NETILAT YADAYIM (נטילת ידיים): PURIFYING (WASHING OF THE BODY) RITUAL BEFORE THE MAIN READINGS OF `PRAYER OF MANY´ THIS WEEK.

An Exercise in Relations   

It is only from within the correct relations to others that one arrives at love of the Creator.

Naturally, towards the Creator we have respect and for a friend we show disrespect. But bestowal towards others must be more important than to the Creator. Try to do this exercise:  Show disrespect to the Creator and love toward others. This will help you see where you are. It is only from within the correct relations to others, which is firstly, “What you hate yourself, don’t do to others” and then, “Love the other as yourself” so that you can reach, “Love the Lord your God.”
