Living in a world of intentions – Selected Excerpts from the Sources. #4
1. Rav’s Introduction (00:28):Yes, we are continuing with the same excerpts on “living in the world of Intentions” which is the most important thing for us. Everything is measured according to the size of the intention and the person receives everything according to the measure of his intention, this is how he connects to the Creator, reaches adhesion with the creator, so it is all according to the person’s intention. So let’s see how to arrange the intentions.
Reading 4 (01:01): “If a person’s intention is only to bring contentment…” twice
2. S. (03:44) Why does he write that specifically yearning causes equivalence of form?
R. Yearning to bestow to the Creator. Not to receive anything but to bestow. Yearning to bestow causes equivalence of form with the Creator because the Creator is entirely to bestow.
S. Is it not enough to just have a desire to bestow, you have to have a yearning to bestow to reach equivalence of form?
R. Yearning is mainly an addition to the desire. When I don’t quite have a desire and I want to increase it, I want to have it, this is called yearning.
S. And this specifically causes equivalence of form, without it you can’t have equivalence of form if I have a desire from the environment lets say?
R. No. We have the desire and the yearning. The yearning testifies to the vector, to where you are drawn to, and the desire itself is something general.
3. S. (05:00) He writes that if he overcomes in the quality of bestowal then, as he explains, he draws more lights, that somehow it has to do with the vessels? Working in bestowal grows stronger in the vessels?
R. Let me read it again:If the person’s intention is only to bring contentment to the Creator and not for his own benefit, meaning, he is aimed only towards that, to the Creator, to give pleasure to Him, then he does not mind the amount of pleasure itself. It does not matter what pleasure he is receiving but rather how much he can bestow. He only looks at the amount of yearning with which he wants to delight the Creator; meaning, how does he measure his state?
How much he want to delight the Creator since through the yearning to delight the Creator he causes equivalence of form at the root of his soul, in the Creator and then the Creator feels how much the Creators intention towards the person and the person’s intention towards the Creator is equalized to a certain extent since by yearning to delight the Creator he’s causing equivalence of form at the root of his soul and this gives him contact with the Creator, he has connection with Him.
This in turn causes more abundance to be drawn because the upper one wants to give more than the lower one wants to receive and only vessels of bestowal are missing in the lower one. It follows that by intensifying his bestowal, great abundance extended to him. Great abundance is extended from The Creator to him because he’s opening up his efficiency. For this reason we do not need to ask to have great lights but only to try to have great vessels, which are vessels of bestowal and then certainly the great lights will be revealed in them.
4. S. (07:50) It turns out that the yearning, with this strong yearning we can reach a state where anything that comes to our sensation, our feelings, we will pass to the Creator?
R. I don’t understand exactly what you mean. I need to invert my desire to be in order to bestow. That is, to build above my desire to receive an intention in order to bestow, that intention I have to direct it to the Creator that I want to do everything only for Him. That I am sitting next to the table of the host and I am only thinking about how I can delight Him? By which actions can I delight Him? By which quantities can I receive from Him? It is only measured according to how I, myself, can delight Him. This is my calculation.
5. S. (09:12) In the excerpt we just read. What is the difference between the words yearning, passion and vessels? What is the difference between these words?
R. The most important is the yearning. That is how much I, above my ordinary desire, yearn and want to come closer to the Creator. I want to give Him, I want to fill his passion, his yearning to give to the Created beings, this is how I measure my vessels. I turn to the Creator and I search for how I can delight Him? In which form, to which, measure in which manner, in which style, can I delight Him?
6. S. (10:34) We notice often that what is not for me,I see it and I can work against it but to delight the Creator, something so imaginary, it is an illusion, so I don’t even know what to lean on. I think maybe I am making a mistake, I’m imagining something. What is this work to build a vessel to delight the Creator?
R. Do you have children?
S. Yes.
R. Grown ups, I realize that they are already grown-ups, that is not an issue. Imagine to yourself that they are small and you want to give them something, you want to delight them somehow so they can enjoy from you. You can imagine that right? So this is what we are talking about, that you look at someone and you are searching for how I can delight him? How can I give him contentment and pleasure? How can I make it so that he would be happy from me? This is what it is about.
We, by that, open up the tap, the line between us and the Creator and then He can give to us because then the pleasure that we will get will be in order to bestow because we will receive this pleasure only in order for the Creator to enjoy. This is why to the extent that I can think about the Creator, that he would enjoy, by that I give Him the possibility to give me and then we are in equivalence of form. This is called I am for my beloved and my beloved is for me. I and the Creator give pleasure to each other and the reception of the pleasure and the giving of the pleasure have the same weight, the same importance because it is all in order to bestow.
S. According to the example of the children. I understood from the example that I want to delight the children, it is more important.
R. It is not about if it is more important to give the children or not. This is about the fact that you have to develop a desire to delight the Creator. This is what you have to do and then you will have no problem. To the extent that you will want to give it to Him you will be able to receive from Him and then you will be in equivalence of form because your reception that you received from Him will be as bestowal.
7. S. (14:12) It says that the yearning to bestow to the Creator causes equivalence of form in the root of the soul. How to understand this?
R. Just like the Creator is entirely to bestow, that’s his nature, He is the force of bestowal, so the created being, the person is now working in the same style in order to bestow to the Creator. That is it and this is what we have to reach. This is called that measure of your love to the Creator and to that measure you feel His love to you and these two forms of love: His to you and your to Him, they connect together and coupling is made, a connection with the Creator. Such a coupling, such a connection with the Creator, which is a complete great connection, this is what we have to reach this is called the end of correction.
8. S. (15:28) I want to bestow to the Creator and I check my desire towards the friend?
R. Yes, you can do the same thing to the friends and then by this you are performing the right exercises, practicing in order to later on connect in the same way with the Creator. With the friend you have no problem, you are with him face-to-face. The two of you want to reach the revelation of the Creator, adhesion to the Creator, to love the Creator and this is why you have to do such exercises with each other.
S. It is not the goal but the means?
R. Yes, it is a means. A means to reach the same relations with the Creator.
9. S. (16:40) How can I yearn to delight the Creator when on the path with the friends I have all kinds of internal resistance that does not allow me to yearn for the Creator, that pushes me away from Him?
R. Of course. How to overcome this, this is a big problem. This is our whole life, until the end of correction we will feel resistance to it in a way that is more revealed or less revealed but this is our whole life. The entire struggle is against this obstruction, that we do not want to think about the Creator, we do not want to yearn towards Him, to give to Him and so on. This is going to be until the end of correction.
10. S. (17:49) The Creator is everything but He lacks my intention to bestow, is this what we should think?
R. In order for Him to be able to give the Creator needs desires that can receive from Him all of His benefit, all of His revelation because what are we going towards? We are going towards the revelation of the Creator so we have to reach a state where we have the force of bestowal as the Creator has it so this is what we are working on.
11. S. (18:46) The question is: what to do when we come to a realization that I do not even have the yearning for bestowal to the Creator, to give Him contentment, that I am totally opposite to that?
R. Of course, of course, of course it is the other way around. All of your desires, all of your intentions, it is all only in order to receive and to give and even more so to give to the Creator that you do not feel Him? And you deliberately are not feeling Him, this is how it was done on purpose. Why was the concealment done? Because if we could see who we are bestowing to we would have no problem to bestow. He is great, you depend on Him, He is everything, He determines each and everything so of course you would be running towards Him with your will to receive, your egoistic will to receive and you would be serving Him and doing everything no problem; however, because the Creator is concealed so you do not run towards Him.
You do not feel that He is great and He’s managing everything and you are depending on Him for everything then you and Him are truly far away from each other. To the extent you want to come to Him, to serve Him, to give Him contentment to Him, not to yourself, to that extent you will feel how you are coming closer to Him. So try because otherwise it’s not going to work. To discover the Creator is possible only to the extent that you will bestow to Him as He wishes to bestow to you and to bestow means to His benefit. So that everything that you do, you will have in that the intention for His benefit, for His good.
12. S. (21:01) I want to clarify for myself and for the friends: how to work with that desire on the condition that it all depends on the kind of yearning I have? Let’s say I am at work and I am giving service to a customer so if I am saying that I am dedicating this service to give contentment to the Creator does it change that desire?
R. Yes, this is how you get accustomed to working for the Creator in all kinds of forms that you have in your life so that eventually we have to reach a state where 24hrs a day, all the time, we are only thinking about how to give contentment to the Creator. Why? because this is how He related to us in order to provide us with life and within life to also provide us with pleasure and that we would want to receive it.
13. S. (22:12) It says in the article that we have to ask for great lights. We only have to have great vessels of bestowal so what does it mean to ask for great lights in this context?
R. Please repeat.
S. It says that we need to ask to have a great light only to try to have a great vessels which are vessels of bestowal so what does it mean that we have to ask to have a great lights, to ask this, for the lights in the context of having big vessels, do I ask for the lights?
R. The most important thing is that we have to think about the vessels. The vessels of bestowal, that I will have great vessels and by that I will be able to receive lights in order to bestow and by that I would give pleasure to the Creator and I would feel in this exchange of pleasure I to Him and Him to me, that I exist just as I am, opposite the host.
S. There was no translation.
R. Okay, I will repeat it. We need to bestow to the Creator in order to receive pleasure from Him because by that we give Him pleasure, we enjoy from Him and to that extent we are in adhesion with each other.
14. S. (25:00) About the lights and the vessels. How can we make the distinction internally because they are mixed up inside of me, the revelation of the light and the feeling of the light, the sensation of the light and the vessel and I should focus on the vessel and less on the light. Can you open it up?
R. We need to be concerned about the deficiency, that we will have a deficiency to give to the friends and later on to the Creator as it is written from the love of people to the love of the Creator, this is what we should be working on. To the extent that these deficiencies become established in us then we would be also able to advance towards their implementation that I would want to bestow to the Creator in actuality; meaning, in actuality to receive pleasure from Him because by that I give Him pleasure and contentment and then my reception from Him will be as bestowal because I do not have any possibility to give. I can only give Him my attitude, my relation which is called faith above reason, bestowal, an attitude but my desire remains the will to receive. So I activate my will to receive to the extent that I am able to activate my relation to the Creator meaning that according to my the extent of love to the Creator this is how I open up my will to receive.
15. S. (27:00) The will to receive and the will to bestow contentment to the Creator, is it the same thing?
R. If it is the same thing if you are already corrected, to that extent, yes.
16. S. (27:24) I wanted to ask about what he writes at the end of the excerpt that he can ask only on the vessels. Our intention, is this the vessel?
R. Not our intention but our goal is to develop vessels, vessels of bestowal, deficiencies to bestow and with the deficiency to bestow to the Creator He will be able to give himself His light.
S. But the vessels, do they determine what happens with the desire?
R. Yes.
S. Because in the desire seemingly we have no ability to do anything according to what he writes.
R. No but I, in my work, I want that my will to receive will work under the intention in order to bestow. Let’s say I am hungry and I have some room to receive right? However I cannot receive because I let’s say I am feeling shame, I am embarrassed, I have no intention to bestow but through the intention to bestow I open up my desire, my belly and by this I can receive; however, my pleasure will be only out of the fact that I am filling the host, I am giving pleasure to the host. Meaning I have pleasure out of my eating and this pleasure is not felt in me as pleasure from eating but out of the fact that from this I am giving pleasure to the host.
S. Again, I am trying to understand. The vessels of bestowal, to ask for vessels of bestowal is this the intention? Is this the intention you add to that desire?
R. There are no vessels of bestowal. It is just how we speak. There are vessels, a desire, a deficiency, vessels of reception however when we work with them in a style where by me working with my deficiency, to eat, however only in order to give contentment to the host then it is considered that I am creating vessels of bestowal.
S. So how does this transition happen in the person from trying to change the desire to trying to work on changing the intention?
R. Because you are thinking about it all the time: How do I establish in me the intention to bestow? By what do I implement this intention to bestow? And then I have two things here: working on the intention and working on the implementation. Working with the intention is in that I build the intention to bestow to the Creator and the execution, the implementation, is in that I check myself already. How much can I open up my vessels, my belly let’s say, in order to start filling it with some filling, with some tasty, pleasant things; however, I constantly remain in the intention that I am actually bestowing to the host.
S. What determines your ability to want to be the bestower to the host?
R. The magnitude of the host in my eyes. The magnitude of the host in my eyes. What does it depend on? The environment that speaks about it, the society, the books I read and what I think about.
17. S. (31:30) Is there a relationship between intent and faith? Both of them are similar forces. Is there a difference or are they similar?
R. The intention is intention and faith is faith. Faith is already a spiritual force, it is the force of Bina and the intention is when it is not there yet in actuality.
18. S. (32:42) I cannot grasp this picture: I have a personal relationship with the Creator, He enjoys our connection.
R. You have to establish such relations: I am to my beloved and my beloved to me. You have to begin to establish them, yes. What can you give to the Creator and in what do you think that the Creator is giving to you? We must reach adhesion and adhesion is expressed through mutual bestowal between us and the Creator.
S. He’s the only one I can turn to? That is clear, I have to turn to Him, that He enjoys our connection? I can imagine it but that I have a personal relationship with this force, that He has vessels and He enjoys my actions, my thoughts, my personal thoughts, that is not clear.
R. You should read what the Kabbalists have written. You have already read it more than once just believe that what they have written, they attained it and this is why they wrote it. The Creator wants to enjoy from us, from the fact that we will relate to Him in such a way. He wants that and there are no questions about it. He wants us to reach Him, to reach adhesion, reach connection so that we would feel Him, that He is truly fulfilling us completely.
S. I am like jumping above the ten, there is me and the Creator?
R. No, you are expressing it only inside of the ten. Only inside the ten.
Reading 5 (34:38): “A person has nothing to give to the Creator…” Twice
19. R. (35:54) This means that what can we do to the Creator only to ask for a deficiency to give bestow to him, and the everything else, the Creator does do not lack anything else only that deficiency to give bestow to him and this is the only thing we have to ask for, this is what we have to yearn for and to constantly feel, do I have it or not. Just look at a woman who has a baby, how much she is constantly thinking about the baby, constantly wanting to give to him, to do something to him, right, so it is amazing how much nature is playing with a person, so she sits next to the baby and that the baby is lying there in his cradle, and he is sleeping.
She is doing something a little bit here and there, covering the baby, opens up the blanket a little bit, the baby does not even respond, but she just simply wants to express something to the baby, so she is constantly doing something, she has an inclination that maybe by this or maybe that, I can give the baby something additional, you can that is truly interesting, I remember that many years ago Rabash and myself were walking in the park and we saw the mothers with the babies sitting there, the baby carriage there, the mother she simply cannot sit stil,l she just has to constantly touch the baby, a bit more, a bit less, cover it up, open it up, and this is the degree of love that constantly requires and addition, and this is what we should also try to do also.
20. S. (38:15) Is gratitude to the Creator a form of bestowal?
R. Yes.
21. S. (38:29) You said that I activate my desire to enjoy when I have a certain attitude to the Creator, what is this in cooperation with a certain attitude to the Creator, when I can aim it in such a way and from that I decide if I can enjoy or not?
R. If you want to bestow to the Creator then you already have the question, by what, and how much, by what, it is by you doing for the Creator something that he wants, and the Creator wants only bestowal, and you cannot give him bestowal because if you are righteous, what would you give him since the Creator has no deficiency, so this is why you were created as one of many broken parts of a vessel, so you can cause them correction and fulfillment and the Creator will enjoy from that, this is why he broke the vessels and he prepared for us a world of full of possibilities to bestow to each other, so we would have a way to bestow to the Creator even though we are not capable of bestowing back to the Creator directly, but only through us bestowing to the vessels, to other people.
S. My question is, where here does the adhesion to the Creator begin, so that out of that we can make the calculations?
R. Because you try to put together such relations with the friends, that the Creator will enjoy from that, so that the Creator would enjoy from the relations between you, this is very simple.
22. S. (40:40) This expression that if you are righteous what would you give him, how to understand this, we know that the righteous is one who can justify the Creator, so if I have no complaints against the Creator is it considered bestowing to Him?
R. Indeed you have nothing to give to the Creator except bestowal to other people and you cause them corrections and with this you’re actually correcting yourself, until you bring yourself to the complete structure of Adam HaRishon, and the by that, through this entire system you are bestowing to the Creator. You discover all of the lights of the whole vessel, NRNHY.
23. S. (41:41) What does it mean that if you are righteous what would you give him, what does it mean if you are righteous?
R. That you have nothing to give to the Creator, He does not need anything because he is whole and complete, but rather his entire deficiency, his lack, what he created is that he established the person, the will to receive, and he broke it into pieces, and then by them becoming separate pieces, the Creator’s desire, His will to receive exists between these pieces in the opposite, negative manner, and to the extent that people hate and reject each other, they are far away from each other, the preparation of the Creator, by the Creator was revealed towards the correction and our whole correction is in that we try to connect between us and to ask from Him that he would create this connection between us, that is it.
24. S. (43:05) I need to ask for great vessels but there beneath all of that we want the light. Won’t the great vessels kill our desire?
R. No no we want to receive the greatest light because by that we can bestow to the Creator. Imagine to yourself like a little child who is willing to receive everything his mom has prepared for him in order to bring her contentment, in order to give the mother contentment, so the more he receives the more he delights her.
25. S. (44:05) How can you determine that we are giving pleasure to the Creator?
R. Through the friends.
26. S. (44:23) Is intention the key to our connection?
R. Intention is the key, not only the key to connection but it is the key to everything.
27. S. (44:33) Is the aspiration towards connection, does it mean that we are delighting the Creator?
R. Of course.
28. S. (44:52) Where do we get the fuel, the motivation to only delight Him?
R. We get it slowly by investing in all kinds of our types of learning and modes of connection when we invite the reforming light from afar and that it influences us and it brings us such an attitude.
29. S. (45:23) It seems that my main connection with the Creator is only when I need something from Him. What is the correct connection with Him?
R. Of course, so why is it bad when I want something from Him? I want that in addition to what He created, the will to receive, He will now also give me forces of correction for my will to receive so it will be in order to bestow. I have the right privilege to turn to Him, that’s very nice.
30. S. (49:24) Is working on the desire to delight the Creator the goal or the means to attain the purpose of creation to delight His creatures?
R. We in the purpose of creation don’t distinguish between the Creator and created beings because we reach adhesion and in this complete adhesion there is no Creator there is no created beings, it’s all one, and the Creator is what’s revealed in the vessels of the created beings.
31. S. (50:00) What is the force of intention? What is the power of intention?
R. The power of intention? According to the power of intention we determine the degree of a person, a created being that’s all because we can’t change the desire, desire is always the desire to receive but how to use it this is called intention, on that depends our height, our size.
32, S. (50:39) Is there more than one form of equivalence with the Creator? As one of them is yearning to bestow to the Creator?
R. Yearning to bestow to the Creator is the greatest thing.
33. S. (50:52) In what actions do we add in order to reach great vessels?
R. Only in the connection between us. It can, it will reveal to us what else are we missing in bestowal to one another so from that we’ll bestow to the Creator.
34. S. (51:18) What does the strong intention for the goal depend upon a person in his thought or it is dependent on the others in the environment?
R. Depends on the environment, everything depends on the environment. We should read about it again in the articles “MatanTorah”, “The Giving of the Torah”, and “The Arvut”.
35. S. (51:44) We have no direct connection with the Creator, is it enough to just want to delight the friends?
R. We have direct connection to the Creator that such connection that cannot be any more direct connection because to the extent I connect to the friends I am in contact with them and we combine all the connections between us into one, to that extent we connect to the Creator. So our connection to the Creator is 620 times greater than what we can imagine and attain in this world as far as the strength of connections are concerned.
36. S. (52:38) Is the correct way to come to the intention to bestow to think that the friends and the ten and the Creator are the same thing and then to want to bestow to friends and the Creator simultaneously?
R. Yes, that’s one of the exercises that we’re doing but sometimes we need to work in other forms as well, maybe a little differently but in essence it is correct.
37. S. (53:07) What is the root of the soul of the person?
R. The root of the soul of a person is the will to receive and the correction of this root is the intention to bestow which is the reflected light.
38. S. (53:23) If my intention is just to bring contentment to the Creator, where is my thought on the connection in the ten?
R. Connection in the ten is the means. In order to attain the purpose of creation is the connection with the Creator.
39. S. (53:44) What is the pleasure that the Creator wants to supply us with?
R. The Creator wishes to supply us is the pleasure of unity, in unity between us and with the Creator we attain the essence of creation, the source of creation, the process of creation, until it reaches wholeness, perfection, and the result of this process which is the unification between the Creator and the created beings without any separation, we should also say that all those things are above our matter, above our substance, above our material universe, above the stars and planets and everything, it’s already on a spiritual dimension a different dimension.
40. S. (54:47) What is the difference between joy and gratitude? Can you have one without the other?
R. We cannot be grateful without joy, I cannot cry and be grateful, they have to be connected.
41. S. (55:09) So to bless the Creator is to actually bring Him contentment?
R. Yes of course.
42. S. (55:17) What is the individual work of bestowing to the Creator and what is the work in the ten in bestowing to Creator?
R. The individual work in bestowing to the creator cannot be except through nevertheless being incorporated in the friends with the friends and in this way I bestow to the Creator, alone it cannot be, there cannot be one Sefira that’s adhered to the light has to be connected with the other Sefirot to organize itself with all the rest of the Sefirot with their mutual desires and then to begin to receive in order to bestow inside these desires.
43. S. (56:05) What do we need to see or feel from the friends in order to know whether we are truly bestowing to the Creator?
R. If we’re truly bestowing to the Creator first of all we have a certain feeling as a result of along the way bestowing to people, we make the Creator bestow to them. We ourselves we cannot connect to friends, ourselves we cannot delight them, we cannot fulfill them, we do it through the Creator, that’s why it’s called through love of the created beings to love of the Creator. I don’t love the created beings, rather I wish to reach a state where the Creator is correcting them, filling them, delighting them and in this way I connect to them and to the Creator.
44. S. (57:09) By giving to the Creator through the ten and a good result comes out of it I get a certain state of pride. How not to fall to the ego there?
R. It shall pass, it’s a necessary stage you need to work on it so it will pass as quickly as possible.
45. S. (57:31) What is the measure of the vessel measured by?
R. The size of the vessel is measured according to the coarseness and the screen over it meaning from what size of desire I wish to bestow.
46. S. (58:54) To receive it all from the Creator even if we have to give it back to Him it sounds very tempting. Why do we reject the opportunities to enjoy it together with the Creator?
R. We don’t reject it, it’s the purpose of creation to enjoy, both us and the Creator are in complete adhesion and that’s why we enjoy together, Him and us enjoy together, we are in an embrace the complete Zivug.
47. S. (58:29) But the intention is for Him to enjoy so I don’t enjoy.
R. No no I can’t delight Him unless I also feel pleasure.
S. Can a person really feel the Creator to such an extent that he can ask exactly what he wants to give?
R. Even more than that, we can feel the Creator more than what we feel ourselves. To the extent that we feel Him we truly feel ourselves and all of creation..
48. S. (59:13) I enjoy from bestowal and delight to the bestower. The question is how do we come to equivalence of form between the intention and the desire?
R. We have to try to have the intention ride precisely over the desire and the desire will not be greater than the intention, then it’s considered holy, sacred.
49. S. (59:52) About the topic of the Sefirot, I probably have some confusion. Sefirot is when it’s actually in reflected light when it’s filled with light and we do the work from below upwards?
R. You have Sefirot of direct light and Sefirot of reflected light.
50. S. (01:00:30) If I want to love the friends but the Creator doesn’t give me that love, what work do I need to do in relation with my intention?
R. You should ask, you should ask Him to give you love for the friends, because whatever we have in us is from Him the Creator. If I discover that I have no love for the friends I need to ask Him, I cannot wait to have it, where will I get it from? Only to turn to the Creator to give it to me. It’s a very important question, truly think of the answer, we need to turn to the Creator and ask and demand that I get love for the friends that He will give it to me. Try again to see it in a mother and her child, she has a child that is not hers she doesn’t love him naturally, then through all kinds of actions towards him she gets accustomed to it and a desire, a deficiency, a feeling opens up to him, we have to be exactly that towards the others in the group, develop in us a feeling for the friends, and of course each time we’ll receive rejection, repulsion, coolness and again we have to try and worry about developing the tendency towards connection and closeness.
51. S. (01:02:20) Why Creator is always breaking my heart without mercy, why should I want to bestow contentment on Him?
R. Because by that you reach equivalence of form with Him and you understand He’s entirely in bestowing contentment to you. Now you can’t see it, your life is full of suffering, you don’t see anything good in it, where are you getting it all from, they tell you from none else besides Him. Now in order to discover that you’re truly under the rule of the Creator you have to be in equivalence of form with Him, meaning that you should also have a form of bestowal like Him, then you’ll understand that He is all love and He’s all bestowing to you. There’s work against the desire.
52. S. (01:03:35 Now in your answer you said that I have to follow my intention for it to be greater than my desire, for the desire not to be greater than the intention. How can we follow that?
R. All my desires should be in order to bestow to the other, then it will work itself out, both the desire and the intention will be in line in the same direction, towards bestowal.
S. There’s simply so many different desires within a person, how can you follow exactly for the intention to be?
R. We don’t care about which desires are they we care about what kind of intention we have over the desire, if it’s the intention to bestow let him have a thousand desires there, if the intention is to receive also the important thing is the intention, the desires thing the desires themselves could be bigger or smaller all kinds, it doesn’t matter really, the important thing is the intention.
53. S. (01:04:59) Is the yearning built upon the rejections from rejecting it from bestowal and he doesn’t give up?
R. Yes, you are correct.
54. S. (01:05:16) The intention for us would be as a gift from the Creator or is it something we beget from ourselves?
R. The intention comes from above the intention to bestow comes from above. It’s truly a gift from the Creator a Divine part from above, the Creator is entirely in order to bestow and you also receive the intention to bestow except the Creator also has a desire to bestow and you remain in your desire to receive but with the intention in order to bestow. Then you have two states, a state where your desires are restricted and you only work with the intention to bestow, you have no way of receiving and enjoying bestowal and later yes you can also receive pleasure and enjoy doing it in order to bestow. That’s how our work is divided into vessels of bestowal and vessels of reception or Katnut and Gadlut, smallness and greatness, infancy and adulthood.
55. S. (01:06:43) The work with the sufferings are those same forms that we needed to take care of and we simply didn’t take care of and that’s why we feel those sufferings?
R. We have to scrutinize to make sure our suffering, our pain, will be only from our inability to bestow to the Creator.
