forgiveness for the fact that he has made us in such a way?
This is not rational, it is not logical instead currently the forgiveness that we are asking for is not for the fact that we received from the Creator, from our source an evil inclination but that we also received an opportunity to emerge from this and to identify with him and get closer to him and we did not use this opportunity sufficiently and correctly and this is what we have to account for, to scrutinize and to have a judgment over and examination for and to feel remorse and forgiveness to those opportunities that the Creator gave us in order to overcome our desire to receive, our evil inclination and in order for us to study it in such a way and specifically on top of overcoming it, in overcoming above it we will learn what is the good inclination and otherwise we will not be able to know what is the good inclination.
It has to come instead of the evil inclination that we do not want it to rule over us, to determine our lives so only in such a way when we fully reject our desire to receive, our ego and we do not want it to exist in us to fulfill as to determine out life only in such a way when we truly reject it with our hands and legs and any way possible and it is not only by ourselves but through all the effort that we make together in the to understand it nature and how much it nevertheless doesn’t want to come out of us to leaves us. In the in the fight with it we start to feel the differences between it and the Creator, between the desire to receive and the desire to bestow and in this we establish the force of overcoming, the screen and the entire system of Kedusha, holiness, meaning giving and connection that we establish inside of us.
Therefore all of our work is specifically thanks to us having an evil inclination to begin with and we can fight against it and the in this fight we only feel what does it means the good inclination and otherwise we would not even know, we wouldn’t touch and understand or feel what it means the good inclination, that the good inclination is born in us, it appears in us only out of us being in a struggle with the evil inclination therefore one who is greater than his friend his evil inclination is also greater meaning as much as the person is born with a greater evil inclination that he is struggling with then he can invert it into a greater good inclination and therefore all of those great ones that we learn about in the history of the Wisdom of Kabbalah.
Those great Kabbalists, the prophets, all of them were very big selfish people to begin with and as much as they tried to overcome themselves they felt how difficult it was for them and it does not work and the Creator seemingly does not help them enough and they complain against the Creator and in this way more and more they advance to the recognition of evil, the truthful evil that exists in them but they do not let go of the past because they understand that there is nowhere to escape to but there is only a single way towards the end of correction and therefore they kept going and as Rabash writes here only the mighty once with patience can do it and they eventually opened, what else can I say?
All the rest we will read it and we will talk about it that we are coming and approaching the scrutiny of the evil inclination as much as it exist in us, operates in us and how much we have to catch it and strangle it and threw it away and go forward without it and escape from it and more and more obstruction said that will eventually help us that instead of the evil inclination residing in us to adhere to the Creator.
2. S. (08:28) Why exactly does the struggle help to reveal the good principle relative to the evil?
R. The advantage of light out of darkness and therefore we cannot understand the evil without good and the good without evil instead it is something that is from it’s opposite this is how we learn and this is how in our world even when we study different materials in physical life we also measure one thing against the other we have no other choice we should always have one opposite the other, this is how we attain each and every detail in creation.
3. S. (09:31) It is very difficult to understand that the disposition to good is coming out of the struggle with the evil inclination but they say that anybody who is greater than his friend his inclination also is greater. I do not understand this.
R. The good inclination is the Creator. You cannot grasp it or feel it all the more so to measure it and taste it you cannot do that so how can you approach it? Only out of the fact that you have something that is opposite to it which is the evil inclination and therefore when you reach a state where you have inside of you a small desire that the Creator planted in you, inserted into you a good inclination and you through this very small good inclination that you have inside of you. You want to become separated from the evil inclination, you want to distance yourself from the evil inclination, you even maybe want to control it in all kinds of such dispositions that for the time being they are small and childish but you begin to get to know that the evil inclination is great that it fills the whole of reality and you have no opportunity to control it, to defeat it and this is how you begin to get to know what creation is, what the Creator created.
Because other than the Creator exist only this evil inclination that he created and when you want to fight with it you see that this is not possible it takes a lot of time while you fight and you think you can as usual just like all the things in your physical world but when you take some tools and the some weapons and you go and try to succeed but here you see that you do not have any force you do not have a mind, an intellect, this is something that is above you, it is always coming from above conquering you as much as you try to turn yourself you see that never the less you are in your selfish desire and that this is why the Kabbalists immediately recommend to us to reach a ten.
To build a small ship which is the ten and in that state of each one is helping his friend giving examples to each other talking about it to each other, with this we can rise, we can transcend our selfish ego that the Creator deliberately created to begin with so that we through the opposition to our selfish ego we discover his qualities of love and bestowal and connection and help and in this way through one opposite to the other that the Lord has made in this way we can learn what it means the good inclination, connection and bestowal and adhesion and love.
4. S. (14:09) I can give a testimony that the prayer of the friends does work, not only the friends in the ten but all of the Bnei Baruch organization so if you allow me I can say that for several months already they have found masses in my lungs in a scan which looked certainly like cancer and I send photos to my group and all of Bnei Baruch and I ask for a prayer, not that it won’t be cancer but I just asked for a prayer that no matter what I would have the strength to stay and think about the Creator and the friends and not about what is happening in my body. Today I got the result that it is not cancer so I was very happy about it and I see that it is truly the prayer of the friends and each and every friend is important for the whole system. It is a wonderful thing.
R. Usually we do not speak like this before everybody. You are not used to it yet, you are still new and you have all kinds of habits from your earlier life but okay, nevertheless it is all good.
Excerpt 1.(16:31 – 18:56) “The days of the ten penitential days are called “days of forgiving” Twice
5. S. (18:56) How through the prayer and what kind of a prayer should there be in order to come out of the public domain to the domain of oneself?
R. At least ask about this, you have many different desires inside of you, many thoughts and desires and intentions, that you truly are being pulled in all kinds of different directions and they do not let you rest and you want to be directed only to the Creator. You take them into account of course, these are components and elements of your life but instead of you craving to reach all of these goals instead you want to use them only in order to reach the Creator through them. This is the big change that we have to make in us. Imagine that, look within yourself, that you have all kinds of goals that you want to reach, you want to do this and that and that and now you change your relation to them. Instead of relating to them you only relate to the Creator and how to reach him but you use all those same goals that were pulling you in different directions you use them to reach specifically the Creator. This is called to enter the domain of the single one from the public domain.
S. How do I come to that thanks to all these problems?
R. You relate to them as if they were actually aiming you to the Creator. You are not drawn to them but rather through them you are drawn to the Creator because the Creator, you do not see him, you do not identify him you do not know who he is or what he is so how do you know how to approach him, in which way? You can get closer to the Creator by you all of your disturbances you focus them how to reach him so each and every disturbances is not a disturbance it does not pull you into some other forms rather all of them specifically imaging that they are all pushing you to reach only the Creator this is called help against that instead of them pulling you in all kinds of different directions thoughts desires, and intentions, seductions of all kinds, you start to aim yourself in such a way that against all of them you specifically imaging what it means to get closer to the Creator and then you’ll see that it is arranged in such a way that specifically the evil intention begins to help you to get closer to the Creator.
S. How to get to such a difficult position besides all the problems that suddenly appear, where and how you will live, on the other hand you have to reach the Creator?
R. It is right when you aim yourself to the Creator and you want to be adhered to him then you’ll have no problem in which form and which state you exist physically rather you take upon yourself the physical concerns, concerns about life but this is in order to provide for the family and to take care of your household but you yourself are adhered to the Creator and only out of you being adhered to him you can arrange your life.
S. I do not understand.
R. Just continue and soon you will see, for the time being you have heard me.
6. S. (24:12) It turns out that we need this confusion so will it be correct to say that we need these, can you confirm this?
R. Only through the confusions and helplessness and scrutinizing everything but we are not able to, only through this we grow, our scrutiny can grow and we begin to be wiser to distinguish between evil and good, between light and darkness so much so that we discover the light out of the darkness and this is how we advance, this is our work.
7. S.(25:11) How does the revelation of the quality of the ego or bestowal are revealed from the opposite?.
R. We try all the time to detect what is the good force against the evil for that resides in us, that controls us and in measuring and distinguishing between these two forces, the good and the bad, giving and reception, we begin to understand what are these two systems that work on us and we need eventually to connect these two systems we should not erase the evil inclination to burn it or anything, none of it, if we read it in this way then we have to understand that what we need is their implementation of the good against the evil … We have to use all the forces in the system of the right side and we have to reach the intention to bestow, this is our work and slowly we will learn how to do this.
8. S. (27:12) There is truly a feeling that we are entering very special times. When reading this text and we are breathing them through our nostrils and feel very strong sensations in the heart and the question is how to bring it into our common heart? How can we bring these impressions into our common heart?
R. You have to talk about it more and think about it more until drop by drop it will enter into your hearts yes it is only through being persistent nothing besides that. By the person let’s say coming to some work and he begins to work with very delicate things that he in the beginning completely does not pay attention to them he does not see them but gradually by working with these little things he begins to receive emotions towards these things and and intellect and attitude and these little things start to become for him in his feelings and understanding something important, he starts to build a certain model and then he sees in that great things with many different details while at the beginning he just saw them as a point so we have in that a lot of work but in the end this is how we have to see this, it is just like with everything.
An expert has many different details with but he is working with and the studying and those who do not belong to it they see it’s something not important or something very simple this is how it is so we will enter the work with our desire to receive as much they can be connected each form of connection they can enter. It is just like chemical materials how much they connect and divide according to their balance or homeostasis and number and how the external electrons and internal protons and according to that we can see what are these laws that truly exist inside of our physical matter also.
9. S. (30:40) What does it mean that we will take all the forces except for the intentions? What forces?
R. We will get the forces from our evil inclination but the intentions we need to get from above, from the Creator, from the good inclination that comes to us from Him. Therefore the forces, the raw forces we get from the evil inclination and the intentions from the good inclination, and this is how we advance.
10. S. (31:32) It says in the excerpt that by our own actions we can come out of this strait. Isn’t the prayer an action of oneself?
R. N, because you connect with the Creator, you hinge yourself on the help of the Creator.
11. S. (32:05) What is special about the 10 days of atonement compared to the rest of the year? Is the prayer stronger in these 10 days?
R. It is not about the 10 days, it’s about the person. If a person intends to change, wants to change and he prepares himself, then even in a psychological manner he is already a different person, and it is possible to bring him closer to some extent to in order to bestow, to sanctity.
12. S. (32:56) Why do we need to pay for our previous sins if every day is new to us?
R. How do you progress correctly today if you did not regret and repent for yesterday? How? Also in our own life this is how we do it.
13. S. (33:43) You mentioned the arguments, the claims great Kabbalists had for the Creator, is that something we must have in the prayer?
R. The prayer also includes at demand when we tell the Creator that He has to correct us. So why do we turn to Him? Because He is the source of life, He formed us this way and therefore we can turn to Him. And in truth He is happy for this when we turn to Him.
S. How can we reach such a feeling that I have the right to demand from the Creator?
R. Out of the awareness that you are close to Him and He created you. And He created you deliberately with all kinds of qualities that are unpleasant, incorrect and so then you turn it to Him to change it. It only testifies how much to your greatness, how much you grow and feel and understand. So therefore you can demand and the Creator is happy that He created in you all kinds of incorrect inclinations and you are asking to replace them.
S. And if I feel that I cannot reach a demand?
R. It’s a sign that you do not feel how bad it is and therefore do not deserve to be in the good inclination. The Creator wants you to discover all of the forms that are the opposite of Him and that you will want all the forms that are in favor of Him, that are like what He has.
14. S. (36:05) According to the healthy intellect it seems that one who has a greater evil inclination, a more powerful inclination his address to the Creator will be more powerful. But here it turns out that even people with a small ego, their address is equal to the ones who have a big ego. Can you explain this? It’s not clear.
R. Each and everybody works with whatever he has, that’s my answer. A small one with a small inclination, a great one with a great inclination, it’s all relative.
15. S. (37:00) It says in the excerpt that one who feels his lowness is more able to give a prayer from the bottom of the heart because he knows that by his own actions he cannot come out of the strait. It says that he knows that he is incapable so then he raises a prayer. So what is the prayer from the bottom of the heart?
R. When he feels he’s incapable and only the Creator can help him.
Reading 2. Twice (37:44)
16. R. (39:30) This means we should reach a request, such a request that the Creator will replace our will to receive with the will to bestow. Meaning the intentions, from the intention in order to receive to the intention in order to bestow and through this we will reach adhesion between us and with the Creator. And this is how we come back to the beginning of creation but already corrected, with all our desires that were corrupt. We have corrected them, attached them together and this is considered complete repentance, and we come to eternal adhesion which is the purpose of creation.
17. S. (40:26) I heard a few times in the excerpts that during the judgment and Yom Kippur there is concern of fear of receiving in order to receive for myself. Why is it specifically during Yom Kippur that we have such a warning?
R. Because we are very close, when we are very close to big forces we may be mistaken.
S. How to be cautious of it, how to avoid it during the judgment?
R. Only through connection. This is why throughout these days we are truly in a connection between us.
18. S. (41:20) This prayer to return the intention to be in order to bestow you said that the Creator changes this intention through our request. Let’s say now I think about myself and I ask the Creator through the ten to change that in me, so suddenly would He change it so I don’t think about myself?
R. All the rest the Creator will do, that’s not your business, you don’t know how this works. You don’t know how this happens and you won’t know. It’s not for you to know.
19. S. (42:09) What does it mean to discover the wholeness that’s specifically in these days?
R. Both the evil inclination and good inclination come from the Creator all we need to do is to determine what we want to be controlled by.
S. But isn’t this a struggle that happens every day? Why specifically on these days?
R. Yes but during these days especially we have to make account and demand.
20. S. (42:48) Earlier you said that we work with subtleties that on first look we don’t see them we just see them as points. I would like to ask how can I, in the lesson, discern and diagnose these subtleties according to the questions?
R. This is something you have to scrutinize on your own, I don’t know exactly what subtleties you have that you work with. You need to scrutinize this on your own.
21. S. (43:39) It says about judgements that there is fear that the outer ones must come into self reception in mind and heart. What does it mean, the outer ones and what is happening there?
R. External ones, outer ones are our thoughts in order to receive. When we can think in order to bestow about adhesion coming close between us all of a sudden we discover that all of these things for us are because each one thinks or I think of gaining something, succeeding on the account of everyone else.
Reading 3. Twice 44:38
22. S. (48:49) Does this mean that for that one day if we repent on that one day through this we have an opportunity to bring the Malchut to ZA?
R. Any day that you repent you may bring the Malchut to the degree of ZA in adhesion with it. But in order to mention, to have the symbol of this action we have this single day every year.
23. S. (49:53) As much as we are in distance between us in the ten we come closer to in order to receive or actually getting closer to bestowal?
R. We are coming closer to in order to receive, and we are coming closer to see and understand that it is an iniquity. And out of that we come closer to a request for correction according to the rule if one is greater than his friend his inclination greater.
S. So the distancing is what is causing us to reach the request?
R. The distancing we feel when we grow further away, it pushes us to request repentance and corrections, yes.
S. And how when we feel distancing can we immediately adhere ourselves again to each other?
R. It is not at once. We connect, we try to connect or overcome in the ten, we hear from others how much they are in states, even without our words. We’re in a single system, we are cooking in a single pot so to speak. This is why all the discernments that each and everyone has, they get it from their friends. What I have , what the friends have, everything connects and is incorporated and we are really being cooked together. This is why we have many discernments about things that we had in the past and this is how we grow.
S. The more we get closer between us or become incorporated in each other, is this already called Dvekut, adhesion?
R. It’s on the way to adhesion, it’s not yet adhesion. We are only incorporated in order to scrutinize how much we are not adhered yet, but these discernments are essential.
S. So what is adhesion in the ten?
R. Adhesion is what we attain later above the egoistic desire of each and everyone.
24. S. (52:52) I want to ask about the state where we feel this distancing and how much the distancing is because of the egoistic desire which makes everything stuck. But opposite that I don’t yet feel a prayer, a prayer is not awakening. So in that state what is missing because I do want to build a prayer against it?
R. What you are missing is a need, a need to attain the goal, some goal in the middle, in the end, wherever it should appear. And then you’ll see how much you are not coming to that, you are not aimed, you are not coming close. As we realize these actions that are written here in this excerpt, that even if we’re not coming close to the goal we are starting to see how much we are already aimed at it. This is already a big achievement. It’s as if you are in sight, you see. Suppose you have a rifle and you are trying to shoot something. Even though you don’t reach it from afar you can see your target and you can hit it, achieve it in a certain way. And this is why here it’s about directing ourselves to the right goal, it’s before us and this is why it is a great state nonetheless.
S. So what exists between feeling rejection and control of the will to receive and being aimed towards the goal?
R. By the rejections from the desire to receive we come slowly to the will to bestow, one is there as opposed to the other. This is why if I am pushed away from the will to receive, I hate it, I’m suffering from it, in a certain way by envy, lust and honor I nonetheless aim myself, it turns out that I’m aimed at in order to bestow more and more. Intentions, action in order to bestow for me are no longer as they used to be, unclear, I was rejected from them, it was disgusting for me. But now it has become at least to a certain extent desirable, and I hope that one day I will come to a state where I’ll yearn for that and I’ll do it.
25. S. (56:35) He speaks about unification that correct all the crimes. What does he mean about this unification?
R. I’m not sure what you’re talking about so I’m going to read it, excerpt 3: Since all the sins come only from the will to receive himself it follows that there is judgment of Malchut, hence it must be used because it’s entirely in order to receive. Hence we must repent to the extent that Malchut expands that will near ZA which is called equivalence of form and adhesion. So that Malchut has same intention as ZA, to bestow. The will to receive in Malchut doesn’t change, the intention should change. wIn other words as ZA gives, so will Malchut acquire such correction for by repenting when we say that henceforth all the actions will be in order to bestow which is called Rachamim like ZA it’s follows that repentance causes Malchut which is called the quality of judgment prior to the correction to become Rachamim after the correction like ZA.
This change Malchut takes upon itself is called the correction. By this we can interpret return O Israel meaning that the repentance that a person should make is to make Malchut who is called your God the quality of judgment from the Lord which is Mercy. This unification corrects all the corruptions that the iniquities caused. When the intention is in order to receive it caused all this to come out of Malchut ..creating remoteness between the Creator and Shechina. It follows that through this unification all the iniquities have been atoned. So that in Malchut there won’t be any intentions to receive and that is why it will be corrected as ZA. ZA is what we call the Creator and Malchut is the Shechina and then there is a connection between the Creator and the Shechina.
26. S. (01:00:14) It’s not really clear for me. What kind intentions should I have in order for all the corruptions caused by evil inclination to be corrected by the Creator?
R. When you turn all these desires from in order to receive to in order to bestow. These desires are correct, the intentions are incorrect. You need only to correct your intentions. What do you want to have as a result of each and every desire you have?
27. S. (01:01:07) How can we say that henceforth we will no longer repeat the same mistakes as it says here. Where do we get such a confidence?
R. There is no confidence, the only confidence you have is in the Creator when He holds what you corrected and He doesn’t let you fall.
S. And the next moment each time again it will be revealed, so my promise won’t hold.
R. In the next moment you get a new desire and a new intention and thoughts, everything is new. What was in the past was corrected already and the next moment you already need to correct new things.
28. S. (01:02:12) You gave an example with shooting. How should we prepare in the ten so we will perform this shooting in the right way?
R. Connection between you and as much as you can as a result, the connection with the Creator, that’s it. And make these exercises as many times during the day as possible.
S. And in the prayer, in what exactly should we have the strike?
R. What you’re doing in connection between you and connection with the Creator will succeed, you need nothing else besides that.
29. S. (01:03:07) The addition in every moment or in every state, that this is what we show to the Creator, is this the key for bestowal?
R. That’s a question: why are you doing this action? In order to make the Creator happy.
30. S. (01:03:36) The years go by and it seems like you could just sleep in the evil inclination, to know about it but not to feel bad about it and then just die without changing. How do we make a feeling in the mind and a feeling in the heart?
R. Come closer between yourselves and then you will feel it is impossible to live in the evil inclination.
31. S. (01:04:07) What does it mean to awaken for repentance?
R. That you want to be to replace your intentions in order to bestow. You want to come closer to the friends and the Creator.
32. S. (01:04:27) When we will stop sinning? Is it only following the barrier?
R. It’s not like when you drive a bus or a train and you have the next stop which is after the barrier. Whenever you reach the qualities that are beyond the barrier, the Machsom, then you will feel that you are above it, you’ve crossed it.
33. S. (01:05:02) So why replacing the intentions from in order to bestow it is actually through connection with the friends and with the Creator?
R. How do you imagine any other way to do that?
S. What if a person has certain desires, temptations, disruptions that you said in the beginning, how can you correct them?
R. Correcting them, you have in your hand only these things when you come closer to your friends even though you don’t want it. You make the effort, physical, mental as much as you can. And you can try to turn to the Creator. What can I do in order to give contentment to the Creator? You have nothing besides that. Tell me what else is there?
S. So why seemingly it is as if there is no relation between the disruptions, desires, everything that awakens and deflects a person to self concern, and this action of connection with the friends and the Creator seems unrelated.
R. That’s true because all disturbances come from the distance between us and all corrections are from the connection between us. And in the distance and in the proximity we have thousands and thousands of different states that in a good way or bad way can be revealed.
S. But seemingly it’s not felt in the person. That he has all kinds of concerns beginning with existential concerns and up to worrying about luxuries and this distances him from the friends and from the Creator. So why are the disturbances in one place and the correction is in the connection with the friends and the Creator?
R. You have no other reason. You start to feel all kinds of phenomena in this world in an unpleasant way even though the reason for them is the distance between the different parts of the soul and the upper world. That’s the connection between the two worlds. That’s why when we want to come closer to each other despite the mutual rejection, when we even want to kill each other then we pray to the Creator to bring us closer, to connect us in such a way we can discover better intentions, closer to each other.
S. The fact that we want to kill each other, that is understood, and this is directly in the same place, I don’t want to connect with my friends and I’m not performing actions which are specifically towards connection with the friends, I’m asking about the disturbances that are seemingly outside of this field which is between the friends that hinder a person, they’re also related to the shattering right?
R. Everything depends on the shattering.
S. Such disturbances that deflect a person and occupy his heart and mind, how do we aim those towards the intention to bestowal through connection with the friends and the Creator?
R. We want the Creator to do that, to aim them, to connect them, that out of these desires and intentions that are opposite he’ll organize a new system for us, a network of connection between us, even though each one is the opposite or at least different from the other, we will be connected between ourselves.
S. Practically, so long as a person doesn’t feel connection between these two, the work of connection and coping with the disturbances he has in life, so what does he do?
R. I don’t know, imagine to yourself that if you connect with your friend at least to a certain extent, that in that connection between you, the Creator will be revealed to a certain extent he will be revealed, imagine that to yourself.
S. How will that solve the problems that are bothering him?
R. That solves all the problems because the revelation of the Creator is covering everything, there is no other source of our problems except for the distance and the concealment of the Creator and vice versa.
S. So he should go into this direction of connection even though it seems to him very unrelated to taking care of his disturbances?
R. You should try connect to the friends because this is what the Kabbalists told us and it’s written in the Torah as the desire of the Creator: love your friend as yourself.
34. S. (01:10:58) Here it says, return O’Israel, how can he live in that state of returning, repenting in the ten, specifically about Yom Kippur, what exercise do you suggest we do in the ten?
R. Just as we’re saying now, Yom Kippur as well, it is just mentioned as a special day, the truth is each and every day you can do the same actions and attain the same states, the same degrees, that is it. It is in order to mention this day that there is a special day you have to ask for forgiveness, each one has to act for everyone’s forgiveness, maybe you harmed them or did wrong so this is how we should advance. So don’t pay attention to the day, the day of atonement or not, but you should pay attention to what is inside, today to attain, feel and then we won’t need this day of atonement.
35. S. (01:12:39) Why does the person who studies Lishma understands that he knows nothing?
R. I don’t understand that, first of all, where did you find the person who studies Lishma telling you that he doesn’t understand anything, why are you talking about things you’re not in?
36. S. (01:13:12) Concerning this discussion, it looks like when we are working in the atonement that we are working working halfway, only for ZA, it is very confusing, are we not focusing, let’s say to the goal more, so what is this ZA, this sort of feeling of halfway in the group mean, what do focus on, to the ZA or should we go to Bina, what is this process, is it a halfway process in the scrutiny?
R. We should attain the intention in order to bestow, we cannot correct the desire and there is no need for us to correct the desire, it’s not at all something we are commanded to do, the only thing we have to do is to replace the intention from in order to receive to in order to bestow, that is called the ascent of Malchut to ZA, that’s what we need to focus on, connect together and demand from the Creator to bring us this intention in order to bestow between us and between the friends and from between us to him, the Creator, that is what we need. That is all. If we will write this before us and always think about it, you can be certain that we will attain it in a short time. What we have to ask of the Creator is connection between us and then in the connection between us in order to bestow we will also be able to bestow back to the Creator, that is considered Malchut besides connecting, which is the connection between us, is also raising itself to ZA which is the Creator that is all. Let’s go.
37. S. (01:15:44) If I receive blows and I am drawn to the connection in the ten, and I get good things when I’m connected and drawn to the ten, so where’s my choice here, where is my work?
R. Work is after the blows or the prizes, rewards, how do you decipher that, how do you direct that and how do you turn to the Creator, what is the result? The result is up to you, how much you connect with the friends, how much you want to reach the goal in connection with them, we are facing the goal, are we aiming ourselves towards it or not? Are we further and further connecting between us, this means we’re getting closer and closer to the goal, we are not driving in some cart or some train from here to the goal, rather the more we connect that means we are advancing to the goal, more connection, more connection until we become as one man in one heart and the goal resides in that one heart and is revealed there.
S. But if we are pushed from the bad or drawn by the sweet, where is our work, what is our work?
R. What do you do as a result of that, the fact that the Creator always awakens bitter or sweet, this indicates he wants us to advance, either this way or that way. What do we do, how do we respond to the awakenings from the Creator?
S. The Creator always awakens in such a way, bitter or sweet?
R. Yes, except we perhaps don’t feel it.
S. And how should we respond?
R. Look at how you respond, what are you asking me for?
Reading Introduction to the Study of the Ten Sefirot: Letter 42 (1:21:39) “Indeed you should know..”
38. R. (01:22:54) Most important is really to understand providence, how the Creator relates to us and how he constantly operates us nonstop and even if we see that suddenly we disconnect from him on his part, there is no disconnect on his part is non-stop treatment to each and everyone and all of us together and that is what we ultimately learn.
Excerpt #4 (01:23:37 ) What Is Preparation for Selichot [Forgiveness]”
39. R. ( 01:25:09) This is the only thing we lack, the power of faith. With this power of faith we are ready to feel the Creator’s attitude towards us and we are in some equivalents of form with him.
40. S. (01:25:30) As individuals or as the Ten lack of a good connection between the friends or with the Creator can an individual friend ask for the sins or the Ten as one needs to ask to forgive our sins?
R. Preferably everyone that each Ten is asking the Creator to forgive them for all their sins that they can be in connection between them and intention towards him. the Creator. Even though each and everyone is perhaps not in the actual state but if it comes to everyone together it comes from the Creator and that is the whole issue of forgiveness. What is forgiveness about? What are we asking for forgiveness for on Yom Kippur that we can’t direct ourselves towards the Creator. We have the opportunity and he’s giving us various opportunities but we are unable to produce the right request.
41. S. (01:27:24) He says that the lack of understanding of his guidance means that we don’t understand him correctly. What do we have to understand in our mind? Isn’t it all about our feelings?
R. It’s all about the feeling, the heart understands and not the brain.
S. But here it says we don’t understand him?
R. Right, the Creator influences our will to receive and shapes it, changes it, accordingly we feel changes these changes are in our attitude towards the friends and towards the Creator back to Him. The fact we don’t understand what kind of changes He makes within us, we don’t feel them well, we don’t decipher them in the right way, that’s what we are asking forgiveness for. It’s not just about the Creator for forgiveness because He designed and gave me all of my thoughts, desires, qualities, through which I respond. What does it mean to ask for forgiveness? He did everything for me anyway. Rather I ask for forgiveness. That means that I want him to change in me. all of my discernments that I will feel exactly where I am and what he wants from me.
S. That I will feel that something is wrong with some quality in me? Can you give me an example? Where could I see that something is wrong with me for instance ?
R. That you will feel that you don’t love the friend as you love yourself.
S. I have to reach a state where I have toI love friends as myself?
R. Yes, to connect into one system of Adam HaRishon, that means feeling everyone as you feel yourself and there is really no difference between you and all the others rather we all exist in one desire.
S. He says he’s speaking about constant faith or not constant faith, is there such a thing?
R. Yes, permanent and not permanent.
S. What does it mean that I am permanent or not?
R. Not permanent means that there is a unique illumination on you from above and that you are willing to be in connection with the others and permanently means that you truly reach such a state where you are connected to everyone to a single system.
S. He says if you are permanent there is no more trouble?
R. That’s a different thing if you have troubles or if you don’t have troubles. You talked about faith now you ask about troubles to me it;s not the same thing.
S. He says in the same sentence he says that whoever has permanent faith, he has no troubles?
R. All of the troubles he feels are in order to correct his faith to a higher degree.
42. S. (01:31:15) About the permanent faith of you said I had to check what is not ok with me. How do I understand what the Creator wants from me?
R. The Creator wants you to be just like Him, just like Him, bestowing, loving, connecting, caring just as you used to do for yourself as you used to care for yourself in your will to receive. Now you reach a desire to bestow in your boundary in your desire to bestow that you welcome everyone into your desire as your own.
S. That’s how I feel about their friends?
R. Yes, of course. This means that you are coming back to the system of Adam HaRishon.
S. In the meetings between us, in the connection between us, we sometimes reach such a state.. What does it mean that we reach permanent faith? I thought that sins are that we are satisfied with partial faith?
R. Yes, the more we cannot feel each other as one man is one heart than we suffer. Then the final correction is exactly feeling everyone as one, with no differences between anyone. Just like the system of Adam HaRishon.
S. There are no individual friends in this connection, it’s like a general mass of connections?
R. I don’t know how to tell you , I too don’t feel it to the level that I can communicate like that and even communicating like that is not possible but we will reach that and communicate that and will reveal it, it will certainly happen.
43. S. (01:33:42) It says that to make a calculation, should I take everything into account also the descendants or only towards what is written?
R. The calculation needs to be for the benefit of all, for the sake of all. I want to feel everyone residing in my heart, meaning in my will to receive, and within that I want to feel them all including my heart, like organs of the heart that I can’t do without anyone. I have to have everyone connected, everyone I’m working properly and then I will see you in my heart the whole of reality. The infinite upper reality of all of the world’s all of it, will be revealed in my desire and the friends, the Ten is standing there in the innermost position. That is where the Creator is revealed. That is what I yearn to reveal.
44. S. (01:35:22 ) We ask for forgiveness above the states that were given to us in order to ask for help that I prayed for or did not?
R. Right, yes, you are asking for forgiveness for the opportunity the Creator is giving us to correct and we have not. Therefore, now we ask for forgiveness and if we ask correctly and correctly means from the heart literally then that is as if we correct the situation.
45. S. (01:36:22 ) The main part of the sin is that he’s not trying to get permanent faith and if it’s partial faith he’s satisfied with it that’s the problem. We also learn that we should be satisfied with every moment, and that we should say thank you for even my 70 years were enough for that?
R. This means that I haveI acquired complete faith if not complete faith means in the sense that the light of Hassadim fails to meet all of my desires. That’s what I have to achieve. After that, after my 70 years. I come to 3 other degrees Bina,Hochma, ,and Keter and that is already the attainment of GAR, so from the 70 years of my life I have achieved complete faith. Meaning it refers to the light of Hassadim in the illumination of Hochma..
S. The work on gratitude and to be satisfied with the bit, doesn’t collide with a partial faith?
R. No, it doesn’t collide at all. No partial faith is a part of it. We come to, that is what is called faith, yes, complete faith is that we also achieved the light of Hochma inside the light of Hassadim.
S. What symbolizes the permanent faith?
R. No ifI we’re in complete faith there is no in’s and outs.
S. How not?
R. There are no more innovations. Innovations can only come from the will to receive in order to bestow which is beyond that.
S. I don’t understand how the person develops then?
R. When a greater will to receive appears in him.
S. There is a disconnection?
R. No, it’s not disconnected, it’s an addition. That’s after he achieves the degree of complete righteousness. We will talk about it more.
46. S. (01:39:06) The will to receive gets more development and we need to come to the group anul, incorporatie and work above reason and here there’s a certain feeling that awakens from the connection between us and afterwards you feel like poof, like a falling, like something disappears, how to keep that permanent? How to add more exertion so it won’t disappear so it will be added into giving contentment?
R. You have no option not to fall if you are not connected to the ten. The whole progress until the final correction is only in tens and beyond the Tens as we learn with regards to the connection of all the people of Israel and the connection between them, tens and then thousands and so forth.
S. I’m trying to understand how our mutual work can truly be passed giving contentment of the Creator without blemishing His glory?
R. What’s the problem?
S. The problem is we’re doing some action.
R. Our connection.
S. Our connection. I personally don’t know how to pass it onward?
R. Only by connection. The intensity of connection, the essence of connection the more you raise it higher and higher, where everyone is included, in such a connection as being as one man in one heart. Until we come to a state that is truly one heart, which means that you are truly included in the system of Adam HaRishon.
S. In theory, understand it but after a meeting each one supposedly goes home.
R. No, no, even if you’re physically going home with your legs, you don’t disconnect from them,
S. How? How do you keep that adhesion?
R. This is your work, what can you do? Rabash writes about this in several places but there is not that much to write about it. You have to always be in your heart and soul always connected to the Tem, no matter what you do.
S. I hear you saying it all the time in the prayer awakens but it’s like a moment that once I want to decide that’s it you’re disconnected and you can’t hold it.
R. The question is clear. This is a result of the friends not holding you, you’re not holding each other. Imagine that you were all in a circle holding hands and someone wants to break away so everyone keeps him there and doesn’t let him move him even a step away, even as he turns and wants to walk away, no, everyone holds everyone else because that’s what the whole connection depends on. The wholeness of the soul is one collective soul for all if one leaves that’s it. Tthere is no wholeness, there is no soul.
47. S. (01:43:11) As we perfect our connections does it mean we connect to all the friends in the Ten exactly the same way so there is no more difference and feel them all the same way as if they are myself?
R. No, we can relate to each and everyone in the same way. Each has their own will to receive their own characteristics and even their own mood on that day. We make sure that we are all connected and that we all complete each other, complement each other so that our connection will be the maximum optimal connection that holds us together, that our boat will be whole and it won’t suddenly find some crack in the wall of the boat and it will start sinking.
S. Is the prayer what makes the compliment for the friends? Is that what makes them whole?
R. Yes, a prayer guards us and all of us when we are in that single state and demand it and we are for the whole day even, it doesn’t matter where we are ,in what way, whether we’re shopping it doesn’t matter where we are, we are demanding, asking not forgetting, about the wholeness of our connection. This is very important.
48. S. (01:45:26) A question about lack of faith. Sometimes a person feels that he’s connected to the Creator and the connection with the Ten comes afterwards. How to start with the first stage that lack of faith means lack of connection in the Ten?
R. You have to talk about it. You have to find the relevant articles. They are all translated to Russian and thus you will renew them. Read more articles in addition to our reading every day. Ask the managers of the languages if they can recommend to you. To everyone, what other articles about faith and connection, Connection is really the same Ten, the same Kli, the same boat that we have to establish and maintain and guard it because in it we receive the revelation of the Creator. I think that even in the archives there are such articles that are categorized according to what is about connection, about faith, or other topics. I think it’s also arranged by topic so look at it and it’s worth while reading it.
S. The lack of faith is the lack of connection in the Ten?
R. Right.
49. S. (01:47:40 ) This discernment to ask for forgiveness from the Creator, can you explain it a bit more? Also if I got an answer or maybe to stay with the feeling that I did not get the forgiveness?
R. We should ask for forgiveness from the Creator because he created the will to receive in us, shattered us, lowered us all the way to the bottom but afterwards began to help us rise so that we will become incorporated with the lowest degree, the lowest possible state in reality and rise all the way to the highest possible state in reality so that we will be comprised of all the states and all the qualities and all the intentions that can ever be in creation. Only in such a way will we become similar to Him, to the Creator, as created beings. When He gives us opportunities we disregard them. We don’t respect them, we don’t feel them, we don’t notice them or we are lazy towards them. That is what we are asking forgiveness for. That forgiveness essentially is correcting our laziness. The fact that we don’t pay attention, we are stubborn like little kids that don’t want to listen to their parents and so forth. We should ask to depict these states that if we heard where we would already be?
Doing what it’s called repentance, which is coming back to what we had, and imagine to ourselves that even if we would already be on a different level, different states and now we are still perhaps in even worse state than what we think we had before, because now we are taking into the account those opportunities that the creator has given us and we have not realized. That is the problem. From now on we want to repent, as it is called. To ask for forgiveness and in the next opportunities we will know how to use them in the correct complete advanced way.
S. I wanted to ask about that. Let’s say we’re asking for forgiveness for these opportunities that we didn’t do. On the contrary too, let’s say we correct for the revelation of the Creator for the connection. Those states that we didn’t implement, that we didn’t take advantage of,where did they disappear to ? Whether we corrected it or not or could we keep doing it or?
R. Don’t worry, don’t worry about that. You just need to check what you have missed in the past. Now you don’t want to miss it and you are willing to take on these opportunities and use them correctly.
S. That goes into the correction already?
R. Yes. That too enters the correction.
50. S. (01:51:54) Sometimes you say that we are in the Creator, what do you mean that we are in the Creator?
R. Because it is written that the Creator contains everything and that the Earth is full of his glory and other such statements which means that besides the Creator there’s nothing. There’s none else beside Him. Where we are as created beings is inside the Creator, He created some sort of a place, The Creator it’s also referred to as the place and we are in it. Now the question is, how much can we discover this place, connect to it, accept it and make ourselves in such a way that this place will take us in.
S. That place is that I gave her a room for a friend?
R. Well that too is included there, there are many actions that are included there and of course that includes our whole universe and all the spiritual worlds, everything including that place.
S. Thank you.
51. S. (01:53:25) No Translation
R. That’s something like that yeah I kind of..
52. S. (01:54:00 ) What is a faith that isn’t whole and how do we come closer to complete faith?
R. First of all I see only three groups of women all the rest are not present?
S. No, they are updating in the system now. They’re up here now.
R. Question again?
S. What is faith that is in complete and how do we come closer to a complete faith?
R. Complete faith is that the light Hassadim fills the vessels. This is called a state of incomplete righteousness that has achieved complete faith and later he also comes to receive Hochma and then he is called complete righteous.
53. S. (01:55:27) What to do if it’s hard to forgive a friend after the revelation of the complete Ten, what should we ask for from the Creator?
R. As the Creator to give you strength, to forgive and accept her in the most open way. There’s no other choice. If you want to achieve corrections then there are no conditions that you can make for the Creator for relations what you want or that your pride is higher than that state.
54. S. (01:56:16) How could it be that I find an exact explanation of my inner states in the Kabbalists writings?
R. You have to read more and more, open your heart, neutralize it from all kinds of previous feelings and views and follow what Kabbalists write.
55. S. (01:56:31) What does it mean that in Gmar Tikkun, Malchut becomes mercy.
R. That she is receiving in order to betow which means that all her actions are in order to bestow.
54. S. (01:56:55) What are the 10 days of repentance in the work of the Ten?
R. The 10 days of penitential, the 10 days of repentance are those days which are felt in us as the 10 Sefiriot. They rise from Malchut to Keter in the corrections in each and everyone of our quialites.
55. S. (01:57:30) I heard you say that we’re not asking for forgiveness that the Creator put the evil inclination in us but we are asking for forgiveness for the opportunities to aim to bestow that we didn’t implement. I don’t understand the difference because also the opportunities that we implement is from the same evil inclination the Creator created in us?
R. We cannot ask for forgiveness for having the evil inclination because the Creator is doing that but not using it the evil inclination in the correct way. In order to use it specifically to achieve the final correction and resemble the Creator and achieve adhesion with the Creator, that’s what we are not using and that’s what we should ask forgiveness for.
56. S. (01:58:32) Where is the force of good and where can we already feel it in order to recognize the evil inclination upon it?
R. Again
S. Where is the force of the good in order to recognize the evil inclination?
R. A good force is the force of the creator that shines who knows from afar and the bad force is right within our hearts. The more we want to attract the Creator to shine into our heart then we will receive the correction. However, when does the Creator shine to her heart? When we try to include into our hearts all of the friends so that I don’t have my heart but rather a heart that is built from all the other hearts from the ten hearts and then the Creator does shine there is no the choice here, this is the law of creation, that there are 10 parts that wish to be corrected and we begin to feel how he changes the desires and connections between us to the point that we begin to feel him.
57. S. (02:00:11) Why does the Creator create this illusion that we are righteous? So that we discover the evil in ourselves?
R. This is in order for you to scrutinize how far you are from being righteous. There is more to check and learn. God forbid I am not saying that you are in the area of villains but not righteous. We all have to feel ourselves in the light of the Creator and not whatever seems to us in our own minds but through the light of the Creator when we reveal ourselves then by that we will feel ourselves as broken and ignoble, lying and so on and so forth and that when we will begin to correct ourselves. How? Raising ourselves towards the Creator that through this light it will be corrected even though our will to receive doesn’t let us connect but we want to connect even though our desires not letting us, so from our efforts, against the desire, against the resistances, in our effort we draw the light that reforms and it corrects us.
58. S. (02:02:31) How can we understand the provedences when we don’t feel it during the disturbances? Do we connect above the disturbances with faith above reason?
R. Yes, we should try to connect against all the disturbances by faith above reason.
59. S. (02:02:59) How to do correct calculations of the soul without the ego disturbing. It seems like the ego is always concealing the truth and not allowing a person to see.
R. This is the problem, that we need to try and connect between us despite the ego above the ego because we are in danger of annihilation by the way, both corporal and spiritual. Spiritual for sure, which depends only on us and corporeal not certain, but that’s not up to us. So, let’s try to connect between us more and more and be as one man in one heart, even though each and everyone has a different calculation towards everyone but only by nullifying all those calculations and bringing our hearts closer, we will be able to escape all the bad and even come to good, to connection with the Creator we will hide in the Creator there’s no more than that.
60. S. (02:05:01) On one hand it says that the prayer of the big and small are equal, but then it writes that whoever feels the smallness more he can pray more truly from the bottom of the heart. What does it mean that the small and the big are equal?
R. Towards the Creator we are all equal, there’s no one who is more or less.
We can be closer or farther from the Creator, there are no degrees or titles for each and every one because all these degrees, the Creator shapes them, so he knows how worthless they are in his eyes. It is all with respect to people, with respect to the Creator, it is written “as we go into the world naked, we leave the world naked and there’s nothing that we can take with us from this world to the other world” and whatever titles we have, it will all stay here, therefore, we don’t have anything to be proud of besides one thing: “how much did we really connect to the ten, the connection in the ten and it stays throughout all the worlds, it belongs to spirituality and it keeps accompanying us.
61. S. (02:06:54) What is this unity, that thanks to it, all the sins are forgiven?
R. Conceding man’s ego and that ego is referred to as the only great sin or inequity. So, giving that up or relinquishing it in order to connect to the others means that a person cancels all his iniquities and in connecting to others he achieves the true vessel.
62. S. (02:07:40) Why do I feel like a traitor when there’s a problem in the ten and I only pray and annul and the problem gets worse, what is the Creator expecting from me?
R. The Creator expects that in your prayer to Him you, you’ll ask to cancel the disturbances in the tens so they all disappear, and if you feel them, reveal them, it’s a sign that it’s up to you.
63. S. (02:08:18) It turns out that the work of the Kabbalists is in every moment so where is the pleasure, the joy?
R. The pleasure is in working together with the Creator in partnership and that’s the main thing in your life, and as it says the righteous have no rest in this world or in the next world, that gives you pleasure and then there’s more ascents and more ascents that we don’t even know and we don’t read about and there’s more to do, and all of us participate in that and continue to that.
64. S. (02:09:34) The forgiveness is first personal between a person and the Creator or should we instantly scrutinize it together in the ten?
S. The forgiveness is first of all between man and his friend, and if the friends don’t forgive you then the Creator doesn’t forgive you. And the day of atonement where you’re asking for forgiveness each time is not going to help you, you have to ask from all the friends for all over the world, from the whole world, from everything that comes to you, from all the incidents that you had. That you have perhaps caused something wrong to them, who knows if you feel it or not, in short, asking for forgiveness from everyone, and then as a result of that, from the Creator. From everyone, from whatever harm you have caused them and the Creator for giving you opportunities to rise above the evil and you haven’t realized them.
65. S. (02:11:02) How do I recognize opportunities that the Creator is sending to correct in order to not miss on them?
R. By examining your ego and if you find that you still have some ego, that means that you have not requested forgiveness from everyone and do not positions yourself in different ways here, that you don’t need to ask anyone, or this or that, whether it’s worthwhile or not, you must, you must, as it’s written that “I feel that my soul will be as dust for the life of all”. To be as dust that others step on, walk on, that’s how we should feel ourselves towards everyone else and as a result of that, we will be that way towards the Creator.
66. S. (02:12:11) When the Creator awakens us to advance through recognition of evil, how do we turn the evil into good in order to feel that everything that comes from the Creator is good?
R. I do not make actions in order to feel all kinds of actions of the Creator as good, I want to use them only to identify that I’m correcting myself according to Him.
67. S. (02:12:54) How can we ask for forgiveness and take a decision if we feel that in the next moment I won’t miss out on the opportunities again?
R. You have to try, you have to make the effort in short, all the questions are good, correct but simply make the effort.
68. S. (02:13:27) You mentioned spiritual destruction, what does that mean?
R. That’s the worst possible thing, that the Creator deletes you from all of the records of the souls and you’re no longer included in the correction, you cannot correct your soul. But that’s not about us, in the meantime but we should understand that these things also exist.
69. S. (02:14:05) What does it mean to ask for forgiveness from a friend?
R. From our friends we should all ask for forgiveness and think about what we have caused them, perhaps I do not have so many people from Bnei Baruch that I know closely but it’s still, in my laziness, and my lack of participation, I too, being part of the general system of Bnei Baruch, I have caused them some delay, some deflection, some cessation in the work. Therefore, we should ask for forgiveness, everyone from everyone, and really try to be connected in our general system in a way that we’ll feel that all of us are as one man in one heart, to come closer to that style.
70. S. (02:15:53) You talk about dangerous spiritual annihilation and corporal annihilation. Can you expand on the corporal annihilation part?
R. I don’t see it like we’re there in the war of Russia and Ukraine, that from here some world annihilation will come, no. Also the Creator won’t let it happen. We’re advancing, we’re a big strong force of good. We don’t see it in an intense way as something spiritual but for sure that it won’t happen. I don’t think it will happen at all even though a lot of people that are connected to wars and armies they feel that it could happen, still in a limited way some atom bombs will go off, I don’t know. I think it’s so dangerous that those who are doing it, they are even more afraid of the others.
That’s why I don’t think so, but we still need to understand and also Baal HaSulam writes about this, that there could be a third and fourth world war and they could be nuclear, I don’t know. I don’t think it will be. But we need to connect between us and to stabilize such a strong force in connection that we’ll start feeling this force of connection between us is greater and more in control and more important the the forces of all the small, egoistic calculations with atom bombs and so on. It’s the small forces of the ego, that’s why we need in our forces to be connected with the Creator in our connection, in our intention, in our purpose to reach a connection, and to ask for peace and wholeness on all of reality. That we by this we’ll reach a state where all of the good force will always obviously win and subdue the evil force, that’s it. We’ll think about it, we have time.
71. S. (02:20:01) When I ask for forgiveness for the opportunities I’ve missed and I want to repent, I already hear the voice inside me that says I am not going to make the next opportunity happen, I’m going to fail. How do I relate to that?
R. I didn’t understand.
S. When I’m going to ask for forgiveness for the opportunities I’ve missed I already feel that I’m going to fail the next one.
R. It doesn’t matter. I don’t think about what’s going to happen next, I’m asking about what I can do now, what I can feel now, what I missed out on, that we were guilty, we betrayed. And so on the path, on that we ask for forgiveness.
S. But I already feel like a hypocrite towards the next state.
R. Well, that’s what you think. You should ask for forces for the next state that it won’t happen to you. You’re right, the next state you’ll already discover that you don’t have forces for it, so ask. Meaning you have to ask for forgiveness for what you did the transgressions and what you will do in the future. You’re asking for help, that you can rise above it and not do those transgressions, that you will turn them into Mitzvot, commandments.
S. Why do I need to deal with what I’ve done, why not only deal with the next moment?
R. You won’t know how to see the next state if you didn’t repent on the past. You need to ask for the past that you feel sorry for it, that you can, that you wanted to do but you couldn’t, you forgot and you didn’t understand and so on and so forth. You need to go over all those states and then you are ready to ask for it not to happen the next time. Because you’ve already repeated all those difficulties and confusions you had before.
S. This gives me protection?
R. Gives you an understanding of how to ask correctly.
72. S. (02:22:30) This is a short update about Yom Kippur that’s taking place this week, about the study materials. Yom Kippur is on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Tuesday the lesson will be as usual both the morning lesson and the noon lesson. On Wednesday there won’t be any broadcasts and as the study material team we will send everyone a kit of materials, translated into languages which will include both recorded lessons, articles and workshops. And it’s a recommendation of the study materials team. Of course each ten if it’s interested can study other materials, they can do whatever works for them and whatever’s right for them.
R. Can you connect between you in bigger tens? Please, our web is there automatically, it remains open, everything is open for your service; only our live broadcasts meaning, I won’t be here. That’s it.
S. So to add one thing, of course each ten is invited to determine for themselves whatever schedule that works for that day. They can either work with the regular schedule that we have from 3 to 5:30 AM Israel time and 12 to 1, noon lesson, Israel time. So you can do the regular schedule or if any ten wants to use a different schedule that day they can do it. They can also add additional activities, so just discuss it in the ten and determine how you are going to go through that day. Again we are talking about this coming Wednesday, it’s a single day and on Thursday we are going back to the ordinary schedule and format.
R. I still recommend for the head of languages or the teams to connect all the writings and excerpts of Baal HaSulam and Rabash that are good to read on that day.
S. Yes, that’s exactly what I said earlier that we will send a kit that will include both source materials on Yom Kippur and articles that are relevant. There will be a variety of options to fill your day with content that will help us further connect in the ten and keep going forward.
R. Okay, so with this we will end.
73. S. (01:25:47) We talked about asking for forgiveness. Is there any way to ask for forgiveness from the teacher or the Kabbalists, that we let him down or didn’t advance fast enough?
R. There is no such prayer but if you want ask between you, speak about it. Let’s end the lesson here.
