TEVILAH (טְבִילָה): PURIFYING (WASHING OF THE BODY) RITUAL AFTER THE MAIN READINGS OF `PRAYER OF MANY´ THIS WEEK.
Creation
What is creation according to the wisdom of Kabbalah?
Creation is from the word “wild,” “external (in Hebrew),” meaning outside of the Creator, the opposite of him, actually against him. We need to understand who the Creator is and what he created against Himself which is called, “external.” A person who doesn’t discover within himself the evil inclination, then from his point of view, he doesn’t feel that there is a creation. And the rest of the things, i.e., attributes, thoughts, tendencies, actions, whatever it may be, if they don’t belong to the evil inclination then they are not called creation.
Kabbalists explain to us that the evil inclination is only in man of this world but not in every man. It is in a person who develops in himself the desire to receive for the sake of receiving that is called hatred and he reaches a level that is called hatred of others just like the mountain of Sinai, the mountain of hatred, and then this desire is called creation. When I hate on the corporeal level it isn’t called the evil inclination. The desire to use others for the goal of food, sex, family, honor, or knowledge is not the evil inclination. The spiritual evil inclination that should be discovered is found between the souls. It entered there by force and caused the breakage in the connection that existed between the souls. The evil inclination is above our nature and the moment we discover the evil inclination, then we arrive at the other side which is “I created the evil inclination and I created the Torah as a spice.” To the extent that we discover inside us the force of the breakage which is called the evil inclination then we will also discover the way to correct it.
