Baal HaSulam. “Study of the Ten Sefirot” (TES). Vol. 1. Part 2. Inner Observation. Chapter Five. #58 (“You must understand the difference between…”)

1. Rav’s Introduction: We get sometimes such appeals why we are not studying TES in a more more massive manner and what is our preference, our priority, to studying the articles and letters to the Baal HaSulam and Rabash instead of TES. What can I tell you? It is good to study Tes if we can already in some form be connected to the TES ladder meaning coarseness, restriction, screen, reflected light, the attachment between the Sefiriot and the Partzufim maybe. Then this study becomes a practical study before that it is a study that brings reforming light which is also very important but are we capable of caring for it and thinking about it all the time? That is the question. Therefore what happens here is that maybe we first of all have to pay attention to the purpose of the study to the outcome that we expect from the study.

Therefore first we study articles, letters by Baal HaSulam and Rabash that lead us all ready to the purpose of the study. Then we approached the study of Tes in a more focused way. This is a question that always exist in a certain relation what kind of relation or proportion should be in the study between the letters the articles of Baal HaSulam and Rabash and all the other Kabbalists versus the study of the structure of the 10 Sefiriot of reality which is the Tree of Life and the study of the 10 Sefiriot. That is the question. Therefore,we nevertheless get many times questions about how come we do not study more TES. Maybe it is worthwhile to dedicate more time to it. Let us see how much we are able to do it, as much as you are yearning for it .It says that a person does not study except in a place that his heart desires so then let us see how much we should be in this and how much we should be in that. Well we will see, let us check this on ourselves.

2. S. (04:12) You said that the most important I got correctly the most important thing is to have those vessels restrictions, screen, reflected light, but when you study with Rabbash you placed an important emphasis on creating these components in the student and have special exercises.

R. No, no, no, not at all. We simply studied and that is it. There were many people that would come sit and study. We did not speak at all about the purpose of the study as we are talking about it now. Awakening ourselves before the study no. but rather you come to the lesson you open up either an article written by Rabbash and later on we study TES. Usually that is how it was or sometimes we would read some article by Baal HaSulam and then TES but usually it was an article by Rabash. This is what we had and we did not speak about the purpose of the study about the desired outcome from the study not that a person seemingly had to care for it before coming to the lesson.

S. So it is something that happens by itself on its own as a result of the study?

R. On those it does yes and then he comes and then those that he doesn’t he doesn’t. People realize that they have nothing else to do except to engage in that and then overtime one starts to ask himself what am I studying for? What is happening to me for which purpose did I come here and then one would scrutinize and this is how he would advance.

S. What can you advise us on how in the tens in our work in general can we put an emphasis on the result to be that you described, the desired result?

R. The purpose of the study is to reach in order to bestow, from in order to bestow to the friends in the ten from in order to bestow to the Creator. That is the purpose of the study by that we come closer to identifying with the Creator to adhesion with Him. To be in the same quality as Him in the quality of the bestowal. This is what we need. How to istudy that? It is impossible to study that but it is possible to get from above the reforming light so that it will influence us and change our nature. iI is impossible to do it through the intellect but only through this influence this projection from above that when the light shines on you. In order for the light to shine on you we need to try to be in qualities or at least in actions that are like it.

Therefore even though you don’t want to do it, meaning that you are not yet in the quality of bestowal, However you perform actions that are similar close to the quality of the bestowal and by that to we draw the light. And if you do it inside of the ten then out of that you and your friends, when you rise above the ego of each and every one and you’re willing to connect into one desire of their mutual bestowal to the Creator. This is how we come closer to their connection of bestowing to the Creator resembles the Creator’s action of bestowing to them and then we connect, that is it.

3. S. (09:14) You said that once before when you studied you didn’t discuss the goal of the study. Each one understood it by himself. Why are we today in a different time? Why are we teaching the goal of the study? What is the difference between today and what was in your days?

R. The difference is in the approach of what we talked about. The difference is that we are in the broad public which is very diverse and it comes from all kinds of cultures and faiths, different ones. Therefore, we have to establish ourselves a little bit more, even corporeally in a uniform manner. During the time of Rabbash we all lived together in one region just like I now live here so everybody will be living here in the same region, a single city or a few small cities and that is it. It is something quite different and therefore it was simple. On the one hand, on the other hand the will to receive was also a little bit different, the world was different. The world didn’t yet discover that it is in one pot and it is cooking there on a fire, truly like today ends from one day to the next more and more.

This is why today we are truly in a revelation of our period, which is the last generation. This is why the time changes, meaning of the states change, we change inside of us the connection between us changes. Today you have the internet. It is such an essential revelation of the connection between human beings, an external connection but nevertheless look what it does we can be connected already around the planet. We have Africa, Asia, look at the map Africa, Asia, Baltia, here we have from the north Siberia, Moscow, Kiev, Almaty, truly from all places in the world. This is already relating to the interconnection or the beginning of the interconnection relating to correction where the beginning world is says that ‘ all the nations will flock to him’. Meaning that all the nations of the world, they will all be drawn to the Creator, to the knowledge of the Creator and they can discover him in the connection between them. This is our work, the work of Bnei Baruch to give to it a center, a nucleus and example and to publicize this knowledge, this ability, this opportunity to the entire world.

4. S. (13:32) What is the role of luck in attaining the force of bestowal?

R. Oh that is not for now. We are not engaging in any question now but rather what we talked about. Okay so let us approach.

5. S. (14:05) I want to ask about what you just said because it used to be a small physician group in Bnei Bruch and now we are a huge international entity where your hands and feet are, something huge so what are the characteristics of Bnei Baruch? Where is it going to go soon and not at the end of correction?

R. We need more and more to see how we tighten the connections between us, between all of the groups, different groups, above mentality above the character of each and every group and the more we establish a common state which will bring us an example of what we need to yearn for. What is it that we need to do? Should we become incorporated? What form should we take on? What is the example of the ten? An exemplary ten, that’s what we all yearn to be in the same image to be incorporated in the same image so that such a ten of ours is already adhered to the Creator. That ten that we want to build will include all of the tens, all of our friends from all over the world, those who want to be in it they should connect to the spiritual structure and that we will reach that and in it we will discover our adhesion with the Creator. In all the degrees of adhesion in the 125 degrees of adhesion. This is what we want. That is it. We need to talk about it. We need to make it as tangible as possible and to publicize it to everyone.

Our purpose is both to understand and to also teach everyone that as much as we will be connected in breath so we will rise in height.  Just like you build a pyramid let say, so the more you have a broader infrastructure, the greater height that you can reach. This is the same with us. This is why we have to be concerned to be close in such a way with all of us together, to accept everyone who wants and to care each time how to make room for everyone. How to care for the connection among everyone and this is especially what we need, specifically this is the problem that we have before us. Specifically in these times, it is interesting how how it changes evolves, how it changes the way we talk about this.

S. Define the problem before us?

R. The problem we have before us is that we need to be the center, the center like a vacuum cleaner that sucks into it all those who feel redundant in this world.  That they have no place among the ordinary people. That they have to discover the essence of creation the purpose of creation what we exist for and so on but all of these people cannot just stay remaining their existence in this world but rather their purpose is to attain the Creator because only this answers to them regarding light the essence of life, the purpose of life and no less than that.

S. This exemplary ten, the model ten that we need to design, the model 10 for all of humanity should be what we should suck in like you say, like a vacuum cleaner the more people to be absorbed.

R. I don’t think to be absorbed inside because that is difficult when we see now some people come or even complete groups from all kinds of countries ,cultures, religions, etc and they come in or rather they need to fit in with us and gradually take on the same form like us.

S. What is stopping us from expanding outwards?

R. It is not stopping us or delaying us but to the extent that we will be tighter and tighter inside of ourselves we will also have a natural inclination to spread outwards.

6. S. (20:10) One time you were asked how students should behave in a lesson, you said that when I’m leaving the lesson, the reader reads and we pray for one another. Is this still relevant to pray for the ten or we should include the entire world?

R. Certainly we need to pray both for the ten and also for the entire organization of Bnei Baruch as a greater expanded ten and also for the entire world as one ten. Because there is no more than that, this is all just a matter of the measure. How do you accept it, on which scale do you look at reality? You have the entire universe and it is very similar to a single atom and the more you diminish and diminish the universe, it will nevertheless be similar to an atom, what’s inside of it, inside of each but only in different measures, all of the laws of nature are revealed. It is the same with us. We are told that there is no more than 10 Sefirot so either you’re talking about the entire nature, all of it or you are talking about some part of it but nevertheless, it is not divided into less than ten. All of the laws that exist even in the smallest group and also in the entire universe, in the whole of humanity, in the worlds, it is all ten. However it just depends on which scale with respect to yourself that you can discover it and discuss it, that is all.

7. S. (22:22) It turned out that now we have preparation, the friend has such a question, if we should hold on to this intention constantly so he’ll be the one who advances the Creator’s interest. How do I do it, pray for the friends, ask for them, ask for the world? How can I include anything else in this state so that the state of fear will remain in perpetuity?

R. Well we talked about that a thousand times, how we should think about each other, how to strengthen each other, how to come closer to each other. I can’t begin with us now. There’s a lot of material about that, a lot of materials.

8. S. (23:16) About this vacuum cleaner, is what you are describing additional points in the heart like us or an external layer of people going to be around us somehow?

R. Again I didn’t understand it?

S. About the example you gave of this world international Bnei Baruch has to be like a vacuum cleaner and suck. Do you feel that this is, we are talking about additional points in the heart that have to join us or an even more external layer of audience, a circle around us?

R. Both. Both. We need to accept them so that they will gradually become incorporated in us, yes. But we have to take care of it, for the time being we are gathered inside of us, in the connection between us and this is the most important, that we should also pay attention to the external dissemination as much as we have today the forces for it and the brain to do it. There are people with the inclination for that, to engage in that, later on when we will become a bit more established in the connection between us we will be able to dedicate more time and more strength to the connection with all the people in the world. To publicize and establish that the group up Bnei Baruch as the human structure, okay?

S. Can you describe how you feel the closest layer to us, your innermost feeling when you look at the world, how do you identify that there are such desires of people that are closer to us?

R. It is only according to desire therefore I cannot tell you about some nationality or a certain age or something, they are living in certain conditions in the North or in the South or in some place in a certain country. There is no such thing and you can see this also according to our groups, this is why I respect the internet so much because it enables us to reach everywhere and if we would invest more in publicizing and all that, then certainly we would reach out to broader and broader circles around us.

S. I understand that it has nothing to do with demographic and age groups, a layer of the desire, you feel that it exists, it is ready for us and it’s just ready for us to adapt ourselves to it.

R. Yes, everything depends on us, everything depends on us as much as we adapt ourselves to the external audience, to understand them better, to feel them better, to want to bring them closer more and in this way to pull them, to pull them.

Item 58 (27:19) You must understand the difference between

9. R. (28:33) Yes, what is the difference between these two actions, on the one hand there is a restriction where Malchut refuses to receive anything to herself and as much as possible she distances herself from the source of the abundance, from the emanator and later on there is an action which is seemingly the opposite of the restriction, so please.

Item 59 (29:07) The reason for it is that although both the restriction

10. R. (29:44) This means that between Malchut that receives and Malchut that restricts herself there is a great change here, a spiritual distance as we call it which is a great one. This one Malchut of Ein Sof that wants to receive everything and to receive in all the desires, in all of the aspects and everything that she has without any limitation and after she receives, she operates herself in a new form.

Reading Continues: (30:22) “Just as corporeal objects become separated…”

11. S. (30:58) This force that interferes here that is in control that restricts the light from getting to phase four what does it come to Malchut from?

R. From where Malchut suddenly doesn’t want to receive and wants to repel all of the filling that comes to it, it gets that too from the same light that influences her because that light that influences her carries within it also that knowledge. That the light comes from the bestower and Malchut, along with the fact that she receives and she enjoys she also absorbs from this light the quality of the bestower. It is as we are in contact with a certain phenomenon so besides the fact that we get from this phenomenon a certain filling we also start to learn from this phenomenon what is the nature of that phenomenon and what is the nature of that source of that phenomenon, meaning the giver.

Gradually we start to become incorporated with him so that the reception of the abundance is a means that connects us with the source of the abundance and the source of the abundance is the giver. Even though we are receivers we receive the abundance but by actually the reception of the abundance of itself passes on the nature of the bestower whether we want to or not. Then the receiver starts to change by the reception of the abundance even though it only has the will to receive but because the abundance comes from the upper one, from the giver from let us say something more successful, greater, superior one actually.

So the fact that he receives by this he feels the difference in the degrees between him and the giver. Therefore he absorbs not only the abundance itself that he enjoys from it but also bit by bit, he also receives the nature of the bestower, that he is the giver. So gradually a desire to resemble the giver starts to grow within him. We see that it is this way when we are in contact with each other even though we have certain external connections but bit by bit, we take on the nature of the other one, we start to be similar, we learn from the other one. It all comes together with the reception and bestowal. His actions of reception and bestowal pass from one to the other the nature of each one and become incorporated in each other.

S. I apologize, but for us in order to reach such an action of restriction we have to go through this stage to receive the abundance from the Creator and in it to discern the nature of the Creator and from that to come to restriction?

R. Certainly, there’s no other way, what other way do you have, there is a giver and the receiver. If on the degrees of the receiver, the still, vegetative and animate, the receiver cannot get a sufficient impression from the giver in order to resemble him. But on the special degree of development on the receiver on the 4th degree in the great will to receive he also absorbs from the giver, the quality of the giver, the bestower and he wants to resemble it then he receives from him his own quality. Rock , plants and dogs let’s say, they could not get an impression from us so that they will also be givers, they could not, but if a human being lives among human beings then by the fact that they bestow he learns from it and he also wants to bestow. We see this with little children that they want to resemble the grown-up even to some extent, it is the nature of development in the will to receive and therefore this is how we learn.

S.The principal is clear but practically how do we feel it in the ten, the Creator, his bestowal, his abundance from which we can learn and perform this restriction?

R. You need to try to relate to friends the way it seems to you the Creator is relating to you, in love, giving, connection, then inside those actions you begin to feel him, the Creator.

12. S. (37:24) If possible to come back to the question that relates to dissemination. What is our task, our mission to bring the world that feeling of the Creator or to talk about Kabbalah actually, what is our central direction in relation to and the way we relate to dissemination?

R. There’s all kinds, I cannot say in one word, sometimes it is like this sometimes it is like that. It depends on the state in which a person or the society are in, the ones that we want to come and tell them about the purpose of development. Typically we have to come to a certain society and show it the form into which it is developing since by knowing it, it will become easier for them to find themselves in life, a certain form, what to be drawn to, how to develop and how to educate themselves and their children, that is how it works. We have to see it on the spot.

13. S. (39:05) Can you explain this title, the restriction was of her own volition the screen was not of her own volition, why the screen not of her own volition?

R. We will get there in a second.

S. If I can ask how can Malchut remove the light in the restriction if she has no screen, with which organ?

R. This is called the restriction when Malchut stops the desire to receive, it restricts its will to receive, it does not want to receive although it wants to receive, performing an action where they’re by it does not want to receive.

S. The organ that enables her not to receive is usually the screen, it pushes the light outward but she doesn’t have a screen yet so how can she succeed?

R. This is still a restriction, a restriction not a screen.

S. What holds the restriction without a screen?

R. I do not want to receive so I restrict myself, restriction is not a screen. A screen faces the pleasures and it measures which one it can receive and which one it cannot, why, how, here it is still a restriction, the first decision of the receiver relative to the pleasure.

S. The restriction is in every degree in the first phase, over the first phase?

R. What is the first phase?

S. In Phase 1 of each degree.

R. No in Phase 4 always.

S. I mean phase one of phase four?

R. Know why you are probing into things we haven’t even learned and you’re getting confused. Phase one of phase four. Later you will learn about it and you will see. The restriction stands before the reception in Phase four but where it is exactly, we will see.

14. S. (41:33) What ability do we have to feel each other, following the restriction everything is divided into degrees and sub degrees and he says that a change of form separates individuals like an ax, so how can you have a better connection?

R. The connection specifically comes when we divide all of the qualities into degrees, into numbers, compartments and it is easier for us to sort each and everything out and to connect our desires with a specific intention over each and every desire.

15. S. (42:21) Baal HaSulam denotes in several places that Malchut of Ein Sof restricted herself not because of lack of equivalence of form but rather she wanted to connect more tightly, more strongly with the Creator. Now in relation to that why was the screen also needed? What does the screen add to this process?

R. The screen is the force of inhibition, it does not want to receive after the restriction, it does not want to receive, it will not want to receive in order to receive. This detaining force that stands above the Malchut allows it to later work in order to bestow.

16. S. (43:23) Whenever I read this it says just as corporeal objects become separated from each other by an ax and are distanced by each other by area and by innovation of form. What is this form? I understand it is defining it as in this world it is like cutting with an ax through a place and area, what does he say when the physical is distinguished from each other by an innovation of form or a new form, what is that?

R. The renewal of the form means up first in order to receive is now in order to bestow it is still the renewal of the form of the will to receive eventually. First I work in the form of reception, it is the form and by which it works is in order to receive and later it has a different form of work where it wants to bestow but that same will to receive there is nothing else.

S. So why does he say they become the difference is the measure of disparity between one form and another?

R. Of course there the will to receive works as the will to receive and here, through the screen to the restriction and reflected light, it works as a desire to bestow but it is not a desire to bestow by itself but rather through the influence of the light on it, it was inverted and acquired a new form where although it is a will to receive but it wants to bestow.

S. So in our world this is how it works in a corporeal manner when the ax is cutting we can feel it in spirituality you’re saying it’s not related to the ax, a completely different area as you are saying a new form not related physically in our world.

R. The form means the way the will to receive works.

S. Something spiritual?

R. Of course it is spiritual, take it as spiritual, why do you keep trying to confuse this more more when you come to an answer, that is it.

17. R. (49:44) Meaning that we have Malchut which is the will to receive, we have Malchut which feels itself as the receiver, as a result of the feeling of reception it has a different attitude towards the upper light, towards its nature as a bestower. Therefore Malchut restricts itself, as a result of the restriction it now meets the upper light in a new way, it is the bestower and she is the non receiver. Then there is a new connection between them where Malchut receives from the upper light the force of bestowal. Then above the restriction it builds the screen, meaning trying to resemble the upper light. The restriction already provides her with complete control from the upper one and from her own perspective she also wants to join and resemble the light in the action of restriction where even she doesn’t want to receive the upper light in itself, okay?

18. S. (51:14) Can we say that the restriction is Malchut getting to know herself and she doesn’t want for herself and the screen is already getting to know her three phases?

R. Yes.

19. S. (51:33) If the ten, should the ten as a ten, reach a state as a common restriction, a common screen or is it different for every friend?

R. It is individual for each friend and later we will see how it happens commonly, collectively. What we attain when each one restricts himself and builds himself a Sefirot, what happens when everyone connects and builds themselves as one.

S. Can you elaborate on what it means as a restricted ten or not now?

R. Not now.

20. S. (52:18) It says that the operating force has passed through Malchut through the line. If so, what are all the circles and passing the operation from the upper light to Malchut?

R. Through the circles, the upper one influences the created being, the created being wants to receive the influence of the upper one only through a line. This is called restriction, line, reflected light whereby the lower one establishes his attitude towards line, the right measure, the right weight, according to the definition that it can tolerate.

21. S. (53:41) Thank you if I heard correctly, the construction of the screen occurs through the line, if you can explain this more clearly, how does this happen?

R. When the upper one influences the lower one it awakens various discernments in the lower one where the lower one that wishes to resemble the upper one, as result of the influence of the upper one, it builds of himself a reaction, this reaction is in wanting to resemble the upper one, it builds in him a line, first of all a restriction then the line.

S. If we can be more precise, this relation, is this a certain relation or the beginning of some mind in the desire, what is the screen?

R. The screen is the degree of your desire to resemble the upper one, the desire to be the bestower according to what is available to the lower one, this is called the screen. As much as I want to resemble the upper one and bestow to him the way I feel his bestowal to me as an example, this is called a screen. Okay?

22. S. (55:27) The restricted Malchut performs a certain preference in relation to what is happening in phase two?

R.We didn’t talk about it but there is something to it, he wants to resemble Bina.

23. S. (56:06) Does the screen necessarily come after the restriction or would there be a state where we fall off the restriction before we receive the screen so we have to re-establish the correction, the restriction?

R. The screen cannot be built without proceeding restriction.

S. But I have a different question, does the screen necessarily come after the restriction or could there be a state where we fall after the restriction we come from the restriction we fall from it and then we have to come to it again?

R. It is not mandatory to have a screen after the restriction, it requires additional efforts from the lower one.

24. S. (56:58) The screen or aspiration to resemble the Creator is something personal. How do we combine it into something that is combined in the ten the screen of the ten?

R. The screen is the ten, you are right, that is why if I, if you’ve noticed, that I don’t like questions that do not follow the general stream when someone special comes with a special question, a side question unrelated to what we are discussing, it is hard for me to tolerate the question. Because it is not advancing everyone, it is not thinking of adding the scrutiny to everyone since our study means to connect everyone rather he asks because his ego wants to know and then it is hard to tolerate him with his question. So when we are asking, let us ask more about what we are all discussing so that the study will connect us. Okay?

25. S. (58:27) Can we say that Malchut following the restriction is a state that Malchut, in which Malchut attained rudimentary difference from the giver, the lack of the equivalence of form?

R. Yes, you can say that, Malchut assumes different forms from the bestower and that’s what it feels when it aims it towards the restriction, screen and reflected light.

26. S. (59:23) You said that the restriction rides on a Malchut from the side of the Upper Light. Can you give some depiction or example to this?

R. An example, Malchut feels herself not only as receiving and the pleasure from receiving but it begins to feel the bestower, the Emanator, the one who gives her and she begins to feel the nature of the Emanator, He’s the and she is a receiver. This is all through the degrees of development and she feels that He is opposite from her, He wants for her sake, and she does not want for His sake, and it begins to awaken. Where the Emanator himself indirectly influences His quality on her, the Bestower, and then relative to the quality of bestowal that she has from the Bestower, and the quality of the will to receive to receive for herself she now has an internal conflict between the receiver and the Bestower, and because of that it begins to be in contradiction, the inner striking between these two forms of receiver and Bestower to such an extent that it stops receiving and later it wants to acquire qualities of bestowal, meaning restriction, screen, reflected light and so on and so forth.

S. What exactly causes or gives the strength not to receive? To withstand the reception and not receive?

R. From feeling the Bestower and feeling that she is opposite from Him and then she disagrees with it. That is the reason for the restriction. If it does not feel the Bestower as a bestower she just takes it, but to the extent that it feels Him bestowing to her there’s a difference between what she is receiving and what He has bestowed, and there’s no adhesion between them. And this adhesion erases the degrees between them, the differences between them, and to that extent she can not receive, the shame, the gap between the degrees is holding her and it is not letting her receive, be in contact with the Bestower. Clear?

27. S. (01:02:48) Regarding this item there are a few questions here. First of all it says here that Malchut extended light to the three phases then the upper form was born called the screen, How does it happen that first of all she restricts herself when she draws the light over the three phases and then this new upper form is called the upper screen.

R. We will learn about it. This is a topic in and of itself.

S. Second question, the world of restriction, he puts in his concept of the world of restriction. What is the world of restriction?

R. The world of restriction is the desire of Malchut that she cannot use because she feels disturbances, shame and so on, so that area is called the world of restriction.

S. Is it different than Malchut?

R. No, it is inside the Malchut. In general there is nothing outside of Malchut. All of reality is first of all Malchut. All of reality is first of all Malchut, and what we feel in it, the upper nine and all kinds of discernments, we feel it only in Malchut. Other than Malchut we do not know the upper nine, and all those things. This is all above us. We are only to a certain extent of working with Malchut. We can imagine to ourselves what are the upper nine before the Malchut.

S. The restricted Malchut and the world of restriction is that the same thing?

R. Yes.

28. S. (01:04:46) The restricted Malchut and Malchut with a screen. Which one is the upper one and which one is the lower one?

R. First of all the restricted Malchut and then it raises the screen.

S. The restricted Malchut is the upper one?

R. It precedes.

29. S. (01:05:12) Malchut received in phase four and then she made a restriction, or did she just try to receive, and made the restriction?

R. It received all the light of Ein Sof according to her desire. It felt the entire giving of the Creator in all of her desire, the Light of Ein Sof filled her. That is why she is restricting all of the Light of  Ein Sof and she remains completely empty, and because the Light of Ein Sof used to fill her and now she is empty and inside this empty Malchut you have the reshomit left from the Light that used to fill her. According to this Reshimot, like genes, like memories, she begins to activate herself in order to return to that state where it was full of the Light of Ein Sof but already to bestow to the Creator or not because it wanted to receive like before the Restriction. Okay?

30. S. (01:06:41) Can you explain this law? What does it mean that what is a desire in the Upper One becomes an authority and the lower one?

R. It is clear to us because the Upper One is in control. If it has a certain desire, and it wants to realize it, so the realization of it in the lower one, this is what the Upper One does. Who is the lower one? What the Upper One decides and what He does in practices is the lower one.

S. What does it mean He becomes an authority, a force in the lower one?  It means that the lower one has control, authority of the Upper One in that form?

R. A desire and the Upper One becomes a force, a controlling force of the lower one. What is not clear? That is why it is an Upper One and a lower one. Whatever the Upper One decides it takes place in the lower one.

S. It sounds as though now the lower one has control over the Upper One.

R. Where? The lower one is a result of the upper one.

S. Yes but my question is, if I understand it correctly, if a desire in the Upper One means that the lower one now has the ability to perform restriction and a screen meaning that he now has authority control over the desire of the Upper One?

R. It has no control over the desire of the Upper One, but if it can control itself from receiving what the Upper One wants to give him and also with the same conditions that the lower one is now applying on itself, a restriction it does not want to receive what theUpper One is giving him, all of those conditions it also receives from the Upper One.

S. And the screen, this is also a condition from the Upper One?

R. You also receive that from the Upper One. Where would you be receiving it if not for the Upper One?

31. S. (01:09:06) If the restriction means to be emptied from the light and all that remains is the Reshimot, what is the work of the created beings according to the records?

R. The work of the created beings is to draw the upper light through the ten and those Reshimot, records, that are in him from the general shattering to awaken the influence of the upper light on the records in him and then to see which records they can use; sort them out, organize them and advance through them and build additional Partzufim by itself, in order to bestow. That is why all the Reshimot that exist in us, we have to come to a stage where we shine to them the upper light and that is how we advance.

32. S. (01:10:30) You said that Malchut performs the restriction after she feels the gap that she has with respect to the upper one, but how is it possible to feel the giver before there is an equivalence of form?

R. For the time being the upper light is working on her and that is why she feels what the upper light is giving her.

33. S. (01:11:01) Is the restriction related to shame?

R. Shame as a result of the influence of the Creator, a special influence by the Creator on a person. It is a great help to a person since it fills the gap between him and the Creator.

34. S. (01:11:33) Malchut restricted herself out of her own volition and without any control by the upper one. What does it mean that this is happening without the upper one, where is this desire, what is the root of it, how is it happening in that way?

R. The influence of the light, the light influences everything. With the influence of the light you have many forms and everything we receive, everything we get in each and every moment the influence of the upper light on us.

35. S. (01:12:18) What does it mean in the words of Baal HaSulam that any desire in the upper one becomes an authority in the branch that extends from it? Does the lower one work coercively?

R. The lower one works reluctantly and later we will learn how it is coming to a state where it will be not reluctantly but rather free in its actions. That is much as it resembles the Creator it comes to a state where it has free choice and that is how it can work.

36. S. (01:13:19) What does it mean that we don’t necessarily need a screen in order to perform a restriction? It seems that Malchut made a restriction even before she developed the screen?

R. First the screen or first restrictions? So, of course the restriction precedes it, I need to restrict my will to receive in order to receive so it won’t be in order to receive and later I will begin to build my desire so it will be in order to bestow. Without restriction I cannot come to bestow, because the restriction means that I restrict myself from receiving although I want it very much but I restrict myself from receiving.

36. S. (01:14:18) Can we say that the Masach is a new creation between the Creator and Malchut?

R. Correct, yes.

37. S. (01:14:33) The Creator created me and is filling me but where do I feel that i’m the receiver because the feeling that I’m receiving is beyond the simple vessel of reception?

R. Correct, the vessel of reception needs to be developed until the fulfillment comes through Shoresh, Aleph, Bet, Gimmel, Dalet; the five layers of the vessel of reception, then in the last layer the created being feels that he is the receiver, but not before that. Look at the whole world do they feel that they are receiving? No. They feel nothing like that.

38. S. (01:15:15) What is the difference between the force to make a restriction to the force you receive from Masach?

R. The restriction is something that I do because I feel my disparity of form relative to the giver; I don’t want to receive from Him because I want to be closer to Him. It is like how we feel in this world. If I receive something from someone then he is the giver and i am the receiver and that already determines the gap between the degrees between us; he is higher and i am lower, this is called “reception”. If I don’t want it then I perform a restriction and I receive it from him, it is possible that I am receiving in order to bestow in return to Him so there will be a connection between us and then I received from Him and some other time I give to Him and then we have a mutual connection. It is called “I’m for my beloved and my beloved to me”, and this is the beginning of love typically. It is not like one gives to the other and the other doesn’t give anything, rather the other also has to give to the first one and In this way love is born between them, and the more they wish to bestow pleasures to one another, it doesn’t matter what they give, really, the important thing is the desire for it. In this way there’s a connection between them and they develop.

39. S. (01:17:12) What does it mean that the Masach is the ten?

R. I didn’t say that the Masach is the ten, rather the ten is the place where we can build the Masach.

40. S. (01:17:32) It turns out that the entering of the light is phase four and its departure obligates phase four to change its quality from the will to receive to the will to bestow. Is there a freedom of choice or is there only enslavement of the Malchuyot?

R. The free choice is, in entering this ten and annulling before the ten and each time I have to nullify myself more and more then I receive the influence of the upper light more and more from the Creator. And, that’s how the restriction, screen and reflected light is born in me. That’s our choice. Our choice is essentially in nullifying ourselves to the ten.

41. S. (01:18:28) I understand that the Malchut restricted itself without help from the upper force so why do we in our prayers ask the Creator to finish the job for us?

R. Malchut had a feeling and connection with a force that filled it and therefore it didn’t need to pray and connect its pieces to reach the upper one and receive the upper light that will position it above its will to receive; he was already in it, it was already active in the world of Ein Sof. We however are on the other end of the ladder.

42. S. (01:19:20) if the lower one decides that from now it only wants to bestow, does that mean that it doesn’t want to work with its will to receive anymore?

R. He has to work with his will to receive, because except for his will to receive, he doesn’t have anything else, but he has to work with his will to receive as with a will to bestow.

43. S. (01:19:44) Can you elaborate with an example where the screen is and what its main role is after the restriction?

R. The screen is in all the layers of the will to receive, when the will to receive is restricted then you want to use it in order to bestow to the source, to the upper one and that’s where the screen lays.

44. S. (01:20:16) What does it mean that the Creator is bestowing to us through circles?

R. Circles? I don’t know what you’re talking about? say it again.

S. What does it mean that the Creator is bestowing upon us in circles?

R. In circles because it is the world of circles, meaning that exist before the restriction where there’s a line of reflected light, so that is the influence there, it’s only based on our coarseness and not the place where we are with a restriction, screen and reflected light which we don’t have yet these discernments.

45. S. (01:21:08) Is the line the result of the Masach?

R. The line is the result of the Masach. Restriction, screen and reflected light that we raise our relationship towards the Creator through the connection with the group. That means we are building the line from below upwards and before that the Creator builds the line from Him towards us, and thus we mutually clothe our line on the Creator’s line.

46. S. (01:22:00) Can there be a Masach without restriction?

R. The difference between Masach on restriction. Restriction is that restriction of the will to receive, the screen is already an action that is above the will to receive, in order to bestow to the upper one, connect to the upper one.

S. So for the screen there always needs to be a restriction.

R. Yes.

47. S. (01:22:30) What does it mean to try and be in a quality and action like the Creator?

R. Meaning In bestowal.

48. S. (01:23:35) Can we say that Malchut wants to bestow to the upper one but she can not without the help of the light that she received and that’s the reason for making a Masach, that it allows her to be in contact with the Creator and on the other hand not to receive?

R. Yes, we can say that.

Item 61 (01:24:15): “The difference between circle.…”

49. R. (01:25:15) Meaning, there is a restriction, screen, reflected light all these Sefirot are arranged in their bestowal from below upwards from the created being to the Creator, to the source of light and that is the difference between the ten Sefirot in direct light and reflected light and in the circles there is no change, there’s only cause and effect. The light extends from the outer circles to more and more inner circles all the way to the will to receive that is at the center.

Item 62 (01:25:57) “The reason why.…”

Item 63 (01:27:34) “We refer to the….”

50. R. (01:28:45) The upper light as we say is in complete rest and so forth everything follows the desire that awakens in the created being, the emanate being.

Item 64 (01:29:01) “The part of the light.…”

51. S. (01:30:55) What does it mean that the created being is building reflected light?

R. That the created being wants to resemble the Creator. He performs on himself a restriction, do not receive the light from the Creator because to resemble the Creator means resembling the bestower and so he stops being a receiver and then it turns out that he wants to stop that kind of connection with the Creator where they Creator fulfills him and he wants to rather enter a mutual action where he bestows to the Creator and the Creator wants to bestow to him. That is the only way he can get to know the Creator and recognize what the Creator gives him and also be a partner in their connection. So, what happens here is that the Creator and the created being begin to be connected and where do they begin to be connected? Only in Malchut where the created being feels what he received from the Creator and in the response to what receives from the Creator he can reconnect to the Creator and that’s what we see and from here we understand why the created being performed a restriction because he wants to be in the same quality of bestowal, free of himself just like the Creator bestows free of himself. So, the action of restriction is the first action of equivalence of form with the Creator.

52. S. (01:32:58) I never understand what it means that reflected light becomes a vessel of reception?

R. Because after the restriction when the created being determines he doesn’t want to receive in order to receive any more the reflected light which is the created beings intention to bestow to the Creator it becomes a condition, so to the extent that he has reflected light he can receive from the Creator and that reception will be considered bestowing.

53. S. (01:33:33) I don’t understand the reason for the restriction, it was from her choice or did she not have any choice because of the shame?

R. It all has to come only from a decision because if it happens due to the shame it means that the created being is under the rule of the Creator. So it has to be a free desire, meaning that the restriction too happens due to a free desire, if it happens by necessity in means that the created being is not yet independent, it’s just the Creator doing all these actions

S. So how to organize those two explanations?

R. It is because it always goes through four phases therefore each and every action thus becomes free.

S. The Kabbalists sometimes give us the explanation that there was shame and that was the reason for the restriction and sometimes it is a decoration and is from her own desire. How to organize those two explanations?

R. No, on the one hand, it’s also something that happens in our life, on the one hand shame appears where the feeling of the receiver comes directly from the upper one, from the host, lets say, but on the other hand when you see an opportunity to bestow to the host, to equalize with the host that becomes your action that you take on the restriction and use reception in order to bestow.

S. So the shame didn’t obligate her to do a restriction; she did it on her own desire.

R. No, the shame necessitates phase four to recognize how opposite phase four, the created being is from the Keter and now phase four has to make a choice why does it restrict itself. Because she herself is ashamed and doesn’t want to suffer or because she wants to equalize herself with the Keter. That’s where the decision is and at that point there’s a difference between the created being who wants to advance towards the Creator and the created being who just wants to receive.

S. Clear. Where does the decoration come in here?

R. The adornment, or decoration is where he sees that his action is an action of reception and this action is beyond the will to receive what he wants to receive without any account. Now what he wants to receive with this calculation that’s called adornment, now that is a different kind of reception it is a reception through reflected light that you now receive from the host and eat after you decided to eat not in order to fulfill the desire then you now have other vessels, different vessels, different kind of relationship towards which you receive, different calculations, you feel that?

S. So the shame is an action of the upper one that came before the adornment that came from the lower one?

R. The shame like Rabash says is a creation in and of itself.

S. And that came before the adornment?

R. Yes, of course it causes the adornment.

S. And the adornment is a decision on behalf of the lower one?

R. Yes.

54. S. (01:42:18) Isn’t there danger that the restriction and the screen will let us feel empty and in darkness and distance us from the light instead of bringing us closer to it?

R. There is no such thing, the more you do the restriction, screed and reflected light in that you want to bestow you will feel that you will have more and more opportunity to receive from the Creator. We will talk about it, that’s not, the question is irrelevant.

55. S. (01:43:15) This feeling of shame from the gap between the qualities and recognition of evil, is that the same thing?

R. The shame is, as it is written, is a preparation for high souls meaning that they have the preparation to be in contact with the Creator to feel that they have a need to bestow to Him. Because just shame, where do you get shame? Does a baby have shame towards the parents? On the contrary, he comes and pushes them around and asks them for things and demands things and so on. He has a clear feeling inside that they owe him, they owe him. He even hits them, a little baby if they don’t give him something, right? So we see that from birth there is so much commitment from the upper one towards the lower one and the lower one understands that the upper one owes him. That’s how we develop.

56. S. (01:44:55) After reading this chapter shouldn’t we feel everything from chapter one better because everything becomes all of a sudden more interesting. Where everything just started, where it explains about the first restriction of the light of Ein Sof. How should we study, should we continue or should we go back to the first because before it wasn’t accessible but now it is becoming more and more accessible so what is the suggestion?

R. You will always have a desire to go back to the beginning because you will always discover how much you lack from the very first line of what you studied more and more. It is good, it is a good feeling, it is a correct feeling, it is a sign that you are advancing but still we have to move forward and all those things we learned bit by bit we will gradually understand them better and better. All and all, we are learning the beginning, we’re moving forward to better understand the beginning, which is how the upper light fills the whole reality. So, it is a good, correct feeling but there is no choice, we have to move forward nevertheless.

57. S. (01:46:45) So he says here that the screen that detains the light so it won’t expand in phase four went back. How does it do it? What does it mean the force of the screen detains the light, why should it detain the light not to reach phase four?

R. I do not want to be just a receiver, a beast. I don’t want to be a beast just receiving from the Creator, I want to be with a reciprocal connection, that means being Adam somewhat similar to Him, even to the smallest extent but similar and therefore, I make a restriction and advance myself to being Adam on my level, on my corporeal beastly level. When I receive I receive only to sustain myself this is called neither condemned nor praised. Other than that, all the things that I enjoy I want my pleasures to be only aimed at the Creator that I’m doing it for Him. This means that I perform a restriction and everything else is only with respect to the Creator.

S. You mentioned the coupling by striking does it have anything to do with this?

R. Yes. It manifests by the coupling by striking, we will learn that.

58. S. (01:48:34) Isn’t the Creator infinite? Where do we draw him from?

R. The Creator is infinite.

59. S. (01:48:50) Before you said that could be a state where the created being is falling from the restriction before the screen and the reflected light.

R. I don’t remember what I said and when you relying on.that the created being falls from the restriction?

S. Before the screen can there but the state you said you cannot be?

R. I don’t know ,I don’t remember what I mentioning is not my words that they created being false from the restriction?

S. I mean that there is a restriction and not reflected light. You said that we can reach a state from the restriction and we can go so far and begin again.

R. Yes.

S. What happened after that stay where does it go?

R. You don’t have vessels to receive it, you are saying there is fall.. So they departed to Ein Sof.

Item # 65 Chapter 6 ( 01:50:26) “The reflected lines dividing Sefirot…”

60. R. (01:52:04) Meaning until phase 4 doesn’t respond, you cannot see phase 4 only my only according to his response then all the phases are awakened and then everything is visible. The upper light itself fills all of reality but reality becomes, it remains dark, only when there is a response from the created being then we see that there’s something here that there is a created being and 4 phases and so on.

Item #66 (01:52:44) “The ten Sefirot of direct light expand from above”..

61. R. (01:53:48) According to the will to receive in every Sefirot.

Item #66 (01:53:52) “it means that the more refined is also more important,

Item #67 (01:54:23) “There are ten more Sefirot in the emanated being.

Item 68 (01:5534) “The Malchut of direct light is the Keter of reflected light.”

Item #69 (01:5626) “The Malchut of direct light is in the Keter of…”

61. R. (01:57:47) Yes there is an opposite value between direct light and reflected light. In direct from pure to coarse and from coase to pure.

Item 70 (01:58:05) “Malchut consists of all ten Sefirot of reflected light…”

62. R. (01:50:04) it is clear that ten Sefirot of reflected light is a result of the ten Sefirot of direct light and the screen that gives birth to them and organizes them back.

Item # 71 (01:59:17) “The refinement of the screen divides phase four .…”

63. R. (02:00:45) Okay, I hope that throughout the day today you will speak about it between you and your meetings on all that is happening here that we are learning the lesson and through that if you have any questions so tomorrow we can add explanations. For now let’s go to questions as quick as we can just to the point.

64. S. (02:01:13) Yes, how can we even imagine this to ourselves that the ten Sefirot of reflected light received the tenSefirot of direct light? How does this happen?

R. The ten Sefirot of reflected light all come from the coarseness that wants to resemble the Creator. That’s why by this they absorbed the ten Sefirot of the direct light because they have coarseness, they have a character with a created being that is willing to accept the qualities of the Creator. That’s why without the restriction and reflected screen and reflected light the Created being cannot get the qualities of the Creator can resemble in anything. Only after he raises the reflected light. He absorbs the direct light inside the reflected light then from this He can work as the Creator. That is why he’s called the created being, called Adam, that resembles the Creator.

S. What is that coarseness? Meaning the ten Sefirot of the reflected light means I want to bestow to the Creator?

R. But where do you want to give to the Creator? From having the will to receive that you invert it in order to bestow. That’s why it becomes a vessel for direct light. Let’s say you worked, you prepared the meal, the guest came, you gave it to him and then by this you expressed your desire to give to the guests so it becomes a vessel day extent of your bestowal.

65. S. (02:03:26) What does it mean to enjoy to benefit from the light doing the study?

R. To expect the upper force to give you forces to bestow.

66. S. (02:03:42) Why is there a mediator between Malchut and the source of light ?Which is the first three phases? Why can’t Malchut just connect?

R. Malchut can connect to all the qualities of bestowal if she doesn’t develop these qualities before her roots 1, 2, 3. Then phase 4 can feel that something came before her. Then by rising to those degrees, by connecting to them, she can be connected to the Creator. She cant herself be connected to the Creator. How can it be that the will to receive to connect to the will to bestow? They are opposite to one another. There has to be a servant between her and them and then the Malchut can connect to Keter.

S. It’s like a preparation that she goes through until she reaches Keter?

R. Yes.

67. S. (02:04:49) It says that Malchut of direct light is the Keter of reflected light. I can’t understand how Malchut, which doesn’t have light, becomes the Keter crown of reflected light.

R. She performs a restriction and has no light. First she has light she just restricted the light to herself, she doesn want to receive. That’s why she can be the Keter of the reflected light. Specifically, that she doesn’t want to receive the direct light but the light comes to her, the light of EinSof and she says,’I don’t want it, I want to resemble the bestower. Meaning even if you give me everything that you want I just want one thing, to resemble the bestower. The bestower doesn’t receive and neither will I.

S. The Keter of reflected light is above the Masach or is still inside the Malchut above which there is a screen?

R. I don’t understand your calculations, your drawings or technique. Just understand where it has to be in the desires.

68. S. (02:06:09) How should we relate to the lesson of TES, what should you be thinking about?

R. That we can also study in such a way.

S. How do I draw the light that reforms? Meaning, what do I think about is not the wise one who learns so what do I do?

R. You need to repeat this lesson throughout the day and to organize these things that’ll be clear what you have learned.

S. Durin the lesson, what do I think about?

R. How to reassemble the upper light in my bestowal towards Him and to resemble his bestowal towards me.He brings me fulfillment and I bring the vessel for fulfillment . That’s it.

S. How do you draw the light that reforms during the lesson?

R. By thinking about how I want to give him the vessel to fill.

69. S. (02:07:34) Is there a state where there is just restriction without screen or basically when there’s a screen there is automatically a screen as well?

R. No, there is a screen separately. This screen is from the upper one, from the Creator. From Malchut of Ein Sof that it restricts itself and says to the vessel of reception the light won’t go in there. That is her decision. Now after that, we have a way to bypass supposedly this condition that the light won’t come in. It doesn’t go into the will to receive but a will to receive that has an intention to bestow, I’m not receiving, I don’t want to receive in the desire to receive but I want to develop the will to bestow on my behalf,  in order to bestow on my behalf. Then the upper light can expand in me and then I have to receive it when it expands in me also in order to bestow. So we have intentions before receiving the upper light in me that I prepared myself to in order to bestow to the Creator and afterwards I start receiving from the Creator the fulfillment and this fulfillment I feel in me, in my wrapping, in my intention not to bestow to the Creator. That’s what happened to us, that’s how we learn. The method of reception.

70. S. (02:09:37) What does it mean that shame is a creation in and of itself?

R. The Creator cannot establish in the will to receive the feeling of shame. The feeling of shame between Him and between the Creator and the created being. That’s why the created being couldn’t feel a gap between them like a baby. A baby doesn’t feel that there is a difference between him and the mother. The mother gives and he receives, He is  just demanding. So, it could be that the will receive developed in a way that it felt itself as alien, as different, that the feeling of the difference is clarified through the feeling of shame, through the gap between the giving and the receiving.

71. S. (02:10:36) Is the intention to be similar to the Creator be referred to as reflected light?

R. Yes, we will learn about it. Towards that same direction.

72. S. (02:10:53) Baal HaSulam talks about two kinds of Malchut in Excerpt 61, the restricted Malchut and the Machut with the screen. Why are there two kinds of Machut? What is the difference?

R. There are many kinds of Malchut, many kinds of the will to receive in the vessels that relate to the fulfilling in different ways. It all comes from the degrees of coarseness that are in the world to receive.

73. S. (02:11:26) Is it correct doing TES to think about states that I’m going through with the ten or life in general and do this relate to the study material?

R. If you could go together, yes it is good. I’m not sure that is possible yet.

74. S. (02:11:50) Are all the desires of the created being included in phase four? What is the intensity of the desire of the created being?

R. All the desires are in phase four.

S. What determines the intensity of the desire of the created being?

R. That is determined from its place in the vessel of Adam HaRishon where it is there somewhere. Where its source is from.

75. S. (02:12:26) Before the restriction do we need to reach a feeling that there is only me and the Creator or is it sufficient to feel shame from receiving from the friends without seeing the Creator behind them?

R. No. We have to see the friends and the Creator behind them and then from that full picture then I approach to develop myself in restriction.

76. S. (2:12:55) Can the created being bestow to the Creator if phase four remains empty?

R. Yes. We have to try and feel that behind the friends is the Creator and I am standing before them right in front of them and in this way I can reach the development of my phase four to such an extent that the restriction will develop.

S. But restriction is already my bestowal to the Creator.

R. No, it’s not bestowal yet. The restriction you can say that it its an egoistic bestowal, my own, that I watch myself so I won’t get harmed that I won’t be the receiver so I won’t be far from the Creator. That restriction still doesn’t mean that I want to bestow to the Creator. In the restriction there are many discernments so, the first one is I don’t want to be a receiver because by this I am embarrassed about it, I don’t want to distance myself. The restriction doesn’t mean anything. There are many people, there are many people who don’t receive that restrict themselves but it’s because of pride. Try and give something to someone you will see how, look at all these faces before us nobody wants to receive anything just like that because there is always a question, what is going on and why? Doesn’t want to be the receiver, the receiver, it obligates and when I feel obligated it distances me.

77. S. (02:15:10) Can the created being bestow to the Creator if he at least receives something in phase four?

R. To receive in phase four is something that it is already a spiritual degree. I need, before, to perform a restriction, screen, reflected light, preparation and then receive in order to bestow. Before I need that in my phase four, I’ll have the will to bestow called the quality of Bina and then in the quality of Bina when it is there in me in something then I can think of receiving in order to bestow that is why first there are degrees to reach from Malchut to Bina and then to Keter.

78. S. (02:15:57) Is the intention the screen?

R. The intention is part of the screen, let’s say that.

79. S. (02:16:18) We barely see the results of our actions. Will it always be like that or there will be a point where we will be able to see the direct results of our actions?

R. Let’s say if you annul your egoistic desire between you and you want to bestow upon one another and stop on one another and you want to connect with one another at least in something so why shouldn’t you see it between you? You will see it. Now the question is what’s next? Next it needs to be revealed in your connections, between you. The intensity, the character of your connection, that’s where you will be able to reveal your spiritual relationships.

80. S. (02:17:34) Is the restriction the meeting place of the created being with the Creator?

R. The restriction is the meeting place between the created being and the Creator, correct but only the beginning, then to develop, we need to distance that restriction.

81. S. (02:18:00) The actions of Malchut sound automatic or instinctive, how does she know what to do?

R. No, no, no. The created being must think and calculate how he works with other created beings in order to create a place for the revelation of the light in him.

82. S. (02:18:30) Is it correct to want to stay under the restriction until the light corrects me and then I’m ready for the next stage? How do I know if I’m ready for the next stage?

R. Start coming close to one another and then you will see, then you will get guidance from above.

83. S. (02:18:56) Can we talk about Sefirot only after receiving through the reflected light?

R. Before that there are no Sefirot. The Sefirot is only when the direct light is clothed in the reflected light.

84. S. (02:19:15) Do we need to reverse the sense of gratitude for what the Creator gives us into shame or are they two different things?

R. Again.

S. Gratitude, do we need to transform it into shame or is that two different things?

R. Gratitude? Why should I turn that into shame?

S. Because you receive it for free.

R. No, the fact that the Creator is doing it for me I have to turn it into bestowal.

S. But it goes through shame before it reaches bestowal?

R. Yes and no there are many different ways here but I have to hurry up and bestow it to the Creator.

85. S. (02:20:29) There is desire and there is yearning. What is the difference?

R. What is the difference between desire and yearning? The yearning comes above the desire. That is still not realizing their desires, just a yearning.

86. S. (02:20:59) There is a request to explain item 70.

R. Malchut consists of all ten Sefirot of the reflected light.

Rav reads Excerpt 70: Phase four herself is also divided into ten Sefirot, meaning four phases and Keter, by the power of her reflected light that expands to ten Sefirot. It is so because phase four herself is the Keter of reflected light, namely the root, and the nine Sefirot of reflected light that expand and rise from her are her branches. It is known that all the branches exist in the root. Thus, phase four herself is regarded as five phases, which are Keter and the four phases, expanding from below upward.

R. (02:22:00) Meaning just as the upper light comes from Keter to Malchut in the ten Sefirot of reflected light, that’s how it comes that concealed the response from Malchut to Keter in reflected light. These two forms of relationships clothe in one another and shine in one another, and complete one another. Then Malchut is included from all the ten Sefirot of reflected light just as Keter is included in all the Sefirot of direct light and in this way there is incorporation in clothing of the direct light that comes from above downward from Keter tMalchut to the reflected light that comes from Malchut to Keter. That’s it.

87. S. (02:23:08) In the process of correction do we need to be free from the restriction?

R. You were in the restriction earlier? I don’t understand. We always have to remain below the restriction. We don’t receive directly from the Creator but only in reflected light only in order to give back to him. That’s it. I don’t want to be a thief that receives directly. Only under the condition that the Creator gives to me then I want to get back to him. What do I give to him? I give it back to him only in my attitude. Other than that, what can I give him? This attitude is what we develop, these are all the spiritual qualities that are demanded of us. That I want to bestow to the Creator. How do I check that? How do I establish it? By bestowing it to the friends.

If I organized the ten no matter in what way they are shattered and broken this way, that way,it doesn’t matter. If I want to bestow to the Creator I must bestow to them. That is called from the love of the created beings to the love of the Creator. That’s what has to be . To bestow from me to the Creator and organize it in a way that I first go to the friends and if the friends receive my bestowal, they connect by it, and are organized by it, as much as I can do these things. I must depict to myself that it is all given to me. I must do it. So if I do it, through the ten I work toward the Creator. That after the fiends is the Creator and I am bestowing to them.

88. S. (02:25:35) Can a person identify his place in the vessel of Adam HaRishon?

R. That’s not for now. But of course that we know everything, we attained it at the entire vessel of Adam HaRishon. Not only a partial, a small part of it that supposedly belongs to me all of Adam, HaRrison belongs to me, this whole vessel and to everyone and to each and everyone, and it doesn’t disturb or steal Adam HaRishon from one to the next.

89. S. (02:26:12) It is not clear what it is really to bestow to the friends. What is bestowing?

R. To bestow means to do the best thing possible to the other.

90. S. (02:26 46) I have a question about the exercise you gave. You told us to read TES during the day between us and put together questions for the next lesson. You also said to talk about it between you and organize it. How to do it correctly in the ten so we don’t start teaching each other and getting confused?

R. I do not know. I think that we need to take this part we learned today, in chapter 6 and read it. Especially read the headlines of all these paragraphs. Read these headlines, we have to understand them and according to the order of these titles, these Headlines we will see what Baal HaSulam is trying to explain to us in this whole part

S. The reading is clear, what do we discuss in the workshop with the friends have to start reading?

R. I don’t think you would have time for a workshop, you scrutinize what he writes.

S. What does it mean to scrutinize what he writes? What do I need to say what he writes?

R. You don’t have to speak about his writing you have to read.

S. When does it mean to clarify what he writes?

R. I said that first you are reading the headlines of what he writes in chapter 5 and chapter 6 and part two of TES. That’s it. All the best to everyone. Thank you
