1. Rav’s Introduction: (00:35) Yes, after it’s understood that the purpose of creation is to bring the created beings to the degree of the Creator, that the gap between them is one end to the other, that these are two forms of nature, the will to receive which is opposite from the Creator, and the will to bestow which is the Creator itself. So the purpose of creation is to bring this gradual from the lower end, which all intentions of the created being are the intention to receive, to enjoy himself and if possible on account of the others, and to rise, meaning to diminish the will to receive for oneself and to enlarge the desire to bestow to the others to such an extent that the will to receive to oneself disappears, and the will to bestow to the others reaches the degree that captures the entire nature of the created being and this he equalizes with the Creator.
This path we need to go through together, thus the Creator created the created beings, broke them, prepared them and all their negative qualities is opposite from the end, in order to reach correction. It’s possible only in this that we feel the entire shattering, the entire difference from the corrected state and then only in the gap, the difference between these two states can we reveal the true reality.
Thus don’t look down at any state, they are all necessary, we need to collect all these states, to gather them, to connect them correctly, as much as we are not capable the Creator assists us and then we reach, like it is written, that the elderly Abraham came those days that he gathered all those parts of creation from one end to the other and then he revealed the entire gap, the difference between the Creator and the created being to the whole extent, to the complete extent, and in this he attained reality, he attained the general reality, so let’s continue and try to be like that. To aim our hearts that we want to connect together, that in heart and mind of ours, we will be as one, because then in such a manner we will be able to truly feel the present reality and the reality to which we need to reach, to break in, to rise to.

(07:34) What corruption Baal HaSulam talks about here, if you can give some example, how do the Kabbalists in a certain state, if you can open this up, how is he happy with the flaws that appear, I’m not clear on that. We can see the Kabbalists go through certain process but how could you be joyful?
R. I would say like this, if I reveal that I have no love in my heart for the friends, they look to be far, separate, not close, not in my heart, like Kabbalists write, then I need to accept these things as something is wrong, I need to do something, in order to bring them closer, in order to feel them in my heart, in order to truly see them as part of my heart, not even part, rather my heart is entirely, entirely composed of the friends, without the friends I have no heart. The spiritual heart is my will to receive, which is entirely, entirely made of the desires of the friends, the hearts of the friends, thus I describe the state to myself and if I see that I have still not truly in a whole heart, that all the friends are united, uniting coming together, connecting and organized in my heart in such a manner, then there is a problem here, then I here truly am in a trouble and recognition of evil, that is how it is.
3. S. (10:23) What is that state that you are not worried about anything for yourself, but only the sorrow of the divinity worries you?
R. That is exactly what I just said, that what I worry, how I will feel my heart as connected of all the desires of all the friends. That is it, that is called Shechina, but it needs to be felt in our hearts, so in sum total to open up our hearts, to receive, to accept all the friends that will fill my heart, and then thus to feel them, that they are in my heart, in one heart, and one vessel and in this extent we will begin to feel the internality of this heart, how much it is beating and then accordingly begin to feel the Creator that wants to pass to us, through these beatings of the heart, his sensation, his mind, his essence, the entire creation.
S. What does it mean that this heart is beating, how to feel it?
R. His heart operates according to its beats, meaning in contraction and expansion, because only by these actions we can attain our spiritual life, ascents and descents what we later on will reveal in our connection called the Neshama, our soul or vessel, then its ascents and descents we will later feel the beatings of the heart.
S. What is important here according to the article is that this will be the only thing that worries me?
R. There is nothing besides the Creator later on we reveal that what we had before as important and we felt as existing, which is the world and people all these things, it will disappear, it will all evaporate like in a fog, and there remains only as Rabash writes, then they see that there is only me and the friends, and later on also I disappear, and remain only the friends, meaning that same place where we have connected, corrected our connection, and there the Creator that fills the place.
4. S. (13:34) We open our hearts and connect and come together and then, a counterforce appears on a new level, resistance and when that happens will I continue to get closer or should we be more cautious and stop?
R. I don’t know what you mean by that term, if we see that these friends are not beginners, they know what is being talked about, and they are with us for quite a few years, so what do we have to be afraid of here, we to some more and more connect to one another, in our internal sensation in our hearts, our mutual heart, and to feel the world entering this mutual heart, and this we reach the correction of the shattering, correction of reality, we return once again to a state as it was before the sin of the tree of knowledge and then thus we correct everything.
S. Meaning if we’re worried about the process we’re going through, and then there is all the conditions to continue getting closer?
R. Of course, all of the states that we go through are only in order to bring us back to the corrected state, there is nothing, no states, no even smallest action from above from outside of us which just operates for nothing, rather everything the Creator did for his purpose meaning to bring back reality, creation to the corrected state.
5. S. (15:43) Why does the Creator feel a lack and want to make us lack his own form?
R. On that it’s written that simply from the nature of the good to do good, why did he create us? Why did he create us opposite from him? In order that we as created beings will feel from our opposite state him, yes? Because the created being must feel both states as plus and minus and then between them he receives the sensation, so the sensation of reality must be that on one hand the created being is created in the will to receive, which is opposite the Creator, and on the other hand, he reaches the nature of the Creator and so in the gap between this and that, he feels his reality.
6. S. (16:59) The sorrow of the Shechina, on the one hand it is holiness, on the other hand where there is sorrow meaning lack of correction, so is it a place of true prayer?
R. Shechina, divinity is called our connected, corrected desires such that the upper light the Creator can dwell there, to fill these desires according to equivalence of form, if we reach a state that we bestow and the Creator bestows, then in this extent the Creator enters and dwells in us, and then we feel him, reveal him, that actually we need to do and reveal, and that is all according to how much between us we reveal the force of the bestowal, force of connection.
7. S. (18:16) Sorrow of the person and the sorrow of the Schechina, it’s not clear how you move from one to the other, we start being sorry for not being able to receive what the Creator prepared for me, until I’m sorry that the host can’t give me what he wants to give me, how do you move through these stages of sorrow?
R. This is a problem that we don’t feel according to our nature, anything foereign, rather only what is in our own will to receive, to feel something outside of our will to receive, meaning what exists outside of us, we can on the condition that we acquire the desire to bestow. Then we in this desire to bestow begin to feel what exists in nature besides us, besides our own, and that is called the upper world, then we reveal truly a different world with everything in it. So thus all our work is to reach the opposite desire that I can feel some, I can feel what is outside of me, to begin with we are born with our nature that we feel only ourselves and besides ourselves we don’t feel anything, and even that we think, we say, that we do feel the others, we don’t feel the others, we feel how much we impressed of the others, either for good or for bad but they themselves, we don’t feel them.
All our work, all our goal, all our success, is dependant on this that we will begin to truly feel the others, and that is impossible if a person doesn’t exit himself, and to exit oneself, we are capable only with assistance from the outside, and for this we are learning, this we’re learning how we can make the effort to exit outside our will to receive. And to begin to feel reality outside our will to receive, that is the wisdom of Kabbalah, a unique method, how to feel the reality not in the will to receive. So all our of work is how to acquire vessels of bestowal, a desire to be bestow, to exit to the other, the importance of the others, which is the opposite, it is the opposite of our nature. Here we need to pay attention and to somehow gradually come closer to the desire to bestow.
Reading 39 twice (22:20) “For a sin we sinned against you…”
8. R. (24:50) Meaning all our work is to rise above our will to receive and to begin to acquire a desire to bestow, and after the we have desires to bestow, then slowly, gradually to connect to them so our desires to receive, which are in us to begin with, and then we pass over two degrees, two stages, one stage that we are restricting our will to receive and acquiring a desire to bestow, and the second stage that we once again return to the will to receive, gradually, in order to use it with the will to bestow with the intention to bestow. This is actually the process that we need to go through until the end of correction.
9. S. (26:05) What does it mean if a person is not worthy he is thrown out from above?
R. That he should be worthy, how much we don’t understand the Creator said, I have created the evil inclination, actually he is not admitting that he created the evil inclination, and then did something bad, in this he is saying that be he began creation, and this that he created the evil inclination, he gave the created being the point of grasp upon which the created being can begin the correction of creation, and by this that he corrects the evil inclination, he begins to attain the Creator because all we receive as created beings, only from one thing and its opposite and thus by this we have the evil inclination we can attain the other nature, a good nature, and then in this we attain the gap, the intensity between them.
10. S. (27:27) You said that I restrict my desire to receive and acquire the desire to bestow, what does it mean that I restrict the will to receive that it is completely I only care about the connection or what?
R. I don’t know what will be in another moment. I only know one thing, that I need to work with the desire to bestow, so as much as I each time make the effort to be in giving, in bestowal, to exit myself, to enter into the friends, to be with them, that actually is the process I need to go through. That is it.
S. Meaning today we need to have one focus which is connection with the friends?
R. Actually it’s always like this, always like this, we have family and work and all sorts of problems and things, just actually the main thing we need is to be completely invested in the connection between us, until the connection between us will reveal the Creator and reveal the upper world, and reveal the end of correction, and then this entire world in general disappears from our sensation.
11. S. (29:22) There is another issue when you go into connection you want to care about the friends, so turns out you kind of grab yourself feeling like what they will say about you afterwards and how good you are?
R. That is called recognition of evil and there cannot be a recognition of evil without doing the good, so now from above you’re given a bit more to recognize the evil in order that you will need to advance to the good a bit more, and will you advance to the next good and there you will be revealed that directional bad that’s in you. And that is how it is left side, right side, but ultimately you will advance.
S. I noticed that for a long time this thing saddens me and my question was really how to be happy about it?
R. It’s a process. S. If there is this feeling that you need this help from the Creator but not really dependent on the friends, is it something missing there? Why is it like that? Why is it easier to feel that you need help from the Creator and not the friends in this process?
R. It’s clear because your ego, your evil inclination is ready to bow down before the Creator but not before the friends yet. That’s natural. After some time you will see how much you will also want it, to be low compared to the friends, to connect with them, to lower yourself before them. And then later it also won’t be important to you your own state, your height. Rather as Baal HaSulam and Rabash also writes that you will be able to subjugate yourself towards the friends actively.
13. S. (34:19) Is the work to move from my personal sorrow to the sorrow of the ten?
R. That is our work, yes. That we need to reach like this to the sorrow of Shechina, the sorrow of the group that still cannot bestow to the Creator.
S. And we come to that only by the effort to connect?
R. This comes to us by the light that reforms, that this is how we reveal.

14. S. (38:10) My corrected heart is composed of the friends, but we learn that a person is incapable of feeling the others. If so, why do we collect the desires of the friends to feel them as my own?
R. This is what we keep studying all the time. It’s by the efforts that you come closer to the friends. Then I begin to feel that to the extent that I begin to receive illumination from the Creator through the friends, I begin to feel that I have the inclination and permission to connect with them and then I’m drawn to connecting with them because I see that otherwise none of us can come to the revelation of the Creator, the goal. The Creator appears in connection between the friends. Our egoistic desires are in contrast but there is no choice. If we above our ego want to connect, then it happens. The Creator helps us and connects us and appears in the connection between us. So this is work against the earthly egoistic desire of ours, to convince myself to connect with the friends despite my ego. That is where we discover the Creator.
15. S. (40:18) According to excerpt 39, when will we be worthy, that we won’t be sent out from above?
R. When we discover how much we don’t want to connect between us and then we will cry and demand from the Creator to make connection between us and thus we will obligate Him to correct us. That is the only way we can achieve connection because the correction is done by the Creator. It is only up to us to discover how much we cannot connect and yet we would want to connect, and then we cry and present to Him our desire to connect and our inability to do so and then he does it.
16. S. (41:37) Is it correct to turn to the Creator and request to give me forces to help a friend, as if I’m requesting for myself but with the intention to help a friend?
R. We can’t do it from a whole heart because we are not corrected. But we have to ask, and then even though we are not corrected and our request is not clean, the Creator takes that into account and helps.
17. S. (42:12) What does it mean to experience all of reality in mind and heart?
R. Both in thought and desire we want to feel the true reality, where we are, where we actually are. Where are we? We don’t know. We in the meantime call this an imaginary world. It also says about this we were as dreamers. So our entire work is in having to try to understand the world of falsehood that we exist in right now. There is nothing in this world of the eternal, spiritual world and our whole effort is to to throw away from us this concealment, remove this concealment from over us and began to feel the true reality.
18. S. (43:37) What is the condition upon which the Creator gives a person a helping hand, assistance?
R. That depends on man’s will to receive, how much he wants to achieve correction from all of his desires as much as possible. It doesn’t depend on the intellect or knowledge, only desire. About that it says it’s not the smart one who learns.
19. S. (44:13) How can we help a friend to exit herself?
R. Give her the right example.
20. S. (44:25) Is it correct to say that to the extent that we annul ourselves before our friends this opens up the opportunity to bestow contentment to the Creator?
R. This is the unique singular action by which we can come to bestow contentment to the Creator, it is only by bestowing contentment to the friends.
21. S. (45:00) How can you pass a spiritual state or sensation from my heart to the friends?
R. Open the heart, I don’t know how else to say it. If the heart is open, everyone feels that the heart is open.
22. S. (45:34) In the state that I’m in sorrow of myself, can I not through this increase the sorrow of the Shechina, divinity?
R. You go through many emotional states. For now can’t really determine where and why, where they come from. The main thing for now is just to continue, to keep going, to accelerate the pace of changes in us.
23. S. (46:18) We say that all of the creation is the shattering, the Creator broke it. On the other hand we say all the corruptions are in me. How do I understand this? Am I the only one who’s corrupt or also others around me?
R. We attain creation gradually and ultimately you discover the Shechina, that everything that exists besides yourself is the Creator only and where is the Creator attained? When you connect with all of the desires of the created being and relate them to yourself, to a single heart. So besides yourself and the Creator there is nothing. And then you discover that actually you also don’t exist except as a point in order to discover that there is None Else Besides Him.
24. S. (47:43) What does it mean if a person is not worthy he’s cast out from above?
R. Well I don’t think that these things are happening in our time and in our context. It happens sometimes but it’s not about us, this is not written about us. We should be cautious of causing harm, closing rejection towards the friends and by that you can be pushed away from spirituality for a while.
25. S. (48:33) I think all the time of fulfillment for the will to receive for myself. Is it correct to say that by the correction I will be similar to the Creator and I will worry first for the friends?
R. Yes, exactly.
WSQ: (51:47) How by connection with the friends do we attain a reality outside ourselves?
WSQ: (01:01:12) I want to ask you why spiritual attainment depends only on the desire and not on the intellect or some emotion you have but only the desire. Why does spiritual attainment depend only on desire, not thought, or intellect or anything, only desire? In it it appears. Why does spiritual attainment depend only on desire?
Reading Item # 41: (01:06:32) “When a person feels that he is in exile …” Twice.
26. R. (01:08:25) So in each and every state he is tied to the Shechina, attached to the Creator, the presence of the Creator and he only needs to strengthen.
27. S. (01:10:32) We just learned that outside yourself is a world of dreams and lies but at the same time this is the Creator. So how do we combine this question? Could it be that outside yourself is a playground where the Creator is the master of the game and sets the rules only?
R. Yes, the Creator governs reality and presents to us, displays reality so that through this reality we come closer to Him and we recognize that all of reality is His game all together. This reality exists for us to nullify ourselves through this reality and thus we nullify ourselves to the Creator and the main thing in reality is the group, it’s our connection. That if we come to a state where we give up on everything just to be connected to the group, then bit by bit we feel that there are also no friends, no group, only the Creator who is the whole of reality.
S. From where do we begin this circle that Rabash describes here? That if he believes it’s not a descent, that it’s a push forward, then we’ll have encouragement?
R. It says about this we rise in sanctity and we don’t decrease in sanctity. Meaning that we are always in movement, in motion towards the final correction, the Creator takes care of that. The question is how do we advance? In spirituality there is no time which means we could be wandering around for thousands of years according to our feeling because time is our feeling. So everything depends on our efforts, how do we organize ourselves? Kabbalists who already went through this process recommend to us what to do, tell us how we can sanctify time and sanctify space, meaning shorten the times and reduce the space so that we feel the true reality.
S. There is always the question that if what a person now feels it is a descent, is it a descent because he worked well before or because he didn’t work enough?
R. Both this and that. The main thing is that we have to try to be connected the right way, towards the right goal from each and every state the Creator sets us up in.
S. How can we encourage ourselves if we didn’t work enough before?
R. That it’s the Creator who gave him this state to enter deeper, more broken records and raise them to correction. None Else Besides Him, we have to relate each and every state to the Creator. Besides our work is strengthening with the friends.
28. S. (01:14:20) A summary of those passages is not to be in despair? So how do we not escape the campaign?
R. Connection with the friends, if you’re connected with the friends I don’t think you’re going to fall into despair.
29. S. (01:14:53) What does it mean that the Shechina is clothed in a descent and to believe in it in order to raise its degrees in sanctity and come out of exile?
R. We should never forget that we are inside the Creator. He fills everything so both in the ascents and the descents it doesn’t matter the states, we are in Him. The question is how much are we in adhesion with this so we have to pay attention to that and help one another to reach such a connection where there’s no difference between us will be able to change the connection between us.
30. S. (01:15:52) The question about attainment, what you asked before. I’m entirely the will to receive, so the way I perceive the friends are in my corrupt qualities right?
So that’s my only way to perceive them?
R. Yes.
S. What next from here?
R. Correct yourself and then you’ll see them correctly. For the time being you’ll see them corrupted through your will to receive and you see them corrupted.
S. What does it mean to correct myself?
R. Correct yourself so that you will not be in the will to receive but in the will to bestow, the will to receive in order to bestow.
S. So then how will I perceive them?
R. According to your desire you will see them differently, more corrected, better, kinder.
31. S. (01:17:14) Rabash is very precise in his guidance. He says that when a person knows this and believes that this is the way it is. So what should we know and what should we believe, it’s like two different things?
R. There are things we need to know and to try not to forget for the time being, mechanically, like the multiplication table that we learned in school. And to believe means that I accept it on such a level what the sages have said. I accept it and I try and do it as much as I can because I wish to advance to their state. It’s also like you learned in life. They taught you a variety of things and you believed your teachers that this is so. You remembered what they told you and that’s what helped arrange you, format you. So we need both.
32. S. (01:18:38) Is written that everywhere they were in exile the Shechina was with them. So there were those who were in exile and there was the Shechina, so what is that?
R. Shechina means the reality or the existence of the Creator that was present everywhere and filled everything, His glory fills the earth. If we feel ourselves inside the Shechina this is called redemption and if we feel that we lack the Shechina this is called exile and if we don’t feel either the Shechina or lack of Shechina then it means that we are not in the real reality but in the imaginary reality which is called this world.
S. Shechina is a state? It’s a state of the ten, can we say that?
R. It’s not a state of the ten, the Shechina is the presence of the Creator relative to the created beings.
33. S. (01:19:58) It’s written that when he feels the taste of exile in the work and wants to run out of the exile, so when he feels in the exile why doesn’t he want to run away?
R. They don’t want to run away because there’s no power. Because you can run away from the exile, only on the condition that you developed a desire to bestow, actions of bestowal, intentions of bestowal and he doesn’t have the strength for it. So he’s willing to remain in exile. He is lying under his will to receive, under the control of his will to receive. This is called the authority of Pharaoh or the exile.
WSQ: (01:23:10) What’s disturbing us or what else can we do to get even closer, that we’ll really love each other and will be able to live and find life in that? Maybe in this workshop we can find out what else to add. What’s disturbing us now, here, from taking such steps towards one another so there won’t be anything bothering us and we will be able to adhere to the truth. Like the sensation we had here yesterday. So how to do it so that nothing disturbing will remain between us. What else do we need to do? How to live in such a way?
R. For that we need forcefully to pull in the hearts and turn to the Creator. Try to do it, go ahead.
34. S. (01:36:00) We have questions that awakened and I just want to say a few words, yesterday was an amazing day.
R. So tell us something.
S. We had a field trip, a hike. Part of it we walked silently and we had to think about the connection between us. We took stops, we read excerpts, we asked questions, we kept going. We went through some difficult areas, we had to close our eyes and trust each other and we all felt we’re going through it inside us. It was like a sensation from everyone. Afterwards we had an event, we went to the sauna and it was made of us taking everything off internally if we could say that. When we came back we read more excerpts, we chose the most essential questions that are crucial to us and there were sensations here. Those two and a half hours we didn’t even actually go in the sauna. The sauna was hot and ready, we felt that that was the center of our soul, that this is where we go in. There is a river there, we could swim there, you can go for a walk in the forest, in the end we had to come back here but nobody left. I we could, maybe let’s read another quote that awakened a lot of feeling here.
R. Tell me what is the excerpt?
Reading (01:38:37) “Come to Pharoah 2”
35. S. (01:39:46) There’s not like a gradual revelation of the Creator but he says here very precisely when he finishes the work of love of friends.
R. This is because relative to the Creator there are no states or decisions like half decisions, partial decisions. There is no way to do something only partially, in percentages. Relative to the Creator we can only act from a complete corrected vessel, a complete corrected desire. That is why it was said that it is from love of the creative beings to love of the Creator. It is not a gradual thing, the more you love the friends the more you connect with them, the more you approach the Creator. Although it is true but this might not be felt, like we have degrees of closeness between us but we are still not revealing the Creator. Why do we come closer to the Creator? Because in order to reveal the Creator we need a complete vessel, so let’s try to go on this path until it will be revealed.
S. The question is how I went into the state again, what did Rabash put in this quote that brings a person into such an inner fear, that you can’t suffer it?
R. You understand you can talk to a person on different levels of desire and with the Creator you can speak only if you devote to Him completely and absolutely. From above they do not give half of something but only a complete vessel, a complete desire. Therefore, even though we divide it into NRNHY, degrees of the desires, all of this relates already to the state where a person closes himself completely, he shuts his reception for himself and works in bestowal. Here we need to see how can we come closer to that. Do we have a part in it or not? But in order for this not to appear impossible or so distant, in essence we are at the threshold of this transition from this state, so another small effort and we will be here. The fact that we feel how exalted it is, how far away it is, this is really good, it is exactly so you will make this leap.
S. In the quote it says that if a person has only a desire to bestow to the king he will blemish the king’s honor which is called passing on Kedusha to the external ones. What are those external ones?
R. Those are a man’s beastly forces, his corporeal desires to get along in this world to acquire physical fulfillments, material fulfillments. That is what each one of us has.
S. I would like to say that on Friday you gave us opening words for the Congress: that there will not be any distances between us, that will fall on each other’s hands and live with it here. It’s very hard in this Congress for egoist to be here because you see how the friends, they are just trying to keep that guidance you gave us. I can even name names that people that are in complete bestowal like the organizers here. You see it, it hurts your body when you look at him, that he is so much in bestowal, who are you even? You know like one of the brothers just wrapping everyone with love, another welcomed everybody and he is in constant concern. I’m talking about the guys who organized here and yet another does not leave the kitchen and he is just supplying everyone’s needs 24/7, I don’t know when he’s sleeping and the sensation just dwells here. Can you please tell us what else we need to do? I asked this question now in the workshop but what step to take? What should we do so that this distance will be closed?
R. Envy.
S. It exists.
R. Envy, envy the friends really good, this will raise everyone. Learn from them, envy them and learn from them. I have nothing more to add, I’m very happy and I’m looking at you and I’m happy with what’s going on there. In what way you are holding all this, surviving all this, it’s not simple.
