MITZVA 416 Not to forsake the Levites (Deut. 12:19); but their gifts (dues) should be given to them, so that they might rejoice therewith on each and every festival (negative). See Levi.

Deuteronomy Chapter 12 דְּבָרִים

יט  הִשָּׁמֶר לְךָ, פֶּן-תַּעֲזֹב אֶת-הַלֵּוִי, כָּל-יָמֶיךָ, עַל-אַדְמָתֶךָ.  {ס}

19 Take heed to thyself that thou forsake not the Levite as long as thou livest upon thy land. {S}
