Part 1:

Rosh HaShana – Selected Excerpts from the Sources

1. Rav’s Introduction: Yes my friends, we are now soon having the holiday of Rosh Hashanah and what does that mean? We will learn about the creation of the world, what was the status of the world before creation, what made creation happen, what was new in reality, what was the reality before creation, during creation and after creation, and what does that have to do with the person? What did the Creator do for such changes to take place in reality and everything that relates to the beginning of creation from which begins the process of creation until the very end of creation? It is already all included in the root in Rosh Hashanah, the head of the year.

Rosh, head refers to the place, the state from which everything originates and unfolds. And nothing new happens afterwards, what happens in the beginning simply unfolds. And so it’s important for us to know this process and try to join it, understand what we are supposed to do for it to go through, to happen in us each of us and all of us together. And by that we will advance to a state where we need to be, from the beginning of creation which is Rosh Hashanah and to the end of creation which is the end of the year, so let’s go bit by bit and we will clarify it.

Reading excerpt #1 (02:24) “Tree of Knowledge: they must believe there is a leader…”

2. R. (04:05) And this condition will not change. We will always have to have faith above reason if we want to be in contact with the upper light, the Creator, but that’s what we need to achieve to attain.

Reading again (04:22) twice

3. S. (07:44) There are three types of faith, I don’t understand what they each depend on which the simple faith, faith above reason, I’m not able to.

R. You can’t demand this excerpt to answer all your questions. He says one thing, we fell from some place of wholeness, some state of wholeness to a state that is incomplete, imperfect. In that state we’re under the force of self-love and that’s what dwells in us and determines our thoughts, desires, our whole perception of reality.

The whole of reality we see is through a device called self-love. And what we’ll need to do and we still don’t know exactly what and how but we’re going to have to come out of this control, this device called self-love and come to state that is above it, where we see outside of this device of self-love. Then we will emerge from the concealment, through the restriction of self-love that we have into a state where we see everything non-restricted and not concealed.

S. So it’s more logical for him to write that a person needs to know, but here it says he needs to believe?

R. The matter of Faith here is not explained, you cannot take a word from the paragraph and demand to understand it right now. We study specifically about faith in other places. Faith means the force of Bina, the force of bestowal that a person acquires with which he sees the different world.

S. What is simple faith?

R. Faith is a force of bestowal that a person receives from above and then he starts looking at the world differently, not through his egoistic desire and that changes his whole observation, his whole reality. Just as he sees the world right now he shifts to a different perception of the world, from a corporeal perception to a spiritual perception.

4. S. (10:37) The upper light illuminates us all the time and we’re always trying to work with it, but what role do these holidays play? Does it demand from us more work? And what does it mean a weekday versus a holiday?

R. On The one hand we say Israel, meaning those who long for the Creator, are above stars and fortunes which means above the holidays. And generally above all the days of the week, whether it’s a Sunday, Monday, Tuesday or Saturday, there is no such thing. Meaning a person who is making spiritual actions, to him as it says, the righteous is always in a state of Shabbat.

Therefore all those days that we have in our world, it’s just a custom, and accordingly we can carry it out in order to have some basis for remembering and discussing the stages of corrections, spiritual corrections that we can undergo in anytime, any day, whatever time of the year, it doesn’t matter. So much so that you can say about any day of the week that now you’re in Shabbat, as it writes that the righteous is always in a state of Shabbat, meaning he’s corrected. And one who’s not corrected, to him all those days, the weekdays are called ordinary weekdays and he doesn’t rise in any day to a degree. So we need to determine, to define these things very simply, it’s all with respect to the worker. We’ll talk about it more.

5. S. (12:56) My question is I’ve been scrutinizing it and it’s about to reach this Arvut, the purpose of creation. Shouldn’t we first, if I understand it, reach the total opposite, that we are definitely not in it so we can develop this yearning and ask for Arvut, all of us together to reach all of us? As I understand it, that should be Rosh Hashana and that is actually every day, it’s not a special day but..

R. No. Rosh Hashana is the beginning of man’s spiritual development when he begins to differentiate between desires to receive and desires to bestow in him and he’s connected to the spiritual ascent, then it’s called Rosh Hashana, more or less. We’re going to be more precise with this definition later. That’s one thing, second thing is that we have to be accurate in that everything is named by the person, even the head of the month is what is called by the person because in spirituality it’s something very significant. The moon plays a very big role in spirituality, the moon and the sun are as the two great lights. So how do we refer to the head of the month? When people look at the moon and say yes, we can all see and agree between us that the moon is full, and then they come to a specific kind of courthouse that used to have in Jerusalem and they would say we’ve seen the full moon.

Then everyone sends out a message that we are now at the head of the month. And this determines many things because everything is done, determined by this calendar, that from this head of the month to the next head of the month and in between, we have the days and the nights and the weeks and Saturdays and everything is determined accordingly. All in all everything is determined by the human, by human beings and it’s not that it comes from above. Even though it comes from above a person must identify and agree to take on these signs and work with them, with all of nature, with the whole cosmos.

6. S. (16:15) My question is how can we bring this understanding in the mind, in the heart and experience above reason in order to reach connection?

R. This is truly the most important question and the most correct. Faith above reason means that my force of bestowal can be more than my force of reception, that I restrict my will to receive and I tried to relate to everything that appears as outside of me only through the force of bestowal. And in that attitude I begin to see an opposite world, a spiritual world.

7. S. (17:30) We always hear that faith in our studies is attainment, the fuel. So what should we do until we are truly in this faith, to be in the right attitude towards the Creator?

R. Faith tells us that we need to rise above our ego, as if I have no egoistic force and I relate to the other, to the group, to the friends only by a force of bestowal, only by the force of bestowal. Try to do that without questions, without questions. That’s it, without questions.

8. S. (18:53) Is it because that we were broken that we have individual work?

R. Yes, the Creator prepared some work for us when He broke the connection between us and then instead of being bonded with each other in a single mind, single heart, one desire, we don’t understand what that is. But we don’t have anything left from that state besides some record that’s working internally, pulling us to that whole state, but we don’t remember and we don’t understand that state. The Creator deliberately shattered it for us to long to collect from that state bit by bit, information, impressions, data and somehow put it all together in a way like in a puzzle we will be able to assemble against our ego, in spite of our ego.

To put ourselves together in a way that we can bond with each other and build this entire building of Adam HaRishon in its complete form. Certainly there are many different forces here, working in favor and against, confusing us and helping us. And like a child who’s really making an effort and sweating trying to put the pieces together and can’t build the building, it doesn’t follow the picture of the puzzle that he’s supposed to see and so on until we give him a little bit of help from the side, where he doesn’t think that we’re helping and he thinks he’s doing it. And thus by many attempts he builds it, he builds the building and he achieves the final correction, that’s the work.

9. S. (21:38) What’s the first sin of Adam HaRishon?

R. The first sin or iniquity is that he tasted in order to receive and after that he became attached to in order to receive and this is called I ate and I shall eat more. Since then he’s drawn to the action of receiving and it’s difficult for him to detach from it and go back to in order to bestow. The initial form of Adam HaRishon which was complete in this kind of spherical shape where he understood and felt that it’s possible to feel and enjoy and receive only for providing to everyone and everyone provides to Him. And thus he enjoys the unity that exists in connection and not receiving. That’s the difference, it’s an essential difference, what do I enjoy? I enjoy being with everyone together or I’m enjoying receiving from everyone. This is basically the force of the shattering that came about.

10. S. (23:20) The entrance into spirituality this is on Rosh Hashana or Passover?

R. No, we don’t relate to the entrance of spirituality to some certain dates. We’ll talk about it, there is an issue here in terms of what these holidays symbolize, these Earthly holidays what each and every one symbolizes in spirituality but there’s no connection, there’s no direct connection. You could be, and Rabash writes it in one of the articles, that you can be in the time of Rosh Hashana and be in Passover and during Passover you could be in the state of Sukkot or any day of the week, you could be in any state that you attain. So it’s unrelated to our calendar. It’s unrelated to the rotations of the earth and the orbiting of the Moon and the Sun and so forth.

11. S. (24:37) I understand that Rosh Hashana the point of Rosh Hashana in our world but how can you have a beginning of a month in spirituality where there’s no time?

R. In Rosh Hashana begins time, and that’s when the month begins and everything. This is the state that relates to what happened to Adam HaRishon.

Reading excerpt number 2 (25:19) “ the failure that Adam HaRishon..”

12. R. (26:22) Meaning that a person will feel that he belongs to a system which has to be a complete system, where there is one unique and unified force that operates and it’s called the Creator. And He created the whole system and all the parts of the system which are the created beings, and we all have to go back to that system to discover the force that gave birth to us in a complete way. To feel Him, to sense Him and to grow it more and more by our own efforts.

13. S. (27:06) In the second passage what does it mean until the Lord your God?

R. Until the Lord your God meaning we have to reach a stage where we are bonded with the Creator in a way that there is no distance between us, between all of us and the Creator, we are all becoming one. It’s hard to describe what that is but if we exit our body, our five senses our five corporeal senses and we exist only in a desire, in the desire there can be such connection between us where there’s no difference between all the desires. They all join together they all hold each other and in the connection between these desires we feel the glue that binds it, the force that circulates between us, and that’s the Creator. And thus we reach from the love of the created beings to the love of the Creator.

14. S. (28:39) It says here that a person needs to be rewarded with the quality of faith so that he can attain godliness personally.

R. You’re working in a force of bestowal, we have nothing besides these two forces, bestowal and reception, that’s it. So if we achieve the force of bestowal that means we achieve the force of the Creator, that’s his quality, only. And besides Him what He created is a force of reception, to make it different so that we the created beings can tell the difference between what’s outside of Him and what is Him.

S. Let’s say a person is trying to work with his friends in the ten and bestow to them and incorporate in them and somehow he wants to bestow to them but how is that connected to the sensation of godliness?

R. Godliness is the force of bestowal and love. If we try to build between us despite our ego or specifically on top of our ego that quality of bestowal then we get closer to the quality of the Creator, to godliness. That’s what it is.

15. S. (30:33) If we’re in a state of lack of faith what actions will bring us to the awareness that the Creator is managing us and leading us to the correct, right intention of the good that does good?

R. The actions are simple. With whatever you can come closer to the friends with anything that will bring you to inner connection between them. Inner connection means that the Creator is there and the friend yearns to get closer to the Creator so with those qualities that he wants to get closer to the Creator I want to be with him. This is called one shall help his friend. He wants to connect to the Creator through some inclination, some action and I want to help Him in that, to take part in that, and he participates with me and I with him and all of us together. And if we try to do this in the group in a more and more internal way, also in externality and corporal aspects but in spirituality mostly, then we will certainly come closer to each other and then the Creator will have a place to help us. And He will deliberately start all kinds of disturbances between us so that we want Him to participate with us. He’s very jealous which means He also wants to be with us in actions of bestowal. The Creator is jealous and when we are drawn to something together He also wants to be there in different ways, in favour and against and in opposite forms, different ways; but in order to give us more forces of bestowal, this is what’s called within my people do I dwell. The moment we are drawn to something in connection and towards the goal He’s there.

16. S. (33:34) What’s the immediate sign in the will to receive that a person determines that he has no power of faith?

R. That he doesn’t want to connect with the friends, there’s nothing more obvious here.

S. If I feel suffering in my will to receive this already means I don’t have the power of faith?

R. Yes of course.

17. S. (34:06) We learned that you cannot attain the Creator only through the group and this passage speaks about personal attainment, so what’s the right attitude to this?

R. We need to bring them together and try to work as one.

S. What comes becomes what? How does that work?

R. First we depict what is the complete group and then we make all the actions we can to be in it.

S. But I’m depicting to myself as an individual in a group and that’s what I need to bring to the group?

R. You need to incorporate in the group with eye shuts and without philosophies. If the Kabbalists tell you that’s what you need to do, then that’s what you need to do. And the more you go try to go around it and say no, then it will just take more years until you agree.

S. I just want to understand it though.

R. It’s not about understanding it’s about doing it, that’s the whole difference. That’s what I’m telling you to do it, not understand it.

18. S. (35:23) You said that the Creator is a jealous God and I have a feeling maybe it’s my personal feeling but the Creator is not some grandpa in the skies, it’s a quality. So how can a quality be jealous?

R. You should think about it. I could give you an answer but just think about it. That’s what the Torah writes.

19. S. (35:59) Is it correct to look at it in such a way in a logical way, in the logic of the upper world of thought that it’s only the governance of the Creator and He’s good that does good?

R. Yes this is the cornerstone of the understanding, feeling, revelation of the Creator and generally all of the correct relation to creation. That we work within a single force, the good that does good, that He created us the opposite so that we can study Him from our point, from our ego and convert our ego to His quality.

S. Meaning each observation, every research it needs to begin from this thought. And this is actually the difference between whether or not I’m in my ego or..

R. This is what we call Israel, Yasher El, straight to the Creator which means we’re opposite to the Creator and we want to reach the Creator.

20. S. (37:21) To receive the force of faith: yesterday we had a situation in the ten where a person was stuck in this state where he couldn’t get out of it in any logical way and the ten thought about it, prayed about it and then after two hours the problem was solved, like it was nothing. My question is what is this power that really changes reality? Is it that we did it together, that we wanted to do it? What changed the state?

R. I don’t know. I think you should continue, not that much but at least one more time in order to understand what’s happening to you and how you did it and how to use it next time.

S. Should we be more strict about next time understanding that this force works more than we want it to work, believe it will work?

R. No. You can’t use this force in an automatic fashion. Each time you’re going to have to renew it.

21. S. (38:34) What states do we need to ask the Creator for, for the ten?

R. Only connection, there is nothing else to ask of the Creator, only connection. In connection we discover all our states, for and against and what we need to do, each of our inner states for each of us and all of us together, only connection. There really is nothing else in creation after the Creator designed the soul of Adam HaRishon and broke it, shattered it, there’s only one thing that we have left to do, connect the broken pieces.

22. S. (39:39) What should we add to our work to feel Rosh Hashanah as a ten?

R. We have to connect to between us. So there is the initial connection between us where we begin our path and that’s how we will advance further and further until the final correction. That’s why it’s called Rosh Hashanah, head of the year. The head from the word change, the beginning of the changes; that we are going now starting to move towards our goal, towards the final correction. That’s what we want to continue determine now, how we’re studying, what to do and how to organize ourselves. And we’ll certainly try that spiritual development will be as the progress of our calendar or even to go along with it.

23. S. (41:06) There is a feeling that in daily spiritual ins-and-outs somehow the Creator is erasing them from the mind. It’s like you have been through a spiritual state and suddenly it’s like you never experienced it, it disappears from the memory. I am sure that I have been through it but suddenly the Creator is erasing all of this from the mind. What is the reason for this and how can I work with it?

R. We shouldn’t relate to that. We should accept these things each time as necessary on the path, necessary, time and again. And even though we don’t understand and don’t agree with it and they seem to be against us these changing states we need to accept them as what the Creator gives us, like in a game, a new state from which we have to continue the game. Then we’ll see once we grow a bit more and grow out of this state to the next state, or maybe two states into the future or three states, we will understand why we had to have the states we had. Just like when you’re little, you cannot understand yourself but when you grow up a little and you look at the little ones you can do something about it.

If I were two years old and I had a one year old brother and my mother would tell me play with him and I didn’t want to even though I was two and he was one, but when I was five or six years old and my mother would ask me to play with my one year old then I would already be a few years older and I would understand that I need to help my mother and play with him. So we gradually grow and better understand the states we’re going through. And then we gain experience, that all of these impressions from all of the years we go through they accumulate in us, and from that we understand both what happened to us in the past and also what is destined to happen in the future. So that’s how we will advance.

24. S. (44:15) You said that we have to keep. What should we keep and not believe, other than pretty words for the benefit of the friends? What should we keep here?

R. I see in front of me my veteran student who is with me now maybe 20 years, and still asking what do I need to keep. You need to keep the effort, to connect with the friends in order to describe in our connection something of the force of bestowal which is already the quality of the Creator. That’s what you need to keep.

S. Can you define what is it mean to exert in the direction of the friends? What is that?

R. It means to come closer to them as much as possible, help each and every one be connected with the others and then check our connection between us. Can we find in it some inner common point between us? And around that point we’ll make a common effort until it begins to ignite, to become like a fire source from which we can all get warm, receive something, that’s our common point between us. That common point will later appear as the Creator. This is called you have made me.

S. Is there any connection between this effort and the holiday of Rosh Hashana?

R. Yes, that coming to that is for us a new beginning, a spiritual beginning.

25. S. (46:40) The realization of a person, is it a correct use of the desire? Meaning the soul of the person should teach him, meaning Lishma, to receive with the intention to bestow contentment to his maker and not to himself. The question is why is it important to the Creator that the created being will love him?

R. It really is a question. Why is it important to the Creator? It’s important to the Creator that a person will be in the quality of love as the Creator has towards everyone because that’s how man attains all of reality.

Reading excerpt #3 (47:33 – 50:32) “You have made me: it is known that..” Twice

26. S. (50:37) It is written that a person keeps the commandant of choice and then the Creator reveals himself to Him, what is that choice?

R. It’s that the Creator is ‘the first and last’ and the only one operating; and if a person has to choose that the Creator is first and last and no one else is operating in reality. And if a person makes that choice, then he comes to a state where he begins revealing the Creator.

S. What’s the right way to make this choice?

R. Well, it’s not you on your own, you have to have support from the group here and receiving the light from above, you can’t, none of us can, make any actions that will be an action of Correction. The act of correction is already after the shattering of Adam Harishon , it involves connection between at least a few pieces, at least two, as it says, “the minimum of the many is two”. And when they want to connect with each other, for that they have to draw the light that reforms so the Creator will influence them and help assist their connection and, in their connection, they can reveal some movement, some quality that is spiritual, otherwise no.

A person inside of himself, inside his ego he cannot discover any spiritual quality which is above the will to receive but when each one wants to incorporate with the other, the two want to do the same towards each other, then as they integrate with each other and want to take on themselves the desire of the other two help the other, as it says, “one shall help his friend”. So by that each of them becomes included in the external vessel, as opposed to his own vessel, and in that external vessel opposite his vessel, he can begin to feel what’s above him and that’s already the quality of the Creator, the quality of bestowal. And then they reach a state where the minimum of the many is two, meaning even two making that kind of connection can already through their connection with the other to feel the connection with the Creator because they can develop in each one a quality a tendency of bestowal and that’s how spiritual progress takes place.

S. He said “you can do it with support”, meaning reaches a state, but the state is internal for a person. How in the ten can we give such support that will be able to reach it?

R. You will be willing to incorporate with the friend and be an additional force so that he will be connected to the Creator and I will be like an addition, it’s like an addition to me, I get nothing out of it. That means I’m not in the force of bestowal yet, so I want him to take me as an added force and by connecting with me, he can reach the Creator because he has a force of bestowal on my part.

S. I have my friend here who’s sitting next to me, how do I incorporate in him so that he will take my power of bestow and use it to reach the Creator?

R. You have to talk about this a lot and bring this matter closer to you so it becomes clear to everyone and thus you will get closer and connect more and discuss it a little bit. But the main thing is the inner dialogue that a person makes with himself as much as he can and it depends on how much you review our lessons, listen to them again, want to actualize them internally each of you and I have to imagine that my friends are ready for it even though I don’t see it.

27. S. (56:07) In what do I make the Creator, “King over me”, what’s happening here?

R. By accepting Him as the great and ruler who is governing everything, He made you, He made all the conditions for you, He gave you thought and desire, what we call heart and mind, and He did all of that for you. And now from all of this data that He prepared for you, now you have to try and advance towards connection. What you have less left to do is only connection; and also, the connection itself He does it for you, He makes the connection for you only according to your demand. So you have to start the action of Correction and then you have to say the Creator will finish it for me.

S. (57:37) You said in order to build the spiritual vessel, you have to incorporate in the desire the of the friends and then ask for the reforming light and then we attain the power of faith. Meaning inside the person he cannot obtain the power of faith inside of him but only outside of him in the spiritual vessel?

R. Correct, within the person there is no spirituality, only when he connects to someone else and wants to bestow to the friends and want to connect to him, that means he has the spiritual Kli. When I connect a friend to me, that’s actually building the spiritual vessel in me, so the true spiritual vessel is the ten that gets connected, it’s not even two, but the minimum of the many is two that is how you can start.

S. So with which power does the person continue to work until he discovers in practice the power of faith, with which motive power is he working with?

R. From his ego, from wanting to advance to what he thinks is important based on his Reshimo, this record, and that it, not from any spiritual force. Spiritual force is still far from him until he connects to at least one friend, two and so forth, until he asks for connection with them and begins to discover his qualities and theirs and how they can and become as one, become a structure of the Partzuf. From that structure forming between them, the connection between them across the whole complete ten when everyone bestows to everyone and no one is to himself, then they will also be able to be a vessel for the fulfillment of the Creator so the Creator can enter them and fulfill them.

S. So the ego in effect is the power, is the replacement of the power of faith while you still don’t have the vessel?

R. Faith is what we build from transcending the ego.

29. S. (01:00:30) Is it correct to say that the commandment of choice is: in the ten we look at everything that is happening from the fundamental point that there is None Else besides Him and He is Good who does good and then the revelation of the Creator means that this faith of ours, we check it and it becomes our reason, is it correct?

R. For now, yes, later on we will look into this.

30. S. (01:01:16) Forgive me for repeating the question one more time but if we are all trying to get into one thought that the Creator is One, and He is the Good who does good, even the evil is good that we can actually connect those two things and see that this is benefiting us. Even if it draws us apart, we try to get closer to Him anyway, and we do it for the force of this togetherness by the yearning to be together and discover Him and be in His, how to say, in His qualities?

R. In the meantime, yes, everything is changing for us, everything is changing every moment.

31. S. (01:02:23) About decision, the choice, we in the ten we made a common decision, truly together, now how did we scrutinize the decision we made is actually the decision that serves the desire of the Creator?

R. I don’t know, I don’t know, ask yourselves, ask the Creator, scrutinize it and go ahead. You have to learn, you have to learn how to make some steps on your own, that is why we call it a new beginning, Rosh HaShana.

32. S. (01:03:06) What kind of behavior does a person need to have in order to realize, recognize that he is keeping the Torah and Commandments?

R. To try and bring his heart closer to the friends, there is no other form of keeping Torah and Mitzvot. The whole keeping of Torah and Mitzvot is in order to connect ours heart to single heart as it was before the shattering.

33. S. (01:04:00) Reforming light begins to act, to work, when I invert my desire if it’s not my desire?

R. You can say so, yes, you can say that it works that way.

34. S. (01:04:25) He writes, :the whole world is full of His glory”, what is the connection between that and the ten?

R. I don’t know, think about it, it will get clearer, it will become clearer; of course, everything comes from the Creator, from the shattering and from our work that we connect to Him. Basically, the cut-off that was made here is the detachment between us and the Creator, and if we reconnect with Him we reorganize the whole shattered vessel.

Reading #4 twice (01:05:06 – 01:08:09)

35. R. So this means if they work in order to bestow to each other, the giver and the receiver, then no one is inferior towards the other because also the receiver, when he receives, he receives in order to bestow, and the giver gives in order to bestow. So both of them are in actually the same status of equivalence of form, alright?

36. S. (01:08:48) In this excerpt of Rabash’s text, I want to understand what is written, “I shall dwell within them”, we have this nature make sure that we constantly forget about this. Often times we make big leaps on this path, but on the other hand we fall asleep. What does it mean that “I will dwell among them”?

R. This doesn’t matter that we’re jumping or going backwards, we don’t really understand our states. As much as we can we just have to hold on to each other, the connection between us is vital because that is how we build ourselves as a vessel, no connection no Kli, simple is that, no connection no Kli. So we have to be connected and in our connection, we have to make sure that we have thoughts, desires, tendencies, intentions as close to each other as possible.

The fact that each of us internally is different, that is obvious to us, we’re not criticizing any of that, we have no way to check that. But externally in terms of how we express our equalities, we have to monitor all the time that we are aiming for the same state, the same goal, and that is how we are making the room for the Creator between us, so that He can enter and fulfill all of our desires.

There is no such desire in each and everyone, but between us when we want to help each other, that’s when we built this desire. From my desire to help the friend and the friend’s desire to help another friend and so forth, by these desires ‘one should help his friend’, through these desires, we build such desires that did not exist before, they did not exist before. Not in the time of the state of Adam HaRishon and not in the state of shattering, but now, thanks to the shattering, we can connect and build ourselves as one towards each other. And then in our tendency from one to the other and from one to the other, that is where we unlock new desires, the desire to incorporate, to assist, to help to serve, and there in these desires the Creator can be revealed, is that understood?

This is called “you have made Me”, because we are building here desires from the shattering and of course it is included with our address to the Creator, our plea, and we ask of Him and He helps us and makes it happen. But between us we are building those connections, those please from one friend to the other and Creator can appear in these new desires and there we discovered Him. This is what’s called “faith above reason”, this is what’s called the “reflected light”, that is our entire work: in connecting to each other and thus building the place for the Creator. We will work on it but this is the place.

37. S. (01:13:15) I don’t have a desire to be z force for the friends, to connect with the friends, how can I reach yearning for this?

R. You should continue without waiting to have a desire, keep going without the desire; the desire will also be built by the reforming light. We start without a desire without understanding, without anything, just like a newborn baby, he has got nothing but is being cared for. And then he grows up and that’s how we are, except we don’t see those forces, we can’t identify them, we can’t see they’re taking care of us but they do take care of us. We need to believe in treatment and you will see that it is truly so, gradually you will begin to discover the forces that take care of you and begin to turn to them, to demand from them, they will bestow to you and that’s how you will grow up.

38. S. (01:14:49) You’re recommended to check how much our desire is aliened to the same goal, how do we do this in practice? Do I need to check myself or do we do it together, maybe you can recommend?

R. You will begin to connect with the friends and to see what you’re lacking and with everything you are lacking, turn to the Creator. Then you will feel in turning to the Creator, you will feel all kinds of responses reaction, start and then we will talk.

39. S. (01:15:33) Can we say that the Creator has no sensation of Himself because He doesn’t have a lack and only when He closes in our will to receive He is having some reflection sensing Himself?

R. In truth we don’t speak about the Creator. I understand that you are smart, intelligent, you wish to understand the system completely, like an investigator, like a scientist. But this attitude is not correct because you lack proper data so I would say that do as we do. Enter inside and from the feeling, you will get the understanding. That is how we learn everything in this world as well, first it’s the feeling, as it’s our foundation is the will to receive and the will to receive feels either good or bad. then later from these feelings of good and bad, it begins to assemble a mental system and then it begins to understand when is it good, when is it bad, bad from where, why, how can I arrange for myself such things that I will only feel good and so on and so forth. So first let’s go and do it, and you are smart, I know, I trust you I know you know how to arrange everything.

40. S. (01:17:37) Is the descent from the whole state, from the state of wholeness, is it an imaginary fall?

R. The fall into wholeness? Oh, fall from wholeness, is it imaginary? No, it’s not imaginary at all, we feel it, why would I say it’s imaginary? You can say about this whole world that it is imaginary but it is a poetic thing.

41. S. (01:18:37) According to Excerpt #1, What is “faith in simplicity”?

R. “Simple faith” is the upper force that clothes in the person and allows him to be above his will to receive.

42. S. (01:18:58) According to Excerpt #2, what does it mean that “he will not be in need in the collective”?

R. Again

S. What does it mean that “he will not be in need of the general to have faith in whole of Israel”?

R. Meaning he will not have egoistic connection but rather he will have a tendency towards the whole of Israel meaning those who yearn for the Creator.

43. S. (01:19:40) What is the meaning of “a person to have a sense of Divinity”?

R. Again, it’s for him to be able to incorporate in the public and use the public like a vessel of bestowal or he wants to give to the collective. And by that he won’t need the general public in order to receive from it.

44. S. (01:20:21) What is the difference between the general faith and personal faith?

R. Again.

S. What is the difference between the personal faith and the faith in the general of Israel?

R. Individual faith, personal faith, is when a person attains his personal vessel and incorporating with the friends in the ten, that’s his personal vessel; and the general vessel is when he begins to be connected with other tens. There he assembles spiritual Partzufim, you can say, he enters the structure of the spiritual world.

45. S. (01:21:23) What does it mean that “it is on the person to build the building of Divinity for him”? The question is: in the ten do I build a building for myself?

R. Each one makes his own structure, builds his own structure that is founded on sharing with others.

46. S. (01:21:53) What does a person feel towards the Creator in the friends when he has faith above reason and when he does not?

R. It is tough to explain, ask again.

S. What does a person feel towards the Creator and the friends when he has faith above reason and when he does not?

R. It is a matter of feeling, I can’t even say anything about it, he feels it in his vessels, that’s it, you can say anything.

47. S. (01:22:55) What is the opportunity that the state of Rosh HaShana, the new year, make for the world Kli?

R. Rosh HaShana, the beginning of the year, and all the holidays that we’re discussing, all the special festivities, they are not religious holidays, they are holidays of the nation. They are special days of the nation, of reality where the spiritual reality comes down to this world, if you can say, and works on us who are in this world and we have to try and be close to that spiritual reality, that’s it. That’s why he said that you wish to celebrate the beginning of the year in the spring or in the fall, no problem. Except if we are speaking about the root, that the roots four months and four weeks, there is also a root for that, for the beginning of the year. There are four beginnings to the year, four heads, and the beginning of the year in terms of the times, this is this first one, we will talk about it, you will see.

48. S. (01:24:33) I wanted to ask according to root and branch: we enter the season of the holidays, how do we need to use this season as Bnei Baruch, properly?

R. People who organize for us all the holidays, we have to try and build the schedule of the holidays, meals, events, both for women and children, and keep it.

S. I’m not asking about the schedule, there’s the schedule, there’re going to be prayers, the question is about internal contents?

R. We started to learn these things about Rosh HaShana, the beginning of the year, that’s how it’s called, Rosh HaShana, Selected Excerpts from the Sources. And we have a lot of material on it we will continue with this material also today in our afternoon lesson, and that is how it will be throughout the week, at least.

When we will get through this material in the morning lessons and in the afternoon lessons, after that we have, you know what comes after Rosh HaShana, the beginning of the year, we have Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, the forces of judgment that are revealed after the shattering of the vessel. And later when we construct the vessel again, this is the matter of Sukkot, the holiday of the Tabernacle and then we come to Simchat Torah, the celebration of the Torah. And we will learn about all those things and how the Kabbalists wrote to us in the Gate of Intentions, in all of those states, we have to see ourselves there. And I think that each and every friend of ours in the world will see how much we are actually talking about one matter, creation and the correction of creation.

S. From the last, as of last Saturday, we are here in Petah Tikva gathering in our of common state, in our common house, do you see a difference, do you feel a difference?

R. I see the difference and I myself would like to come down to the study hall from my studio to your place and be there with you in that same space, but they told me it is still might be dangerous because of my state so they don’t let me. But they truly wanted and I asked today, and I’m pressuring a few people who are the doctors who will make the decisions. Let’s see, I hope that in the next few days this will be clarified and I’ll be with you together. I thought I will be with you together already but they said nevertheless; in truth, the way you are other people around the world, thousands of men and women, so that’s why I’m not rushing to you in order to not separate those who are here in this building from those who are everywhere else.

S. And so, what is the difference that you feel?

R. I’m here and you’re downstairs? I look at you in two screens, one is your screen and the other screen, if you’re speaking to me or whoever is speaking to me, and the other screen is when I see all the groups around the world and I have another screen that keeps switching, I have three screens. In short, I see everyone, I observe everyone, I have no problem to be like this, but nevertheless, I think when I was abroad just now, we saw, we talked with many people and they are accustomed, accustomed to seeing us in this way, they accept it, they don’t feel that they lack anything. Everywhere we went, restaurants, streets, there are people who came to me and say “we know you, you’re from such a place”, really like that. Meaning we see that it’s working, that our vessel is expanding, I hope that this year, many more also events around the world will help us understand that the connection around the world is where its good future lies. I am happy to see you, really nice.

Reading #5 twice (01:31:53)

Reading #5 again (01:33:36)

49. R. A person has to annul his desire before the Creator’s desire.

Reader continues (01:35:25)

50. S. (01:37:13) This action is to draw the light?

R. You could say that yes yes.

51. S. (01:37:30) What is the difference between the purpose of creation and the plan of creation?

R. The purpose of creation is the final point we have to reach through the corrections, this is the purpose of creation, between what and what, and the plan of creation, the plan of creation is the process we have to undergo in order to reach the purpose of creation.

52. S. (01:38:15) It is written that the Creator can shine on the will to receive since it’s already corrected. What does it mean to shine on the will to receive?

R. The will to receive that restricts itself as a screen, reflected light, it extracts from itself this reflected light and this reflected light becomes a new vessel in place of the will to receive of where the Creator can give its fulfillment and this fulfillment does not cancel the will to receive because the will to receive is in order to bestow, that’s how you get filled, the upper light and the desire to receive, both of them work in order to bestow to one another.

S. And the higher light, what is this light?

R. Pleasure, feeling of life.

53. S. (01:39:36) Can it be that the Creator will send me the will to receive in such a manner that I cannot overcome it?

R. No, no such thing, only promote Holiness and never demote.

S. I am getting this will to receive and it erases everything, minute and i can’t see anything but that.

R. These are the states that we have to go through. Each one of us goes through different states the main thing that we need in order to…, all these states were given to us so we will hold on to the group even more, if I grab hold of the group each time more and more then all those states that come over me I grow stronger and I grow through them until the light builds the vessel.

54. S. (01:41:07) You said here to annul oneself?

R. It means to annul his will to receive.

S. He wants to annul the ego in the spiritual work?

R. Yes.

S. But the ego gives me strength to work, to work in front of the friends. How do I annul it?

R. You are right, but you have to show Him the revealed ego you shouldn’t work with it but turn it into in order to bestow.

S. Meaning to rise above it?

R. Yes.
