1.Rav’s Introduction: Let’s read the excerpt that they have prepared for us, number 19.
Reading Excerpt 19 (00:30)
2. R. (01:35) Yes, there are stages as we see that at first the person, every person, doesn’t matter who he is, he wants by his own forces to attain his goal that is before him, and it becomes new. He himself changes, he has greater intellect, more emotions, more experience or more disappointments and this is how he progresses until he starts to understand that it takes a lot of time for each and every one, depending on the person’s effort. But it usually takes a lot of time until a person starts to understand that attaining the goal does not depend on him, but rather depends on how much the Creator helps him. That it depends on the Creator’s good will and then he can progress towards the purpose of creation, to the purpose of his life. In what does the Creator help him? This is what they say here that the light in it reforms him, that the Creator brings some light, some power, and the person starts more and more to feel and understand and discover and to arrange these things so that he already sees before him some path through cause and consequence, that it opens before him. Then accordingly, he already begins to realize that only on this path there are stages he has to go through which are coming closer to the friends and together with the friends to create special forces united and special forces that bring him closer to the goal. That in this goal he starts to see this as not his personal success as it was in the beginning, but he starts to see a common success, that it is impossible to achieve the goal unless through all of us connecting as a single point. As we become as a singular point and inside this singular point, this connection, that one point between them they start to attain the goal. The goal is shared, it is common between them, and it cannot be that there is something that is not dependent on anyone of the friends, but everybody depends on everybody. It is called the mutual responsibility or mutual guarantee and only through this mutual guarantee increasing, with increasing the connection such that there is no difference between them, but they are all important, they are all united. They reach a state there in the connection between them, in the effort to connect between them, they reach at state that they give the Creator at place to bestow, to bring his bestowal, his influence and the effort from below meets the Creator actions from above and then the Creator can build for them the vessel and be revealed in this vessel. This is how we should see this process, certainly it takes time for each and everything because it does not depend on the intellect, but it depends on the effort that the person makes from the internal point in his soul. There are those who reach it quickly some more slowly, one understands more, the other less, this is how it is in each and everybody in his mind and in heart and eventually we have to reach a state where both the mind and the heart come together. Until we reach such a group where they can already discover the Creator of themselves, this is what I can see about this text for the time being. I do not see any questions, so we can continue, maybe we should read another excerpt.

2. R. (09:29) Yes, we see here several stages that we have to go through, that at first we study and that we have no explanation, no understanding of what we study and then we depict instead of the true things, something that we are capable of understanding and establishing for ourselves. This is what he says, that since he has no knowledge about the material, about the substance of the upper root which we call the holy names and the Sefirot and the Partzufim. We study and bit by bit, as a result of the work in the study, because we are nevertheless focusing on it and we want to understand and attain them in an intellectual manner, this is on one hand. On the other hand, we nevertheless are working on the connection between us as much as we are able to complete each other and this is that special Segula, remedy or power that is in the study, that if I want to connect with the others, if I begin to understand the gaps between us the Creator created them as he says, “I created the evil inclination”. That he shattered the vessel, that it is was a homogeneous single vessel that was before and the fact that he broke the vessel, it gave us the opportunity to crave and to bring the vessel back to its united form as it was before the shattering. Then as much as we yearn to bring ourselves as much as we crave to bring ourselves back to the singular form to the form of one, accordingly we wake up the light that used to fulfill the vessel when it was whole, when it was still the vessel of Adam HaRishon and later on the reach that state. This is called the Segula, remedy or virtue that we want by uniting all the broken we discover the Creator. There is an additional thing here, seemingly what was there before is that we were broken but we had some connection between us, but we did not feel that we were connected because it was our natural state. Now when we yearn to bring ourselves back to that connection and we already want to reach the essence of the connection, that is the Creator and we crave for this, then this is the reason why the vessel was broken and why it needs to be restored again.
3. S. (13:08) All our work is in our awareness, meaning we are connecting, we have the fundamentals of the work in the group, we have the framework and to what exactly is the remedy?
R. The remedy means that if I do something then in my deed there is nothing but because I exist in a special system of the friends and the Creator so through my actions I awaken some higher force that is hidden in the connection between us which I yearn for. Therefore there is an additional force that is operating and is arranging things without which things would not work out and this is the Creator. By us wanting to connect between us we build the system in which the Creator is revealed that as much as we make an effort to be connected, according to that the awaken the force of the Creator, which is one for everybody and he then connect us, he fulfills us, he arranges everything this is called the revelation of the Creator to the created beings. It turns out that it is not just that we need to see ourselves connected and united, we want to discover the essence of our connection which is called the Creator.
S. What is called the Creator? Is it revealed as a miracle, something whole or something sudden?
R. Bit-by-bit we discover more and more, even now it is revealed more and more but we do not discover it, we do not feel it, we cannot detect the revelation of the Creator that is done more and more. Later on it reaches such dimensions such degrees that we begin to feel the force that is connecting us, establishing, and arranging us in a special way between us in order to be revealed in us in actuality. From the side of the Creator there are many actions he needs to restore the vessel from the shattering to correction so that this correction will be according to our efforts and abilities. That we would progress in the connection between us so the essence of the connection from the side of the vessel, that light is revealed inside the vessel, the Creator, they would be in congruence and then they would give us stages of progress so that we would feel that each time we are as it is called “I am to my beloved and my beloved is to me”, that we are craving to the Creator and he is coming closer to us.
4. S. (16:57) I would like to understand better that when a Sage says that the state of Lishma, that this is the place where we attain the names of the Creator from explanation, what do they mean by this ?
R. The names of the Creator means all kinds of forms of connection between us in which we discover our mutual nearing, and we scrutinize the Creator, come, and see, this is how it is called that the connection between us comes and is renewed, he is formed, and this is our work. Therefore the Creator, what is come and see, that he is called come and see. Bo, come and advance in the connection with the others to an inner connection as much as possible and when you do this, Bo, come, then you reach it and then you will see, how you discover more and more the force of connection, the force of unity that exist in the, come, in your nearing to the others. Certainly, it does not happen on its own but only on the condition that we want this and the act for it and we ask that it happen.
5. S. (18:49) The light that reforms, it operates in the same manner that we read that we call the good environment as Rabash describes that we have to be to the group, that if I nullify to the upper with the quality of bestowal and I want to enlarge it and according to the same principles of the work in the group and in the environment and the light operates on me in return?
R. Yes.
S. There is no miracle, but light operates on me and corrects me?
R. Miracle means that something that we do not understand, it is above us so the whole progress in the spiritual process is all a miracle. I do not know how it is working. I need to connect. I study the stages of the communication between us as much as we connect more and more in all kinds of different forms but how do I by that activate a great entire complete system that is revealed gradually and swallows as and it is revealed to us. That I attain only following many degrees the most important things to act but you asked nicely.
6. S. (20:44) How should we glorify that desire and longing given to us to become one with the Creator, how exactly do we come to this prayer?
R. It is written that envy, lust, and honor and the desires bring people out of this world meaning from the degree that the person is on to a degree which is even higher, so the person develops envy, lust, and honor. He should not think that this is negative because the Creator did not create anything negative, he created everything for the sake of the higher purpose, for the final point. That without these qualities whatever they are, even the worst ones, we would not be able to reach the final goal. Therefore do not erase envy or lust, or honor because it says that the author’s or counter’s envy increases his wisdom, the honor of the friends and the glory of the Creator. Maybe I am not in that there are all kinds of different forms all of these examinations have all kinds of specialized examinations from each direction, the respect and the glory, glory of the person or the glory and the respect of the Creator or the glory of the goal, the envy, lust, and honor always direct us towards the goal.
7. S. (23:03) In the beginning you said that are progress depends on the Creator, the question is it dependent on the Creator that along with this, we are in the period of preparation, there is no fulfillment and yet there is no fulfillment from something rich, how to be successful in this period of preparation?
R. I think that I have to look at the others all the time and not to repress but instead the wake up inside me the envy which the Creator created truly deliberately in the right way so that we would let our envy, we would give it the right form of competition in the attainment of the goal so we would understand that without this we cannot reach anything. I saw many people who bring their children to athletic groups, small children let’s say the age of ten and so on and the children there begin to train. Then they have between them envy, competition and they have all kinds of forces where the person has to wake up his ego so why do we want this? This also in respect to the Sages and wise people it says that counter’s envy increases his wisdom; it is seemingly a good force and a bad force. We need to reveal mutual help and mercy but no it’s not correct, specifically envy, lust, and honor, they can elevate the person from his degree to a higher degree. Negative things envy, lust and honor a person wants to attain, why is this, because we have to realize what are we doing this for, what is the benefit of this, what is the purpose of my progress in envy, lust, and honor. It is seemingly negative dispositions, it would be better off if the Creator did not create them inside us, there is nothing inside the person in everything that we feel during our life from all the dispositions and thoughts. The worst one’s, they all wake up because these dispositions exist in creation in the beginning of the path and at the end of the path and they just become completed, complement each other and they reach the peak of the correct usage of them. Do not be embarrassed that you have all kinds of such qualities and dispositions that are seemingly not so nice, about this he says “go to the craftsmen who made me” so we should turn to the Creator that he did that to you and you have to ask for correction and then the Creator will arrange it for you. First he will show you what is the right form which you do not know and then he will give you a desire to ask for the right form and this is how you will progress. We should not regret the fact that we have inside of us all kinds of qualities and desires that this way this is entirely not to the point is to the contrary, that more bad and difficult things are revealed do not be embarrassed by them but instead see them as means by which you can reach a higher goal. One who is greater than his friend, his evil inclination is greater as well, the greater his inclination and then you have a greater goal in front of you, we just have to be concerned that you relate correctly to the implementation of these qualities.
S. These vessels are very strong, we are talking about envy, lust, and honor.
R. Yes, it includes the entire evil inclination it is all operated through envy, lust, and honor and together with that, these qualities, is what connect between us. We are not talking about envy, lust, and honor on the physical degrees, where one wolf has some piece of meat and the other one doesn’t, and he is envious of the first one who has it. We are talking on the human level where envy, lust and honor can elevate the person and make him jump high to develop and to make of himself a greater and higher person, more determined.
S. I noticed really that if we know how to touch this point in each person, but we have this point of envy, lust, honor then it can drive people forward. How can we do this practically in the ten, how can we help each friend in this?
R. No, no, the ten just need to care that each and everybody in the group has the possibility to connect with the others, to the friends and to turn to the Creator in a way that everybody will be able to implement and realize the opportunity that they have. Once they start to develop and they will see how much they belong to each other and that whatever is revealed in one that is something correspondingly in the other one and the 3rd and 4th until they go through these inclinations to see themselves as becoming closer to each other, as if were locked to each other like with lock. How do you say that? They join in such a way that each is entering into the other and all together they establish a single vessel?
8. S. (31:06) What is more important for our spiritual work, my intention or work in the group?
R. Both are very important, my intention is important for me because it is about the precision of my appeal through the group to the Creator. This is the intention, this is how I have to establish myself, how do I through the group reach the Creator, how to establish the group so that it brings me the image of the Creator so that all the friends when they connect and I feel their attitude to me and also to the path and also to the Creator as the goal, so I get the right direction and the guidance in life. Without being connected correctly to the group this way I have no possibility to take even a single step forward.
Reading 21 (33:00)
9. R. (33:48) Yes, this means that in our study we should always have the intention that this will invert our relation to what we study and to the Creator and to the group so that I relate to everything that is outside of me as the most important thing that I want to adhere to it I want to glue myself to it in heart and soul so that the study will give me this adhesion so that I lose myself and I will only want to feel them. Why is it good that I actually lose myself? in truth I do not lose myself I only start to feel them inside of me, this is what it means to lose myself. The vessel does not disappear the desire doesn’t disappear, the connection doesn’t disappear but rather I want to entirely format myself, my will to receive according to the group, according to the friends and that this way that they would clothe over me, this is what I expect that they would clothe over me and will arrange for me my will to receive in such a way that I would be able to be in a complete connection with them and inside of that I discover the Creator. I do not know if I spoke clearly but go ahead and ask.
10. R. (36:03) I’m sure there are questions from the women, the women understand it because they receive this material in a very special way, and I am very happy that they participate in our lesson.
11. S. (36:28) Is there a difference between the light that reforms and the remedy?
R. There are a few examinations in that I am not sure it is worthwhile to get into it. The reforming light is the entire light that is operating for the time being on the vessel that is undergoing corrections. There is no difference in the light there is only a difference in the preparation of the vessel for the influence of the light so therefore we call it the reforming light. From the side of the Creator there is no special reforming light that comes and in general these lights that come to us it is ourselves in our relation who seemingly pull them or choose them but they, these influences, operate in a gradual manner this is how they need to act.
12. S. (37:45) If a person works on developing jealousy to the friends, how can he shield himself from negative jealousy and develop positive jealousy?
R. I need to be always in two lanes. In one it is as much as I have smarter and more successful friends and more progressed ones I need to be happy because together with them I progress to the goal and even that I, in this group in the smallest one but together with that together with them I can reach the goal together with them let’s say you are given the opportunity to enter some research group or some very big important high university group or you are given the opportunity to enter some group that is learning just incidentally it all depends what you are choosing. On this it is written it is better to be the tail for the Lions then the head of the fox. That is clear so we always need to make the effort to belong to the bigger and more important group and in that group we are in we should wake up this drive the importance of the goal more and more. The group is measured not according to how much it is progressing instead where does it want to progress to? Meaning what is the direction? What is its dream? According to that we check because all do not have the forces or the understanding, we are all broken and empty but nevertheless out of our breaking we can locate, detect the goal. According to this we check the person. It is the same in our physical life more or less. Besides, each has different physical conditions in terms of money and intellect and the other tools and means but we appreciate the person according to his north star. Where does he want to reach? What is he truly yearning for? This is how it is.
13. S. (40:52) How to use lust?
R. Lust? How to use lust? This we have to learn; this we need to reach. We need to open some texts on what is this lust of man, there are text about them we will learn them because otherwise we would fall into physical feelings about money and the respect and sex and knowledge. These are all very small physical beastly lusts. We will think about this. I wanted to say that we have to gather the material for this.
14. S. (42:10) You said that the worst desires and thoughts also need to reach a high goal, how to use them correctly because for the time being they only deflect us from thinking about the goal?
R. We come from the shattering, we are all broken, we are all criminals, in none of us there is anything good, there is nothing good in all of us. Each one wants to show himself that he is good and that he wants to be closer to the others, that he wants the benefit of everybody and all such things. This is how we are operated from self-defense force that we feel in such a way I am protecting myself in the most correct way, but this is not what I truly want. If my ego were revealed in its full power then I would ruin and kill everybody, clean the field and I would remain alone on this planet. We need to understand what are the changes that we have to receive on ourselves.
15. S. (43:54) Do we bestow to the friends when we put them inside of ourselves or influence them?
R. If I incorporate all the friends in myself by this I am making the first correction on them and how much I’m capable, they do not feel this in practice, but I already prepare them for correction, and this is how each is working on the others. It is worthwhile for us to reach a state when the whole world feels they are connected to me and that I would be ready to work for them, to pray for them and this is how we progress. These are bringing great corrections if I think in this way about everybody.
16. S. (45:10) What is the honor that brings the person out of this world?
R. That depends on the degree the person is on but in each and every degree we go through the self-respect, the respect of the group, the respect of the world and of the Creator, the respect of the nation and the whole of mankind, women, and men. We need to see by what forces we can progress and then we will see that there is nothing that was created for no reason and envy, lust, honor, the hate, and rejection, whatever, we may say all of these things have a place in the whole system, in the whole system. All of the opposing, the most evil forces they specifically operate together with the good forces as it is written that the Angel of Death is destined to become the Holy angel. There is nothing to do with all these things the Creator created these things in me, and it is written “go to the Craftsman who made me”, go to him to reveal the corrections on the evil things that he created in me and he is doing it intentionally that everyone would turn to him, find the connection with him and learn from him how from this evil to do good. You are not at fault that you were born evil, the Creator created the evil inclination, we just need to not to conceal it. Do not conceal it and do not hide it and they look what is written about the students of Rabbi Shimon they wanted to kill each other, they wanted to reach the degree of Atzilut, when they began the lesson it is revealed to them more and more shattering and they feel themselves, that they wanted to kill each other. These are very big things we need to understand that everything that we feel, it is just the beginning of the path only, more and more evil will be revealed and we have to be happy. Because in the revelation of the evil as Baal HaSulam writes in his letter that he is happy that he revealed the wicked because if they are not revealed then we are in zero for the correction.
17. S. (48:17) What does it mean to turn to the Creator together in the ten?
R. This does not mean that we are sitting together, or we have some ten people praying together like the Minyan, then they have a correct and stronger attitude instead in everything that we are doing in every moment we want to keep that connection between us as a ten because then surely we are reaching the entrance to the Creator. We are surely waking up the deficiency to answer us necessarily, by necessity, that he will answer and precisely he will answer in the same way as we turn to him in that we connect with him we are building this line of connection to him and in the same line of connection he returns his response, his answer. This is the matter of restriction, screen and reflected light that becomes a vessel for the reception of the direct light and already in this we are building a new spiritual state.
18. S. (50:17) If I feel envious of you, to your high degree, that you are doing great things in the world, do you have jealousy towards Rabash and Baal HaSulam and did this help your progress?
R. I cannot say that I was full of envy for Rabash or even more to say about Baal HaSulam. I felt myself very small compared to them, compared to Baal HaSulam I do not even know but next to a Rabash I just simply felt that there is nothing to do here. There is me and him and envy, I do not know, I did not feel so much jealousy because I saw a person who was so huge in attainment that where can you find someone in attainment like him and he’s already in a different world and he feels what is happening there. Is in a direct connection with the Creator and I am here in my physical desires, so there is no foundation for envy, it is like a little kid he can be jealous of some adult, some wise person. It is not the same envy that we are usually talking about, we are talking about the jealousy that there is some grasp in the higher degree, that you are jealous that you have not yet reached it, but it is not truly envy. Envy by us is that we are grasping in something that you are envious of, but I next to Rabash, I felt nevertheless, not all the times, there were times when he gave me the opportunity to be close to his degree, but we will reach that.
S. You said that statement, that the end of correction can come here and now, we have this holiday coming, Lag B’Omer, the holiday of light and we feel an awakening. What now, what other ingredient is the group missing, so this transition would take place, so we would reach the end of correction for us and for the whole world, what else is required?
R. We, in the correction of our own vessels, the holiday of light symbolizes for us a very important stage of correction. We reach a state when we are already in the force of bestowal, in the force of Bina and in this we are preparing our vessel with the light of Hassadim. This way, this holiday is symbolizing for us a very huge stage of the correction of the vessels, that we reached the degree of Bina. Then from there we can reach the Matan Torah which is after the Shavuot and from there we reveal the second half of the vessel and in Shavuot we receive all the upper light called Torah. These are the stages that we are learning and we are making an effort to come closer to them and we hope that this is how it will surely happen, we see already according to understanding and sensation that nevertheless, there are some changes and what is missing for us nevertheless is to be, we have to be in a constant appeal and a prayer to the Creator we lack this prayer, that each one for can pray for himself and everybody because the state we are in is called The Last Generation. It is the general correction of the entire vessel of Adam HaRishon, and we have to pray for all of mankind that they would reach the revelation of the Creator.
S. Are we capable of this according to your view?
R. If we were not worthy we would not have received what we have received, if we were already worthy of receiving the corrections, we would already be in correction, so that means that we are on the way.
19. S. (57:06) Yesterday I had a conversation with two friends from two different tens. They shared with me their pains that they do not succeed in seeing the greatness of the friends, of being envious of them, because it seems to them that those friend’s do not understand the framework, they do not turn on the camera, they do not fulfill the tasks you give us, and I also feel that pain, so what is your advice for friends who are trying, making efforts but they do not see in their tens the same impression, same inspirations, and they have nothing to grip onto?
R. On one hand nothing we can do, it will come, on the other hand we have to understand that my progress is not dependent on this that I feel that I am advancing rather how much I can support others in order that they will advance, that’s called in order to bestow and that’s all our work. If they think that they are behind some black screen that they do not even show themselves to others and with this they are lowering the impression of the friends then they’re really doing an opposite form they are hurting themselves and everyone. I do not understand it, why do I have to get up and do everything, prepare myself, and appear before you and they think they do not have to and we talk about this many times. I do not want to talk about it so much really, rather what can we do? If the person does not hear he does not hear. Just as he was born this is the way that’s how he will die the Arvut, the mutual guarantee is the most necessary thing that we have, there is no more than this and how much I am helping others, that’s it, especially the friends, the ten, our general vessel. If I cannot awaken all these that are before me now on the screen then I cannot be calm, I cannot calm down, meaning I have to see them I have to send them out of my heart a message to awaken, to connect, if I am not doing this I am not performing the correction of the system of Adam HaRishon.
20. S. (01:00:07) I heard you say that to lose myself means that I feel the friends inside of me, but this is how I feel them but where is the actual point of connection, does it all take place inside of me?
R. All is all inside of you, everything is inside a man, the entire world, a person is called a small world.
S. How does it happen that if I include the friends inside of me, I heard you say that if I include the friends in me that I make the first correction on them?
R. This I cannot say, there’s a lot of manners, a lot of facets of this. We need to understand that it is not so much important to us how it occurs, it is important to us that it will occur, and these two things cannot be together, usually not. I can cause corrections and I can understand them or not understand them, to see them or not.
21. S. (01:01:43) What does it mean to be included in the group and is it a correction?
R. To be incorporated in the group? That is the necessary correction that everyone needs to be in it and the main correction, thus after Matan Torah, the article the giving of the Torah, Baal HaSulam wrote the article of the Arvut, The Mutual Guarantee, that only according to, without that rule of the mutual Arvut we don’t reach the correction of the vessel and then we don’t reach the revelation of the light that blossomed at the time of the breaking of the vessel and that is the generality in the Upper light and thus our entire reality that we are in, that we exist in, that we received this invitation for correction, all of this we cannot realize. Is that clear?
22. S. (01:03:09) We are here in the Fathers and Sons Convention. We would like to evoke envy in the friends, in our children so that they would like to be part of the special thing that we all belong to. How do we give an example to the friends so we can awaken this desire in them?
R. We need to think about it and to think how we make such a creations, some activities by which the children can understand what we are engaged in and to appreciate the corrections that we are doing in all of humanity, the importance of our work, that we are the most advanced part of all humanity and as a group, we are truly a big group, unique one and is in the care of the Creator, it’s progress that is not so easy, it is slow because the volume is high, its big, nonetheless we need to think about the importance of the work and kids will also then be impressed from it. It passes to them even without words. The importance that a person gives, his effort, his work, it is felt in his environment.
23. S. (01:05:11) You said that a person is a small world, and the Creator is showing me my lack of perfection, of wholeness, through the friends, through the world. Does this bring me to having to correct my perception, is that how it works?
R. This that I feel the world and feel it in the matter that is lowly it says about my attitude to the world and to the Creator. I need to bring myself to a state that I will see the world that will reach correctly and good and everyone is coming closer and in whole Arvut and the Creator fills everyone. That is the true form that exists and that I see something that is very far from this state it only shows only how much I need to go through degrees of correction.
24. S. (01:06:34) What should I do if I feel that I am running away even from the discussions about the Arvut, I feel that it is not for me, that it is not achievable, there’s no point in even talking about it?
R. We need by force to enter such states that we do not want to be in them rather passively, passively, yes, I want to go in and poke around and feel and understand without any obligation that is the key. So initially that is how we want, just like we go to a movie theater, we are incorporated in some process but it’s not ours, I will go and watch the movie and I leave just like we say, it’s a movie, it passes over us and that’s it, we are impressed from it, incorporated from it, it educates, us but nonetheless we need it, thus to be in a group, to be incorporated in Arvut, to be present in it in the most passive manner even is still incorporation and that is what is upon each and every one. This, that a person is not even capable of being in it I can understand, I had also very great rejection, repulsion from being connected to others especially in this that I was always with Rabash, and he disconnected me from the others, and we will talk about this maybe sometime. What am I trying to say here? We need to enter Arvut even without any obligation and without making any criticism of this on anyone, even that he is in the boat, he is in the boat and whatever he can participate let him participate. That we need to give each and every one some role, even not a spiritual one rather a corporeal one in the group is also good and we will advance this way. Support, the main thing is support along the way.
25. S. (01:09:45) How to correctly pass on a message of awakening from my heart to the friend?
