Part 1:

1. Zohar for All. “Introduction of The Book of Zohar”. “Mother Lends Her Clothes to Her Daughter”. #20

1. Rav’s Introduction: Yes, let’s try to feel that we are reading together and feeling together and participating together for the Creator to illuminate for all of us together this introduction of the book of Zohar.

Reading 20 (00:44)

2. R. (09:20) In the meantime somehow we are going through the text. If you have any question here, the Zohar is trying to show us that in the connection between the Creator and created beings it goes in a clear way; the light of Hassadim, the light of Hochma the vessels of Hassadim and the vessels of Hochma, and this is how he brings the person to wholeness as it says it indicates existence and wholeness.

Reading 21 (10:13)

3. R. (15:02) That’s it. By this week we will conclude this article. This is how mother is lending her clothes to the daughter, meaning Bina gives her clothing of Hassadim to ZAT de Bina and then there is an opportunity to receive the light of Hochma in all the vessels. Basically this later spread down until the final correction.

4. S. (15:44) What is the upper world that is mentioned several times?

R. A few things here, first of all Bina itself is the upper world and YESHSUT, ZAT of Bina is the lower world, Malchut, wherever there is the light of Hassadim is the upper world, and when there is a deficiency for it is the lower world. Usually with respect to the light of Hochma it is said here mainly about the light of Hassadim because if there is light of Hassadim, the person can already feel himself existing in the upper degree.

S. I am sorry but it is written that in the Nukva there are qualities that exist in the Nukva and how can that be?

R. This is in the future. When the Nukva is corrected then the upper world will be in it.

5. S. (17:07) He is reading the Book of Zohar everyday and came across the word VAK, what is that? What is the function of this word?

R. VAK means six ends, rather than ten, six, VAK. It is a un-whole degree. The light of Hassadim instead of the light of Hochma, so this degree is called VAK, incomplete degree.

S. When we read about VAK of Bina into or VAK of something else, how does this work? How to relate to this?

R. This is half of a degree, it is simple, it is not a complete degree, a not sufficient force in order to bestow.

6. S. (18:41) And as the Mochin de AVI are whole in the number 600,000, not one of them is missing, the Nukva is whole in that number, not one of them is missing, this is what we are reading at the end, who are those that are not missing?

R. This is all about the bestowal of the force, from Bina down to the desire to receive, to Malchut and soon we are going to read the end there.

S. So is it not connected to mankind?

R. No, this is all about the higher system, of the upper system. Sometimes he gives some resemblance to mankind but this has nothing to do with that, no. In general the mother giving her clothing to the daughter is about the GAR de Bina, passing on its forces of bestowal to ZAT de Bina, or even to ZON.

7. S. (20:00) Tell me please, can we say that when the Mochin appear or are revealed in this way they are the corrected thoughts that help justify the others, or if I already justified the others?

R. Well you can say that, when Mochin appears then there are vessels through which the light can pass on from above downwards.

S. This is what you said before that the Nukva is being corrected and all this in our yearning for bestowal which is called here Malchut rising to Bina?

R. Yes.

8. S. (21:05) What is Betzalel, what does it imply that the Creator chose him?

R. That the Creator chose him? This is considered that he organized vessels for him that may grow, become corrected and shift themselves from the light of Hassadim even to the light of Hochma.

9. S. (22:01) Can you explain what is Avir?

R. Avir, air, is the light of Hassadim without the light of Hochma in it. That’s called air or empty air.

10. S. (22:33) What is the 60th degree, 600,000?

R. 600,000 is all the vessels of reception because they are ZA and its intensity is 60, Hesed, Gevura, Tifferet, Netzach, Hod, Yesod, that’s 6 x 10, that’s 60. And if it rises to the degree of Arich Anpin it’s x 10,000, that’s 600,000. The complete correction of the vessels of ZON is called 600,000.

11. S. (23:33) In what is the light of Hassadim expressed in the person that is on the path?

R. In giving him the feeling of the grip in the faith, to be above the force of reception.

12. S. (23:59) The six edges, half at degree, not enough force, not enough force for what?

R. To receive in order to bestow.

S. So if I’m half a degree I’m not receiving?

R. No.

13. S. (24:24) What happens to the Nukva when she falls to the world of Assiya because we call this world Nukva?

R. I don’t understand the question.

S. He’s asking what happens when Nukva falls to the world of Assiya and is it related to our world?

R. No, It’s not related to our world at all. We’re outside of all these worlds, we’re not yet in this system at all. We don’t have the force, we don’t have the connection either to ascend or to descend. To the extent that we connect between ourselves and demand corrections then we start entering all the systems of ascents and descents. But if we’re not yet connected to such an extent that it can elevate us we have neither ascents nor descents and we don’t even have the ladder.

14. S. (26:09) When I read the text and I try to penetrate it, I get feelings and sensations and when I move away from the text and go back to it, it is like I am reading it anew. Is this because I lack the light of Hassadim?

R. No, it is always going to be this way, every time anew always, even if you go back and go over it 100 times and the next time you will feel it as anew again. That is the quality of the Kabbalistic texts because in them there is the light.

15. S. (27:05) Can we ask what is the difference between the way in which the Mochin are revealed in a person and how the MAN is revealed in him?

R. We do not yet have these possibilities to feel. Mochin is usually about the light of Hochma and we don’t yet have the vessels to receive in order to bestow, that’s still far.

16. S. (27:50) How can clothes go from the mother to the daughter, to different systems, to different vessels?

R. GAR of Bina and ZAT of Bina. They may connect, they have the same nature, it’s only different degrees.

S. From GAR of Bina to ZON, how can clothes fit in both places?

R. No, from GAR of Bina to ZON that’s a problem, that’s different, it’s not GAR of Bina and ZAT of Bina. There the degrees only GAR and ZAT, from GAR of Bina to ZON, that’s a whole different world. Soon we will talk, here we don’t yet talk about it. Here we’re talking about the degree of Bina and about ZON we’ll speak later. It’s possible that it’s in the next article already.

17. S. (29:06) The Creator is very meticulous and I am prone to mistakes, to error. How can we increase the importance of this meticulousness in the ten so we can draw the light into the centre of the ten

R. Through the connection between us even if we are making mistakes in general in the end of this action we correct each other and the Creator understands what we wanted. He doesn’t make this meticulous calculation with each and everyone but rather with everyone together.

18. S. (30:09) We read in the article that MA when arises it becomes MI and unites with ELEH so what characterizes actions that cause the changing of the name?

R. To rising from ZAT to GAR. All in all we’re talking about increasing the force of bestowal from the upper to the lower, to what extent it’s adhered to the upper.

19. S. (30:48) Who clothes this Nukva which never disappears? Who clothes it, the Creator or whom?

R. I don’t exactly understand what he’s asking. The question we raise clothes in a higher degree that interprets it and explains it, and this is why the lower one understands better what he is lacking in order to be adhered to and understand the upper one. And this is what is happening here.

20. S. (31:52) From where do I get the strength to compliment what is missing?

R. Everything is from above, there is no question, everything is from above.

S. Is there something active I can do about it, pray or what?

R. Pray, it’s stronger the way you look at the upper and have a stronger prayer.

S. Is this personally or in the ten as a unit?

R. Yes.

21. S. (32:37) It seems like the Zohar works on us, operates on us in two ways. On one hand it gives us more strength to connect but also illuminates the differences, the separation between us. Is this feeling correct?

R. Look, the Zohar is the upper light that knows how to illuminate on us in such a manner that we advance. It’s like a teacher that relates to his class in a diverse way, some this way, some that way, here he puts pressure, here he may shout, he can explain, and here he doesn’t want to explain, etc. This is how he attends to the students and to the extent I understand I also do that, and this is how it’s also from above. And that’s why the upper light works in such ways that it prepares us for more advanced degrees.

S. It’s felt very much and when you’re in this elevator you feel these forces as separation or distance between us. What exactly should we do in order to continue running forward and not be alarmed by it?

R. The main thing is to expect answers as a result of the connection, of us coming closer. The way we come closer we’ll resemble the Creator, bestowal, love, connection, love your friend as yourself all-in-all. And from this we come closer to the Zohar and then we’ll start receiving the illumination from the Zohar, just as its name Zohar is from the upper radiance.

S. Basically returning to the Zohar and asking to get the strength to connect above what you revealed?

R. That’s all the time, all the time, to barely come out of it.

22. S. (35:14) You said that GAR of Bina and ZON are the world of Malchut. What is the difference between GAR of Bina and ZAT of Bina?

R. GAR of Bina doesn’t need the light of Hochma, it settles for Hassadim and ZAT of Bina are already vessels of reception, they need the light of Hochma.

S. The question was what is the difference between ZON and ZAT?

R. When the talk about part of a degree, ZAT is also part of the degree but it’s usually related to the system which is ZAT; maybe the back side, the separate part of the complete degree.

23. S. (36:28) Can we say in general that this entire system [..] what connects the lower part, ZAT and GAR, it’s the force of Hassadim, the force of love? Meaning if love opens up the desire, the yearning for the upper one, it’s so powerful and then the upper system gives to us and vice versa?

R. Yes.
