Reading Introduction to The Book of Zohar. #18 (0:31) “This settles our fifth inquiry..”
1. S. (02:37) Something is not clear here. In the first and third states you can try and imagine the souls, the corrected desire before it shattered like the state of existence, but then it’s not clear how you reach this corporeal experience. Where does this happen?
R. Corporeal experience? What do you mean?
S. Yeah, our existence here. It seems like there is no connection to these states that he is speaking of. Where does this inversion happen? That it becomes a corporeal experience, that probably doesn’t even exist but in our perception.
R. There are consequences and results in the corporeal outcomes and in the spiritual outcomes.
S. I’m trying to understand where this corporeality comes into this picture. You can imagine the first state, the thought of creation and we are in it, and then the third state we exist in it. But even when we explain it, it is not clear when things start become corporeal, this corporeal experience.
R. How it started?
S. Yeah, how does it happen?
R. Where this corporeality is from?
S. Yes, at what point does it start to become corporeal?
R. In our feelings gradually reveals a force of in order to receive and we begin to feel in it, in this force, more and more that we exist independently until we reach sins and disconnections, until we feel ourselves existing in this world. We are depicting this world and we are imagining it.
S. And this happens gradually?
R. Gradually, gradually. Absolutely.
S. So where between the first and the second state is there a place that you feel half corporeal and half spiritual or is there like a slice?
R. Yes, yes, precisely.
S. Can you explain such an existence? Should we know what this depiction is? Because we want to come closer to it when we go on our way upward.
R. Please improve your relations with the friends and you will begin to feel that you exist in a new environment, in a new world, in new relations, more and more higher relations. Then you will rise to a degree where everyone will be close friends, beloved, ‘love your neighbor as yourself’, and so on.
S. So it’s easy to imagine this world as being in a corrected state, but changing into a spiritual existence that’s weird. It’s like this or that. That gradient isn’t clear.
R. Why either this or that? It’s gradually. Also the relations between people gradually change in all sorts of manners that could have dozens of changes and calculations that give a sense of a new world to a person.
S. And the corporeal feeling will gradually disappear?
R. Corporeality is in order to receive.
S. Yeah?
R. Yes, it will disappear. Maybe I’m not getting your question. Ask more.
2. S. (06:40) He explains that at the end of what we just read that all other creatures have no existence of their own. We see people that try to correct the still, the vegetative, to correct this and that.
R. It’s for nothing.
S. So what do people in this world have to do to fix it?
R. Only connect and accordingly all of nature would be correct.
S. How does it happen because we see climate problems, holes in the ozone, things that seem that are not connected to men, so how is it connected, there are earthquakes, volcanoes.
R. If a person would see a direct relation between him and others and the behavior of the still, vegetative and animate that would obligate him, he would use it as a weapon against others. That is why he does not see exactly the connection between this and that.
3. S. (08:07) I will try to continue the previous question, this picture that I see, the friends, the world, the stars, it exists in the first state? Is there a difference between me and what I see in my eyes, is this picture there?
R. I do not understand the question.
S. In a spiritual state, if we say the first state was completely spiritual, does this picture the reality as I see it, does it exist there? I see the friends, I see the world, I see nature, the stars, the universe, does this picture exist?
R. What you see now, you see it in your will to receive, will you see it in the new will to receive?
S. Yeah, was it there before and the next question is, will it exist at the end as well?
R. No, it is only according to your will to receive.
S. So this degree of will to receive is what is showing me this picture, but when we become spiritual it would disappear like it was in the first state?
R. Yes.
4. S. (09:48) In the second state, it seems we have some role, we are not eternal, we are like these beings that you cannot justify the Creator in the second state, but you need him for something, you need the second state in order to reach the third state, but if later on it is annulled, so why do we need it to begin with? Or do some discernments remain?
R. We are growing this above that, and that above this, and we cannot skip to the corrected state, we have to form it, we have to desire it, we have to ask for it and pray for it.
S. Do we keep some Impressions from it?
R. From all of the degrees.
S. So something from these incomplete states stays with us?
R. Until the end.
S. So I don’t understand what he means by annul it?
R. He annuls and enters and performs precisely, specifically the worst states.
S. I need to keep thinking about it.
R. Think and ask.
5. S. (11:13) What the friend read at the end, it reminds me of when you correct yourself, you will see that the whole world is corrected, because it says that the world raises and falls with you, is this the direction?
R. For now that’s it, yes.
6. S. (11:44) Baal HaSulam is asking that all other creatures except for man, that you should not even ask about them, because man is the center of the creation, what man is he asking about?
R. I do understand, he talks about a person, every person.

Reading “We must not ponder…”
S. Who is he talking about, he doesn’t mean the whole world, he says man himself, who is he talking about?
R. Every single person, as it is explained in the books, they take a person, any given person and they talk about him.
S. It seems that he is speaking above the ones with the wisdom of Kabbalah, is this the beast right?
R. Why can’t you ask like everyone, clearly and not explain to us what you want to explain.
S. I don’t want to explain.
R. Then stop, it’s enough.
7. S. (13:28) What spiritual support can man get from the degrees of the still, vegetative and animate?
R. In order to reach the degree of the speaking, he has to go through all of these degrees, that he receives them ready, as ready degrees, he needs to go over them, learn from them, be included in them and then he reaches the degree of the speaking. Then he understands as well the degrees of the still, vegetative and animate.
S. We learn there are degrees still, vegetative and animate in man and still, vegetative and animate that are lower. I’m asking about those, not those that are in the man, but those that are in nature?
R. In that we have nothing to say, this is how we receive them in the will to receive, the uncorrected will to receive of ours.
S. He says these degrees support man, that they help him?
R. Yes, because without them a person would not feel himself correctly, these degrees develop man to understand who he is.
8. S. (15:05) How does it happen that the form of our body does not exist in the thought of creation and how are we to understand that in order to do our work?
R. Our form does not exist in the thought of creation where there we are in order to bestow, in the complete form and the way we are now is in order to receive in the complete way. This is why this form is not in the thought of the creation, it exists there in the corrected state, but on the way to it we have to go through all of the degrees of correction in order to understand how we clothe every corrected degree upon the previous corrupted degree, and then in the gap between these degrees we attain, in the gaps specifically is where we attain the Creator, the intention of creation, the purpose of creation, we learn about the reasons and everything.
9. S. (16:34) How do we depict the corrected state between us?
R. The corrected state between us, we try to establish at the highest possible degree and the relationships between us, on the speaking degree, where we want to connect between us and want to support each other, even though we have inner ego, we reject from one another, if we connect in such a way, we start understanding creation, the secret of creation, the essence of creation, the purpose of creation.
10. S. (17:28) Is our perception of corporeality, is that the result of the shattering and if we connect gradually we will reverse this perception of reality through our connections?
R. Correct, correct.
11. S. (18:01) In the current perception of reality, we are the result of the shattering of a system called Adam HaRishon, the question is, does that picture that we see in our perception of reality still, vegetative, animate, are they parts of those degrees of the still, vegetative, animate in the soul of Adam HaRishon or does this belong to the general Malchut?
R. Again.
S. The perception of reality that we see now, is this the result of the shattering of Adam HaRishon right?
R. Yes.
S. So those degrees of the still, vegetative, animate that we see now in our current perception of reality, are those parts of those degrees inside the first Adam, or is it the same parts that belong to the general Malchut?
R. What is the difference?
S. The difference is whether it is the same parts that we were once connected in that system, and the system was inside, belonging to that system, or is it outside because there is a general Malchut or a more inner part of the Malchut called Adam HaRishon.
R. Everything is in the system of the will to receive and towards us, it is divided into the will to receive in all of its different forms, but in order to receive and in order to bestow corrected at the end of correction, it is all only towards us.
12. S. (20:23) How did the other creatures bring man to his wholeness?
R. The extra creatures instead of existing in us, they supposedly exist on the outside, and we do not have to correct them, maybe in our attitude towards them, as it’s written, you can eat that, you cannot eat that, and truly, man needs to only correct his desire to receive on the still, vegetative, animate words the friends, towards society.
S. How should I recognize this state I am in, on those degrees?
R. How can you recognize your state, I don’t understand.
S. You just said that only the still, vegetative, animate in man, towards the ten, how do I recognize those degrees in me so that I can come to the ten with them?
R. When you will be with the friends on some kind of degrees of connection, you will start discerning and you will be able to understand and see these things, what degree of connection you are with them, what measure of connection you have with them.
S. What do we do after this identification?
R. So you understand it, you understand what degree you are on.
S. So all these revolutions are supposed to awaken a more pointed prayer, what am I supposed to do with them?
R. It will show you what kind of connection, in what way you are connected to other people.
S. That connection influences the perception of reality?
R. Of course, you will see them as parts of you.
S. I will identify in the friends also that part in me, in the still, vegetative, animate?
R. Yes.
13. S. (22:51) Continuing this discussion, this picture, and you have this thought of creation, and you said creation is not included in it, but we go from phase 1 to phase 2 to phase 3, but where does this picture go, this picture is the thought of creation, but we’re not included in it, how do we get included in the thought of creation?
R. As much as we connect with one another, we feel that we are incorporated in the thought of creation. The thought of creation is the plan that sustains all created beings together, so as much as we connect between us, we feel that we are in that same plan.
S. So this picture that was mentioned, is there and stays, only our vessels are not suitable.
R. Yes, correct.
S. How do we get this picture of the thought of creation in us, how can we help each other get this picture?
R. Only when our connections become more and more adapted to the corrected Malchut. There is nothing special here except for us, that we need to connect more and more.
14. S. (25:06) Is in every degree we reach a level of connection that stands of itself because sometimes I feel that I have a connection and sometimes I feel that I don’t have any connection at all?
R. It will come, now we are in the actual scrutinies in the path and we do not see the results yet, just wait a little bit more. I understand that it is not simple to wait and when will it happen, but you will find the answer, the solution, and the connection between you. It is not simple, it is not easy, and we are not drawing to it specifically on the contrary, but you will find that answer. I really hope that it will come quickly, specifically I think that the Turkish women will discover it relatively quick, because on one hand they have a good big desire, on the other hand, their character is hard, is very piercing. So it seems to me that these two forms, when they will be revealed even more, it will give you an ability to discover the spiritual states quickly. Good luck.
15. S. (27:26) As we progress the corporeal world, it is as if it gains more importance in all its degrees, still, vegetative, animate for us?
R. Yes.
16. S. (28:08) From a different direction maybe. Let’s say there is a feeling at a Congress, you said you look at the friends, there is a very inner state, the connection is very important, this is the most important thing in reality, and you feel you are in the different place with his friend, even one friend, not not even with the whole ten, and sometimes there’s a moment where you feel outside of this reality, you feel your body here, the question is at this moment, when there is this type of inner connection, the corporeal does not exist for us as if, but it’s still exists?
R. I do understand what you’re saying, it’s all towards the person.
S. Okay great, so towards the person that is in this state, where only the connection with the friend is the most important and only this moment exists, where do you meet the other parts of reality?
R. Until it awakens in your feelings.
S. In the meantime the rest of reality as if it doesn’t?
R. Towards you it doesn’t exist.
S. But a second go I said in a room.
R. That was a moment ago, I don’t understand what you’re trying to ask?
S. We always talk about the change in the relationship, change in this relationship, all of our work is to change our attitude towards and we say how it impacts all of reality and in the end, this world disappears, this state in the third stage, so I want to understand, how does it happen, reality is going to be transparent somehow, people will begin to start walking through walls, I’m not talking about the five senses, but how did this gradual change where this rough reality disappears in the feeling, we say in the feeling, but where does this happen?
R. In your feelings, I don’t understand you, in your feelings, does America exist right now?
S. As a memory it exists, but I can open the TV and see something.
R. So you’re asking about your perception of reality?
S. Yes, how did it change when it broke and how is it going to change when we connect, this transition, it is not clear.
R. It cannot be clear because you don’t have the vessels yet.
S. Yes, that is clear, but when do you begin to acquire the vessels, then suddenly these vessels towards [..]
R. You expand your vessels of perception and then you have past, present, and future, what was, what will be, it all enters this general picture.
S. So it is as if an additional channel in this corporeal channel, the limited?
R. Yes let’s say so, like an adult compared to a child, a child sees something very short from life, from here to there, and an adult can grasp life in a completely different framework.
S. Right, so the perception expands, but both of them still have the concept of the corporeal body that sometimes happens in the corporeal body, both of them are impacted, it doesn’t matter whether it’s the adults’ expanded perception or the young one’s limited, this perception of the corporeal, does it disappear or change?
R. Towards the person attaining, it is all towards the one who is attaining.
17. S. (32:37) We say that everything is towards the one who attains, and we have the person who sees and then there is the object, this picture that is created, and that object, it is all a part of his qualities and what we studied 2 days ago with Rabbi Hiya who went to the place above and it all begins to dress in the clothing of this world, it is not that I do not see something with my vision but it’s that Rabbi Hiya has something that isn’t here, and it is not my perception, it is him.
R. I do not know what works or not. Guys, we want to speak about reality, that is not perceived in us, even a bit, and nothing, that more than this world, as it is written, “the judge only has what his eyes can see”, we cannot grasp anything beyond this world, what are you jumping on perceiving the upper world suddenly?
18. S. (34:03) I have the question about the Klipa of the body, I see that I’m doing, walking on this path according to the Klipa of the body, through pain and suffering and very rarely doing something, what am I doing wrong?
R. What you are doing wrong, 100% of what you’re doing, is doing it wrong.
S. So what can I do correctly?
R. Change yourself gradually, from hatred to love of others to whoever is outside of you because you have to understand that outside of you there is only the Creator.
S. How do I do it practically because I have a full frame work every morning lesson, a role here, a duty there, what is missing?
R. You are missing love of other people. No more than that. That to grab that direction and never come off of it.

19. R. (39:12) This is relatively smooth. If there’s no questions we can just keep going.
Item #20 (39:27) “After all that we have said, we come to the resolution of our first inquiry…”
20. R (42:33) So what is there to say here?He’s actually explaining everything.
21. S. (42:43) We are reading and hearing that all of our suffering is from the will to receive for oneself, why do we grasp onto him so much and die and suffer and cannot let go of it?
R. We have nothing except for that.
S. But still there’s nothing to lose other than suffering.
R. Those are just your nice and wise words. The desire is not just words, it is our essence. That is why we cannot let it go, and in order to convince the Creator to give us such desires that will be instead of current egoistic desires, and for this we must connect in order to force him and in order to connect we have to uplift above ourselves above our small, private ego.
S. Precisely for that I can ask not for myself but for others?
R. Correct.
22. S. (46:02) I didn’t understand the whole second line where the lack of time and completing time and everything it says there.
R. You don’t even have a book.
S. [Reading excerpt]
R. Meaning that we don’t have such a feeling if we reach the state like he is talking about so we don’t feel that we have missed out on anything. No, everything is there. Even if we have not reached the third state yet we feel that it is before us, and it is for sure that we will reach it, right? Since we have no doubt about it so it says that if we reached that state that is given to us now and it does not blemish our actions because it will all be annulled along with the system of the Tuma which is their source and all that is bound will be burned is deemed burned regarded as though it never existed. So what are you asking about that?
S. What does it mean that there’s no time?
R. From the lack of time that we need this time and the fact that we are in this confidence that we have already attended this. So supposedly it is not important for us whether we are in Gmar Tikkun or not in Gmar Tikkun, we are already to be completely in the state where we are already corrected.
