Part 1:
1. Zohar for All. “Introduction of The Book of Zohar”. The Vision of Rabbi Hiya. #56
1. Rav’s Introduction: (00:27) I don’t have that much to say after we discussed yesterday almost the whole lesson about the love that the Zohar requires from us, that Kabbalah, that the Creator requires from us, that will achieve the top of our spiritual development which is, ‘love thy God,’ which includes all of our attitude to the entire reality, the still, vegetative, animate and speaking both corporeal and spiritual. So, I don’t have much to add. We will just continue.
Reading Item 56. (01:45) “Angel Matat took an oath..”
2. S. (21:45) What is the great sea?
R. Malchut.
3. S. (22:10) What are Rabbi Hiya and Rabbi Yosi with respect to spiritual states?
R. These are forces in the soul of each and every one. They lead the soul towards correction.
S. To which line can we attribute them, these states?
R. They are still not lines, they are forces that lead us towards some questions and as a result we look for solutions. So, we can’t say these forces correct us themselves, they rather lead us towards demanding correction.
4. S. (23:43) It is written here that these tears appear because there is no cover; it penetrates the screen. So the tears that appear in a student with respect to the sorrow of the Shechina because there is not enough faith in the Creator: are these tears some clothing? And if so how is this connected to the gate of tears?
R. Yes, if tears emerge as a result of reading some texts that relate to your soul that is very good: it purifies the soul.
S. Can you clarify, is this the way for the gate of tears? Is it some clothing over those tears, which it is written that they do not clothe and that is why there are tears?
R. No, no, no, don’t make up things. Just listen to what is being said first and then you will find and discover. Now you are starting to think and come up with things that is not so good because without any basis you are starting to come up with all kinds of answers.
5. S. (25:26) He mentions many times the minister of the sea. What is the minister of the sea and that he is revived and he works?
R. The spiritual force, that is what I can tell. You will get to know many spiritual forces.
6. S. (25:57) If tears stem from not being able to, not to reflect the light right, that they give vitality and they clarify, scrutinize and correct and help sanctify the Creator. How is this done, through what?
R. These are lights that because the lower one is in sorrow they fall to the great sea, to Malchut and that corrects the Malchut.
S. What does he regret not being able to bring them back?
R For the lack of correction, yes. He feels in these tears that the Creator; the upper One suffers.
7. S. (26:53) What is the connection between spiritual tears and corporeal tears?
R. Yes, it is an example.
S. An example of what?
R. Like he writes that when a person is sorry about his friend he sheds tears.
S. Because he writes here that spiritual tears are never lost like corporeal ones, so what is the difference?
R. As you or any spiritual phenomenon doesn’t go away, there is always an impression that’s left.
8. S. (27:38) How do such great writers such as Rabbi Hiya come to fear because he’s supposed to work above reason? So how does he come to fear that the Creator abandoned Malchut of Malchut?
R. I don’t have an answer. I am following what the Zohar is asking and probably even at that degree there is a question.
9. S. (28:18) Concerning the tears, it is written that they penetrate the Masach but it is written that they are not incorporated in the degree of Hochma because there is no reflected light in them. How do I penetrate the screen?
R. They penetrate illegally, meaning not according to the law because the lower one is in sorrow, great sorrow, that sorrow cannot be measured and therefore, the tears it causes, they fall, they descend into the great sea, into the Malchut and cause correction.
S. But who regrets it: the Creator or the lower one?
R. The Creator.
S. This is why he gives this illegal addition of upper light?
R. It’s also according to that upper law but that law cannot be put into nature because it depends on sorrow.
10. S. (29:49) What does it mean when he writes that he is filled with dust? That he withers in the dust?
R. That the will to receive is entirely, still included in the dust and it cannot make actions with the intention in order to bestow and from discovering that he feels sorrow.
Reader. (30:36) He is asking what does it mean that the doe is lying in the dust?
R. The doe is also a desire.
11. S. (30:48) What is meant by kicking the firmament, what is going on here?
R.The clothings are typically the reflected light that the lower one receives from above. The kicks are it awakens a response in the upper One.
12. S. (31:34) What awakens the tears in the upper One?
R. The tears of the lower one.
S. It has to have an action from below and then it comes. It doesn’t happen any other way does it?
R. That’s how it happens.
13. S. (32:17) What does it mean that the tears come out?
R. That they become revealed to the outside.
14. S. (32:45) I wanted to ask about something being according to the law because the tears are not according to the law? The Aviut, the coarseness of the screen and the coarseness of the vessel are the same, right? So the light strikes the screen, in what way does the screen stop the light if they are the same, if they are equal? How does this coupling happen? It needs to be a little more, how much more powerful; the screen needs to be kind of thicker?
R. There needs to be one force both for the light and for the screen. The screen stops the light because there is no common quality between them.
S. So this quality becomes Hassidim, right it creates a reflected light? There is something in the screen that is more than in the vessel itself that allows the light to be reflected?
R. There is nothing more in the screen. Meaning the screen doesn’t need to overcome the light. The screen simply disagrees with the expansion of the light into the Malchut. That’s sufficient.
15. S. (35:52) It is written in the excerpt, that the minister of the sea that watches over the whole sea, who is he?
R. The minister of the sea is the force that takes over all of the sea, in place of the sea, or goes in the name of all of this power called sea.
16. S. (35:19) The Zohar is too high for us to try and understand. If we move correctly towards the Zohar can we relinquish ourselves so that it will lead us in a moment. What do we do in such a way in order to behave like some hungry dog, finding a bone after a long time, and it doesn’t let go of it? It doesn’t matter if it has a scent or distractions, it just doesn’t let go of it. How do we relate to the Zohar in this way?
R. It is the source of all of Kabbalah and the introduction that we are studying now, it is the source of that source to the whole wisdom of Kabbalah. When you better and better understand what it is talking about you are going to see the whole Study of the Ten Sefirot in this and the whole of the book of Zohar, with all of its volumes and generally just all of reality, the whole Torah. Everything is included in the book of the Zohar, and in truth in The Introduction to the Book of Zohar, everything is in there.
17. S. (37:00) Can it be said that the tears are a gift of the Creator according to a person’s efforts?
R. Yes, you can say that.
18. S. (37:24) Does a corporeal tear for a friend, does it complement each other’s efforts?
R. Certainly.
19. S. (37:39) I have never heard anything more emotional: it is so powerful. My question is: we read this excerpt in the evening, with the ten and what I heard now, I don’t understand how or why but why specifically in the morning lesson or maybe because there are many of us or the connection. I can’t find the word for it but I am kind of, I can’t breathe; it is so emotional.
R. It means your vessel is opening up. I am very happy to hear it.
20. S. (38:33) In the article it says there is a Zivug in every single day. Question: if I come to a true prayer does it mean that I have the Zivug?
R. If you come to a real prayer and you feel what state, what connection with the Creator you are in.
21. S. (39:13) In the text he says that the King visits the doe each day.
R. Until he corrects the doe.
S. Can we compare it to a feeling of remembering; to something that is imprinted in us? To an awakening of some records of the upper light?
R. Yes, have it this way for now.
22. S. (40:22) What are the strikes that the light strikes on the screen in order to awaken the doe that is lying in the dust? How can we feel those strikes?
R. Why should we talk about it? Soon, we will feel them and then we’ll talk.
23. S. (40:56) How can Malchut de Malchut be considered in the ten?
R. Malchut de Malchut is incorporated in the Shechina with tiny, tiny, tiny portions and this is how we correct it. He explains about it, that this is what it means when he talks about tears falling, or last water or all kinds of things with these actions are incorporated in regular corrections but these actions precisely belong to the correction of Malchut de Malchut.
S. Can the friends save the doe from the dust via MAN?
R. Only in this way. Only in this way and in no other way.
24. S. (42:21) What does it mean that tears fall into the sea? Are too many tears a good thing and if not how can we avoid shedding those tears?
R. We need to do what we need to do and as much as we attain those tears we will attain it. Tears are a clothing over the upper light. Let’s hope we will come to it, and receive it correctly into our common desires.
25. S. (43:15) It says in the text that the ten is only the beginning, so the beginning of what? In the end it says that at the end of correction death will be swallowed up forever. What death, the death of the will to receive or what?
R. Yes, yes the will to receive; that’s the will to receive.
26. S. (44:00) Is our qualitative, correct dissemination the passing of the upper tears to the light, to the world?
R. Tears awaken in people who really want to achieve correction. It is not simple and it is not given to just anyone.
27. S. (44:49) It says here that all the waters will dry up and the people of Israel can pass through the land. I do not understand what is the water and the great sea here?
R. It is the feeling of Malchut, this is called the great sea.
S. What does it mean that it was dried and then the people of Israel could pass?
R. The waters dry out, it is like there is this passage in the Red Sea where the whole people went through dry land.
S. What does that mean? What exactly is dried up? The fulfillment, you said, needs to dry up. What is the role of water and what does it mean that they dry up?
R. That there is no cessation, no stopping between this world and the next world; that everyone can go through the dry land.
28. S (46:22) I still have a question concern the tears and I still have a question about it. I’m going through this state of burning tears, what is happening to me than exactly when I’m working in the ten?
R. That you want to correct your will to receive and be connected through it to the friends and through the friends to the Creator. So then when you try this you discovered that you cannot do it even though you seemingly really want to so there is kind of stop this break that does not let you go through it, and this is what you cry about that there is something in the will to receive that you can not skip over. What do you do?
S. How can we reach this point that we all start having this feeling of burning tears? how can we help each other to reach this point?
R. First of all there needs to be a connection between the friends then in their connection they begin to feel the common desire to rise above the limitations to rise above the waves this is called crossing the Red Sea when each one elevates the other and everyone elevates everyone.
S. Let’s say that we are reading now reading the Zohar these texts so how do these help us with the right attitude reading this help us to reach this point?
R. The fact that we are reading and we want to attain and we regret not attaining, not feeling, not understanding, this is already a prayer when we try to reach to go through the Red Sea, this is in itself a great prayer and yearning and great pressure that we put on the upper force.
29. S. (49:19) This is a beautiful metaphor of the sea and the tears, how can the tears correct an entire sea?
R. They stem from different degrees, those tears, because the tear comes out as a result of the person’s feeling, and the sea covers the ground. It’s only inanimate, the still, it’s not animate, and therefore tears that come down from the Creator and in that case he shed them into the sea and by this completes the correction. By this, he corrects all of creation which can, in such a case, add her tears to the general tears of all the people, so it turns out that these final drops actually correct everything, meaning as a result of the Creator’s relation to our work, we are actually totally dependent on this attitude and this relation of His.
30. S. (51:20) Is the coupling of striking the reason for the growth of the Kli and the strengthening of the Masach?
R. Coupling by striking is not the reason for strengthening the screen it is the result of the strengthening of the Masach the screen, the coupling is the result.
S. And something similar happens during the lesson and reading of the Zohar?
R. No why, we meet at noon as well and we read on our own also a little bit, we strengthen the screen over the whole world basically.
S. Where is that thing border, how to tell the difference between the Kli that the group builds in the lesson and faith in that the Creator connected us and created this Kli?
R. During the coupling by striking, no growth happens, no growth of the vessel, only a decision is made, and the growth happens only in the connections between the friends. When we connect together as close as we can and the result of this connection is their connection with the Creator.
S. But the reflected light is the Kli?
R. The reflected light is a result.
S. What does it mean that the whole correction of the Malchut de Malchut is upon the lower ones?
R. It is the correction over all of the Malchut de Malchut, although there are things that we do seemingly by ourselves, in some cases, return to the Creator but in the end we attain all of the Malchut de Malchut, although with the participation of the Creator but that is on us, either we must awaken or we must do.
31. S. (54:16) It is said until enough tears will accumulate and that will happen when all the nations will turn against Israel, what are these tears? What is the connection to the nations and the Israel?
R. Here it is about the end of correction, expressing, revealing the corrected vessels as well as the vessels that have not been corrected but should be corrected, and will position them one opposite of the other in order to correct one through the other. And then it will be clear, how many vessels are corrected and how many vessels are not corrected, and what more needs to be done in order to complete the correction.
S. If I understand correctly, the nations of the world meaning the vessels that want correction and Israel are vessels that are already corrected?
R. Yes but besides that, they also want to be corrected and don’t want to be corrected. They are in different states, yes.
32. S. (01:01:47) The prayer, the general prayer, is it a cumulative effort of the friends in the group in nullifying towards each other?
R. Completely, totally correct very true.
33. S. (01:02:15) The emotions described in the Zohar are seemingly from a much higher attainment, so how can we reach that state from our state?
R. Whatever we understand, we understand, it is just like a little child understands a grown up to some extend he understands a grown up he does, so is our connection with the upper one. We do not need to really be on the same level, but to some extent we are, to some extent we are not. If we are already taking a few steps towards each other, and we are willing to cancel our will to receive for ourselves, so it is somewhat also directed towards the friends, then we are somewhat to that extent, ready to be connected from between us to the Creator, until we begin to feel him as a common thing between us. As a force that is revealed, that connects, a force that establishes us. And in this way we will go forward until we begin to speak to Him and He to us, we will begin to identify his dialogue that can be between us and Him. This is what we actually want to achieve, and then everything will be open, clear, we will be able to ask, get answers, to speak like people speak to each other, to the same extent we are connected to the friends and we are willing to open up for them our mouths, ears and heart, to that extent we will be connected to the Creator.
34. S. (01:04:35) Can we say that the cry happens because that there is no enough Hassadim to cloth the light of Hochma and because lack of Hassadim we can not accept Hochma in to the vessel and it’s causing a cry, can we say this way?
R. Yes, you can think about it this way, afterwards we will phrase it differently but basically it is correct.
35. S. (01:05:30) You said that the tears of the Creator correct the created being, but still it also depends on the lower ones, we need to somehow speed it up awaken the tears of the Creator, how?
R. To the extent that we are connected to between us, by each one being willing to annul himself in order to be connected to the friend, to that extent, each one takes steps forward towards the Creator. When we do such work together when we as a ten annual our personal egos in order to be connected together it is different work and then when we do this we approach the Creator as a group as a collective. And in the connection between us there is already a new reality or we are connected and this is already from that reality that we had before the sin of the tree of knowledge. So in that the reality we begin to receive the feeling the revelation of the Creator himself as it was and those operations when he created us when he established us before he broke us so we would discover him, this is basically our work.
S. But the tears of the Creator are tears of the sorrow, the tears that we awaken are the tears of joy of connection, what are the tears?
R. It is what we are awaken through our labour, through our efforts.
S. About Rahav, there is the Creator, there’s the Masach, there’s Malchut, we know that the Malchut restricted itself and all of sudden there’s a new force called Rahav?
R. Rahav is the king of the sea, the Red Sea, basically it is a central force that performs central, the main operations within the sea, within the Malchut.
S. But it is not the Malchut herself?
R. No, Malchut herself is a system and Rahav is the central point of that system they’re not one instead of the other.
36. S. (01:09:14) Many questions about the tears, how to achieve such a state of mercy and love towards every friend in the ten like spiritual tears?
R. There needs to be truly a connection between the hearts how to achieve this we need to try to understand that we need to be in in one heart as one man with one heart, and then we will be able to attain those tears.
37. S. (01:10:07) Why are the tears a clothing for the light if they stem from the lack of Hassadim?
R. Tears are those vessels that we can not sort for the time being and this is why they come out this way from us, with pain with pressure.
38. S. (01:11:01) What is the upper one that is sorry about the tears that do not fall into our world?
R. It is a higher degree than us that we have to come to it’s always the degree of Bina.
39. S. (01:11:17) Should we also be sorry for his sorrow?
R. We have to come to a state where all of us identify with the Creator, with the upper one.
40. S. (01:11:34) What is the coupling that happens every day? What is the coupling with the Shechina?
R. When we want to be together with the Shechina, receiving in order to bestow upon the Creator, and then our entire work will be in His direction.
41. S. (01:12:09) What are firmaments?
R. Firmaments are like Sefirot, it is grades of the force of bestowal.
42. S. (01:12:20) What is Matat?
R. We will learn this thing soon.
43. S. (01:12:23) What is the state where all the nations of the world will accumulate at once to destroy Israel?
R. When all the desires to receive in us want to be against they will be revealed as wanting to work together against the intention to bestow.
44. S. (01:12:58) Regarding tears, what does it mean the Malchut de Malchut receives its correction by these tears bit by bit?
R. Gradually means that we are in this process that we are gradually going through it and this is how we correct the broken vessels, all the vessels are from the sin of Adam HaRishon and we have to correct them meaning stand in them although they themselves do not. We need to gather those vessels that can work in order to bestow, opposite the vessel that can be in order to receive and compare them to each other and ask for forgiveness and ask for corrections from the Creator.
45. S. (01:14:07) Is there a spiritual explanation why tears are salty?
R. I can’t remember these things of course I knew them about these things but it seems to me because it is result of the Malchut de Malchut.
46. S. (01:14:34) In the past you didn’t like answering questions you didn’t want to talk about terms but focus on the connection?
R. Nothing change I just want us to go deeper and think about it and get close to it. That’s why I do not see it as such a problem just be more interesting in this.
47. S. (01:15:04) Is it correct to search for the meaning and not for the connection with the friends?
R. No it is clearly that is not.
Reading item #57 (01:15:27) “In the meantime, he heard a voice saying..”
Reading item #58 (01:20:47) “At that time, all the friends rose, and Rabbi Shimon rose..”
48. S. (01:28:11) What are those images appearing in the seminaries?
R. Spiritual degrees only, spiritual degrees.
49. S. (01:28:38) He speaking about the Messiah, what is that Messiah?
R. Messiah is the upper light that comes to us from the Creator, like all the lights but this light is able to take us out of our intention to receive that is what it is called Messiah from the Hebrew word Moshech, to pull.
S. The Messiah meaning the end of the correction, what is he stating here?
R. At every single degree there’s that force that pulling us to the higher degree the force that will dominate.
S. And what are the 613 flavors of those blocks secrets? what are those flavors that he’s speaking about?
R. The lights that are revealed the time that the Kli filled with light and rises above.
S. And what are those blocked secrets? Why do there even need to be secrets in the Zohar?
R. The secrets are in relation to you, as you have you seen for surely more than once a small child looking at you not getting what you are talking.
S. And what should I do with these secrets?
R. To grow.
S. To discover them?
R. To grow, you need to grow.
S. Me? It is blocked, how can I open this?
R. When you grow it will open it up.
S. Oh, so I grow spiritually, I see.
R. Yes.
50. S. (01:30:54) In the article it is written your Torah? What does that mean?
R. That it goes through him with his own interpretation clothed in him by him passing it on to the world. That is the Torah of Rabbi Shimon.
51. S (01:31:45) What does it mean to be on the degree of Yechida?
R. The degree of Yechida I do not know how to explain this. It is to be in the state that everything is revealed in the lower one that attains the level of unity where everything connects. That is why this vessel is called Yechida and then he attains all of the Torah, all of nature, all of the forces which belong to one Creator and they have one goal and everything is as a single unit that is why that light is the name of the light that is revealed in the vessel.
52. S (01:32:42) What does it mean that the Messiah sees Torah from the mouth of the sages?
R. That to the same extent that people below in our world connect and discover the upper force that is called that the Creator is revealed through them through the same sages of the Torah.
53. S. (01:33:25) What does it mean that they come to the heads of the seminary is this GAR?
R. Yes.
54. S. (01:33:37) What does it mean that the eye has not seen a G-d like you?
R. It is a state that a person who has reached that degree reveals the Creator, neither has the eye seen a g-d besides you.
55. S. (01:34:08) Happy is the one who his Torah rises? What does it mean that the Torah rises?
R. That his Torah is discovering higher and higher degrees.
S. And here he it says that the Creator seals the Torah in his seminary.
R. Yes, that’s while gathering around his Torah it all rises to the degree of the Creator.
56. S. (01:34:57) What are the seminaries the Zohar is speaking about?
R. These are groups. Just like our groups, let’s say.
57. S. (01:35:11) Were everybody rewarded for reaching the head of the seminaries?
R. Each one needs to reach what they need to reach according to their spiritual root that the fact that we have gotten some kind of of connection to the corrections, that means that we certainly belongs to a system that entirely belongs to the upper force, to the place of the Creator but each and every one of us each, every single group will acquire it according to our investment.
58. S. (01:36:07) In 57 it says make room. What does it mean to make room in the ten?
R. From our hearts by clearing up our will to receive completely by cleaning it so that we will not have anything left of the will to receive.
59. S. (01:36:26) When we reach equivalence of form with the Creator then the Messiah will come?
R. Yes.
60. S. (01:36:14) Is every light a fulfillment on our ten for the others?
R. Yes that was asked nicely.
61. S. (01:36:51) The Zohar is speaking a lot about the lights that are attained by Rabbi Shimon. How to want pure bestowal and not want the fulfilling from the connection?
R. This comes gradually by the upper light that cleanses our questions, our prayers it kind of cleans us, scrubs us and by that we reach questions, requests we reach prayers that are higher and higher. It will come, it will come in the form of cause and consequence.
62. S. (01:37:42) What is the persimmon and what does it mean that they go into the river of the persimmon.
R. We still have to find out. It’s not for now.
63. S. (01:37:56) What are the innovations in the Torah and how do we do it?
R. We innovate the Torah meaning that same light that comes to us from the Creator we can multiply it many times through those same desires of ours that we correct from in order to receive to in order to give and then that same light that shines it does it, it shines stronger and stronger and it awakens us to see what is in the will to receive to the extent we can cleanse more and more layer after layer of the will to receive in order to receive to a will to bestow. In that we come closer to the general correction.
64. S. (01:38:50) Can you explain the last sentence in 58. Neither has the eye seen a G-d besides you and the Creator himself seals the Torah from their mouths.
R. First of all there are few interpretations here and I’m not sure I know them all. Neither has the eye seen G-d besides you because we do not want to see the Creator, we do not want to reveal Him. Revealing Him is doing it in order to bestow upon Him and not revealing Him in order to receive Him. And that is why neither has the eye seen a g-d besides you means that we reject coming closer through receiving from the Creator to coming closer to give to Him.
65. S. (01:39:59) In the Zohar lesson I feel protected from all evil. Is it psychology or does the upper light really protect?
R. It is written in the Zohar itself that those who engage in the book of Zohar even if they just read the book without understanding anything even on a single word, they are already under this protective force of the upper.
66. S. (01:40:27) About crying, how can I help a friend that constantly cries on a bodily level?
R. Crying on the spiritual level?
S. No, with her body.
R. She’s in such trouble on the physical level? Still no matter what she should start arranging the Zohar. Give her the book of Zohar so that she can start writing and rewriting it, it doesn’t matter what. The most important thing is to engage with the book whether she’s doing it correctly or not.
67. S. (01:41:08) What does it mean to rise to the seminaries of the firmament?
R. That we are ready to rise in the spiritual degrees and to start attaining MAN from the upper degrees.
68. S. (01:41:45) Why does Rabbi Shimon rise after his friends?
R. Let’s not pay attention to these matters for the time being. Later on we’ll understand why he first rose and maybe then friends or the friends first and then him it depends on raising MAN.
69. S. (01:42:36) When the Zohar refers to the Sefirot KB TM why is Keter missing?
R. Yes we attain all of the upper degrees other than Keter because Keter belongs to the Creator himself. Do we attain the 400 degrees or 390 or 399, it depends on how you put it. We will still learning about it. The 50th gate, all of these things they are still not clear to us what is the secret of the matter, what do we need to attain, what do we need to keep that we will not penetrate there and not start searching our vessels which are still completely not clean.
70. S. (01:43:53) What is the difference between feeling sorry for a friend in the ten or the whole world vessel or the whole world?
R. These are two very different degrees to be sorry for the sorrow of the friend that he’s my friend that I am building a ten with him which is an inner vessel to attaining the Creator in completely that is our main work and around that we also want to build the general vessel which the entire public all of humanity is one ten, still, vegetative, animate, speaking, this is already different and that it is a big difference so we need to first care for our ten which is above everything because in it, in its internality lies the Creator and this is who we are aimed towards that all the connection between is only in order to come closer to the Creator to open our hearts to Him and to bring all of humanity to join this and that is already different work already that is the work of the public and in that work we come closer to Gmar Tikkun the final correction but first we should have that central point, which is our ten with the Creator in it.
71. S. (01:45:39) What does it mean that He is crowned with the innovations of the righteous?
R. The Creator likes Innovations, because that comes and reveal to all the created beings that for the time being they are detached from Him; not from His side but from their side, so He is very happy that they reveal Him as their center, because he’s caring for their correction, He is there a spiritual father, I don’t have any other words. We need to understand that without the upper force we don’t start or end creation, and our attainment and all of our livelihood depends only on the extent that we are directed towards the Creator, yearning to Him, reaching Him. That is why as much as we are aimed towards Him we are giving Him contentment by that; all of our work is to reach that same degree of love towards Him like He is with love towards us.
72. S. (01:47:25) You said that you want us to go deeper in our work in the Zohar every ten get together and read the Zohar and there is a workshop. How to make sure we don’t fall into all kinds of philosophies or all kinds of weird things?
R. First of all I don’t think that we can really philosophize with the Zohar because it’s always pulling up towards the emotion. That is why I don’t really have the ability to get confused. The Zohar is written in such a way that a person needs to activate his emotions. The Zohar awakens him in such a way, and that is why we need to,, how should I put it? To open our hearts. To open our hearts; If we open our hearts we will very quickly start feeling the connection with the Creator and then everything will be open for us.
S. Yesterday you said in the afternoon lesson you said it’s all about gathering of the hearts into one collected heart?
R. What else can I add? That’s the truth. And I, according to my nature I’m very distant from that, very distant. According to my nature I would sit and study the Sefirot, Partzufim, Olamot; all sorts of degrees of ascent, Masachim. But forcefully I would have to transfer it to the emotion.
S. How did you do that?
R. I don’t know if I did it. I’m still not done, I think; because it ends in the final corrections together with you. We need to try.
S. So how can we with the ten that work with the Zohar can reach the next day in the lesson with a true desire. What is the right scrutiny we need to do?
R. That our correction is one that will raise us above our bodies from our desires to a single heart; that is our correction. And in that single heart, that central point in that central point of the heart; that is where we will discover the Creator.
S. After we scrutinize the Zohar should we end with a prayer?
R. Yes, that’s preferable.
73. S. (01:50:42) You said that we help you advance as your students so at what speed?
R. You know that you are helping me and others, according to what they want.
S. I will try. It’s thanks to my friends in the ten, they’re wonderful.
R. Yes. That is why I am speaking openly that they can’t ruin anything for you with an evil eye.
Reading Item #59 (01:51:36)
Reading Item #60 (01:56:33)
74. S. (01:57:57) What is the time required to make the new correction?
R. Good question: there’s a correction that can be done directly or correction that can be done with additional time, and then this way we need to understand these things. That if a person doesn’t organize himself correctly simply directly to correct himself so he gets these corrections that give him over time.
S. There is such an impression that they allow him to live in this world and engage in new corrections?
R. This world is a spiritual world; before the body dies or after the body dies I mean the corporeal physical body, that is not what he’s speaking about; we’re always talking about a man’s feelings in which world he lives in.
S. He explains to the Messiah which corrections he wants to make. What is the meaning?
R. Intentions. He needs to show his intentions.
75. S. (01:59:53) It says that he needs to come back down to this world. What does it mean in the ten, how can one grow if I go out of the path or out of the ten, what corrections do i need to go through?
R. No God forbid, don’t ever leave the ten, no matter what: he is saying that if a person may be disconnected sometimes but not physically, internally, and then comes back; disconnects and returns. There are such things in order for a person to be able to determine a new degree that a more correct correction in holding onto the ten even stronger, okay?
76. S. (02:01:01) What is the strength that brings tears from the pain? How can we use this Force?
R. That’s Malchut that has to be corrected only through prayers, and man needs to reach a state that he for sure sees that he cries not with the corporeal tears but in inner tears; he cries and that brings him closer to correction. In this way he is really desired by the Creator.
77. S. (02:01:51) I would be happy if you could translate this explanation: it says here that he has nothing left to do in this world that is why he needs to depart and enter the centenary of Rabbi Shimon in heaven. Does all the work in this world can be done and what does it mean to remain in this world freely?
R. I don’t know but learn from the writers of the Zohar; if they don’t know something so they don’t ask Rabbi Michael, they rise and then ask The Creator.
S. He says why stay in this world freely?
R. Ascend, and ask.
S. What can I ask? I’m asking you.
R. No. Not me, you have to ask the Creator and if you don’t get the answer you have to fast 40 days and 40 nights and then ask again.
S. Let me ask a simpler question: is reading from the Book of Zohar enough to reach a spiritual degree or should there be additional actions?
R. I don’t know what you mean by reading?
S. Like now, three hours of reading Zohar asking questions?
R. The question is to what extent does this correct your heart?
S. Ok. What else should be done? Is it enough to read?
R. No.
S. What else do we need to do?
R. You need to keep the intentions that this is correcting your heart.
S. Intention? And what about the system in the ten that i need to do?
R. Yes, together in the ten, that each one also aimed towards that.
S. That enough without connection with the mind and the heart?
R. No, we’ll have to be connected.
S. Connected how?
R. That each of us need to be connected to the others in order to correct the general heart.
S. To subjugate myself towards the friends, to humiliate myself what should I do?
R. To rise above corporeal desires and correct ourselves in such a way that we only want to uplift spiritually, in order to bestow one to the other.
S. Also our behavior and also by reading the Zohar?
R. Yes. Good. so here we are done with all corrections. if he says we’re done.
78. S. (02:04:53) You said that you need to fast for 40 days and 40 nights. Do you mean kin corporeality? What actions need to be done?
R. No, 40 means a whole degreeIt doesn’t mean 40 or not. It means until he reaches the degree of Bina, she doesn’t want anything for herself but everything in order to bestow. Bestowing in order to bestow is ZAT de Bina and receiving in order to bestow is GAR of Bina and in this way we need to correct the reality. Reality means the will to receive that we discover in each and every one.
S. Does that mean that I need to be grateful in the Ten and think about prayer for the friends so that the Creator is one, unique and unified that can?
R. To pray for the friends that you need not for yourself God forbid but only for the friends.
79. S. (02:06:20) The correction of the quality of Israel that doesn’t want to be corrected prior to that and rising above corporeal desires is that the same?
R. Rising above physical desires is to put the connection between us above all physical conditions and states. Again, the connection between us has to be above any other physical state.
S. [No translation]
R. No including the body. You constantly think about how to be connected to the friends above all kinds of states, it always has to be the top priority.
S. We will try and realize this. Thank you.
80. S. (02:07:45) What does it mean that the Messiah was shaken?
R. That what belongs to Gmar Tikkun, the final correction, that’s where the foundations of nature are and they are all they go through these great shakings, these shuttterings, as he says. The whole order of the world starts changing into the eternal world.
81. S. (02:08:29) Thank you my question is in the beginning of the article it says that the king strikes with 300 firmaments and what remains is the Malchut of Malchut of the 10 Sefirot, is that my ten that remains uncorrected in order to complete the 400 degrees?
R. In every ten, one degree that remains that is not corrected, where they still cannot devote their hearts to one another. Imagine to yourself that you are giving your heart to the friends and he gives his heart to you and then this way everyone to everyone. Then in that devotion you discover that there is another kind of resistance, some fears and anxieties, some calculations that are in each and every one. Whether to give their heart to the friends and to get from the friends, their hearts. When they finish this, they start feeling what the 50th gate means and then they have revelation of the Messiah.
Well, there are still all kinds of other phenomena but when we get there we’ll see it and discover it. For now, the main thing for us is to discover, not the perception but the connection between us. How should I say it? As much as we connected to one another. I wanted to find a word that is nicer, stronger, more obligated, that is what we have to discover. For now how are correction is mutual if I don’t help the friend and the friend doesn’t help me if I don’t help the friends I don’t let him correct his attitude towards me and that’s how all of us to each other in participation in complete Arvut and we have to feel it to such an extent that we uplift above all these calculations and give our hearts to one another with open hands.
82. S. (02:14:06) You explained about the shaking of the Messiah and the ten of Rabbi Shimon was able to make it so that there were tears extracted. What is it speaking of here that the Messiah supposedly wept. What, that there were corrections made upon everything there, the same form of suffering at the same time?
R. Yes, and also we have to get used to that every time we attain something in the connection between us, through those tears, in the connection between us it disappears. Those are those tears that fall into the great sea and from there that sea is filled. There is nothing you can do. We need to get used to our corrections that from day to day they will be as new in your eyes and every day more and more difficult.
S. What does it mean that the tears disappear?
R. They fall into the ocean and we supposedly don’t see them gathering. Every day we have to awaken ourselves in an emotion to correction, a desire to correction, in a more and more harsh way with a greater effort, more difficult effort.
S. Until it won’t turn into tears because, what’s it called?
R. No, not a conduit you mean.
S. No, I mean that it opens. I had a question but I’m not sure.
R. It’s all right, it will come later on. Take it as a higher Providence that isn’t letting you ask right now. That also has to be that way.
83. S. (02:14:34) A person needs to overcome his fears and give his heart to the ten. What conditions should the ten give to each and every friend in order to enable the friend to give his heart?
R. The conditions are simple. It doesn’t depend on the person himself like he does on his friends. Like it does on his friends, if the friends support me so for sure I will get from the Creator conditions where I can annul before the friends and feel the Creator inside them.
S. There is supposedly supporting the ten, helping each other, thinking of each other,
R. I guess not enough yet. We still aren’t sure that there should be such a common mutual connection between us.
S. So what is this inner support that will enable a person to truly open up to his ten?
R.That you needs an open heart and this heart is only open by the help of the Creator in illumination from above and that illumination comes to a person under the condition that the friends think about him and if the friends think about him they will only to the extent that he thinks about them and tries as much as he can to devote his soul to them, and that’s called Arvut mutual guarantee.
S. What is the person’s heart? Where is the heart? It’s not the physical heart so what is this heart?
R. The heart is the center of man, it’s the center of man.
S. Where is that?
R. In all his thoughts and feelings there’s a central point of man and that is called the heart. There he has contact with the Creator.
S. Does he have access to this place? Can he control it?
R. Does he have access? No, that is in the hands of the Creator.
S. That means to give the heart is only through the Creator only through asking Him?
R. Correct. Correct.
84. S. (02:18:02) Is the correct intention to change the heart, does that work also work without reading the Book of Zohar?
R. No, I wouldn’t say that that’s the way that it works. I don’t think that without reading and reading in a way that we’ve now for the first time that we’re going through the Book of Zohar you can’t without this digging in, you can’t reach the essence of the Torah.
85. S. (02:18:45) While we read we need to think on the one hand of the correction of the heart on the other hand we need to think of the friends, so we need the correction of the heart in order to ask correctly for the friends?
R. Yes, good, you said it nicely. All the corrections we need are in order to ask for the friends.
86. S. (02:19:08) At the end of this article it says that the Messiah came out of the Rabbi Shimon’s seminary, with this I was tearing for all the longing for the complete redemption, and this is why Rabbi Hiya was shaken too. Is the opening of our hearts, this longing for the complete redemption we share with our friends, and does this business part of Rabbi Shimon’s seminary, is that seminary existing today in the spiritual context since there is no time or space and if so is Bnei Baruch part of that longing?
R. Of course yes, that depends on us, men and women. There is no separation according to gender, only according to the desire.
S. I didn’t get the translation but that’s okay, thank you.
87. S. (02:20:55) It says in the last paragraph that the Messiah came out of the Seminary of Rabbi Shimon with longing for a complete redemption. What is this longing for complete redemption? How can we attain that?
R. That is what we’re aimed towards, and aiming ourselves, every time more and more. That’s called that we are all connected as one man with one heart without any difference between us that we connect as cells in one heart and we try to complete one another until we become the main part where the Creator can clothe..
88. S. (02:22:21) We’re trying to do many actions with the heart, to connect the heart, to open the heart, to bring the friends into our hearts, to connect our hearts.
R. By wanting that we’re awakening the Creator to do that because all the actions in the heart are in the hands of the Creator.
S. We need to reach a state that will be willingly in this heart in this mutual desire?
R. We need to reach a state that our desires our intentions will be entirely towards the Creator to do these actions, not that we’re doing them, but that the Creator will do these actions upon us.
S. How can we bring in one ten to friends to do these actions?
R. So if not ten, three, four, five.
S. I need to imagine that the friends are doing this?
R. No, each one when ever he can and when he wants to and the Creator will organize that connection between us so it’s the Creator who receives our work and organizes it.
S. What’s the condition to bring the Creator into the ten?
R. Don’t forget that we’re working before Him. That’s the main thing.
89. S. (02:24:16) There are many questions here. I don’t know where to start. Six thousand years the world existed and then it will be destroyed. Is it like a positive distraction or [..]?
R. Of course.
S. Why is there such a concern for the Messiah?
R. First of all we will learn about it separately but we can say this that all the connections that were in the world before it were incorrect and it’s just so we should learn from them what is correct in the connection between us, what should be there, and then we reach the correct connection between us.
90. S. (02:25:18) The optimizing or strengthening the connection system in the ten, is that the same thing as reaching equivalence of form with a Creator, is so that to connect in the ten, do we reach the attainment of there’s none else besides Him?
R. Let’s say that’s how it also works too.
