GRACE ON THE FIRST SHABBAT MEAL

THAT THEY WOULD EAT THE PRODUCE OF THE FIELD

-by Rav Michael Laitman

In general, the children of Israel ate manna.

If it were not for the upper Light and the manna that descended with it, they would have had nothing. Of course, one can say: “But they collected something in the desert, they had cows, sheep, lambs. Didn’t they do anything?” No, they acted.

The journey of the children of Israel in the desert is not a constant movement. They stopped and stayed in one place for several years. And then they moved on, as directed by the Creator. In fact, one can get from Egypt to Jerusalem within a week. And this transition lasted forty years?! The reason is that they stayed in every place for years. That is, it is not about allegories, but about the right way in Kabbalah. All transitions are elevations from level to level. And at each new level egoism was added. This means that they traveled some new distance in the desert. By overcoming their egoism, they gave birth, developed, multiplied livestock, etc.

From above they received manna, that is, only the upper force of Bina, which yet had to be used and with its help to extract from the inanimate, vegetative, and animal nature the qualities that would become similar to the Creator.
