Reinforcing Ourselves with There Is None Else Besides Him
1. Baal HaSulam. Shamati 1. There is None Else Besides Him
It is written, “There is none else besides Him.” This means that there is no other force in the world that has the ability to do anything against Him. And what one sees, that there are things in the world that deny the upper household, the reason is that this is His will.
This is deemed a correction called “the left rejects and the right pulls closer,” meaning that what the left rejects is considered a correction. This means that there are things in the world that, to begin with, aim to divert a person from the right way, and by which he is rejected from Kedusha [holiness].
The benefit from the rejections is that through them a person receives a complete need and desire for the Creator to help him since he sees that otherwise he is lost.
2. Zohar for All, Introduction to The Book of Zohar, “On the Night of the Bride”, No. 138
It is a law that the creature cannot receive disclosed evil from the Creator, for it is a flaw in the glory of the Creator for the creature to perceive Him as an evildoer, for this is unbecoming of the complete Operator. Hence, when one feels bad, denial of the Creator’s guidance lies upon him and the superior Operator is concealed from him to that same extent. This is the greatest punishment in the world.
Thus, the sensation of good and evil in relation to His guidance brings with it the sensation of reward and punishment, for one who exerts to not part from faith in the Creator is rewarded even when he tastes a bad taste in Providence. And if he does not exert, he will have a punishment because he is separated from faith in the Creator.
3. Baal HaSulam, Letter 18
One has no choice but to direct all the present and future moments to be offered and presented to His great name. One who rejects a moment before Him for it is difficult displays his folly openly, for all the worlds and all the times are not worthwhile for him because the light of His face is not clothed in the changing times and occasions although one’s work certainly changes because of them. This is why thanks to our holy fathers, faith and confidence above reason have been prepared for us, which one uses in the tougher times effortlessly and tirelessly.
4. Baal HaSulam, Letter No. 18
First thing in the morning, when he rises from his sleep, he should sanctify the first moment with Dvekut with Him, pour out his heart to the Creator to keep him throughout the twenty-four hours of the day so that no idle thought will come into his mind, and he will not consider it impossible or above nature.
Indeed, it is the image of nature that makes an iron partition, and one should cancel nature’s partitions that he feels. Rather, first he must believe that nature’s partitions do not cut off from Him. Afterward, he should pray from the bottom of his heart, even for something that is above his natural desire.
Understand this always, even when forms that are not of Kedusha [holiness] traverse you, and they will instantly stop when you remember. See that you pour out your heart that henceforth the Creator will save you from cessations of Dvekut with Him. Gradually, your heart will grow accustomed to the Creator and will yearn to adhere to Him in truth, and the Lord’s desire will succeed by you.
5. Baal HaSulam, Letter No. 18
One who assumes the complete burden of the kingdom of heaven finds no labor in the work of the Creator, and can therefore adhere to the Creator day and night, in light and in darkness. The Geshem [“rain,” but also “corporeality”]—which is created in coming and going, changes and exchanges—will not stop him since the Keter, which is Ein Sof, illuminates to all completely equally. The fool—who walks under a flood of preventions that pour on him from before and from behind—says to all that he does not feel the cessation and the lack of Dvekut [adhesion] as a corruption or iniquity on his part.
Had he sensed it, he would certainly have strained to find some tactic to at least be saved from the cessation of Dvekut, whether more or less. This tactic has never been denied of anyone who sought it, either as in “the thought of faith” or as in “confidence,” or as in “pleas of his prayer,” which are suitable for a person specifically in the narrow and pressured places, for even a thief in hiding calls on the Creator.
6. Baal HaSulam, Shamati, Article 138, “Concerning Fear that Sometimes Comes Upon a Person”
When fear comes upon a person, he should know that there is none else but Him. And even witchcraft. And if he sees that fear overcomes him, he should say that there is no such thing as chance, but the Creator has given him a chance from above, and he must contemplate and study the end to which he has been sent this fear. It appears that it is so that he will overcome and say, “There is none else besides Him.”
But if after all this, the fear has not departed him, he should take it as an example and say that his servitude of the Creator should be in the same measure of the fear, meaning that the fear of heaven, which is a merit, should be in the same manner of fear that he now has. That is, the body is impressed by this superficial fear, and exactly in the same way that the body is impressed, so should be the fear of heaven.
7. RABASH, Article No. 6 (1990), “When Should One Use Pride in the Work”
A person should pay attention to this and believe that the Creator is tending to him and guides him on the track that leads to the King’s palace. It follows that he should be happy that the Creator is watching over him and gives him the descents, as well. That is, a person should believe, as much as he can understand, that the Creator is giving him the ascents, since certainly, a person cannot say that he himself receives the ascents, but that the Creator wants to bring him closer; this is why He gives him the ascents.
Also, a person should believe that the Creator gives him the descents, as well, because He wants to bring him closer. Therefore, every single thing that he can do, he must do as though he is in a state of ascent. Therefore, when he overcomes a little during the descent, it is called an “awakening from below.” Each act that he does, he believes that it is the Creator’s will, and by this itself he is rewarded with greater nearing, meaning that the person himself begins to feel that the Creator has brought him closer.
8. RABASH, Article 19 (1990), Why Is the Torah Called “Middle Line” in the Work – 2
One must believe as was said above, that “there is none else besides Him,” meaning that it is the Creator who compels him to do the good deeds, but since he is still unworthy of knowing that it is the Creator who commits him, the Creator dresses Himself in dresses of flesh and blood, through which the Creator performs these actions. Thus, the Creator acts in the form of Achoraim [posterior].
In other words, the person sees people’s faces but he should believe that behind the faces stands the Creator and performs these actions. That is, behind the man stands the Creator and compels him to do the deeds that the Creator wants. It follows that the Creator does everything, but the person regards what he sees and not what he should believe.
9. RABASH, Article No.19 (1990), Why Is the Torah Called “Middle Line” in the Work – 2
One must believe that he did this because the Creator commanded him to observe the Mitzva, and he had to obey what the Creator commanded him to do. However, the Creator hid Himself in a clothing of Lo Lishma, such as the friends, so that through this clothing he would think that he must obey the voice of Lo Lishma.
But in truth, one must believe that it was all the Creator’s doing. Thus, after he performs the Mitzva, he should say that it was the Creator who acted behind the clothing of Lo Lishma. It follows that then one should thank the Creator for giving him the desire to observe His commandments through this clothing.
10. Baal HaSulam, Shamati, Article No. 1, “There Is None Else Besides Him”
One must always try and adhere to the Creator, namely that all his thoughts will be about Him. That is to say, even if he is in the worst state, from which there cannot be a greater decline, he should not leave His domain, namely that there is another authority that prevents him from entering the Kedusha [holiness], that can bring benefit or harm.
That is, he must not think that there is a force of the Sitra Achra [other side] that does not let a person do good deeds and walk in the ways of the Creator. Rather, all is done by the Creator.
11. Zohar for All, Introduction to the Book of Zohar “Two Points” No. 121
All the many contradictions to His uniqueness, which we taste in this world, separate us from the Creator. Yet, when exerting to keep Torah and Mitzvot with love, with our soul and might, as we are commanded—to bestow contentment upon our Maker—all those forces of separation do not affect us into subtracting any of the love of the Creator with all our souls and might. Rather, in that state, every contradiction we have overcome becomes a gate for attainment of His wisdom. This is so because there is a special quality in each contradiction—revealing a special degree in attaining Him. And those worthy ones who have been rewarded with it turn darkness into light and bitter into sweet, for all the powers of separation—from the darkness of the mind and the bitterness of the body—have become to them gates for obtainment of sublime degrees. Thus, the darkness becomes a great light and the bitter becomes sweet.
Hence, to the extent that they previously had all the conducts of His guidance toward the forces of separation, now they have all been inverted into forces of unification, and sentence the entire world to the side of merit.
12. Baal HaSulam, Shamati, Article No. 172, “The Matter of Preventions and Delays”
All the preventions and delays that appear before our eyes are but a form of nearing—the Creator wants to bring us closer, and all these preventions bring us only nearing, since without them we would have no possibility of approaching Him. This is so because, by nature, there is no greater distance, as we are made of pure matter while the Creator is higher than high. Only when one begins to approach does he begin to feel the distance between us. And any prevention one overcomes brings the way closer for that person.
13. Baal HaSulam, Shamati, Article No. 70, “With a Mighty Hand and with Fury Poured Out”
When one overcomes all the hardships and the disturbances, one is not easily repelled, but with a mighty hand. And if one overcomes even the mighty hand and does not want to move from the place of Kedusha [holiness] whatsoever, but wants to adhere specifically to Him in truth, and sees that he is repelled, then one says that fury is poured out on him. Otherwise, he would be allowed inside. But because fury is poured out on him by the Creator, he is not admitted into the King’s palace to adhere to Him.
It follows that before one wants to move from one’s place, and breaks in and wants to enter, it cannot be said that he feels that fury is poured out on him. Rather, after all the rejections that he is rejected, and he does not move from his place, meaning when the mighty hand and the fury poured out have already been revealed upon him, then “I will be King over you” comes true. This is so because only through bursting and great efforts does the kingdom of heaven become revealed to him, and he is rewarded with entering the King’s palace.
14. Baal HaSulam, Letter No. 52
When a person introspects and feels his poor state, he awakens to return to the Creator and pours out his prayer in great longing to adhere to the Creator. He thinks that all those prayers and all that awakening are by his own power. He sits and awaits the Creator’s salvation, small or great. When time passes and he sees no sign of welcome from the Creator, he falls into despair because the Creator does not want him, since after all this longing, He did not turn to him at all.
It is written about this: “Seek the Lord while He is found.” That is, when the Creator presents Himself to you for asking, then you will necessarily seek Him, too, for it is man’s way to move first. In other words, the Creator first gives you the heart to seek Him. When you know this, you will certainly grow stronger, as strong as you can ask, for the King is calling you.
15. Rabash. Notes. 133. It Is All Corrections
“All the illnesses that I had placed on Egypt, I will not place on you, for I the Lord am your healer” (Exodus 15:26). Our sages ask, “If I do not place the illness, what is the need for a healer?” (Sanhedrin 101a). We should interpret that since I am the healer, why should I place on you an illness if I must heal the illness? What do I gain by placing an illness? It must be as a punishment, and if I must heal the illness, what kind of punishment is it? It is as though I work for nothing.
For this reason, I will not place illness upon you, and what you think is illness, you are wrong about it. Rather, all the states you feel, if you attribute them to Me, are all corrections by which you will approach Me in Dvekut [adhesion].
16. Baal HaSulam, Shamati, Article No. 121, “She Is Like Merchant-Ships”
“Man shall not live on bread alone, but on what proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord.” This means that the life of Kedusha [holiness] in a person does not come specifically from drawing closer, from entries, meaning admissions into Kedusha, but also from the exits, from the removals. This is so because through the dressing of the Sitra Achra in one’s body, and its claims, “She is all mine,” with a just argument, one is awarded permanent faith by overcoming these states.
This means that one should dedicate everything to the Creator, that is, that even the exits stem from Him. When he is rewarded, he sees that both the exits and the entries were all from Him.
17. RABASH, Article No. 28 (1987), “What Is Do Not Add and Do Not Take Away in the Work“
He must believe above reason and imagine that he has already been rewarded with faith in the Creator that is felt in his organs, and he sees and feels that the Creator leads the entire world as the good who does good. Although when he looks within reason he sees the opposite, he should still work above reason and it should appear to him as though he can already feel in his organs that so it really is, that the Creator leads the world as the good who does good.
Here he acquires the importance of the goal, and from here he derives life, meaning joy at being near to the Creator. Then a person can say that the Creator is good and does good.
18. Baal HaSulam, Letter No. 1
Everyone believes in private Providence, but do not adhere to it at all. The reason is that an alien and foul thought … cannot be attributed to the Creator, who is the epitome of the “good who does good.” However, only to the true servants of the Creator does the knowledge of private Providence open, that He caused all the reasons that preceded it, both good and bad. Then they are adhered to private Providence, for all who are connected to the pure are pure.
Since the Guardian is united with His guarded, there is no apparent division between bad and good. They are all loved and are all clear, for they are all carriers of the vessels of the Creator, ready to glorify the revelation of His uniqueness. It is known by the senses, and to that extent, they have knowledge in the end that all the actions and the thoughts, both good and bad, are the carriers of the vessels of the Creator. He prepared them, from His mouth they emerged, and at the end of correction it will be known to all.
19. Baal HaSulam, Letter No. 8
There is a sublime purpose for all that happens in this world, and it is called “the drop of unification.” When those dwellers of clay houses go through all those terrors, through all that totality, in His pride, which is removed from them, a door opens in the walls of their hearts, which are tightly sealed by the nature of creation itself, and by this they become fit for instilling that drop of unification in their hearts. Then they are inverted like an imprinted substance, and they will evidently see that it is to the contrary—that it was precisely in those dreadful terrors that they perceive the totality, which is removed by foreign pride. There, and only there, is the Creator Himself adhered, and there He can instill them with the drop of unification.
20. Baal HaSulam, Shamati, Article No. 19, “What Is “The Creator Hates the Bodies,” in the Work”
One’s hope should be that since he cannot break free from the power of the will to receive, he is therefore in perpetual ascents and descents. Hence, he awaits the Creator, to be rewarded with the Creator opening his eyes, and to have the strength to overcome and work only for the sake of the Creator. It is as it is written, “One have I asked of the Lord; her will I seek.” “Her” means the Shechina [Divinity]. And one asks “that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life.”

Growing Stronger in There Is None Else Besides Him – Selected Excerpts from the Sources. #3
1. Rav’s Introduction: (0:22) Yes, this is what we have to do in light of the situation that we have here in Israel and also in the world and there will be a response that the more we connect and we want to be closer to the Creator, by that we correct the situation and this is how we will continue all of the hours of our morning study. This is all we can do. We regret the fact that this is happening to us, the fact that we were not united enough. This is what drew upon us, another blow here in Israel where we already have hundreds of people who died and also thousands even that were hurt, injured in some way and only through the power of our connection can we change the situation and bring it from a state of falling and loss to the state of success, well, success. Let’s hope that during our study we will think about good consequences from what we are now going through in Israel and in general in our whole world Kli and that we will realize that our connection is the only thing that can save us. So let’s try to be close in our hearts and let’s begin the lesson with this intention.
Reading Excerpt 3. (02:58) “One has no choice but to direct…”twice
2. R. (05:20) This means that we have no other possibility to correct our situation but only to scrutinize why it came, what purpose did it come and what do we have to do according to the situation, that he says to always aim towards the upper Force, which is actually the source for everything that happens to us, to all of us together, to all of us individually. That all in all, as much as we connect between us and direct ourselves towards Him; by that we correct the situation, and all the time we get closer to adhesion There Is None Else Besides Him.
3. S. (06:16) What is the faith and confidence above reason that a person uses in the tougher times?
R. That if a person feels that he is disconnecting from the Force that manages his life, then it’s a problem. Then that Force, the Creator has no other possibility but only to bring a person closer through all kinds of actions that may be unpleasant, perhaps. However, they shake the person and bring him closer to the purpose, forcefully and so what a person needs is first of all to direct himself to aim towards the Creator, that There Is None Else Besides Him who performs the action over him and over all of humanity and over the whole world and over all of the worlds; that He exists above all of creation and therefore, we need to get closer between us even more and through our common force to elevate ourselves even more towards the Creator.
S. How does the thought of None Else Besides Him in the tough times help a person come out of the tough states or what does it give him in the tough states?
R. Because by that, precisely by taking the coarseness and the pain from the difficult state and connecting it to There Is None Else Besides Him he brings the Creator his request that he wants to be close to the Creator and not because it’s difficult for him, but because now there is an opportunity that the Creator is giving him, an opportunity to get closer to connect, to grow stronger in the power of faith above reason. So it doesn’t matter what he feels and thinks but he now has before him the Force which is Good and doing good and There Is None Else Besides Him and this force is the One that manages the whole of reality Above. Whatever you feel, this Force is even closer to the person in the tough moments, so now the person has an opportunity even though it’s not from a good state seemingly but from a difficult state, to turn to the Creator, that There Is None Else Besides Him and try to be in non-stop adhesion with Him.
S. How to work correctly in such emotional times that flood you with emotion, how to correctly balance the mind and heart?
R. If a person understands that everything is in the hands of the Creator, life and death and in general all of the events that he goes through and also what he thinks, that he thinks that he’s thinking it but nevertheless everything that is happening is happening only from the Creator. So a person should try to be in all of the states, even difficult ones, to be connected to his friends, his group, his ten and out of that to direct himself to the Creator as the only cause that is operating on him.
4. S. (10:35) What does it mean that the light of the Creator doesn’t clothe in the changing of times?
R. The Creator, through all the states that we go through in our mind and in our heart, the feeling that comes to us from the world itself and from the connection between us and from our knowledge about the Creator and out of all of these things all together that we go through, we have to direct ourselves to the Source of everything that is happening, that There Is None Else Besides Him, and we need to try not to disconnect from each other and all of us together from the Creator.
5. S. (11:41) If we now can’t feel in our hearts that There Is None Else Besides Him, if we in our thought and mind try to link all of the events that are happening in our thoughts artificially to relate to that To None Else Besides Him and that it all comes from Him and He does this deliberately because it’s good for us, will that bring us to a feeling in the heart?
R. Yes, if we make an effort and depict to ourselves in all the circumstances that whatever is happening to us comes from the Creator, then even though we are in unpleasant states we nevertheless think that this comes from the Creator, that There Is None Else Besides Him. In spite of everything that we feel and suffer we should nevertheless tie it to the Creator and think that because we are not bonded together and we don’t get closer to Him in that state that we exist this is because of that is our whole trouble and so what we can do is grow stronger and stronger in the connection between us and by that we will be able to overcome all the unpleasant consequences of what is happening.
6. S. (13:28) He writes and if one rejects the moment he displays his folly openly. Why one who rejects is a fool, why is that?
R. Because he doesn’t find in the present moment the possibility to turn to the Creator; this is called a fool. It’s not that he doesn’t have an intellect or he doesn’t have an emotion but rather he is not making a sufficient effort to ascribe everything to There Is None Else Besides Him in whatever state it is, up to, God forbid, the worst possible state, he nevertheless tries to be connected with the Creator and to be close to Him.
S. What do you do against this force that rejects and says, “I’ll do it tomorrow, tomorrow I’ll connect better in the next moment?”
R. No, we have to realize that this is only for the purpose of our connection and in order to promote us even more to the end of correction, the Creator operates His force and He performs all the actions in the world from the smallest actions to the greatest actions.
7. S. (15:01) How does this work differ which is above reason as opposed to the work below reason? On the still level we say that everything comes from the Creator. What’s the difference between these two works that we have to do?
R. The difference between below reason and above reason is that we need to try every moment, no matter what is happening, to try to relate everything to There Is None Else Besides Him, to the upper Force and to try to be in connection between us and out of the connections between us, specifically to rise to Him and demand adhesion; this is the only and most important correction, demand adhesion between us and that we will adhere first in the adhesion between us and then into the Creator. He will try to build this line, adhesion between us and the Creator that we will enter the world that is all good. Not in that it’s good for us but rather in that this is how we give contentment to the Creator.
8. S. (16:33) How in these times that are not simple, how do we help each other really maintain the right intention and aim ourselves towards the Creator, the upper Force and not just distract ourselves to all kinds of things outside? How do we help each other be aimed at connection and in love?
R. We have to rise above the disturbances that we have, that each one of us has and everyone together, and in this way we will succeed in rising above our evil inclination, our ego, above the earthly reason and connect between us and with the Creator. This is actually the solution.
9. S. (17:37) I wanted to ask if this exceptional state creates for us, Bnei Baruch and in the tens, some unique opportunities in addition to our routine work?
R. Of course, of course and this is why after we digest the situation and we become incorporated in it and we want to change it, not because it’s bad for us and this is also true. However, we want to rise above our state in order to bring everything that is happening to us, all of our emotions and thoughts to the upper Force. That He arranges everything, He does everything and There’s None Else Besides Him. So as much as we rise to Him and we want to adhere together between us and to Him, this is our work right now and in that we should feel what is the true reality and the Creator’s intention towards us.
S. This means that the pressure point is to add more prayer in the tens, like many tens added to themselves another meeting of prayer. Is that a correct attitude to the situation, to try to reveal the Creator between us?
R. Yes, it’s the correct and desirable form of action but we should still check are these prayers aimed correctly to what we are learning, to There Is None Else Besides Him.
10. S. (19:33) It says that the forefathers have prepared for us faith and confidence above reason. What do I need to do so I can feel this faith and confidence?
R. First of all we have to realize that each one has an opportunity to reach adhesion with the friends and this adhesion should already give us forces for connection even more until we discover in it the reason for our whole situation which is the upper Force, There Is None Else Besides Him, and when we will reach implementing these things such that besides the Creator we have nothing in the whole of reality and He feels everything. Then we will see the response, the answer from the state we are going through and where we have to reach.
11. S. (21:02) There are friends in our society whose children were drafted now to the Army Reserves, some are fighting, some whose relatives were harmed. The question is: Where’s the responsibility when it touches your flesh? The situation is a lot more challenging than one who’s not being touched by it at the moment, so what is the responsibility of one who is not going through a situation like that on his flesh versus those who do?
R. We have to strengthen everyone and think about everyone and let’s hope that this situation will be corrected very quickly and it all depends only on the connection between us and the prayer from us to the Creator. There is nothing that can help here and correct the situation but only our request out of our connection.
S. The relationship is a general one, we don’t need to relate specifically to specific friends?
R. Well, what are you going to do? The fact that we think of everyone, that we all depend on the Creator and we want to correct the connection between us which is actually the correct purpose, by that, when we connect between us even more “as one man with one heart,” by that we actually compel the Creator to come to us with commands, with actions that are softer, better. So let’s connect and connect with the Creator.
12. S. (23:10) Question about working with None Else Besides Him. What does it mean to relate every state to the Creator?
R. That there is only One Force that manages everything and does everything. He created us from the very first moment of creation, He accompanies us, teaches us and He is the One who is influencing us in the corporeal world which we feel ourselves and also in the spiritual world that we have to reach and then to be adhered to the Creator in heart and soul. And this is why, even in the most difficult moments, we have nothing else to do but only to be in adhesion, to demand adhesion between us and with the Creator.
S. It turns out that seemingly the tougher the times the more naturally a person is drawn to the Creator because he needs support, the situation is bigger than him. The question is: What’s our inner work? I’m talking about us right now. What’s our inner work beyond relating to Him, understanding that it comes from Above, that it comes from the Creator? What else do we need to do to turn the state to a correct attitude of a student on the path?
R. We need to add to it more intention and demand that the fact that we demand from the Creator to be in adhesion to each other and in adhesion with Him is only in order to bring Him contentment. The Creator doesn’t distinguish between difficult moments and small beautiful moments. The Creator only feels our response to be in adhesion between us and with Him, and therefore, this is the state that we should be directed to.
13. S. (25:44) I heard you say that we have to check our prayers, that they’re aimed at the Creator. What’s the essence of this examination when we put together a prayer in the ten?
R. We have to check ourselves all the time, if we are aimed from heart to heart and with all of our hearts will be bonded together into one common heart which will be aimed towards the Creator. This is our work. We have to try to depict this to ourselves in the group, in every connection between us and out of this connection we yearn for the Creator and later on when we will start to feel the Creator inside of the connection between us, we will already feel Him, we will already have a different kind of work, spiritual work. And so with the help of these problems that He awakens in us, He tries to raise us, to lift us to the next degree and to direct us to Him.
14. S. (27:31) It’s said to direct all present and future moments to the Creator. How do we work, let’s say, with the present moments to the Creator or the future? Is there a difference in the way we treat them?
R. No, we, as Baal HaSulam writes, we should direct all of our moments, those that we went through, those that we feel right now and those that are destined to come to us, all of these moments we want to direct to the Creator, to There’s None Else Besides Him, to the single Unique and Unified Source and by that we will ultimately feel that we are incorporated in Him and it is only with Him that we have a connection.
S. What could be an example of future moments? How do we get those?
R. That everything that is happening right now and everything that will happen to us in our life, we want to be connected with the Creator, no matter what it is. R. The difference between connecting in an ordinary group vs a purposeful group is that it is directed towards the Creator. R. South America is indeed a very strong vessel, they have a wide, big heart and a very broad feeling and so this is what we feel. I hope that we will get closer to them and perhaps we will have the next Congress, maybe in South America.
30. S. (55:55) We want in South America to have a greater degree of connection. How do we know that we’re aiming correctly towards this connection?
R. This is according to the daily work when we check ourselves all the time, each one on his own and each one with respect to the group, and the group needs connection and looking at other groups and this is how we reach a greater connection and rising each and every day an hour desire to bestow to each other.

R. By all of us in the ten working to see the true reality that the Creator paints to us and we ask the Creator that He will be revealed through this reality.
S. He depicts to us the true reality or do we have to create it in the connections between us?
R. We don’t create anything. We only, we can only ask the Creator that we have to see instead of this reality we see we have to see Him as the source of all of this reality.
37. S. (01:12:57) It says here, first one should believe that nature’s partitions do not cut off from him, afterward he should pray from the bottom of his heart, even for something that’s above his natural desire. What does it mean that first he must believe and later on he should pray?
R. Because otherwise if he does not paint some picture of himself of some relationship between him and the group, him and and the Creator, then how will he pray? The prayer has to be connected or comprised of two states, the present state and either the past or the future state. Typically it’s the present state and the future state. That’s what he needs to envision to himself and then turn to the Creator, what form of the future he wants to have; adhesion with the Creator.
S. Which is something that’s above his natural desire?
R. Yes. A person can say yeah I want but what does adhesion with the Creator means, to describe it correctly. Adhesion with the Creator means that he detaches from his present will to receive and rises above it by faith above reason and then he comes to the next degree.
S. If I can ask a practical question, how can we direct ourselves and the whole society in an individual ten and also in the group and the society in general so that indeed all of the time we will see that there is none else besides Him and we will want all the time to walk with a prayer that indeed we will be in that place which is above reason and give joy and confidence to everyone, because what’s happening right now is that we have connections for prayer and reading all day long and also all kinds of discussions in the chat, groups about all kinds of things, and what’s the corporeal state, that people look at the news, but we also have the lesson that we can hear all the time, we can have it in our ear. So my question is what is the right balance in order to truly be directed in the right way?
R. After we hear a bit of all of those things, a bit, we have to aim them towards the purpose of creation. As much as the things that we hear and we get inspired by listening to it, it all has to aim me directly towards the purpose of life.
S. What do we need to focus on between the friends when we talk between us? Do we need to talk mostly about the lesson, about the situation, about supporting one another?
R. The purpose of life, the purpose of the lesson, and none else besides Him.

S. It is written that there are wars along the way etc., so how can we expect that the revelation of the Creator to His created beings in this world. Isn’t in this world, the world that we see, is this world something else? Because the Creator should be revealed as good as doing good in this world so where is that in this world? If everything will continue with wars until the very end, never until the end of correction, we won’t be able to see that things are going with Hassadim, mercy, and in a good way?
R. As much as we succeed to be in such vessels that’s what we will feel and if we are unsuccessful in it we will feel the opposite.
S. Didn’t we succeed in the previous congress?
R. You can’t say as much as you succeeded or not.
S. This is what I’m asking, shouldn’t we see a connection? Shouldn’t we expect to see a connection between our action and that we will directly see in this world a change for the better?
R. We can’t see that yet. They have eyes and they shall not see. We are still in such a state because if we would see what we have done it would weaken us a lot, we wouldn’t want to advance anymore. The Creator is letting us advance constantly in ways just like we learned in school, you come out of a lesson in school and you get the lesson the next day and more and more and you have to do homework and all kinds of things like that, meaning there is no rest in that.
S. What is the way of Torah and not the way of sufferings if only in the final correction? So that should be the path of Torah not the path of suffering?
R. The path of Torah as opposed to the path of suffering is what a person feels, that what he goes through is for the benefit of his spiritual advancement only.
S. So again like you said, we shouldn’t expect from our work for us to see with our eyes in this world a change. This world will not manage itself the way it is until the final correction.
R. Correct, but we will not be in this world already, we will already overcome above it to a higher world.
S. I understand Rav, so if it’s possible here we still say the revelation of the Creator to the created beings in this world. So where is this world where it will also be good if we are rising above, but this world should also be. What is this world?

R. You’ll need to connect all those forces together, you’ll need to aim all this common force to one goal, to adhesion, inner adhesion with the Creator Himself, and then through that you’ll advance and discover the world of truth, the true world where we all exist, that isn’t concealed from us just as it is now but it will be revealed more and more.
S. Why when there are conventions, why does the Creator bring us closer even more to Him? What force is there in the conventions that this force, there’s like a hastening in this force?
R. If we’re all connected together with extra force and extra quantity so obviously we affect the Creator and we force Him to help us advance towards Gmar Tikkun. That’s why all and all we need to get a deficiency for those conventions and in the conventions try to connect ourselves as strong as we can, that deficiency to connect and the connection will bring us to the goal, to Gmar Tikkun, the end of corrections.
