Part 1:

Rabash. Article 4, (1990). What It Means that the Generations of the Righteous are Good Deeds, in the Work

Reading Article “Our sages said about the verse…”

1. Rav’s Introduction:

S. (38:39) First of all I’d like to tell you thank you, already there’s a sensation that you’re preparing us to read these articles and to understand them there’s very different sensation so gratitude for this. The question now this machine, the body I’m used to, you can get it used to many things but this contentment to the Creator is very ephemeral it escapes you. How do you get this machine used to but every action will be in this intention to the Creator?

R. It will come, this needs to come gradually, slowly, with the support of the society this will be… you can feel that the people are also in it. That will settle in you.

2. S. (39:52) Why only from the state of ascent we can learn about the descent and the permanent state and why can’t we only learn from the ascent?

R. The ascent is called this way because we are receiving the relationships, the means that are higher than usual and so just like when standing on a hill you can see the surroundings so it’s natural, it’s natural for it to take place.

3. S. (40:48) He writes here about every person needs a specific order for him and what is suitable for him and not suitable for others so every person needs to go according in the order that is suitable for him, the order of the work. So we see in our work in the tens we’re always trying to arrange some common order for us as to the general order of the society and the ten and we all try to go according to that line, like we see it also in life but every person has their own preferences, some likes to study and some likes to disseminate more, some like the help in the building and different times in the society we’re trying to get everybody to be the same, It is that maybe it’s not according to man’s nature?

R. Each one has to check where does he participate, where does he bestow, where does he connect to what is naturally to the environment. In order to incorporate with them the more of this person receive from them. That’s why one is not like the other and they don’t need to be like the others or simply learn how to, how to learn this exertion but the precise step of exertion depends on the person.

S. So let’s say in the tens we focus mainly on the ten in the past year and a person has limited time during the day. How does he realize this direction that his heart wants to give like I said one wants to study, one wants to disseminate at the same time. How can a person determine that he’s realizing himself to the maximum and not entering some slope that he’s not giving 100% of himself.

R. Typically it’s sort of an average when a person is capable of doing what he’s attracted to doing and what the society wants from him, so between the two each one grasps something in the middle how would you want it to be otherwise?

S. Ideally it seems each is right where we need to discover our nature or this type.. maybe two types of people some that like to disseminate they can be in that ten and all those others I don’t know if that’s correct, it seems to be that each one has an order of work that’s suitable for him that right.

R. I don’t think that it changes over time. The main thing is for a person to adapt himself to the society and what society demands of him. If he tries to do it more or less according to his natural qualities then this is what’s happening later, the Creator corrects and arranges everything.

4. S. (44:36) He writes give the machine, we need to give the machine everything it needs first and then he’s talking about how the body that’s useful for us in the work. It’s interesting how the Kabalists relate to the body to take care of it well. They treated it correctly.

R. We didn’t really learn about the importance they gave. They gave it the importance of a machine that you need to use and for it to perform what’s required.

S. Something that we need to really give it attention, importance, sleep, food.

R. Yes, yes.

5. S. (45:43) So he says I learned much from my teachers and from my friends, and even more so from my friends, the permanent state and even more from the descent and even more from the disciples right in the descent. How do we understand this in the work?

R. From the descents a person learns much. That’s where it acquires new vessels.

S. But there is the ascent, the permanent state and the descent, what is the permanent state that I learned much from the permanent state which is learning from the friends?

R. He learns how to use the ascensts and descents in order to improve them because the permanent state to add to the permanent state from the ascents and descents.

S. How can a person organize this in his heart and mind, that this is one system? That now I’m in a sin, now I’m in a permanent state, now I’m in a decent and how can we … this all the time?

R. It’s an experience gradually he understands how to combine these three states.

6. S. (47:17) He says that the entire study is during the ascent so what must a person learn during the ascent?

R. Everything is learned after all in a relative state from one relative to the other and what does he learn?, how everything looks appears more spiritual.

S. He emphasized here that if in the ascent a person doesn’t study from these above states it’s called that he doesn’t learn much, and he adds here that it’s not so clear, that a person needs to learn from his friend during the ascent. I feel that all my states of ascent are really missed opportunities, that I’m not taking enough force from them to continue onward, that I’m missing something in these states?

R. This too shall pass, attach more of the intellect to it and you’ll learn.

7. S. (48:48) To continue the friend, he says that he hasn’t learn much if he doesn’t learned from the ascent; is this like being really excited from a Congress and coming home from your first lesson, it its called that you haven’t learned much yet until you’ve learned from your friend, which says that you learn more? Is that the permanent State meaning that we see in this man’s permanent work getting up to the morning lesson, doing all the work and the prayers, is routine in order to fulfill it and from here we seemingly can learn more about their perseverance and their Arvut and all these things; and then it says that we learn the most from the descent from disciples, that this being a state that he really wanted, demanded, asking to learn that’s the greatest concentration of forces, is that are correct observation?

R. Let it be it for now.

8. S. (50:05) I actually want to add an impression, inspiration?

R. Okay, I don’t know how connected it is to the lesson.

S. This article is a wonder, it did like a million things in me. I don’t know how long it’ll take us to read 15 minutes? it brought me love a friends, sensation of the others, sensation of the Creator, it brought me everything that exists in this world. Rabashs ís this wonderful thing that does wonders what do you say?

R. This is right, so I agree with you, it’s right.

9. S. (50:53) I wanted to ask that what he writes here that regarding faith we need true guidance the mentorship to walk the path of the Creator, he follows up that specifically in this manner a person should all his forces in this point and not spread it around. How do you check that you’re investing your forces in the right point and not spreading it all around?

R. By trying to be adhered to the friends, I have no other way of doing it.

S. But what changes from you, why specifically in faith he’s giving us this emphasis, we must have true guidance.

R. Because only through the power of faith can you rise from degree to degree.

S. And the connection between the friends, what does it give?

R. It gives you the possibility of rising up the degrees of faith.

S. How is that different, what’s indifferent in faith two that there isn’t in faith one, why are there degrees of faith?

R. You have greater powers, power of bestowal, the power to detect the upper one.

S. Maybe I’ll ask differently, how do you check yourself that you’re investing your forces specifically on this point and not spreading into all sorts of engagements around it, I don’t know exactly but it says here that you can and I want to check at the end of the day that I have work to advance in faith?

R. It depends on how much, what extent you can be devoted to the demands of the Creator.

S. But what does it mean to be devoted to the demands of the Creator, how do I identify or recognize this demands?

R. I don’t know how to put it whatever the Creator demands us to have an inclination to the friend and through them to the Creator, and I do try to keep it.

S. A possibility to be more dedicated to the friends, to be in greater tendency towards them, in what is this development dependent on that you can change to be like this?

R. On what development depend on? in the extent to which I appreciate the friends, the value of the friends.

S. But then what tendency will I have if I’m already appreciating them they’re great in my eyes and so I act I have a reason that I act because of it?

R. So why isn’t this good?

S. I that we wanted to operate without any calculations about why I’m doing it?

R. You can’t do things without calculations, how come.

10. S. (55:13) What preparation must we do in though, in order to do good deeds?

R.That through this action, through this deed you’re approaching the Creator, this is the best possible report you can get.

11. S. (55:48) Regarding this that every person must arrange his life we know that regarding necessity a person shouldn’t try to attach that and everything else he must give to the path, we also learned that a person can check his necessity right for sustenance and so I have let’s say a very clever will to receive and he tells me oh this thing is so necessary I can’t be without it; how do we work with what this will to receive is telling me, it tells me oh, this is absolutely necessary?

R. Being Incorporated in society more than before and then you see that it’s possible to be satisfied with less, only through the incorporation and the society.

S. Okay so we need to also keep our friends to protect them in the Ten so that they’re necessity will not be harmed and sometimes it seems to me that unintentionally we can strengthen a friend in such a manner that we cause him I don’t know out of honor or I don’t know different states we’re still not corrected, that maybe we can bring a person to some corners but then the results of his sustenance we see that something’s harm there, how do we keep from that?

R. Think about it from the very beginning, I have nothing more to add.

S. Last question. He ties here between corrections and a person’s exertion. What’s the connection between our exertion that brings us to corrections?

R. No you said it yourself, what’s the connection between exertion and corrections?

S. Didn’t really said it I just said I understood that there is a connection, I don’t understand what is the reason?

R. How can there be a correction without exertion, a correction is something against the desire so when we perform certain acts against our desire we transfer from in order to receive to in order to bestow by that we make corrections

12. S. (59:06) He says here BHS said that according to the praise and gratitude given to the Creator to that extend the person ascents and it does not matter what he asks, what matters is how much he was impressed by nearing to the Creator and to the extent of the gratitude the  person gives to that extent he ascents in degree. What I understand here the way we look at descends from the time of descents it gives the person the gap that he can give in greater gratitude that he was in before; in the afternoon lesson you said we turn to the Creator usually when we’re in a bad state, when we have some problems and we’re not in the connection with Him that everything seems to be okay, so how do you do this that you keep connection with him all the time and not only when you need something from Him?

R. That’s also habit becomes second nature and also prayer. I don’t want to part with the Creator no matter the state, the highest, the lowest, most most pleasant; I do not wish to part ways with him, the most important to be connected to him all the time. Try it. It’s like when we want to stay and remain the embryo, an embryo is inside his mother regardless of the actions he performs he’s always inside of her in the womb, that’s how we need to see ourselves, that nothing changes, rather we change our attitudes, desires our thoughts; we are seemingly born disconnect from our place of birth and so on and so forth. But this all in order to have an opportunity to stay in that state, connected and inside our progenitor.

13. S. (01:02:06) Rabash writes for this reason during the descent a person must not decide anything but only pray to the Creator to deliver him from the lowliness. What kind of decisions is Rabbash warning us not to make?

R. Nothing, if you are in a descent you shouldn’t decide about anything.

S. Let’s say about the schedule. During the descent I can decide I want to be in the lesson, I decide this way that way?

R. It’s desirable to do this before the descent and in the descent just leave things as they are.

14. S. (01:02:58) It’s like Rabash is putting a stern warning to those who remain without a remedy, a Segula because they lack a strong desire. What is the reason a person cannot develop a strong desire if he is inside the environment?

R. And he can’t develop a strong desire? It’s not called the environment, it’s a sign that he doesn’t have the environment.

S. How inside the environment he can do it because here he says that he jumps from lust and envy, it’s all mixed, he’s not able to get the remedy. Is there something in the environment that can help him develop his desire in the more powerful way?

R. How? By what means?

S. Let’s say it has all those forces around him, envy, honor but he’s not taking advantage of it. How do we measure that he used all the forces at his disposal?

R. When he’s tied to the environment, the society, he receives these forces from them. His pride, his ego begins to awaken even more and then he turns to the Creator and asks for corrections.

S. Relative to writer’s envy, counters envy, how to activate that?

R. Envy of others? The same way. First of all he considers, gives importance to his environment, society and he thinks about them. That they’re unique and high and that he does actions to connect with them and for this he needs to diminish himself. And when he diminishes himself surely then he connects with them like the same fetus in the mother’s womb. That’s how he connects with them, gets closer to them and there’s connection with them and he continues by this connection with them to rise. He demands from them.

S. So counters envy, writer’s envy is also toward the friends, not necessarily toward the books?

R. Towards friends too.

15. S. (01:06:15) What does the mechanism of envy depend on? Let’s say like the example he gives with the neighbors, one says something about the other and there’s no envy. We see it also in  society. Sometimes I see good example, a seemingly good example but I’m not able to develop envious a result.

R. We come from one desire, one will to receive that afterwards exploded, divided into many desires and each one along with this feels that he wants with all the desires together to feel what is happening with him. That with what state he is in relative to them. Out of that he gets envy. So envy helps us to attain the same state, the same stand that we were once in, connected together.

S. Practically speaking if I’m trying to awaken the society to envy I don’t see that the envy has any effect on the friends. In what way I can approach it to use it nevertheless?

R. Meaning you’re asking how to awaken the friend?

S. Yes, the example is to awaken him but we see that sometimes seemingly it doesn’t work.

R. Without envy, envy lust and honor. So you need to show the friend that there is someone who receives greater honor than him, there is someone who the others respect or seems greater and then to influence him like this to bring him out of balance. it works. if the society wants to shake itself up it has a lot of opportunities. Our will to receive is very sensitive. Each and every one of us mostly tries to protect himself but the moment we want to bestow to the friends from the side of the society, the environment we can do with him whatever we want. When a person remains naked in his small will to receive and then like a small child standing in the middle, naked and crying, we can’t do it then. That’s us.

16. S. (01:09:44) If a person discovers that after certain process I suddenly see that my desire is weakening, what to do with it, how to strengthen the desire?

R. Envy, lust and honor.

S. But I do not envy the friends.

R. so honor.

S. I have honor from the friends.

R. Oh, you have from the friends.

S. Yes they respect me.

R. It’s not enough, it’s the opposite, it calms you down. And lust?

S. For what?

R. Doesn’t matter lust for what.

S. I don’t know I feel like the desire for the path, for spirituality, yes it’s wearing out. I feel a burn- out. There’s a problem, you feel like if it continues this way you’ll find yourself outside, like in Baal HaSulam’s letter. You suddenly find yourself outside of the garden.

R. Correct. And you have no advice what to do?

S. I’m asking.

R. Well look how many friends you have. Besides here you have a thousand times more. They can’t help you? I don’t know, to do something, any advice?

S. The friends are trying to help. They want to meet, they want offer strength, reinforcement but I don’t feel the need, the urgency. I don’t feel like this is what is going to awaken me.

R. You don’t respect them enough, so what to do?

S. Exactly the question, what to do. there’s this state this power society is willing to give but I don’t respect them enough in order to receive this power so what do we do?

R. Do you think anything is left in you or not to overcome?

S. I thought about maybe simulating the respect with a little bit of humiliation but I’m afraid it’s going to kick me out of the path because of the insult.

R. And still, what do you think will influence you?

S. I don’t know.

R. Can we recommend to him anything friends? loLk how many people we have here. Let’s start with someone nearby. Short and to the point.

S1. (01:13:46) Place a goal that is challenging or offer himself a higher goal and strive for it.

R. Spiritual or corporeal goals?

S1. Mark a difficult goal in spirituality. Another book, something higher that will be appreciated by everyone and then slice it into small pieces and advance.

R. Next.

S2. (01:14:22) First of all I respect him and I appreciate him.

R. Without all your..

S2. The best situation in this state is to look for someone like himself and help him out. He didn’t get it for himself, he needs to look for someone like himself and try to help him out.

R. Okay that’s difficult. Yes.

S3. (01:14:50) I have a feeling that the friend has plenty to give.

R. Let’s not talk about the friend and relate to the friend.

S3. Writing, write a book

R. Okay you said it. Good.

S4. (01:15:19) I want to thank the Creator for giving him this state and I’m asking all the friends in the world Kli for this great friend, to give him revelation, bestowal.

R. Okay, thank you very much.

S5. (01:15:42) Maybe to go to a cemetery to see what’s life is worth.

R. You go and tell us about it.

S5. No, no it’s a recommendation for the friend.

R.

S6. (01:16:01) Talk to my friends and integrate with a new desire because every time we mingle we get strength.

R. That might help a bit.

S7. 01:16:21) We learn a wonderful thing, we have great actors here. The ten has to act out a state of love between the friends in order to cause him to be envious so he can come out of his state. The truth is when we went to make coffee I saw him and I had the urge to hug him. I guess what he’s passing us is what the friends are missing, he has to envy the friends that are loving each other this will bring him out of this state.

R. Okay, okay.

8. S. (01:17:10) I think the advice is to keep on going, keep on going on the path with what we’re doing. It’s just states to go through, everything will pass.

R. To keep going, okay.

9. S. (01:17:26) First of all the friend has states that are much worse that are expecting him. He was by the way my first teacher….?

R. Without pointing about him.

10. S. What I’m doing about myself and the only thing that holds me is the sentence ‘do anything except leave.’ I made a covenant with the ten and with my wife, I’ll do anything but I won’t leave.

R. Okay.

11. S. (01:17:56) Looking for friends in the vessel that are not respecting him and to make an effort to be more connected and to be respectable in their eyes and this can make him discover something new.

R. Yes, to give him some air.

12. (01:18:21) I think teaching at least three times a week and I can show him 10 or 15 more books that are waiting for his translation. Thanks to him we have thousand of students, thanks to him specifically and thanks to his translations.

R. Okay.

13. S. (01:18:46) To find the group in the world Kli that has to be lifted. He is really highly valued and to ask him to move over there.

R. Okay.

14. S. (01:19:15) In the past we used to advise friends who feel that to go to the kitchen, we have a kitchen duty. It seems to me today the kitchen is full of people but there is a new opportunity this Sunday. We’re starting to do work here in the building and from the roof till the floor there is so much work to do and each one can do if you are professional on you’re not professional at all, just to want, to come. You do work with your hands and feet and it instills inner forces, guaranteed.

R. Okay is that clear to you? From Sunday you are in the kitchen.

15. S. (01:20:15) Actually the friend said this week that he is envying one friend in the group that comes to clean the bathroom and he keeps on doing that. So he actually told us he is envious of such a friend.

R. Okay.

16. S. (01:20:40) Tight work with people, with groups, with new friends. It will cause him like first love, that they feel that and he’s responsible over them.

R. Okay, all of that is clear to us.

17. S. (01:21:03) From time to time a good conversation about spirituality with women and his wife is a Kabbalist so he can certainly talk to her and it will open the point in the heart again.

R. That’s a strong suggestion, but he..

18. S. (01:21:30) Until one is in the end of correction there is no reason to be content.

R. Correct.

19. S. (01:21:55) Very simple. Self-annulment, incorporation and impression, it’s very simple.

R. Way to go. Okay guys, that’s clear it’s more difficult to try and describe something. Look, you know how many questions I have here, people that want to say something… look at this.

20. S. (01:22:44) It says in the article although when he’s merited to follow the path of the Creator with the lights of the Creator and has to increase its size 620 times more than the root, what does it mean to attain the real names of the Creator?

R. Again the question?

S. What does it mean to attain the real names of the Creator?

R. That means to reveal the vessel, the deficiency for attaining the Creator, the one that is suitable for my degree that I’m on and to invert this deficiency into a vessel that will be filled with the light. And then the vessel and the light together will be the holy name that I attain. Is that clear? Ask, it is something that is, it’s something very important.

21. S. (01:24:27) Why is that important?

R. That’s attainment. That is the action of attainment.

S. One should yearn for such a thing concretely, to a certain holy name?

R. To perform it, to implement it, to discover the holy names, to discover the Creator. It’s called according to those names, according to those gradual revelations. I don’t even have words. We have to try to come closer to it and to implement it, to try it. We are close to this.

22. S. (01:25:32) It’s not clear. How to turn the deficiency to a vessel that’s full of light?

R. A true deficiency is the vessel. There’s a deficiency that I want but the true deficiency is that with that deficiency I turn myself into the activator, the worker. That I want to work in such a way that I want to fill the Creator, I will fill the Creator. It sounds weird but that is actually what I am able to do.

S. What do I have to fill the Creator with?

R. With my deficiency, with my longing, with my desire to give Him.

S. So how can I turn my deficiency into a vessel?

R. Try and describe, imagine that baby that wants to give joy to the mother.

S. How can I become from the one who is worked on to the one who works?

R. You activate the upper one, that He will correct you, that He will fill you that He will take care of you and you are willing to do anything to be in His hands. Feel as a baby. I want to be in His hands, that He will do anything He needs, anything and I am willing to annul.

S. How do you come to that?

R. According to the desire, according to the preparation, by thinking about it.

S. How do you come to such devotion that you become like a baby in His hands?

R. Yes.

S. How?

R. I try and depict to myself how good it would be that I annul to His taking care of me.

S. That’s bestowal? This devotion to the Creator, is that bestowal?

R. Yes, because me myself, obviously I can’t do any corrections by myself or on myself. I just need to devote myself to Him.

S. And the previous state to that, the previous step to that is through the friends?

R. Along with the friends I supposedly tie myself with them and devote myself to Him, to the upper one.

23. S. (01:29:15) Rabash writes in the article that if one has a certain thought and he wants to perform an action first has to think what he wants to do in order to enjoy the action. I’m examining if my action will be of joy?

R. Serious question and we can check it only on the friends. That’s why I first we have to prepare the vessel and afterwards to accept the light into it.

S. How to examine this on the friends, what should I see in my friends? What pleasure should I see in my friends before I perform an action?

R. I need to connect to the friends to such an extent that I will feel how the Creator is revealed between us. We need to connect to such an extent that the Creator, when He is concealed between us then He can be revealed between us.

S. What does it mean that He’s revealed?

R. He is revealed, his qualities are revealed, of connection, bestowal, love.

24. S. (01:31:20) Where does the feeling of pleasure appear in me? Should I feel the pleasure?

R. Yes, yes.

25. S. (01:31:38) We have friends in the ten that want to disseminate the book The Jewish Choice and that is very important for us for dissemination. There is a lot of heart in this book and the friends want to disseminate it. Yesterday we read the text we read this morning in our ten we read it yesterday and I have a question about the speaking level that is not clear. My question is who or what is considered the speaking level in spirituality? What is that that Rabash describes here?

R. Speaking degree is the highest one, still, vegetative, animate and the speaking. It’s the top degree, the final one, the highest.

26. S. (01:33:41) The article from the first paragraph said there is no righteous man without a son and it’s mentioned to say good deeds alone are not enough to be righteous. What is son and how do we achieve son?

R. Sons are the good deeds that a person can give birth to from his efforts, meaning the next degree he is attaining by making efforts in bestowal. Clear?

27. S. (01:34:44) What is the action, external or internal action, when a person shifts from Lo Lishma to Lishma in the group?

R. That’s the light that works on a person and lifts him from the degree from Lo Lishma to Lishma, that is very special, it’s the result of great efforts throughout the long time.

28. S. (01:35:26) Would you explain the connection between our states on the ascent-descent cycle and an individual’s behavior, like wanting to leave the path and being in a descent after having a great ascent?

R. We are always like that, between ascents and descents, and it’s constantly working on us and we have no choice but to keep overcoming above them. First of all, to start, not to get too excited by it, that is the first thing; second use those states, use those ascents and descents correctly and it will come.

29. S. (01:36:32) A question from a friend: What is the best external approach to the friends in order to annul like a loving mother when she wants to give her babies pleasure?

R. To annul like a mother who loves her babies is good, but this annulment brings to a state that we must work and we must take care of one another and that already obligates us to be concerned of the friends and to do actions as ‘one man with one heart ‘, and by this we make the action and will lift ourselves, at least the ten, to a higher degree.

30. S. (01:38:00) The body needs to discover its will to receive through the friends and then one can turn the desire that has been revealed into the will to bestow. If this is correct, when the person does this work, does he build bestowal on his own or he only discovers it through the friends?

R. Only discovers it, only discovers it, most of our work is to discover it, that is how it is.

31. S. (01:38:53) When the Creator takes the pleasure from a person, like an all our spiritual work, dissemination, all these things, he simply takes the pleasure away, what does the Creator expect the person to do then, to find some source of pleasure on his own, like envy, lust and honor? Because it seems to be the same ego again so what’s the deal with taking the pleasure away from spiritual work to give the person an opportunity to build his own egoistic desires once more?

R. The Creator takes the pleasure from a person in order for a person to find greater pleasures, a greater degree in his work, by connecting to others.

S. May I ask ,if I may about envy lust and honor: Why are they so important on our path, why don’t we talk about bestowal to others, why do we talk about envy, lust and honor. Why these things, even in our world when we relate to them in the negative way?

R. Because we can’t advance without those qualities.

S. I wanted to talk about the friend, not even one friend, any person who is in such a state, sometimes we can turn, not only to mechanical work. but to creative work to write songs and work with the musicians, if he can write a song or poem in English, I promise to compose them.

R. Okay, what are we going to the next?

32. S. (01:41:26) Can I give one recommendation to the friend?

R. I don’t think he needs it anymore, he’s full, already.

S. In the previous round, I thought about saying “give coffee to the friends” but it’s too small for him, he’s too big for such small things. I would go for cruel solution, I would fire him from our factory, fire him or at least give him half his the salary, and he should go out and look for some work outside, the routine ate him up, I think.

R. No, no he specifically isn’t like most of the friends, he doesn’t need any excuse or incentive in the work, he works in the way that he doesn’t miss one minute, not one minute! That is why in his work he is very important, he already has, there is a cue for all the work he has to do!

S. Okay he’s doing great work and if it does one hundred books but he dies like a beast, what’s more important for him, to leave in spirituality or leave one hundred books and die like a beast, waht’s more important?

R. It has nothing to do with one another, it has nothing to do with one another, because in corporeality when he performs these corrections, the translations, it’s not spirituality, it’s just if it’s was a gardener of working on the garden, that does not matter.

33. S. (01:43:43) I didn’t understand why an action like translation, like the friend does ,why isn’t that a spiritual action? He’s disseminating the wisdom of Kabbalah, he translates books, many read them, these are sources. If he translates The Book of Zohar, isn’t there some spiritual gain there?

R. Yes?

S. So why do you say it’s like gardening in the garden?

R. And why does it come to him and he deserves it and not someone else?

S. Because he’s working, he acts, what do you mean?

R. But if the Creator didn’t give those qualities to someone else so why does one person deserve?

S. Someone else will give his share to the society with his qualities he got from the Creator?

R. Meaning it doesn’t depend on what a person got to begin with?

S. I still don’t understand, I don’t settle down: Why an action of dissemination, translation of a source, is not considered a spiritual reward?

R. The fact that the person activates the qualities he got from birth ,it doesn’t count because he got it from birth?

S. And how can he turn it, if I got some quality from birth and they use it for the society?

R. Okay, good so you’re using it.

S. How can I turn it to a spiritual reward?

R. Spiritual reward depends on your attitude, the way your relation, and that way you’re actually doing.

S. No matter what I’m doing?

R. No.

S. Whether it’s an innate or not innate?

R. No, if next to him there is a friend who doesn’t have an ability to do it, so what do you do?

S. I’m asking how can I use my innate qualities for the sake of society so they can become a spiritual gain, spiritual reward?

R. Use it but I’m telling you those who don’t have those qualities from birth so, so they can’t come with a complaint?

S. If someone teaches new students, we say someone who teaches and does, so doesn’t he get some spiritual reward for it, he has a talent – rhetorical or something, but isn’t it?

R. No.

S. No corporal action can yield some spiritual reward, any action, in our society I’m talking?

R. No.

S. We go to the kitchen to serve coffee to the friends, when I serve the friends?

R. That is something else.

S. How is that different?

R. I am not using what I got from above, I am using what I’m now doing with my exertion towards the friends.

S. And if I’m a cook?

R. Okay?

S. I’m serving my friends with my talent of cooking so is it an action or it’s not exertion because that’s my quality?

R. You can’t really differentiate between the talents you got from birth and the exertion you’re giving, but actually it is a question, that’s a question. Why do I deserve that if I was born, hmm like a genius, so, so why do I get a prize for that?

34. S. (01:48:21) In the beginning of the lesson, maybe about a quarter of the lesson, you said that the most important thing is to remain adhere to the Creator all the time and to not let go of that. I want to ask about the lesson, if we’re in this discussion: Before the lesson friends wake each other up and they cause the friends to come or if you’re in the zoom to wake up, etc. During the lesson there are many states we see, it seems that we’re dormant, that’s how it seems.

R. Yes.

S. It’s my flaws so I don’t want to say but that’s how it seems to be, my question is how can we be more attentive and more awake in the lesson. So that when the friend opened his heart, it opened everyone but usually that doesn’t happen in an ordinary lesson. What should we do in order to really guard each other to be adhered to the Creator in the lesson which is the most important time?

R. Are you asking how to pass through the lesson in the best way?

S. Not on your behalf or the study material I’m talking about us, how can we in our tens be in maximally attentive, under tension, enthusiastic, and act gladly inside?

R. This what you’re saying exactly now is what we need.

S. How, what’s the recipe for it to happen during the whole lesson, all week long, all the time, how not to let go of that?

R. I don’t know, I always wrote things down, I used to draw, record it, I wrote questions, I wrote answers; I have notebooks, whole notebooks, what else do you need during the lesson? The rest is internal work, as much as along with the friends I want to try to be in the lesson, in the center of the lesson, in, how do I say it, in that same place where the lesson takes place. I have nothing else to say but you’re in this more or less, you’re coming close to this, coming close to it.

35. S. (01:51:46) To continue the friend’s question, a child doesn’t think about giving pleasure to his mother, how can we as a ten fill the Creator?

R. We can fill the Creator only with our intentions, only with our intentions.

36. S. (01:52:25) How to increase envy and lust towards the connection?

R. I don’t know, I think that we’re in such a state, in such a world, in such a time, that it’s not so difficult to depict to ourselves and see how with the efforts the world changes, it really does change very quickly. I don’t see anything that stands as an obstacle to the change of this world, look how many we have on our screens, people from all the various parts of the world. All we’re lacking is one thing: to increase the pressure a little bit from our hearts to the general direction of connection and then everything will fall into place, that’s it and I have nothing to add.
