Part 1:

Baal HaSulam. The Arvut [Mutual Guarantee]. #23

1.Rav’s Introduction: (00:36) Yes, so we are continuing that same article, the article The Arvut (Mutual Responsibility), which Baal HaSulam placed at the beginning of all of our actions. Because without connection between us, without the struggle for connection between us, we will not feel the structure of the spiritual vessel. And therefore, the struggle for mutual responsibility, the pressure that we will all receive together, connect around it, this is the main thing for us. In other words the work, the effort, is the most important. Where we all yearn for a state of Arvut, of mutual responsibility. Please go ahead.

Reading Item 23 (01:47) “With these words, we clearly understand..”

2. R. (05:48) Yes, that was for a while in history and then they became disintegrated again because they had to expand this knowledge for everyone and they gave it in all kinds of ways to all the nations of the world. And from this they obtained a certain special relation from all the nations towards them, great anti-Semitism, great hatred, which is actually what is holding them and what eventually brings them to understand how to come out of the imbalance in the relationship between them and the others. And this is how we need to understand what is the role of all the nations against connection and how much we need to patiently, by ourselves, correct ourselves. But, mainly it is in our relation to others, to all the other nations to the point they understand that their hatred towards us stems from the quality of Arvut, of mutual responsibility, that exists in this group as opposed to the rest of the nations.

3. S. (08:03) It says here that there are two pre-conditions to being able to receive the Torah, one is the enslavement and suffering in Egypt, and two is the purity of their forefathers. So how can we identify these two conditions in our case?

R. No, in our case I don’t think we need to identify. Of course we need to try to get closer to them but it’s not like it’s a condition for us right now because we are already in a different situation. We are at the time of connection, a very specific one where instead of being close to each other we feel that we are close because we are hated by those around us and this is why we need each other, only. And, this basically is until we understand that only by disseminating the method of connection we can explain, we will be able to explain to all the nations that we will still all have to connect, that it’s coming to us from the Upper Force, and this is how we all rise to the Creator Himself. And, “My house shall be called a house of prayer to all the nations.”

S. So for us the condition is just the labor and our effort in connection?

R. Yes, yes. Our tendency, our direction, is to connection and also to disseminate, to circulate, this condition, this situation, to all the nations so then they will understand what we are actually doing and what we recommend to everyone. As it is written, “to be a light to the nations.” So, to be a path of development for all the nations.

4. S. (11:08) Israel went through the exile of Egypt to receive the Torah. Does the human race also need to go through a similar process to receive the Torah?

R. No, there is no need. Once a certain group in our world discovers the essence of life, the purpose of life, there is no need whatsoever for everyone to discover it in this way. Because, it is already in humanity and humanity needs only to begin to understand what it’s about. It is about a method, a method of connection, among everyone. Until we come to a state where in the connection between us we become closer to the Creator, until He shines on us to the extent of the connection between us, and in this way we will also be able to connect with Him. And, by this the world returns to correction.

S. From Whom does Israel receive the Torah?

R. Israel receives the Torah from the Creator, from the Upper Force.

S. And why does the world have to receive it from Israel and not from the Upper Force?

R. There has to be some conduit, some passageway, but nothing more than that. He writes that by that they became a passageway.

S. If the purpose of creation rests on the shoulders of the whole human race, why does the world resist and doesn’t receive the method from Israel?

R . We ourselves resist it, not only the world, we too resist the reception of the Torah. It talks about how, instead of myself, I have to love everyone else. How can that be? I have no preparations for it, no records, no inclination toward it. I don’t choose between the two – love of self and love of others. I don’t choose between them. I simply can’t stand love of others.

S. So what will bring the world and Israel to receive the Torah, the method?

R. You can say that the Creator is preparing for us all kinds of steps ahead of us and in the end we will want to receive the Torah, which is the method of connection. It’s the method of connection up to love. There is nothing here that can be taken out of it, erased, reversed in some way. Rather, we have to understand that the world is still moving toward it. And, we who do not want to be the leading part, the example, by this we are only causing all the troubles, and as a result of it they are developing hatred towards us.

5. S. (15:08) We have to explain to them that within Israel there is a quality of Arvut?

R. It exists. Meaning, we can reveal it, develop it, and live in it.

S. And then they’ll want to get closer to us because it exists within Israel?

R. I don’t think so. All those things that are contradictory to us, much less to the nations of the world, will not attract, will not bring the nations of the world closer to that method. Rather, gradually we have to do it specifically with all of humanity. We were already in it, we fell from it, we have the records from it, but in order to realize it correctly in the last generation, we have to draw all the people of the world as much as we can to us and together with them keep the Arvut, the mutual responsibility, the education, the mutuality, and then they will understand that this is really everyone’s future.

S. So there’s a process here that we have to go through together with them.

R. Yes.

6. S. (17:18) You said that the Arvut that there is in the people of Israel is the reason for the hatred of the nations?

R. We don’t really have mutual responsibility from us. There is mutual responsibility that is like a law of nature that comes to us from above, that we are obligated to be connected to each other and develop between us such connections that will be an example of being “as one man with one heart.”

S. And what about it causes hatred of the nations?

R. Because, it’s the opposite from their nature.

S. So they hate it because it’s opposite to nature?

R. Yes.

S. And not because there is some envy?

R. No, they don’t envy us because they don’t see mutual responsibilities as a good thing. Even between us, what kind of mutual responsibility do we have? We are close only because of our suffering, brothers in our affliction, as Baal HaSulam writes. So we still don’t have the right mutual responsibility.

S. And, also the hatred is not related to the fact that we have to pass something onto them and they feel like we are not doing it?

R. We feel that we are different from the nations of the world and the nations of the world feel very much that we are different from them, on every level, and in every quality.

S. And, the passage of the light that has to come to them through us, is that not a source of hatred because they don’t receive the light?

R. There is something to it but they still accuse us of causing all the bad in the world. But, these things are not so central in their complaints and their grievances.

7. S. (19:57) You said that we ourselves resist the reception of the Torah. How can we avoid this resistance?

R. What would we get from receiving the Torah? The nature between us will change so that we will begin to see ourselves as brothers, as close, as existing in one body? It’s still not burning in us. That desire is still not within us as a revealed desire.

8. S. (20:51) Should we purify our vessels of reception before we become a light unto others? How can we disseminate before this purification?

R. We will try as Rabash and others write for us, we have to try. First of all, we have to begin with ourselves, and then gradually people who are close in their root of their soul will also come, because we’re all from Adam HaRishon, from one soul. And in this way we will discover more and more people who understand, hear, feel, come closer, move further. They’re in all kinds of forms of connection with the connection of the hearts, because this is really the whole of the wisdom of Kabbalah, connection of the hearts. This is how it will happen, it will take time but it can also happen very quickly.

9. S. (22:22) Is it worthwhile to think and talk about it in such a way inside the ten that we’re working to connect because it’s for the benefit of the world and the world’s progress?

R. We have to spread the material as much as possible and talk about it as much as we can. We have nothing to hide from others because we are already in the final stage of the correction of the world, although it’s not a short phase, it might take a long time. We have come to a state where we have to explain to the world that connection of all the people of the world is the purpose of nature and it will not help us, how should I put it, to avoid it, to run away from it, to abandon it. By this we are only prolonging the time of the exile. This is why, in every way we can, we should try to succeed in disseminating the message. Along with it humanity will understand that from it everything that is happening, that it’s experiencing, all of humanity, it will also understand that it has no choice, that what we recommend is really the salvation for all of the human race.

S. When we discuss between us in the ten and we say now we’re aiming to connect, should we say something like we’re now going for a connection because the world needs it? Because we need to prepare some positive example that will happen in the world?

R. First of all we have to be connected among ourselves, “as one man with one heart,” as a center, as a nucleus around which there will also be the connection of the entire human race. This is on the one hand. On the other hand, we have to explain as broadly as possible that all the troubles of the world will not stop, will not end, except through connection. Because, through connection we will truly be able to put them out – that hatred, rejection, remoteness among the nations.

10. S. (25:46) I heard you say that we have to correct ourselves in relation to others. What kind of attitude do we need to have towards others?

R. We need love. We need love, connection above all the differences, above all the contradictions. We have nothing else besides this, this is the goal, to be, “as one man with one heart.” What else?

11. S. (26:25) He talks about great and horrible suffering. It says, “as salt sweetens meat, agony polishes man’s torments as they bring great purification.” What suffering is he talking about that brings purification to the body?

R. Any suffering, even those we don’t consider suffering.

S. Bodily suffering?

R. Bodily, physical, emotional, anything. We didn’t read it, but it’s written what kind of suffering there could be if we don’t take the final steps toward connection where huge forces are revealed both from the good side and from the bad side.

S. How do you make sure that bodily suffering doesn’t push us away from the spiritual path?

R. No, no, they won’t push us, they won’t distance us. There’s no time and place for them to push us away from the path of correction. On the contrary, if not by getting closer that we implement then the suffering will do it.

S. I’m asking because there is an article of Rabash where he says that the saboteur is in the flood and he explains that it’s within the physical suffering. So, if such a state exists in a friend, what can you do?

R. Example. Take him together with you and continue to rise. There’s nothing you can do. All the ascents are through connection. The more we connect, this is regarded as an ascent, as rising.

12. S. (28:51) In light of the situation yesterday, I experienced a state that is not so simple. We are part of this nation and yesterday I saw people with flags, people who are willing to stab anyone with that flag if they think differently from them. And we’re part of that nation. I wanted to ask, what do you call the Israeli nation? What is it? Baal HaSulam describes a state that is complete and we are part of that nation too, it seems. But, in terms of the correction it seems like this nation will come in last to the correction. Do you understand what I’m saying?

R. Yes, I understand what you’re saying and there’s something to it but we still have to do. We still don’t understand this process, but this is how it will happen. This is how it will happen. Let history, let the forces of nature do their thing, and we will become integrated in them, and we will be the first to feel what the Creator or nature wants from us.

13. S. (30:43) We learn that the actions in the Rosh cause the expansion of the light into the Guf. My question is how can we resemble the Rosh?

R. If we keep ourselves together, all of us, and as much as we can direct ourselves toward the Creator, that’s it.

14. S. (31:20) This connection that we have to show as an example to the world. What is that example?

R. It is the form of connection that we have to show to all of humanity. Although we disagree, we’re not similar, we’re distant in all kinds of ways from each other, we rise above all the differences between us and want only one thing – to be connected. This is the only work, the only purpose, that will be revealed between us. This is what we want to reveal. Connection above all the differences. Moreover, the more we hide the differences within us, we use them like necessary coarseness, the opposite form of connection, and in this way we build a group that is suitable for connection.

S. Practically, we do the work in the ten between us every day. Will the world have to understand it theoretically or they too will have some tens?

R. They too will have to work on it practically.

S. We’re going to have to give the world the method of the tens?

R. They will understand it. They will understand it from our work. It will be an internal connection between everyone.

15. S. (34:08) How can we create this passageway of Arvut between us to the whole, which is controlled today by religions, and religions claim that they give the truth. How can we break this umbilical cord of religions?

R. We are not going against anything that exists in the world, in nations, in groups. We don’t disqualify any religion, or faith, whatsoever. We speak only about one thing – connection among everyone. This is what nature, time, everything that is revealed, obligates us to do. And, as Baal HaSulam writes, every nation can remain in its religion. We aren’t ending it’s faith. We are only adding one thing – connection between us. So, it’s not against any religion. It doesn’t oppose any method.

16. S. (35:41) To always be in Arvut, we have to overcome the hatred. Will we always feel in the depth of our heart this feeling of rejection, or a day will come and we will just melt into pure love?

R. Yes, we have to come closer to it, to incorporation, to the point of pure love.

17. S. (36:28) What’s the meaning of the word nation? What does it include within?

R. A nation is a group of people with a psychology, ideology, and approach that is uniform in the perception of reality. They are also differences between them in this, but still there’s a big difference from other nations. Just like every person is different from the other, likewise groups of people which are called nations are different from the others. Why? Because we bring all of the big will to receive that the Creator created, to bring it to a state where it exists in two contradictory states. On the one hand, it will be completely, completely, dispersed and totally broken. And on the other hand, it also needs to be above it, connected and uniform. And, the gap between these two states will reveal to us the whole message that the Creator wants to give to us.

18. S. (38:31) What is the meaning of the expression, “For My house shall be called a house of prayer to all the nations.”

R. This expression that “For my house shall be called a house of prayer to all the nations,” means that the house of the Creator is that Malchut that comes to Bina and comes to Keter and everyone assembles in her, and this is called the house of the Lord, the house of the Creator. So, in the end all the created beings, all of nature, must unite and reach that level, that height. Reach the concept of One.

19. S. (39:50) The Arvut, mutual responsibility, is it also a necessity, or is this everyone’s concern for himself?

R. No, we will have to come to Arvut, to connection, to a just division among everyone, among everyone. But, it will be easy as a result of the internal correction.

20. S. (40:40) You once gave a good example with the microwave. How people invented the microwave, all kinds of very, very complicated systems and then this little child of four or five years old, he just pressed here and the whole system works beautifully and simply. Is this how we want internally to create the mutual responsibility between us and reveal something new to the world? And, they will only have to press that little button so as to use this system.

R. No. I think everyone will have to understand, feel, and know the internality of the things. And, only in this way will they come to understand the essence of the correction.

S. Because I heard you say yesterday, if I’m not mistaken, that the world would not have to go through the exodus from Egypt, through all those processes.

R. Yes.

S. So how can we reach bestowal of others without going through internal exodus from Egypt?

R. We will understand it. We will understand it without going through this process of many years and states. We will do it quickly.

S. Will we do it quickly?

R. It’s always like that. When we study history we don’t experience all of the stages. We understand it because we are already developed.

S. Can we say that in the connection, in this mutual responsibility, we’ll discover what is really the answer to how to disseminate the light to the rest of the world further?

R. Yes, we will feel it within nature.

S. Yes, the answer will come from the general ten?

R. Yes.

S. So this is our prayer, for the Creator to give us our answer within us?

R. Yes.

21. S. (43:10) To realize the Arvut, the connection, he says there is a preceding force here that we received. What is that preceding force that we receive?

R. I’m not sure what you’re asking about.

S. He says except for the Israeli nation, because they had this force, what is that force?

R. It’s the root of the soul. There are people who have within them an inclination to connection, a closeness to such desires and states that these desires go through. That they understand more, feel more, they’re in it and some are less so. It’s like having a ball, some are more at the center, some are more on the periphery. But it’s not important. It’s only for the period of corrections. But in the end, afterwards, we’ll all be, “as one man with one heart.” We come to a state where everyone is equal, and it doesn’t matter what path each of us went through.

22. S. (44:53) I might have misheard you, but Baal HaSulam wrote that we have to build Arvut in response to the hatred from the nations. Is there a difference in the result if we run away from enemies or if we perform our actions in order to bring them love? Is there a difference?

R. There are many differences in how we carry out the Arvut, the mutual responsibility. As long as we feel that everyone wants to reach some sort of a center, where everyone is incorporated in one another, without any differences.

S. My question is not exactly about how, but why. Is there a difference in the result through our intention to do everything ahead of time, in advance?

R. We want to carry out our intention to be, “as one man with one heart,” so there will be no differences between us, so we will not feel that we are different at all. And, then when we feel this way, that we want to be not different, but incorporated in each other, it’s as if you are throwing, mixing several drinks together. So, just think of what happens to them there. So this is how we want to mingle and merge among ourselves.

S. My movement in my ear is I heard hatred from other people instead of difference, sorry.

R. Okay.

23. S. (47:34) I have a question about being a passageway. Is it enough that we’re doing the work in connection between us to be a passageway, or do we have to have some pressure from the nations of the world, some push from them, or something?

R. Of course we need it. If we don’t manage to connect, and push ourselves, and pull them with us towards correction. Then they speed up the process by pressuring us, and then we feel how much we are under pressure, and in difficult states.

S. And we need to feel this pressure in order to become a passageway. Is it not enough just to work in connection between us? Do we not need the pressure?

R. We obviously are not capable of achieving connection with just our independent work.

S. Do we reach a point where we become a passageway, or do we have to build it every time anew?

R. We have to look into that and see.

Reading Item 24 (49:17) “Thus, because of the above necessity,..” Twice.

24. S. (52:52) In the excerpt he spoke about love of others, now I wanted to ask about love of others. This evening there will be an important event, a unity night, a unity event. In this event, in such events, we manage to come to very powerful feelings of connection between us. I wanted to ask about this feeling. I don’t know what to call it – love, mutual responsibility. What is this feeling that becomes similar in everyone and very powerful?

R. That’s because we begin to somewhat feel what connection is and the result of it.

S. Now in such an evening there is a phenomenon when you come, and sometimes without much effort, you simply come to that evening and you feel that it is something very powerful and you didn’t really prepare yourself, you didn’t do anything. What is this thing, how do we receive it?

R. You become incorporated in the general spirit. It happens in any society you go into. Especially in a society that you are familiar with, and they are familiar with you, and there is no problem becoming incorporated.

S. So you are saying is this feeling a little bit of the sensation of mutual responsibility?

R. There is something to it, yes.

25. S. (54:42) What are the sparks of purification Baal HaSulam talks about here? What is this about?

R. That by connection we begin to receive from each other such impressions that build in them new discernments of connection, of participation.

S. Is it something that happened in history, or is it only happening now?

R. It is happening every time that we do it.

S. I’m talking about Israel, the nation, all those sparks that have already passed at a certain level and only-

R. All these things happen and pass and either we identify them or we don’t. And, then they appear, but it always happens. It is always taking place.

S. And living in, “love your friend as yourself,” does this happen only at the moment of reception of the Torah, or in the Israeli nation is it constantly living in some way?

R. “Love thy friend as thyself,” exists to the extent that we pressure, that we demand, that we want to carry out this rule. And, this depends on the pressure of the lower ones here.

S. Because, it seems like this idea of, “love your friends, or love your neighbor as yourself,” did permeate the world, entered the world in different ways, but I don’t see that the world is being refined or purified by that. It’s going through processes, but not in the direction of-

R. The world still doesn’t accept it in a clear way, but it is ready to understand, to feel, and somewhat even actualize. It is getting closer to it.

26. S. (57:22) What does he mean that we have to leave humanity to understand the pleasantness and tranquility in the nucleus, the kernel, of love of others? It sounds like we should bring them to a feeling of bestowing in order to receive. How do you bring a person, much less humanity, who doesn’t do any work on themselves. But our work is done on the outside, and they gradually bring it to a state where they love others. How can this be? What is this thing, this process?

R. Well let’s all think about it. Why can’t this be?

S. To me, it’s completely unclear. How all of humanity, who doesn’t do any work by itself, but only goes through a path of suffering?

R. But in the meantime, it’s added. Because, all these impressions are collected in humanity.

S. Yes, and there is this group that passes to it sparks of purity. That is also not clear. And, gradually they come to love others. And, then more they understand it, and bring themselves under his burden, it’s a kind of a…

R. What’s not clear?

27. S. (59:08) We came from searching for the meaning of life. And, after we came to the wisdom of Kabbalah, we were told that we have to go through, “loving others as yourself.” Where he says here that Israel passed to the world their sparks until they understand what pleasantness and tranquility there is in love of others. It is as if we’re opening some sort of club with cocktails on the beach, and everyone is having fun, and we are inviting everyone to join our club. They are not thinking about the purpose of life, his burden, all kinds of concepts, they don’t deal with it. It’s as if we’re inviting them into the will to receive, to feel what pleasantness there is here, what tranquility we have in the club. Is this how it will happen?

R. Why not?

S. Because, it sounds the opposite. It sounds like the will to receive still dominates there, still governs?

R. I don’t really understand, what state are you talking about right now?

S. About how this message of, “love your neighbor as yourself,” how it will come under the law of the Creator. According to what is written here, the world will understand it by understanding the pleasantness and tranquility there is in the loving of others. It sounds like we are enticing them, so they will understand?

R. Through the will to receive?

S. Yes, but really through the will to receive.

R. That, it’s worthwhile for me basically to, “love of others,” I will be rid of all troubles?

S. Yes, forget about chasing money, and fighting disease, and arguments. We’re inviting you to a different club. Come join our club.

R. Yes.

S. You’ll be happy. Here’s your chair. What kind of correction is it?

R. That’s a correction in the meantime. In the meantime, they’re still drawn to it as all of us are initially drawn to bestowal, because we will be better off there. We will escape the suffering.

S. And, then afterwards he says they will bring themselves under his burden. What is that stage?

R. That we will receive the actions of, “in order to bestow,” as something that is desired by the Creator.

S. The general public will also understand it?

R. Yes.

S. How will they understand it? So, through the will to receive they will understand there is a Creator?

R. Because by that, they move away from suffering.

S. So, because in their gut they will feel good, they will begin to understand that there’s this upper force that brought them this good feeling in their guts, and they will say we’re willing to surrender to it?

R. Yes.

S. It’s the opposite.

R. What do you want from the public?

S. No, I’m just saying, Israel achieves correction in one way and it sounds like the general public gets to it through the back door?

R. Yes, but from Lo Lishma one comes to Lishma.

28. S. (01:02:50) What the previous friend says, it reminds me of Israel being the head. In other words, first it has to happen in the head, and then it has to spread to the rest of the body. But, here comes the question. Whenever we talk about dissemination, it’s always in the back of my mind, bugging me, all these future generations that are coming down now. And, let’s hope that they enjoy the work that we’re doing. But do you think that additional passageways, ways, maybe languages, terminologies, that are more suitable for what is about to happen?

R. I don’t think that they’ll need to discover some new forms of the wisdom of Kabbalah, of studying it, no.

S. It will be possible to speak in qualities, that the messages themselves, when they live in us, they will be able to spread by themselves. We won’t need many physical actions. It will just go through these pipelines.

R. Yes, yes. Everything is well said.

29. S. (01:04:36) You said we have to mix ourselves in the cup?

R. What did I say?

S. You said, it’s like several drinks mixed together in a glass. But, we know that oil and water don’t mix. So, likewise, there are friends that we can get closer to, and with some friends it’s harder to connect. So, what do you do in that state?

R. You wait, don’t push. What the mind doesn’t do, time will. They probably will need more and more circles, circling around until they connect.

S. But, you’re saying time helps?

R. Yes, meaning it doesn’t depend on the person, but it depends on how the inner systems connect and make room for this to happen.

30. S. (01:05:52) There are thousands of people watching us worldwide, so they want to ask on behalf of those people. That for a person who doesn’t have a Ten watching this lesson, what state should they be in, in order to best connect to us?

R. He needs to also have a ten. And, in the ten he wants to be in mutual connection with them, to all of them, and the more connection between them there is, the more he will try to understand what lies within the words, within the text, that we read.

S. They should come and study with us?

R. Yes.

S. And, what aim should we have to connect to this group, these special types of people, who are watching it from outside?

R. So, what is the question? How will they come closer?

S. With what intention do we have to come closer to them?

R. We are open to everyone. We explain to everyone on different levels. If questions awakened we have to, we have to answer them, to everyone, doesn’t matter to us who’s asking. And, so that’s how it should happen. I am not really, I don’t know, that what’s important is to disseminate, to disseminate what we know, the wisdom of Kabbalah, knowledge of the Creator, to spread that among all nations.

31. S. (01:08:45) Is this suffering of the world only in order to pressure Israel? Or, does it also do as Baal HaSulam writes, that they cleanse a person’s inequities, the suffering of the world.

R. Yes, both this and that.

32. S. (01:09:20) What are the sparks of purification?

R. Sparks of purification are that the ego, further and further, makes concessions for the sake of the force of bestowal.

S. How do we, as tens, convey and pass sparks of purification?

R. We work within the great collective vessel of Adam HaRishon, that’s all humanity, and to the extent that we activate ourselves it nevertheless influences everyone.

S. And, through us people gradually begin to feel that it’s worthwhile to relinquish the…

R. Yes, yes.

33. S. (01:10:16) I think the closest thing to it that we can understand is when we do some unity event, or some meeting, some big convention, and we invite guests. They don’t understand what inspires them. I remember with my family, friends who come, they don’t understand what it is, but they say, “man you guys are good people.” They think we are good people, right? You’re doing something so organized, so well, there’s so much love in this place, and there is something that makes them want to come again. Maybe it’s not too often, they don’t come to learn, they won’t come to learn, and they won’t listen to a lesson. Can we say that this is something similar, that to humanity something similar will happen, that they don’t understand, but they know it’s good?

R. I hope it will happen this way, I really hope it does.

34. S. (01:11:28) I’m trying to understand. In order for it to happen in the world, it has to go from Bnei Baruch to Israel first, or to the Jews and then to the world, or is it Bnei Baruch and then to the world?

R. I can say exactly. I can’t specify in what way the forces of correction will go through the world. But, it has to be from Bnei Baruch, and then more or less Israel, and then the world.

S. Because in talks with non-Jews, even with anti-Semites, their answer to this whole idea is usually very, “we will take care of ourselves, we will unite by ourselves, we don’t need someone from the outside to come and tell us how to unite, how to love.” But, there’s a role, or a task, or a duty to a certain group in humanity. Even if there are examples in nature, it hurts their pride, their personal or national pride. “I don’t need you to come and tell me how to be in good connection with others. I know.” On the contrary, they think that those people who are supposed to give it to humanity, those Jews, bring the opposite to humanity right now. So the question is, what should be the type of connection between them and this group called Jews or Israelis?

R. This has to be completely turned around, completely opposite. That we have to begin relating positively well to each other, and then we will see how they’ll change in treating everyone well. And, we are to blame in that we awakened waves of hatred throughout the world.

S. That is clear. What I’m trying to understand is, will they at some point have to see this whole nation called the Jewish nation, which they identify with their senses, or they have to see the Jewish nation behaving in a different way, a completely different way? Or, there will be one group whose message is this and will say, “ah, look at them and forget about that part of the nation, don’t look at this whole body,” because, people look at the Jews as one body.

R. You can’t detach Bnei Baruch from the Jews, from Israel, from the Israeli nation, no you can’t. There is something here that the Creator needs to change.

S. So, it sounds like this is what’s stopping it, this is the blockage. Let’s do the work that the gap between us and the world – there’s always this rest of the nation that is separating us. So, why are we not making efforts in this nation? It seems like we’re ignoring them?

R. We work within this nation. We exist within this nation. All of our lessons, all the writings that we spread, all of that in Hebrew is close to the nation. And, I do not understand your complaints – that we’ll go out to the streets and start explaining to each and every Jew?

S. It’s not a complaint. I’m trying to understand how it works. Even if we say it in Hebrew, then most of the nation is outside of Israel. I’m trying to understand, does it need to happen here in Israel, and then the rest of the world will receive it, regardless? Or, this nation that the world identifies as Jews or relating to the Jewish nation, and for the world to be ready to accept something from them, because the feeling is that they’re not ready right now.

R. Not yet, but we need to continue. We have to continue, and to try nonetheless to explain more and more about what both Baal HaSulam and Rabash, and before them as well, many people wanted to explain. Life does not end in this round going down to this world and we have to take part in that. I have nothing more to add. You are only looking at it through a small peeping hole of this world, of this time, of your will to receive. That’s why you don’t understand how much these global things are occurring nonetheless all over the universe. This will come, and we’ll get the explanation.

35. S. (01:17:51) I have a few questions, if I may. First, to what degree is the connection between us called dissemination?

R. To the extent that this connection is felt outside of the boundaries of Bnei Baruch.

S. Yes, the meaning is, is the measure of connection between us also the form of dissemination to the world?

R. Yes, you can say so.

S. What response should we expect?

R. What response?

S. To what response should we expect from our dissemination?

R. We want people to understand us. Not necessarily that they will agree, but they should understand what we’re talking about. If a person understands what I’m saying, he doesn’t have to agree and change his way of life, but they’ll understand that this is what I think. This is what we want.

S. Is it to expect a reward?

R. Should we expect a reward? Of course we would like to expect a reward, otherwise our actions, what we’re doing, has no meaning. Each and every action is weighed by the extent that I’m trying to receive in return. I am trying for every action I do, to get emotion towards the Creator, to feel Him more, to understand Him more, to be incorporated with Him more, to be able to bestow more to Him.

36. S. (01:20:18) Yes, and actually like today for example when there is a unity event, this is what I meant about the connection that we exude, that we draw the light, and we do the action of connection, this is what we project to the world even without words. Is it then called dissemination if so, the fact that we are connecting?

R. Of course this is dissemination. By this we elevate the force of connection we have all over the world in the general vessel. That’s why it’s certainly dissemination. It is certainly dissemination.

S. So what should be the reward of this action?

R. This depends on the intensity where we are performing this dissemination. Sometimes it yields great actions, sometimes it’s barely felt, but still each and every action leaves an impression.

37. S. (01:21:43) To continue more about the unity event that we have this evening, the uniting action that we have in the whole world, it is collecting, gathering together. This is a form of dissemination for the whole of humanity?

R. Yes.

S. And, what can turn it more much more qualitative that will really strike a connection in all of humanity, between everyone?

R. According to quantity and according to the quality. The more we increase this action of ours.

S. Quantity of the gatherers?

R. Quantity of the gatherers, and to what extent each and everyone is burning in his heart.

S. How can that be increased more and more so that there is a greater effect? How can we increase the degree of the burning in the heart?

R. By mutual bestowal. By mutual bestowal. This is how we do it.

S. What precisely? How to ignite the heart of the friends more?

R. Also by example. There is nothing besides example, barely anything besides example.

38. S. (01:23:24) If we’re talking about Arvut [mutual guarantee] within Bnei Baruch, how much strength, and how much effort is required to create change? Is it a single ten? Is it two people?

R. I don’t understand what he is saying. Help him.

39. S. (01:24:00) What forces, what strength, what efforts do we need to reach the unity between us in order to create a change in the world?

R. This, I don’t know. I don’t know.

S. Is it a single ten? Is it two people? Is it the entire world Kli? Because, we’re not talking about bodies right, we’re talking about forces of unity between the friends.

R. Yes. We need to show examples to each other, how much we need to connect everyone and to elevate everyone to the Creator. So, as much as each one is capable of doing this he should. Don’t look at others that much, more or less, rather, do whatever you can. Our times are very special times.

40. S. (01:25:41) And yet, to return to the Unity Event where we’re going to have 1,500 or 2,000 people together with the entire world, it’s going to be a very qualitative action. Everyone, each one, will put in his efforts, the friends will put their maximum, to press on the point of connection and it will spread. But, beyond this you said there is quality and there is quantity. And, if there is something in Israel like a pilgrimage where three times a year, or at least once, this nation will hear this idea. For example, there’s Jerusalem Day where we go to Jerusalem, where we take it upon ourselves to spread it amongst Israel in a single point. Is it also a way?

R. I’m not canceling this action with the quantity of people, but it’s not that I’m turning around that and putting some pictures of success on such a thing. Otherwise, we would be like, you know, all these parades being done? People from the left political party, or the right political party, going and shouting out there.

S. Yes there they have their own ideas. We’re coming from a different direction.

R. What for? No. I don’t think that through increasing the amount of people that were there, the enthusiasm, the beastly enthusiasm, you can do something, you can achieve something.

S. I’m just saying, only this idea, this lesson, to spread it in a way that it will reach everyone in their home, this hour and a half.

R. First of all, there are more successful lessons. It’s not the lesson of today. It’s a lesson that’s rolling in a very passive and slow way. It’s in the midst of the holidays and we can feel it very well. I don’t know what to tell you. I don’t see any possibility to awaken the public in a more serious way, besides troubles. If we are a will to receive what can affect us? If I’m drawn to the will to bestow, well then, what can affect us? But to the extent that we’re in the will to receive, to awaken us from our current state it is only possible through trouble. Do you have any other solution?

S. What is the state of hastening?

R. Hastening is: we agree, if we want, if we’ve drawn, if we will accept hastening as true help, as right help from the Creator. It’s not that it will only weaken us. Do you understand? That all depends on the state of the nation. You know, there’s a state that you give someone something and they will take it and go forward, and then there is a situation that if you give someone something he will lose his previous drive. You’re stopping him. It goes both ways. Now, today, what’s going on in the nation of Israel? The more you awaken it, by that you’re holding it back.

S. We’re the retarded child?

R. We see this also in this world. Some people, who are very smart, but they are a bit strange. We don’t have the right mind, and the healthy intellect to decipher our true state. And, this is why only us coming closer to the nations of the world, after we discover ourselves to a certain extent more, but coming closer to the nations of the world, the connection will yield the golden path by which we can see the world and correct it. But again, this depends on our mutual connection between us and the nations of the world.
