Part 1:
Noam Elimelech. A Prayer before a Prayer
1. Rav’s Introduction: (00:33) This is the text, the prayer that’s very well known to all the Kabbalists already many years that they would read this text before the desire that they want to awaken to one connection. It’s a very unique prayer.
Reading “A Prayer Before A Prayer” (01:16) “May it Please You Our Lord…”
2. S. (12:21) This prayer that the friend read for us, sounds very exalted, very full. How to achieve a whole one desire just for that?
R. Make the effort to incorporate in this, we cannot rise to heights of the prayer itself because it’s been written by a Kabbalist from his place that he attains in which he’s in adhesion with the Creator, but we can aim ourselves toward this as much as we can.
S. But if I were to be true with myself most things there feel like there is not I feel like I do not have such an inner desire in which I want it that way?
R. You will concede in all these things to incorporate these things like a little child, like a baby that wants to incorporate among adults. In this matter you will rise the ascent is always in this that we concede what we have, we annul our forces and we want to clothe in higher degrees if whether we deserve it or not and it doesn’t matter. It’s the time of desire and thus we ask.
3. S. (4:05) At the beginning of the lesson, you said that this prayer is very special. What’s special about it?
R. First of all, it’s been written by a great Kabbalist, one of great attainment and very known, and we want to resemble him, to get close to his degree and to feel, to understand something from what he understands and feels, to a bit of his attainment to illuminate to us.
S. There are many prayers and many prayer books. What differentiates this prayer from those that also great Kabbalists wrote?
R. Yes, Kabbalists wrote many prayers, some of them reached us, some of them disappeared along the way. That’s already the upper providence that protects and guards what we receive and we need to see in this prayer as a prayer that’s recommended to us by all of our teachers that we should incorporate in it. We see that there is nothing in the prayer that we can’t understand it’s very open, very emotional, it very much clothes in the heart and brings us closer. All the rest depends on how much a person is tied to this prayer and annuls himself in order to be in it in heart and soul.
S. As we pray, usually we do a prayer between us, we write a prayer together, each says something or is the prayer something that’s in our heart so why do we need to read the prayer?
R. If we write the prayer, we write it out of the states that we are in, that we feel them and think that they are important those things that we are asking and hold on to them. But when we read the prayer of a Kabbalist, a great Kabbalist, it already operates differently upon us, that we want the privilege of him and to rise a bit and incorporate a bit, a state where he is grasped onto the Creator. He soaks up in order to raise up to the Creator who also wants to be in this motion. We read his prayer in order to rise to be in contact with the Creator, all of us together with privilege of his effort and privilege of his spiritual work that I already did and so in privilege, meaning impurity that we attained that we want to receive a bit of Illumination from there and that he should also influence upon us and connect between us and raise us to another degree. And that’s what we want from the reading of such a prayer.
S. We do a preparation for the lesson, would you recommend before the preparation to read this prayer every morning?
R. No, we didn’t read this every morning with Rabash, we would read it a few times a year.
4. S. (19:04) I feel like it’s easier for me to connect to the prayers of the friends in my Ten then to the prayers of the Kabbalists it’s like the language is closer, the feeling, what’s the difference between the prayer as a Ten that we raise and the prayer we read it from the Kabbalists?
R. I don’t know. I didn’t think this prayer is so high and difficult that it would be so distant from us that we cannot incorporate in it in our heart and soul. All in all, he’s speaking in words that are very much understood, he is speaking from the emotions that we can identify in us, I don’t see the difficulty here. Just what you’re saying just awakens a desire to maybe hear it again so that maybe I didn’t hear it enough.
S. I didn’t mean that it’s difficult, it’s just that the prayer and the Ten with the friends feels closer to me that’s at least that’s how I feel?
R. You don’t think this prayer includes everything? So what can the friends add?
S. It includes everything, maybe I hear the prayer of the friends differently through them?
R. Maybe your hearts.
S. Also in the upcoming convention that we’re going to be entering we will put together many prayers in the preparation, in the summary of the lesson and we’ll be putting together prayers raising prayers. How should we connect to the prayer of the friend, the prayer where the friend opens his heart and raises a prayer, how to enter into his prayer and be with him?
R. We need to open our heart in that we shall receive in the heart every and each lack that comes from every friend that wants to incorporate in the general lack the common lack. I’m only happy that we have the opportunity to incorporate together. That’s specifically this incorporation awakens the Creator to incorporate with us. That’s the entire matter of the prayer.
5. S. (22:15) In this prayer it is written that he should forgive us for our crimes and for our transgressions and make our sins into merits, so at first a person rises above all of his transgressions and mistakes and his connections with the friends, yes? Then he inverts it to an opportunity for the revelation of love?
R. We learn that it is so, that first all the transgressions turn into mistakes and then all the mistakes turn into Mitzvot, Commandments that’s the path of Correction. Then at the end of the corrections it turns out that we never did anything bad and we never caused harm to anyone and we never thought or nothing came out from our path that we aren’t worthy to be in the complete adhesion with the Creator. That’s what we reveal in our prayer. Slowly, gradually it forms and stabilizes as such that the Creator ‘There is None Else Besides Him’ and that he passes over us all the states even the very worst and he passes them over us in order that we will understand just how much this state that we go through that it is bad, that it can later and point to us the good state. Because it is always the illumination of the light from the darkness and so how much that we advance more and more to the purpose of creation, the goal of creation. We will reveal more and more how much we are lowly, different.
I hear from many people who come to me and they write to me just how much they see that this study of hours isn’t influencing them, they don’t see themselves that they’re improving to be better. Where is this state that they once had where they had and a good attitude towards the friends, no more it disappeared these days they say they only feel themselves, and that’s how it is. They forget that all these things we need to go through them in the same direction, the same spirit. In this that we advance and what occurs with us and what influences upon us, that happens it happens along the way. It’s not that we even along the road become mingled with all sorts of not so nice and not so good states that these things all come from our evil inclination. It comes in order that we will pass these states, and hate them, and want to invert them to good, correct relations of connection. The path includes in it both nice states. but beforehand, surely there are bad states.
S. Let’s say a person corrected some state as it appeared to him, can it be connected even more next time or is it just one time that we correct that state? Can you reveal more love upon that state?
R. The system is built such that we on the way to the end of correction, go through all the states and we repeat them and all sorts of manners and ways until we truly will correct them together, and all of us will be in one desire, one goal, one heart in the tire entire intensity of our heart and that’s how it will happen. If it must return to be in greater intensity then surely it will be so, we even learned from the Wisdom of Kabbalah but, each and every degree has greater intensity, that there are all actually the same Ten Sefirot that remain the Ten Sefirot.
S. Is there such a state where a person sees and then immediately runs away like fire or does he have to fall?
R. We’re not afraid to fall, and we’re not afraid of anything that we go through along the path because it’s all prepared for us from above that There is None Else Besides Him, that He takes care of us. I have no doubt that what I’m advancing in I am entirely advancing under His providence under His watch and so what is it important what I’m going through? The main thing is that each and every moment I want to hold on, through the friends, I want to hold on to the friends and through them to hold on to the Creator. What I will have out of this all sorts of disturbances, jumps that are forward, back, I accept it as what I need to go through along the way. How would I know what I have from previous reincarnations, what I will have as preparation for tomorrow? I accept all these things as I belong to them.
S. About the speed after all a Kabbalist aquires experience he arises and sees that same sin that he can work with?
R. I don’t worry about speed, I only worry about how each and every moment to be grasped on more to the Creator through the group in the maximal manner, that in all my soul I want to be adhered to the friends and through the friends to the Creator that is in their center, that’s all. We need to be in these inner exercises inside of us all the time and that’s how I will advance. We have a very unique opportunity, a very unique preparation, a unique audience that truly wants to reach adhesion to awareness, to sensation, and not just to some simple wisdom, an intellectual wisdom. We have a very unique opportunity, we need to be in joy from this to make the effort to realize it, to utilize all that comes down on us from above.
6. S. (31:54) It’s very moving what he read here and really feeling his feeling. I’m asking how do we try and feel what he writes, to try to feel what he feels. After all the whole prayer is feeling it’s not technical it’s not you read it like a robot and we’re done that’s it we’re done. How can you try to feel what he feels, after all everything is feelings.
R. All the prayers written by Kabbalists sages of the great parliament, those were truly an adhesion but we want is to make an effort to find that all these words what is more suitable for us, what excites us more and to adhere to it. This prayer is not very long, it’s as a simple request from the heart, very simple, very usual so that we can all join it.
S. For example he writes here, and pass from us all the screens that separate between us and you, after all that’s not like intellect. What does he mean here, move all the screens that separate between us and you?
R. Between us and the Creator there are very many screens.
S. What are these screens?
R. Screens, meaning gates that don’t allow us to get closer to feel, to understand, to grasp, to turn to receive from him.
S. That’s what I exactly wanted to ask you, I was aiming for that when you come to the convention, how do we do that? We come, we assemble, of course we need to feel what we’re coming to do there. How do we truly move from one screen to another from friend to friend what do we need to do? What is our work in the convention?
R. To improve the relations between us that I will feel and not that I want to connect with all these bodies and faces, the friends as I thought of them before but that I want to connect with their lacks, their desires, their yearnings, their goals, that it will all be as one for us.
S. What can an individual thought be so inclusive that we all have to all think about, what should we all think, one thought that unites us all?
R. The one Creator and we can divide in each one for himself or to the group there he’s one for all that as much as we connect we more and more grasp this unity this reality that is called The Creator. That he is the source of all reality and so as much as we connect it’s out of our general connection out of everyone all the created beings, if we will want to turn to Him that would truly be an appeal out of the general will to receive to the general will to bestow.
S. That’s what we see in the prayer it’s like he’s coming to teach us and in this prayer the Wisdom of Kabbalah. Look what he writes, ‘May we see in our Hearts the Greatness of our Friends and not their Faults’. He’s truly teaching us the Wisdom of Kabbalah but he’s also giving us a lesson of what we need to do in that prayer, right?
R. Yes, that is correct. That’s the beauty of the prayer, it is kind of like a prayer and the study.
S. Yes, the beauty of the prayer.
7. S. (36:49) You said just the words that if we today connect in unity between us if I understood correctly, specifically in the convention around the world it’ll be exactly the way the Creator needs to be revealed now, is that what you asked, can you explain that?
R. We today are even before the Congress, the convention didn’t start today right? The convention of self starts tomorrow so we want to prepare ourselves, it’s called the prayer before the prayer, that we simply connect between us and prepare ourselves for a common action. Because from the side of the Creator we are all as one man, we are called human beings so we must incorporate in that same form that’s called Adam, that’s similar to the Creator. Let’s try to do that, as much as we will get closer to it we begin to feel to attain our root, the Creator himself. It’s all before us.
8. S. (38:50) Regards from Africa English and African French, I’m here to represent the congress for this weekend. Concerning the prayer that we just read, it’s such a powerful prayer and such beautiful words. Does this prayer come from a state of assent or a state of descent? How do you get this power for such beautiful words?
R. When a person makes an effort to carry out the connection then in connection all of his qualities that he usually connects to the society, they turn into some a quantity of more or less a flame until he reaches a state that he connects with his friends and that same form like he prepares himself to get closer and connect with the Creator. When he goes through all these changes then it turns out that he already sees that it’s prepared, the place is prepared for him, the world is prepared for him and he’s ready for it. His Incorporation and all that is prepared for him when he enters it, this he calls a convention, an assembly that he truly finds his place where he can be in completion for all the created beings towards the Creator. I’m very happy you’re by us and with us so we don’t see you on the screens rather that you’re here.
9. S. (41:37) What’s the difference between the prayer before a prayer and a regular prayer?
R. A regular prayer means that you’re already praying for something you have lacks and requests that are clear and you are activating them. The prayer before a prayer is that you still need to reveal your lacks without presenting them forward whether to understand first how much you are in lack and weakness, and so the prayer before prayer builds this bridge between you and who you’re praying to.
S. The prayer before prayer is already forming for me or building me towards the Creator?
R. No it’s not already building you towards the Creator it’s not but, there’s already some words here to form the relation in mans’ heart.
S. The prayer before a prayer can be the beginning or the end or only as a prayer before the prayer?
R. It depends on how you receive it. I have no answer for that exactly but the prayer before a prayer of Noam Elimelech here, are such prayers that are very general, very collective and very worthwhile to make use of.
10. S. (43:43) He said that we need to adhere to the sensation of this prayer. What does it mean to adhere to it? How do you feel that when there’s prayer they’re raising it upward?
R. We need to think to incorporate and to read ahead of time some texts maybe, to talk about it to understand it a bit and then we’ll have a bit more of an attitude towards and connection with the text itself and then in this manner we can transition to more deeper emotions.
11. S. (40:40) How do we learn how to give correct gratitude credit to the Creator both in the good and the bad in our lives?
R. From the Creator there cannot ever come that we will feel something bad, from the very smallest things that pass over us until the very greatest. It’s such that we cannot even describe something maybe terrible, it all comes from the Creator surely that ‘There is None Else Besides Him’ and it all comes in order to correct us and bring us closer to the purpose of life. We must accept these things and as many corrections as possible. The corrections of such in general are the changes in our attitude toward what is passing over us or towards whom is passing over us. And here we need to see, we need first of all to be aimed towards ‘There is None Else Besides Him’ after we truly connect as much as we’re capable of according to our degree toward ‘There’s None’ else Besides Him’ and then we need to feel how by us the sensation of what we receive from ‘There is None Else Besides Him’ is changing. Then we can see just how much it is changing from bad to good.
12. S. (46:44) Why is the Creator called the brave and the terrible?
R. Because He is the only force operating in reality which includes within him all of reality and reality cannot do anything outside of this control and the decision of the Creator. The Creator is the reality itself.
13. S. (47:44) How is it even possible that this body that is built of the will to receive and the ego will reach a prayer before a prayer in complete subjugation?
R. No, it can’t be that way, when come to the prayer we go through many actions preparations in ascents, descents all kinds of changes and then when we come to the clarification of the prayer then we’re ready to see the light from the side of darkness and darkness from the side of light which is how we begin to come closer to the Creator in a more complete and whole manner. This is what happens with us.
14. S. (48:40) This deep and emotional prayer that brings us to change our relations with the Creator such that he will change his relation towards us from judgment to mercy as he writes there, the merciful Creator?
R. Repeat.
S. If this prayer causes the Creator to change his relation towards us from judgment to mercy how the Prayer before the Prayer that we read could change us from judgment to mercy?
R. The changes take place in us, it’s not that we want to awaken some change upon us. He is the Good that does Good to the good and to the evil and to all in everything and always, but when we operate our prayer and all kinds of efforts and exercises, by this we change ourselves. Therefore we start to see Him as the merciful and gracious Creator and all the other qualities we talk about here, the Good that does Good in short. On behalf of the Creator there’s no change only on the side of the created beings therefore all of our work is how we will change ourselves according to how the Creator shows us all kinds of flaws in our states, in that He wants us to change ourselves and come to the corrected state of form.
15. S. (51:12) When a person prays for his friend, can he know that his prayer is accepted and received?
R. He doesn’t get some note or telegram that his prayer was received or not, but rather according to his inner qualities that change he can understand the extent to which this impacts him and how he changes.
16. S. (52:00) He says there are a few bad qualities, if I understand correctly, that we need to ask of Him to guard us from them and to draw us forward. Let’s say he says there’s a bad quality called jealousy and the solution is to see the greatness of the friends. The bad thing would be the revelation of the jealousy and the solution would be specifically the greatness of the friends. He doesn’t specifically say something here good things against let’s say against anger or gossip, and I don’t understand exactly what’s the opposite to them. Let’s say I feel anger towards the friends, what am I supposed to ask for? A heartfelt feeling towards them? If I feel I’m being strict with the friends one am I supposed to ask for?
R. We don’t quite have the words and scrutinizing the good things with the bad things so we have to look.
S. The request is always to change the state like I reveal a bad quality toward the friends and I ask him to change it?
R. Yes, let’s say.
S. I’m trying to scrutinize here, let’s say I’m trying to change my attitude toward the friend, that I’m asking the Creator to help me or I’m asking the Creator to help me and then I change my attitude. I hope it’s clear.
R. I don’t demand anything from the Creator, I demand myself to change and each time to bring myself to a state in which I am in a world that is all good.
S. Meaning that in my eyes I look at the Ten and I see all good?
R. Also in the Ten also in the world.
S. The entire reality?
R. Also in all of reality.
S. Meaning the revelation of the bad things is specifically for progress and to show me how to improve and where I need to advance?
R. Yes.
17. S. (55:09) You tell us many examples of how the prayers about how to pray about how to aim themselves an hour and correctly prepare themselves. What are the stages for calibrating ourselves toward prayer, how can we as a Ten prepare ourselves correctly before them?
R. We will get to this at one point and use it, meanwhile we are not associated with it whatsoever. We cannot yet discover in us all the qualities that will give us possibilities to that extent to work with these qualities. It will come.
S. Even in the simplest manner we write a prayer before the lesson and after the lesson and we don’t want it to be just some mechanical thing that we do out of ,just to say a few words. Rather we truly come from some common heart, how to prepare toward this even in a simple way?
R. That’s from your feeling we learned that there needs to be a common feeling as much as possible where one will help his friend, that we will come to a state in which each understands that he’s incorporated in everyone and we all depend on one another. Then we must come to states of all being including together and wanting in this togetherness to incorporate in one Creator. That now we need to come to a state in which we are all wanting to come like a drop of semen to enter the womb and to start there to develop. The Creator the upper forces of bestowal will start to bestow upon us and develop us such that we will begin to feel them more and more and advance this way. From one side to another more and more just like from a drop of semen the development of an embryo begins.
18. S. (58:39) From above, should some forces come that make us able to pray and which kind of forces are they?
R. I can’t say although all the forces come from above and enable us to pray.
S. What prayers help raise him from below?
R. It’s under the condition that I bring upon myself and him as None Else Besides Him and accordingly I turn to that line and demand from Him to explain, to help me help me, digest the question, understand it correctly and present it correctly to all my 613 desires. I will be able to open them and understand where they come from, why they come for what goal and from that an answer comes. That’s under the condition that we understood the question.
19. S. (01:01:14) How do we create a vacuum among us in our desires that pulls us to our connection and closer to the Creator? Is it by ascending the contradiction between Hissaron and the greatness of the Creator?
R. Yes, in this we teach slowly slowly gradually in the process.
20. S. (01:02:00) From essential or in the matter of intensity from our connection between us and the Creator, is there a difference between the prayer before a prayer and the prayer itself?
R. Well seemingly we then intend it to become a prayer, but a prayer before a prayer is like you are arranging, it’s like you’re tuning a musical instrument. You have to go through all the strings to be connected in the right relationship between them and otherwise you won’t be able to operate them, to play on them. That’s why we can see, according to the appearance, musicians check each and every string.
S. But in terms of the connection with the Creator, meaning the example of the instrument explains something but in terms of the intensity or quality and essence of the connection with the Creator, is there a difference between the prayers?
R. No. If we actually enter into that then the violin itself doesn’t do anything. It’s just a pipeline and the whole heart of the person that plays, enters into this pipe and comes to the Creator this way.
S. This bridge between this inanimate thing and the Creator?
R. The connection between the heart and the Creator moves through these sounds that come from the inanimate object.
21. S. (01:04:07) We learned that jealousy is obligatory to preserve our progress in spirituality but here he’s asking the Creator to remove our jealousy towards others. How are we suppose to use jealousy correctly in our work?
R. We need to discover the envy as it is written, envy, lust and honor bring a person out of this world and later as we overcome it, we are above that. Then we can already continue onwards. But without envy, it is impossible. Only envy from our desire to receive, the sense of feeling the other?, is only envy. When I look at someone, I only see a difference between me and him only through the force of envy. That’s it. That is how it happens. It is a very important sense. Otherwise, we would not identify anything around us.
22. S. (01:06:10) Why is this a prayer that precedes a prayer? It seems like he is asking everything here from all directions and wrapping everything?
R. He wants in general to connect the lower vessel to the upper one in order to enter into a mutual connection. I for my beloved and my beloved for me.
S. What is the next step that brings it to be an actual prayer? If this is a prayer that precedes a prayer what makes it into an actual prayer?
R. It becomes a prayer after, when it is clear to you that if you are in connection with him and he has a good desire that you can ask him for something and he is expecting it from you and that there are certain kinds of relations which are called before the prayer at which point you enter the prayer itself. So why did you come? What do you want from me? What are you hoping to receive, and so on.
S. Something changes in the words in the direction of the heart?
R. Of course it changes. Because prayer before a prayer is just to recognize that I’m before someone who can answer me, that I can enter into a dialogue, it’s not yet connection.
S. A moment before a big convention, we see many friends going through many states, some very difficult, some very good. Truly very extreme. How do the Tens of the friends supposed to react to their states that they are going through?
R. Tens need to be ready to give each and every friend a free state to turn himself in any direction from the center of his Ten.
S. The Ten has a way to hope that the same friend keeps that same adhesion so he won’t be thrown out?
R. Yes that is something that we seemingly did before the convention and now during the convention we just need to uphold the connection between us. No I won’t let you ask today until the end of the convention, until the end of convention.
23. S. (01:09:16) I feel that the prayer before a prayer we know the preparation is very important and we’ve been preparing ourselves for the past month for this convention. This prayer is truly at the right time before the convention. I’m asking to know, like he is giving us a warning that we will not have pointless thoughts. What is that before prayer?
R. That while we’re asking, we are already in the prayer that we will not have disqualified thoughts, because usually when we come to pray many faulty thoughts come our way.
S. Can you give an example of what these disqualified thoughts are?
R. I don’t know. I once saw on TV a big beautiful bon bon and now all of a sudden I’m thinking about it. It’s not in place, it’s not in its time, it’s not in the right place and time.
S. So meaning we need to come to the prayer truly focus through connection and uniting our forces in complete concentration on the prayer to the Creator?
R. Yes.
24. S. (01:11:09) This prayer is very powerful prayer and I have prayed this prayer many times. I’ve typed it up and gifted it as a gift to UK friends as well because we have read this prayer, but what is it in this prayer that pulls you towards the Creator? Because I find that no matter whether this prayer is in Hebrew or English, it just pulls my heart towards the Creator.
R. It has the upper force more than usual. Each and every prayer has a special force. That’s it.
25. S. (01:12:16) He writes that he wants the Creator to forgive us for making flaws in his Torah and work, what is the flaw?
R. That they didn’t want to use the upper force, the Torah, from the word Ohr, light, so they didn’t want to use this light in order to correct ourselves and bring ourselves closer to the general source, which is called the Creator.
26. S. (01:13:05) Before that we build a prayer for a connection in the Ten, but if along with that each one of the friends understands the word connection differently in his manner and his perception. Despite all these years that we’re learning, still each one has their own personal and egoistic understanding of this term connection. I want to ask today what is love? I wanted to ask yesterday, what is connection? How do we feel it so that afterwards we turn it into prayer, not that each one gives it a different meaning.
R. We don’t know what true connection is. True connection is a connection between all our desires and thoughts, our yearnings. So much so, that only one desire emerges from that. That’s what we call connection. There are no men and women there, elder, and youth. There is just desire that the souls already, not bodies, connect together and yearn for their source from the Creator. That’s what we need to take into account, that is what we should yearn for. And all the rest you will feel in your heart.
27. S. (01:15:38) A person who has succeeded in entering a state of a prayer before a prayer, what is his next action? What’s his next sensation? In order that he will be able to connect a state to his next state?
R. He wants to discover his desire to reveal the Creator in the connection between everyone and in this common desire he wants to reveal the Creator.
S. The main thing is to reach the sensation that all the hearts are connected? And that suddenly if I see this action, it is a lie that is within me?
R. That’s it? No more questions?
S. How can I say that if I enter this prayer before a prayer that I’m revealing that all our hearts are connected? And if I suddenly feel some lack in our connection, it’s a lie?
R. Yes one.
28. S. (01:17:26) Can you hear me? Thank you. I am asking a question for a friend. We talked on the roof about a month ago and I wait to ask at a time when it is beneficial. Should a person see himself as the worst? How does that work?
R. We are after the shattering, we are all completely not corrected but the way a person is shown how to see, it’s a little more and a little more. Just like how we teach the children, like a baby. We show them this you have to do, this you should do, do that. Gradually slowly, slowly we teach them this way, how to correct his state, his environment and this is how he’s incorporated in life. And it is this way in spirituality. We need to arrange the environment and in this environment, we bring as many as possible, forces of bestowal, of connection, of love. And then gradually, this environment becomes more spiritual. And that’s how we will rise above it.
S. I heard that the ascent is always in this that we concede in what we had, annul our forces and we want to clothe in higher degrees. How do I identify in what exactly to concede in the current degree?
R. What will be for the sake of the friends? I need that. That is what we will develop. What is to my benefit, either I don’t touch upon this, leave it to the end or all together don’t want to care for them and this because this only touches me. Meaning first I need to arrange things that come for the benefit of the society. And let’s hope that especially during our convention, we will all work with our feelings and our intentions this way. What is good for the totality of the society?
29. S. (01:20:01) What is the most important thing that each friend should bring to the Ten so that the Ten can collectively raise that prayer to the Creator?
R. Example for connection. Example for connection, that’s what we need to bring. One for his friend in such a way that each will incorporate in this and will want to implement himself this way.
30. S. (01:21:59) No translation.
R. The Creator is willing to help us even before we ask. We just need our request so that we will feel the extent in which we can be in mutual understanding towards one another.
31. S. (01:22:43) Is the difference between the prayer that precedes a prayer and the prayer itself like the difference between double and single concealment?
R. Gradation is similar but it’s not the same, a graduation of sorts.
32. S. (01:23:34) I heard you say that the Ten needs to be prepared in order to give each and every friend a state to be free, to turn himself in each direction from the center of his Ten?
R. Yes.
S. What does it mean that the Ten needs to give each and every friend such a free state so that he can go in each and every direction?
R. In each direction from his own Ten, that’s the main thing. That each is aimed towards the center of his Ten, towards his group Ten. That we constantly need to be aimed that way and to know by what we are turning ourselves this way.
33. S. (01:24:28) If a friend sees a flaw in another friend, what should the prayer be?
R. Again.
S. If a friend sees a flaw in another friend, what should the prayer be?
R. The prayer first of all needs to be to see the truth whether I see this thing and it’s truly happening and it’s real. Where I see a flaw and a friend, I don’t want to see a flaw and a friend. But if I see that it’s a flaw in me or truly a flaw in the friend. So I can pray for seeing the flaw and I can pray for the friend who made this blemish who made this flaw. Yes? How do I choose the way? I don’t choose anything. I need to present it before the society and how does the society accept it? That’s how I need to connect and participate. Is that not clear? You’re looking at me, well who is going to ask a question?
S. The second part is not clear about the connection to the society.
R. The first part?
S. The first part that I clarified is that it’s a flaw in me and my observation or in my friend that I need to help him? The second part is that I need to help the friend if the flaws in him, you say that we need to turn to the society in order to work through the society? That part was less clear.
R. How did you do it?
S. How exactly do we help the friend? What to do if it’s an appeal to the Creator? Maybe appeal personally to the friend?
R. Maybe it doesn’t depend on the friend, but rather how I perceive them? Meaning there is a work in scrutiny and work in correction.
34. S. (01:27:32) A continuation of the friend’s scrutiny, do I need to scrutinize it within myself or is this a scrutiny in the Ten?
R. No, the scrutiny is always in the Ten.
S. Meaning in the Ten, it’s a circle not the Ten inside me?
R. What do you mean in a circle where we sit and discuss? You can do it like that, you can do it without sitting like in kindergarten and scrutinizing. You can do either way.
