MITZVA 481 That an individual shall bring a sin-offering if he has sinned in error by committing a transgression, the conscious violation of which is punished with excision (Lev. 4:27-28) (affirmative).
Leviticus Chapter 4 וַיִּקְרָא
כז וְאִם-נֶפֶשׁ אַחַת תֶּחֱטָא בִשְׁגָגָה, מֵעַם הָאָרֶץ: בַּעֲשֹׂתָהּ אַחַת מִמִּצְוֺת יְהוָה, אֲשֶׁר לֹא-תֵעָשֶׂינָה–וְאָשֵׁם.
27 And if any one of the common people sin through error, in doing any of the things which the LORD hath commanded not to be done, and be guilty:
כח אוֹ הוֹדַע אֵלָיו, חַטָּאתוֹ אֲשֶׁר חָטָא–וְהֵבִיא קָרְבָּנוֹ שְׂעִירַת עִזִּים, תְּמִימָה נְקֵבָה, עַל-חַטָּאתוֹ, אֲשֶׁר חָטָא.
28 if his sin, which he hath sinned, be known to him, then he shall bring for his offering a goat, a female without blemish, for his sin which he hath sinned.
